I am a local interior designer and recently used Lakeway Floors for a job. They ordered the wrong color floors for the job, blamed it on the client not catching it in the invoice and then tried to convince me to keep the incorrect floors. I asked several times for a call with the owner, my requests went unanswered for a week. When I finally got on the phone with the owner he, again, pushed responsibility on the client, he raised his voice at me, he was sarcastic, he was defensive and he was condescending. Prior work on a 45 million dollar house was then thrown in my face as a way to justify their capabilities to install flooring. I never insinuated they couldn't lay a good product, I had an issue with the customer service. There is no reason grown men should be behaving this way. I have worked with many, many vendors and this is the exact behavior you want to RUN from when there is an issue. The reality is mistakes happen, especially in this industry, more often than not. It's how the mistake is handled that is important. The business owner should get curious about the complaint and take the bad experience as a learning of what not to do on the next job. There is no reason to be hostile during a conversation about a mistake the business owner's team had made. And there is certainly no reason to blame it on the paying customer. I'd highly recommend looking elsewhere for your flooring needs. Edited to add I am the one who hired Lakeway Floors, aside from signing the contract, I was the primary point of contact. My client hired me because they don't know anything about replacing floors, they leaned on my expertise. Regardless of being the main point of contact, my client didn't want to be involved as she couldn't answer the questions Lakeway Floors was asking, they tried to push me out of all communications. This makes me believe they want to deal with someone who doesn't understand the process and what should be expected so they can easily gaslight them which is what they did to her. They told me SHE was to blame for signing off on the wrong invoice they compiled and sent her. Also important to add she is more furious about this experience than I am. read more

Lakeway Floors did an Outstanding job installing wood on our stairs, hallway and family room, as well as carpet in our bedrooms. The owner came to our house to discuss our options and take measurements. Both installation crews were great. The wood installers did a high quality install, the wood stairs and floors look great, the attention to detail on steps, the edges was great. The carpet crew, a different crew, also did a great high quality job. I would recommend Lakeway Floors to anyone. read more

Rare for me write reviews. Lakeway Floors got my business because I was able to find carpet that I really liked. They'll keep my business because they extended respect and fairness. Everything went well, except one piece of carpet had a flaw from the manufacturer. Lakeway Floors stood by their work and replaced it. They were exceptionally kind and patient as we waited for Covid to abate a bit before installing the replacement piece. They finished the installation with flying colors and ethically stood behind their product and services like everyone expects a business to do. I would recommend this business and when I need flooring again, I would turn to Lakeway Floors. read more

We had Carlton and his crew install hardwoods throughout our house in Lakeway. This required removing some old hardwoods and sanding and leveling the floors. His bid to do this work was very reasonable; his crew showed up when he said they would and they stayed until it was completed and were very professional. We are extremely happy with the results. This is our second time in approximately 12 years to use Carton and Lakeway Floors and he consistently performs above expectations. We would not consider using anyone else! read more

They installed the carpet in our new home two years ago and after just 18 months it needed to be stretched in several places and shreds. They did come out and stretch the carpet in our bedroom (but not before telling me they're doing us favor and would normally have to charge us so they'll get to it when it's convenient for them) but now that I need them to come back to stretch the carpet in our master closet they won't return my calls. At first I was told they would get someone to my house when they had someone in the area and I was fine with that, however, that was two months & several calls ago. I guess they're never in our area. Now they won't return my calls. Additionally, our carpet continues to shred and each spot that meets hard flooring makes a crinkly sound as if there is no padding. This I find especially frustrating since we paid for the thicker padding and there feels to be not much padding at all. I felt better padding at the apartment we lived in while our house was being built. Let me not forget to mention that they had to redo the specialty tile in one of our bathrooms 3 times before they got it right because they either used the wrong stone, color of grout, or both. There tag line is "Whatever you imagine, we can do it". Well, I imagine getting quality workmanship and products when I pay for it and for my carpet to last longer than two years. Let's see if they stand behind their online statement of, "..In other words--quality and attention to detail with good old fashion service." If they make good, I'll let you know. If you don't see an updated posting from me, they didn't stand behind their quality. 12/28/15 Update: I don't understand how my builder ordering the carpet has anything to do with the quality or workmanship of it but Lakeway Floor's came out to stretch my carpet within two weeks after my post. read more

Eric Oler was so disrespectful to my mom he threw my mothers card to the floor because she asked for a refund. The only reason she did was because he didn't explain that she had to pick up the material at a different location he claims that he explained that. But when I called he said himself he didn't explain but he would email me the information, he didn't even do that. Anyways throwing my moms card on the floor is just so disrespectful we didn't go in their with any disrespect so just because we are Hispanics we don't deserve that kind of treatment. We have never been disrespected in any place here in lakeway. I just want you all to know the kind of person he is. Don't bother to go there. He doesn't even deserve a star! Adding: They didn't want to wait because both my parents explained they wanted something fast and you said the latest was Tuesday, but didn't talk about picking it up at the Austin place. My parents didn't offend you in any way though. Yes we got the refund im not denying that, but YOU threw my moms card to the floor instead of giving it back nicely. Thats the issue. We had Lakeway Floors replace the contractor carpet in our master bedroom and walk-in closets as well as the tile in the master bathroom. Carlton and his team were exceptional. We initially took a few samples home and decided that they were not quite the right color. We called the office and Carlton immediately suggested another tile. It was the perfect color. His estimate was right on and he kept us informed of what was happening with the process. His installers are excellent and the tile looks perfect. He even came by to make sure the job was done to his satisfaction. read more

He was incredibly helpful and more knowledgeable than any other carpet store I went to. He also had an eye for color and helped me choose what would look good in our space. As far as price, they came in at the best price for the specific carpet I went with. He steered me toward the carpet that would fit my home, family and lifestyle. I went into the store and talked to two people, both of whom seemed very nice. I think it was the owner who helped me with flooring choices and offered to come to my home to give me an estimate to replace my saltillo tile with wood floors. He showed up and measured everything, but he never sent me a quote. I even called days later to ask about the quote, and he never called me back. Terrible service. read more
