We had a terrible experience as a group. We had several openings at our table but the hostess kept members of our party from coming up because they said we didn't have room. 3 people of our group left and all individually said that the hostess was so rude they didn't want to be there any longer to figure it out. When I came down the elevator to address the situation the hostess stormed off through the front door. The manager tried - she was very kind but the damage was already done. I would have expected them to offer some sort of discount off our $350 bill or a response to my email. read more

If you like touristy hotel food, you will love this place!! Do you have a question for them? Try calling them. They won't pick up. Basically an Applebees on the roof. If you search Rainforest Cafe, Juniper immediately comes up. That should tell you everything you need to know. read more

Wonderful ambience and drink selection!!! Service was wonderful! Bread is awesome as well! read more

Juniper - Risk it for Hibiscus - New American Near Me - Greenville, South Carolina

I work downtown Greenville right across all the new hotel construction and I was very eager to have a seat at Juniper. I was not disappointed. It was absolutely beautiful. Not only was it beautiful, but the service was super friendly and polite. The food was exquisite. The views were breathtaking. If you're in town, I recommend. Definitely worth another visit! read more

Music was too loud to talk across the table and the staff refused to turn it down. Food was inconsequential. Staff was aggressive about making sure you were allowed to be in the restaurant to get the "experience". Drinks were the sole high point. read more

atmosphere - 5 Appetizers - 4 Drinks - 4 (good bourbon selection) Service - 4 food - 3 The food was good, but not great. Dishes lacked exceptional qualities. At the prices, the meal should be outstanding and memorable. Atmosphere makes up for an average meal. Yucca fries are a must. Guests will be impressed with the view. The meal, not so much but still good. I'd go back for drinks and apps. read more

The food was amazing! The ambiance is incredible with great a great singer and violinist when we were there, and our server Zeph was phenomenal! read more

Like others have stated, this is a place to be seen and photographed. We arrived 15 minutes early for a 7:30 Friday reservation. Told the bar was full and to wait downstairs for our table to be ready. Once sent up, the place was probably half full, bar included. No biggie. The service was friendly and attentive. The menu is painfully short and random. Food was nothing special on its best day. The plates are an annoying shape and size that make it difficult to eat without getting messy. The worst bite was the focaccia bread. It was an overworked, overdry, underseasoned bread. Our server said we must have gotten a "bad" one, but they were out for the night. When there's so few dishes to order, this felt like a major blow. The entertainment was so bazaar, but I enjoyed the music performed. read more

We have been to Juniper a few times. Great atmosphere, but mixed reviews for us. My wife scheduled a reservation 3 weeks in advance for her birthday for 8 of our friends. We were super excited and looking forward to a great evening. We arrived for the evening and were told that our reservation (which we had to schedule 3 weeks in advance) had been canceled. Obviously, we felt like their was an error and asked them to look into it because we obviously had not canceled the reservation to bring our friends and party there to be turned away at the door. We politely asked the hostess to look into it further and see if they could accommodate us, and we were told NO. Not exactly empathetic and definitely didn't try to resolve and issue. I will stop here to not voice my true frustration. read more

We went here for dinner which I don't recommend. This place had a nice atmosphere but if you seated in a unfavorable location, I suggest asking to be reseated. The service was great and really knew the menu. The drinks were good. To just hang out and have a few drinks the place would be nice. read more

I was wearing a short sleeve button down, khaki shorts, and Birkenstock's and was denied entry because they don't allow open toed shoes for men only, which is sexist. The girl ahead of me went in with a t shirt and pink crocs. I will never be back. read more

Absolutely amazing place. Roof top, floral setting, performers everywhere. Its a whole experience!! Menu is limited but delicious. We went to celebrate my wife birthday and it was a home run! We had several family members in town from out of state, and we knew we wanted to take them to Juniper. We talked up Juniper, and we got everyone excited about going. I'm truly embarrassed we wasted their time taking them there. The atmosphere, location, entertainment, and ambiance were all amazing. Assuming the bartenders math was correct (never got a tab/receipt), drinks were expensive ($130 for 7 drinks - 1 mocktail, 1 glass of wine, and 5 cocktails), but at least they were tasty. The service was atrocious from start to finish. Before we left, we asked to speak with a Manager, so that we could share our experience and provide some helpful feedback to the Manager. They said the Manager would be right over. We sat there for 15 minutes. The Manager never came over to speak with us. There are plenty of bars/restaurants in town where the employees will treat you like guests and offer great customer service and hospitality, so I'd recommend skipping Juniper and taking your business elsewhere. We love Marriott, and we love the AC Hotel. It's unfortunate that this is one of the restaurants/bars that is affiliated with their brand and reputation. read more

Juniper - New American Near Me - Greenville, South Carolina

I wanted to be extremely wow'd by this experience. It looks nice, seating was fast, wait staff was friendly & honest at telling me what not to order because it gets the most complaints. So she suggested a crab ravioli dish. The prices are ridiculous for portion...you are paying for the atmosphere. I spent $70 on one alcoholic drink with almost no alcohol in it, a rosemary bread appetizer and the crab ravioli. The bread is VERY good, especially with the kalmata olive & garlic remolade. The fig spread wasn't so great. The crab ravioli came to the table almost cold, barely warm. It tasted palatable at first bite. I asked for it to be taken back and heated up. It came back to the table extremely salty, as if someone poured an unimaginable amount of salt seasoning in it instead of just heating it up. It's already salty from the bacon, Alfredo sauce with parmesean and what tasted like a chicken bouillon powder base...but upon returning my entree, it was inedible. I have never in my life had to return anything at a restaurant. I paid $70 with tip only able to eat bread and 1 drink, very disappointed. If you know multiple people complain about entrees and orders, that your own waitstaff makes a face and tells you to order something else why not do better? read more

Had a 7:15 reservation and was seated right away. Atmosphere and view was nice. Waiter took our drink order and was never seen again. 45 minutes later, a waitress apologized that our previous waiter was really busy and took our drink order again. The manager even even apologized. They said our drinks would be out right away. Left at 8:15 with no drinks and no staff members paid any attention. Terrible service and experience. Never will return. read more

Juniper - Lovely - New American Near Me - Greenville, South Carolina

This was one of our first times dining IRL post vaccination so we decided to go all out. We had to make reservations a month out to get anything earlier than 10pm so with that plus all the Instagram marketing, we were pretty excited to try it. I'm not sure that all worked in our favor because ultimately, I left thinking this place is overhyped and overpriced. I'll start with the Pros. Juniper really is beautiful and has a particularly great view, especially if you're there at sunset. The decor is very cool. We were seated outside which was what we requested but we didn't know we wouldn't have a table. That was fine for our group since we weren't having dinner there but the family next to us seemed to having a hard time balancing plates of salmon on their laps. We really liked the music and the overall vibe, especially the violinist playing along with contemporary hits and our time there did feel special and exciting. A few cons, the beautiful cocktails seemed weak. Several of us remarked that they seemed like glasses of juice. They tasted good but if I'm going to pay $14-$18 (!! IN GREENVILLE, SC!), the drink better blow my freaking mind. I tried the Roses are Free, a bourbon cocktail where I couldn't taste the bourbon so I declined to order a second extremely expensive drink and switched to a glass of Cava, which was very good, cold and dry and only $10. Last con, we had checked out the dinner menu before and based on the limited & pricey options, we planned in advance to eat somewhere else but we did order the focaccia for sharing. I make bread and I have made focaccia a lot and what Juniper is serving is not actually focaccia. It is a soft, smooth white bread with none of the textural interest, crunch or signature bubbles of focaccia. It tasted nice and the spreads were really yummy but it's misnamed on the menu. I think that the cocktails represent the ultimate problem here. Everything about Juniper is made to be posted on Instagram. It photographs well and has a trendy, exciting vibe but the close up details just aren't there. The good news is these are mostly easy fixes and I'd be willing to try again to see if some of this improves with time. read more

Four for ambiance and entertainment but lacking substantially for food and service. Would go again for just drinks.

This place is definitely pretty, although some of the faux plants just look cheap and out of place... like hydrangeas don't grow naturally in one stem next to ferns and tulips. The decor is a little intrusive as my hair kept getting caught in plastic ferns at our table. Overall the aesthetic is there, but I could barely see it as we were facing the sun at our table. They were out of the 2 menu items I wanted to try at 5:15 pm. I'm not really sure how that is possible as dinner service had barely begun. With such a short menu, taking two items away really limits the food experience.... Which is grossly overpriced. We ordered a specialty drink, Caught in the Rain, which was good, and a regular vodka drink. We should have stopped at drinks but decided to try some food. Long story short, we just couldn't see spending $14 for some broccoli, so we ordered the two least expensive items from their "dinner" menu... the Philly Steak Bombs and the Chicken Tinga Taquitos. The taquitos were good. There were two. Oh, but they were cut in half to look like 4. There are no sides. So, $7 per 1 taquito. Mmkay. Our server was very sweet and helpful, but kept mentioning how great the tips are at Juniper. To me, that only means the food and drinks are expensive as most people now tip the obligatory 20%. So yes, if your food is twice as expensive, your tip will be twice as high. Makes sense, although the mention of tipping made us want to order less. We got out of there for $70 including tip, and went down the street to find food that we wanted. At the next place we got 2 beers, a salad, complimentary bread, and a whole pizza for $36, just for reference. Anyway, Juniper is for the young and/or pretentious. It's not that we can't afford it, it's just that we don't want to. If you're going for the ambiance, don't go early. You'll miss any of the entertainment and the sun will blind you. If you're going solely to impress your colleagues or friends from out of town, then this is your spot. read more

Treasure of Greenville, SC. Juniper makes you feel as if you are in the lavish night life of LA or Las Vegas. Extra ordinary ambiance, decor, & great service. Fantastic live performers. Fantastic drinks. Plethora of instagrammable aesthetic backdrops. Go-to place to bring your out of state visitors. It's truly hard to believe a place like this exists in Greenville SC -- who would've thought! read more

Was treated very poorly by the security lady up front. Immediately was extremely rude to us. It was my friends birthday dinner and she ruined the night for us. Our waitress was a mess and the food wasn't even that great. Definitely not what I expected from here. read more

To me, this is exactly the kind of place Greenville needed to elevate it. It's been here for 8 months now and is still hard to get a reservation. The service, especially if you sit at the bar and talk to the bartenders, is incredible. The ambience and vibes are wonderful. Just go in knowing it works better as a before dinner drinks and apps place or an after dinner drinks and light refreshments experience. I don't think people should go into it expecting it to be a normal dinner place and then maybe their reviews would be higher! read more

Great location, great drinks, great service. We especially liked the open patio under the heaters at the fire pits.

We had an awesome waitress, and the staff was very kind. The food was not good, and for such a small menu and prices, everything should be top notch. I enjoyed my cocktail, but for $16, 4oz of liquid is pretty sad. Pretty overrated, and hope that the luxurious experience they boast of will match the food at some point. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. Awesome concept & ambiance but the service is absolute shit. Bunch of snotty, entitled fuckboys at the bar. We waited at the host stand for 10 minutes and no one came by, so I walked up to the bar and asked dudeman if we were supposed to seat ourselves, to which he replied 'there's supposed to be a host'. I said 'well ain't nobody up here soo', he said he 'didn't know anything about that' and waved me off. Never been treated like that before in my life, wouldn't go back. read more

Not impressed. We went for Restaurant Week and found they stopped doing Restaurant Week AN HOUR AND A HALF before we showed up. I was very irritated because that's the whole reason we went. No offer to do anything to make it better. I understand that Restaurant Week is VERY busy but plan better. When we finally got our food it was subpar. My short ribs were tough and chewy. The best thing about Juniper is that they make EXCELLENT drinks. I will definitely go back for drinks, but I certainly won't eat there again. read more

Horrible. Booked reservations 1 1/2 months in advance and we were seated at an outside table on Dec 22 in below freezing temp??!!! Could not give a table of 5 indoor seating in middle of winter. First - loved the appetizers (we got the focaccia (to DIE for), broccolini (great) and cauliflower (so so). The cocktails were also great and unique. However, the vibe and the staff were terrible. We showed up at 5 pm - there were two people at the bottom of the elevator with a ROPE (like it was a hot NYC bar at midnight lol). Asked if we had reservations and we said no, but they said we could sit at the bar. We went upstairs and the restaurant was MABYE 10% full (and that is being generous). We sat at the bar - waited FOREVER for service. There were only 2 bartenders making complicated cocktails (and three hostesses standing around...). We finally got the cocktails - really good. The food came out super fast. By the time we left the restaurant was maybe 50% full. This vibe doesn't work for Greenville - but gave us a good laugh! read more

Worst brunch experience ever! Went for Mother's day. It was only our 2nd time dining here. We had gone for dinner once before and everything was great so we thought we'd give them a try for their advertised "Mother's and Moet" Mother's day brunch at $50.00 per person. Their website stated that as a "special treat" they were gifting three hand painted bottles of Moet & Chandon champagne to 3 lucky reservations attending the brunch. We walked into a lukewarm/snobbish greeting by the hostess. Once seated, we ordered cocktails at an additional cost to begin with which were very good. We asked our server about the champagne give away. She looked confused and said she knew nothing about it. We had to ask her to ask someone else. After 15 minutes she came back and said that she was told that they would be given away "at a later date". There was no signage about it when we walked in. As for brunch they sent us into another room which was very unorganized. Breakfast food tables mixed in with lunch food. People were confused on which way to go. When we went in, there were no plates available. About 20 people were all standing around waiting on them. Food was picked over pretty bad without refreshing at all and our reservations was nowhere close to closing time. Worst omelet ever. Lukewarm coffee. Very limited selections of all brunch items and for 50.00 per person not even 1 mimosa was included. Still no word on who were the lucky 3 that won the champagne bottles. My opinion is that NO ONE ever received one and it was only a ploy to get people in. I can't blame them....they need something to get people to show up for that brunch. We feel it was $100.00 down the drain. Too bad because the place is beautiful although it's very poorly managed. read more

This place is awesome! The drinks were great, service was on point, and you can't beat the atmosphere. I will say it is on the pricey side and I can't really say the cocktails were worth what you pay for them but I think the service and atmosphere make it all worth it. If the prices do come down in the future I think this place would be perfect. Looking forward to coming back another time to try other menu items. read more

I'm loving this boujie new cocktail bar that specializes in gin! The ambiance alone makes Juniper worth the visit. The views are superb, and they took their time creating what feels like the Garden of Eden. We went around 5, so it felt like we were having brunch in a garden. I would love to visit Juniper in the evening so that I can see what the night vibe is like. Juniper has creative, exceptional cocktails and a good variety of drink options beyond just gin. I tried Rich Girl and All She Wrote, which were both delicious, and I can't wait to try others! We also tried a variety of food options, which were all good but somewhat overpriced. Service was great. Our server was very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful, and food and drinks came out quick. We didn't have to wait for anything. I would highly recommend Juniper for drinks, although maybe not dinner. It would be a great spot for cocktails after work or before dinner. Honestly, if I could leave 0 starts I would. I was planning on going with my husband for just a quick drink after dinner bc I heard it was cute and they said we couldn't go in bc he was wearing open toed shoes. Literally open toed Dior sandals. It's not like we were dressed like homeless people. He was in a button down and nice pants and I had on a Ted Baker romper and gucci heels. Like maybe before telling people the dress code is "guys can't have open shoes" you should tell your staff to wear nicer clothes that didn't look like it came from the clearance rack at kohls. read more

The atmosphere is extremely fun and the vibe is super cool. It is definitely a lively hip place. Our focaccia appetizer had barely arrived (srsly, we had just started pulling the bread apart) when our entrees touched down, so neither could be savored while hot. Our server was attentive but didn't seem aware of the empty plates / glasses cluttering our tiny table and didn't ever take any of them away. The food runner was remarkably condescending when she delivered the bread (my guest asked for app plates, and food runner made a face and only stared pointedly at the weird little ovals on the table like we should have known). The spreads for the focaccia were tasty. The wine was nice, the martini was superb. The seafood pasta was overpriced and underwhelming. Throughout the evening, a scantily-clad young woman in several different (odd) costumes moved around the dining area, dancing and "performing"... not sure what that about (enhancing the atmosphere?). I'll say it was "an interesting dining experience," but there was nothing compelling enough to bring me back. read more

Def the absolute worst customer service experience we have received at any establishment in downtown Greenville. The table area is so bright that it resembles an operating room. Doesn't go with the atmosphere. If you stand up away from the bright lights, they send a fire marshall over to tell you to sit down. We left, most of our party didn't order drinks, we could have easily spent hours drinking there. Takes forever to get a callback. read more
