I have no idea who Andy is, but he sounds great. Unfortunately for us, we worked with Steve Creasy, and I agree with every one other one star review about him. "Road of misery", horrible workmanship, caused damage to walls, unreliable, unresponsive, seems to have fired himself because he just stopped showing up and responding. read more

I received a quote for stained/ polished floors which was to take 2 days. Initially when I made contact with Steve, he was communicative and seemed to want my business. However, after the second day of work, communication with the Steve was always difficult and unprofessional. First Steven was supposed to return to finish my floors after the 2 days were up on Friday, as he left wholes in the concrete, numerous footprints all over the concrete, and did a terrible job with the stain. On day three (Saturday), Steve did not show up nor did he phone me, instead he sent his subcontractor to my home and never showed himself. The subcontractor did nothing to rectify the mess that Steven made of my floors. The next text/contact I received from Steve was on Tuesday (over 3 days from the time he was to show up to my house) indicating he had the rest of the stain and he was now ready to come by my home. This is problematic for numerous reason, the first being that I was promised that the job would be completed in a specific number of days and this did not occur, (2) he did not show when promised, (3) and did not have the common courtesy to keep me abreast of his whereabouts on a job I paid him to do. I had to hire another contractor to clean up his mess and re-do my floors. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

*BE SURE TO READ UPDATE dated May 2016* Thank you, Just Concrete Floors, for truly saving our #AustinFixer house. When John French of Decorative Concrete of Austin... or Stained Concrete of Austin... ruined every square inch of flooring in our house, Just Concrete Floors came to our rescue! After going through a terrible flooring experience, we were hopeless. We couldn't live with the floors as they were, and we didn't know who to trust, moving forward. Just Concrete Floors understood our apprehension, and happily provided references. Person after person spoke to the quality of their workmanship. One satisfied customer sent me text after text of photos of his floors, and even invited us to stop by his place in person if we needed the assurance to move forward. When folks are THAT excited about their floors, we knew we had to entrust our home to Just Concrete Floors. What took one guy 9 days to ruin... Just Concrete Floors made beautiful in 3 short days. Just Concrete Floors removed the botched layers of flooring, gave us a brand new overlay, then stained, and sealed the floors in our home. They gave us a very fair price and involved us in every step of the process. When they began staining, I was right there beside them. We designed the floor color together, and as a result, it's a work of art! They've followed-up with us numerous times, and have stopped by the house to ensure our satisfaction. Not only did they make sure our floors were taken care of, but they were sensitive enough to make sure that WE were taken care of. We went through a lot, having to move out of a house we had JUST moved in to, to have our floors completely redone after they'd been ruined. Thank you Steve and Andy, for taking our house from a nightmare to a place we can now call home. If you're looking for a trustworthy concrete flooring business, look no further than Just Concrete Floors! *fast forward to May, 2016* So this should be a 5-star review, based on what you've read so far, right? This update is to say that things have changed with this company in recent months. -1 star for communication: When a new patio door installation caused minor damage to our interior floor, we naturally called on Just Concrete to do the repair. It wasn't an emergency, so we were patient to have them come to do the repair... but got a run-around for over 2 months before someone came to our house to do the job. -1 star for integrity: When the "repair" finally occurred, we were told they would come back to finish what was started "the next day". A mess was left, and e-mails and texts were ignored for a week. What's worse - I still don't understand why a repair that was 2 inches wide required tools that absolutely scraped up a 4-foot-by-8-foot area of flooring in our master bedroom... we've waxed it several times, but a whole lot of scraping is, and sadly forever will be, visible. Why come to do the repair if you don't know what you're doing? Two months of waiting... wasted. In their defense, we've received two attempts at follow-up communication since this occurred, but we took the matter back into our own hands and called someone else to finish the job. This makes me so sad... such nice people with, I believe, good intentions. However, there's been a shift in leadership/staffing that has changed things significantly. Proceed with caution. read more

I had purchased the wrong material at Home Depot to stain my floor and after rolling it on I came to find out that it was not the right product. True stain is acid stain- now I know! I called Andy at Austin Concrete Floors and he put me at ease, told me what to do to get the old stain off and said he'd come over the weekend to save me and for a FRACTION of the cost I had been quoted by another company. Andy is affordable, friendly, personable and really makes a concerted effort to be sure you are happy with the end result. We'll definitely be using him for all our concrete needs. read more

I owe Andy this review as of a few months back since he finished the job on time in budget and at a good price. We recently bought a house dated 1992 and it had the original carpet upstairs and down we removed because of allergies, asthma, and the cats that used to live in this house. Needless to say we tore all that out and did concrete floors downstairs and put in bamboo upstairs as installed by a friend of Andy's at his recommendation. We were ok with Andy's recommendation primarily because he did such a beautiful job on our first floor. Initially we spoke with Andy quite a lot and he was not short or annoyed with us at any point, yes we bugged him a lot. I would note that when color choice time came around we all found it best that I'd gone out and found a tile sample of the color we wanted, verbal descriptions are rough. Andy has sample sheets of colors but I think the tile sample gives you a better feel for it. Andy matched it almost exactly! What I find best about a concrete floor is that it's REALLY nice to walk around barefoot on in the heat of the summer as it stays cool, it's super easy to clean. The surface itself retains some of the hand made look as it's not a mirror flat but a more high gloss liquid look left by the gesture of the trowel spreading, it's very subtle though and has an organic stone look to it. The down side is if you drop something made of glass it's just like dropping it on your tile floors. Also we had the benefit of having most of our stuff in boxes when we moved in and all the dust the process kicks up everywhere, cover your stuff or even move it out. So being careful with dropping things on it, and a good cleaning later all is great. Thanks Andy you rock! read more

Stay away from Just Concrete Floors. Total nightmare experience. We got a quote to do polished concrete floors in our duplex. It was supposed to take 3 days. The first day went okay, but then everything went wrong after that. Communication with the company was always difficult and unprofessional. We checked up on how the job was going on the second and third day. The job was NOT done by the third day and we noticed a few issues. After multiple phone calls and texts we connected with them to ask them to address the following. (Spoiler alert: none of them were addressed.) * They left holes in the concrete and many unfinished/unpolished spots and edges. They filled SOME of them with white filler (that didn't match the rest of the floor) on the last day but did not polish them. * Gone missing: an iPod, stereo, tool kit, hammer, and channel locks. They stolen by the employees * They filled our garbage can with concrete dust. It was too heavy for the garbage truck to take away so we had to empty it by hand into individual trash bags, which are now sitting in our backyard and we have to take them to the dump ourselves, which is a huge inconvenience and extra cost. * During the course of the job, they used all of our contractor garbage bags instead of bringing their own, then we had no garbage bags at the house and I had to buy more. * They left trash around the house, including soda bottles and cans in our toilet tank. Their equipment disappeared a couple of days later without any notice (despite the fact that we asked them to call us when the job was done). We called them multiple times asking them to come back and complete the issues that we had discussed. A few days later, we received one or two passive texts saying someone was trying to get in touch with us (no one ever did). Then they invoiced us saying the job was complete. Update: The owner has since reached out to me saying that they have let go of all of the people involved with my project, but for me, it's too little too late. Hire them at your own risk. read more

My company contracted Just Concrete Floors to redo the floors in our office lobby and restrooms. The owner, Steve Creasy, made us promises he couldn't keep and lead us down a road of misery. We initially only wanted our floors done but Steve said he wouldn't accept the job unless he could also do the tile work, so we agreed to that. He gave us a timeline of two weeks to complete and said he would make sure to have ample crew. During what turned out to be a two-month job we encountered several un-remedied mistakes. His crew was usually only himself and sometimes another person. His reasoning for not supplying adequate manpower was that the laborers he used were afraid of being deported. Steve's poor time management caused the rest of our project to be thrown off track by many weeks. We had other trades like countertops, cabinets, and painting that couldn't perform their work because he wasn't finished in the amount of time he scheduled. More than unmet promises, there was the quality of the work. In one of our upstairs restrooms, when demoing the fixtures (counters, stalls, etc.), he failed to remove the large mirror that was supported only by the countertops and the glue on the wall. While pouring the concrete, somehow some of it seeped through the floor and the downstairs ceiling landing on the floor of the room below. Days later, after the floors were poured and dry, the mirror came crashing down, doing a great deal of damage to the concrete floor he just finished. He promised to fix it but never did. After all of the issues we'd been having, including unprofessional conversations with some of our employees about hating this job, we sat down with him and the president of our company to reestablish our expectations going forward. Upon leaving the meeting and apparently disturbed, Steve accosted a woman on our renovation team and threatened her, prompting another man on the team to follow him outside and confront him. We allowed him to come back to finish the job but after a few days of missed expectations he ultimately quit with no communication to us. If Steve is still in business, it is in your best interest to avoid working with him as it will only bring intense frustration to your life. read more

Just Concrete Floors - Flooring Near Me

Steve creasy is an absolute jackass. DO NOT HIRE HIM. He did the initial stain on my new build and was told there were spots that need touch up, which he said wouldn't be a problem. When it came down to it, he ghosted my builder and is completely MIA after 3 weeks. read more

Floors look great - BUT, not without a few hiccups... We hired Steve and Andy @ Just Concrete a week before we moved into our new home. We had gross/old tile that needed an update so we figured let's do it before we move in. Talked to Steve and he estimated that he could get it all done (demo, removal, stain and seal) in one day. So we booked! However, here's what happened: *The job actually took 2.5 days, narrowly finishing minutes before my movers showed up *I asked explicitly that the upstairs be taped off to avoid dust everywhere - they didn't tape it off and my entire (clean) house was covered in dust from the demo *Andy promised that he would hire cleaners, on his dime, to wipe down the house before I moved in - that never happened. (If it did, they did a horrible half ass job) *There was a TON of bonding agent (blue gunk) ALL over my baseboards, toilets, sinks, doors The lowdown and my advice: *The floors turned out great. It's a rental so we weren't super picky on the complete finish of it. I have a feeling the job was rushed because there WAS a deadline and there ended up being tiny bubbles/holes in the finished product. That being said, I'm super glad we did this before we moved in. *I would HIGHLY suggest (if you are a clean freak like me) that you leave time and $ to hire a professional cleaning service after these guys leave (if they are doing demo work). The dust was more than I bargained for and I'm STILL trying to get the blue gunk off. Overall, we are happy with the finished product and the overall service - I guess I wasn't prepared for how much of a mess a demo can be. From now on, we will make sure to hire professional cleaners after any demo work. Andy and his team are good at what they do - and I would recommend them to anyone in town. read more

It's taken me a year to finally get around to this review. We bought a new house last summer, and started calling around to get quotes on stained concrete floors. My wife eventually called Andy and he came over to the house that day. He brought his iPad and we were able to see examples of his previous work. Andy was very professional yet relaxed, and was flexible with his pricing - we offered to remove and dispose of the carpet and linoleum tile for a lower price. When Andy and his team arrived, we hadn't removed all the linoleum. They took care of the rest at no extra charge. The job was finished on time, and looks great! Everyone that comes over immediately has floor envy. I would definitely call Andy again. read more

DO NOT HIRE STEVE CREASY. I hired hired him to refinish my concrete floors and stain my stairs. Paid him half the money up front. He did a substandard job on the floors, absolutely ruined the stairs, got stain all over my walls and floors and then disappeared before the job was complete. He refuses to return my calls and texts. This man is a fraud and a thief and doesn't know what he's doing when it comes to the craft. Whatever you do, don't hire him. read more

Andy's Concrete Floors is the real deal. In 35 years of owning a home, I've had only 2 nightmare scenarios. One, in the early '90s, involved bricks popping out of a fireplace as we leveled the floor. The second was this past year, and again involving a floor. Ten years ago, we moved to a mid-rise condominium with a balcony door that opens into the living room, the main focal point of the condo. A few years later, we put hardwood over the concrete floors, but ever since, the balcony door has not sealed properly. In August (2013), it got to the point where wind whistled through the door. Time to fix it. Fortunately, we found a contractor to do this small job. Stupidly, I paid the guy upfront. He and his workers made a 3.5' x 3.5' cutout and laid the new concrete. Strangely, a few holes began to appear, but they said not to worry and left for the day for it to dry. Next day, they were surprised to see about 100 holes. They ground down the floor again, laid more concrete and left for the day. I emailed the owner that even more holes appeared overnight. That's when the crew disappeared, wouldn't return phone calls or emails. Hopeless. Three months later, in November, I decided no situation was without hope and called about 12 concrete outfits in Austin and the surrounding areas. Every one of them told me they weren't interested in a half-finished 3.5' x 3.5' job. Then a nice lady at one of the companies listened to my story and said she had a guy who owed her a favor who she would ask to finish the job. Thankfully, he showed up. Faces pressed to the floor, I showed him how much space he had between the bottom of the balcony door and the floor he would lay. He ground away, with frequent stops for phone calls and text messages, always followed by "I don't have time for this." He had a shop-vac on the balcony, and for some reason, he opened the shop-vac while it was running. A cloud of white concrete dust settled onto my balcony plants, which can't be sprayed off with a hose (no hoses allowed). He seemed oblivious to the problem he had created. "I could finish today," he said," but I need to go and will come back tomorrow." His concrete paraphernalia resided out on the balcony for two weeks before he returned. But hey, he came back! He wasn't happy with the 100 holes that appeared in his floor overnight (two weeks before). He ground down the floor and laid it again, with the balcony door open. Just as we were admiring how nice and level it looked, in slow motion he closed the balcony door, thus making a two-foot long, half-moon gash in the wet concrete. We just looked at each other. He texted me and said he'd found the perfect surface to lay: a micro-topping. Whatever it was, I didn't care; he said it would work. He came out, ground down the floor, this time with his shop-vac in the living room. Hearing the guy say, "Oops," I looked up from washing the dishes to see a thick cloud of fine, white dust in the living room. When it settled a little, I could make out the figure of the oblivious worker. He laid the micro-topping and put some sort of sealer on it. The next day, I had a concrete-colored, dull floor with only a few holes in it, but anything and everything that touched it left a mark. I didn't wanna call him out again. Six months later, a designer friend gasped when she saw the cutout and told me to try Andy's Concrete Floors. The size of the job gave him pause, but when I told him what all we'd been through, he took pity. That very day Andy McDell and Abel López came out to my place, sanded down the topping, sprayed it with a beautiful stain color and waxed it high-gloss. It took less than a half-hour. I had given up hope that the god-forsaken 3.5" x 3.5" eyesore in the focal point of my place would ever be fixed, but then Andy showed up. Cutouts aren't pretty, but this one is gorgeous. Thank you, Andy!! read more

Beware: 10/10/2016, Do your home work. The floors were ruined, he left footprints and uneven coloration throughout. He ruined the baseboards with concrete and stain that could not be removed and they all had to be replaced because the job was rushed. We never heard from him again after he received his money and he requested to be paid in cash. He left all the old flooring debris on the patio for us to deal with. Andy did my floors almost a year ago now (sorry about taking so long to write a review), and they still look great. He came over and talked about the process then took some measurements and gave me a quote. I called a couple other places and Andy had the best price. He came over with a couple guys and scuffed up the original concrete, then put an adhesive down and poured the self leveling overlay. The overlay had to dry overnight. The next morning they showed up and scored the border we decided on then buffed the overlay to a smooth finish. Then he brought me outside and started mixing some stains until we got the color we wanted. He sprayed the stain on and it had to dry overnight. The next day he came over, but the stain hadn't finished drying yet due to rain and humidity. So, he put some fans on it and said he'd be back after lunch. He came back and decided to go ahead and seal and wax the floors. That would be the only time there was any problems because the stain wasn't completely dry at that time. But he fixed any spots the sealant didn't "seal." The floor looks great, and is extremely easy to clean. Andy definitely delivers what he says he can, I would recommend him to anyone that wants new floors. read more

My wife and I contracted Andy to do our floors as part of an entire remodel of our home in Barton Hills in Spring of 2014. We got bids for both hardwood and concrete floors from several companies, but in the end we decided to go with a new concrete overlay for our entire house plus our back patio--about 2000 square feet total. We were going for a modern style and the concrete overlay gave us that modern look, along with durability, convenience of cleaning, and a great price. Andy was on time to meet us and gave us a quote in writing on the spot. His price was very competitive and he also offered to show us a nearby job he was doing so we could get a feel for the quality of the work. We liked it, so we went with him. When it came time to schedule the work, our general contractor gave Andy very short notice but Andy was accommodating and was able to get us on his schedule despite the short notice. As our home was built in the 1970's, the floors were far from level to start with, so much so that after the overlay was poured there were a few areas that needed leveling out. Andy readily acknowledged this, and explained that the only way to fix it was to re-pour the entire job, which they did. I was truly impressed by his commitment to quality. The re-pour took a few extra days, but Andy kept me informed and did everything he said he was going to do when he promised to do it. In the end the floors came out as we had agreed upon, for the agreed upon price. They look absolutely fantastic. I can also say that we worked with a lot of contractors during various stages of our remodel, and Andy was by far the easiest one to work with. He's a straight shooter who understands customer service, and he's a pretty nice guy to boot. My wife and I both really liked working with him and we would definitely hire him again. read more

We recently put in an outdoor kitchen and expanded our outdoor concrete flooring. The outcome of the original concrete work left a lot to be desired, so we contacted Andy. He came over the same day that we called and gave us an estimate on options to either stain the existing concrete flooring or to re-surface the area and stain it. We went with option #2. Andy and his crew resurfaced the existing concrete surface and stained the area, leaving us with a much more professional and aesthetically pleasing end-product than we started with. Andy and his crew were fast, professional and delivered what he said he would in two days, as promised, and at the price that he had quoted to us. A small area of the concrete flooring picked up a little more dye than we liked, and Andy came over the next day and adjusted the stain in that particular area. Whereas once we were considering a tile or wood flooring 'makeover' throughout our house, we are now considering entirely concrete. If that's the decision we ultimately make, Andy will get our business. Give him a call. We're happy with his work. read more

Steve's preparation on our floor resurfacing was disastrous to us. He left our home without checking in and disappeared into thin air when we tried to get his assistance to bring to our satisfaction. Just a bad deal with how he chose to close our project. read more

I cannot stress how much you SHOULD NOT use Just Concrete Floors. I would give no stars if I could. Their work was so sub-par it doesn't even rate a single star. Steve's initial quote said the project would be 1-2 days. He did not start the job on the day he promised and failed in every other way imaginable. After one month, the project was still far from being completed and he stopped answering calls. The color is nothing close to the color selected. The "antiquing" looks more like somebody just spilled paint on it, and has stains and run marks down the edges of the steps. When they finally got around to sealing the surface, the sealant is extremely slippery when wet. I specifically asked if it would be non-slip and Steve said it would be. Now it is an unsafe surface to have around a pool. The texture is sloppy, uneven, and looks patched together. There are globs of dried concrete on the surface, creating a tripping hazard. There is concrete material over the pool coping, skimmer covers and umbrella holders and along the door trim. There are footprints in the surface. The patio is in worse condition than before they started, and the entire surface needs to be redone. I cannot imagine how they can still be in business. The companies that have had come out to quote the rework cannot believe their eyes. They say this is the worst job they have ever come across in the careers. They actually take pictures because it is so bad. read more

I called ACF at 5, and at 8 that eve, Andy came by. I explained that we had a faucet break in the downstairs, and a flood had ruined a carpet in one room, a storage area, so we needed the carpet pulled up and the concrete underneath stained and sealed, and the rest of the downstairs floor, which was already stained concrete, needed resealing. He started to describe how we would need to pull everything out, living and dining room furniture, and when he saw my face, he said, here's another suggestion. And he proceeded to tell me to just pull out the carpet ourselves, paint the concrete a color that somewhat matches the floor in the adjoining room, and put a coat or two of Mop n Glo on all the floorings, old and newly stained. I felt relieved because with everything else we need to do, the drywall patching, painting, water-damaged kitchen cabinets pulled out and replaced, Andy gave me a solution that was doable and cost-effective, a big concern as it doesn't sound like my insurance company wants to cover all that needs to be done. So, ACF didn't really perform their usual service for us, but I appreciate their advice and willingness to help. That says a lot in today's business climate. Oh, and Andy didn't charge me a cent for coming out! read more

I'm reviewing for the non-profit I work with. We rented a space in an old strip mall. The previous tenant experienced some water damage so pulled up all the carpet. The concrete floors were covered with glue and pock marks. We needed to get into our space quickly and Just Concrete Floors came in with a bid then worked us into their schedule so we could occupy as fast as possible. The floors turned out to be harder to sand they thought so they quickly changed our finish to an overlay which is more expensive. They honored their original bid which is unbelievable. Like I said, we are a non-profit so money is always an issue. We really appreciated their fast, no-nonsense approach. Our grey floors are beautiful! read more

Andy did some AMAZING work! He did the job quickly (2 days) and the results were fantastic. I would absolutely use him again and would recommend him highly to others. read more

Lost us TWO MONTHS of rents through delay after delay AND did a terrible job, not patching holes, not applying enough sealer, and not even scraping up loose carpet glue that I popped off with a putty knife. You'd think he had never seen a concrete floor that needed re-finishing after a carpet had been removed. A two-day job ("three at the most") took MONTHS because he never came back when he said he would. Excuse after excuse; apology after apology. But no action, and no mitigation of the damages. The mess and delays kept out the painters, plumbers, and tile guys for week after week. After losing 2 months rent, we finally went ahead without the floors being finished. Even then, Steve promised to come back to fix the problems. Steve, you still owe us a floor. Steve might be a wonderful friend, with lots of stories and a very personable manner, but as a contractor or professional craftsman, he is one of the worst I have ever met, and easily the most detrimental to my business. If you hire Steve, DO NOT PAY ANYTHING until the job is completely done to your satisfaction, and establish a penalty for delays. If he won't agree to those terms, you'll know why. read more
