Did not have a reservation so there was about an hour wait but this place is pretty awesome! Wifey and I enjoyed a lovely date night with great tasting cocktails (amazing gin options) and a front row seat to the live DJ. She was absolutely fantastic with her songs selections! read more

There are many new places opening downtown Greenville, but Juniper has stood out to me. Juniper is a rooftop bar and restaurant located on top of AC Hotel. They are particularly known for large events and a wide variety of Gin. Not to mention their location is impeccable, Juniper is located within the Camperdown Plaza. Camperdown Plaza is a fairly new place within downtown Greenville, and it continues to grow day to day. In addition, they have an Insomnia Cookies, Starbucks, Social Burger, and Camp Modern American Eatery. Also, these services are all surrounding a stage that is used quite often. There have been a wide variety of events there all the way from yoga in the morning to bands at night. Camperdown Plaza accommodates some of the nicest new places in downtown Greenville and is well worth a visit. Note: This was done for a writing class. I have never been to Juniper! read more

Went to Juniper for a birthday, which I made the reservation for. When we arrived, we were told that other individuals had already checked in for the reservation and they hesitated to let us in. It was my parents. The food came out inconsistently. When I say inconsistent, 20 minutes between first courses being delivered amongst the group. Wouldn't allow us to order the butternut squash as a side because it wasn't a side option with that specific platter. Delivered potatoes after all our plates were cleared. Overall, good scenes. Food is bland. Service questionable. Overpriced. Many better options in Greenville. read more

Went for dinner saturday night and had an absolute blast. from the live entertainment to rebecca being such a fun server she educated us on the juniper berry with gin and vodka and thought that was super cool!! will be back soon!! read more

We came here for my girlfriends birthday dinner. I'll start by saying this is my first review ever and nowhere has been this disappointing sadly to say. The environment is definitely a 4, weird but unique. Service was a 3/5, server was not exactly the most attentive and had to grab her attention for our order after 30 minutes of sitting. Food was 2/5. The menu is very small but understandable for changing menu monthly. We both ordered steak. We ordered them medium rare and medium well and both were well done and tough. At best a 8 oz steak for $39. They come with finger potatoes and got maybe 6 halves all together and honestly left still hungry. Overall the meal was underwhelming and overpriced. Would understand coming for just drinks but never again for dinner sadly. Hopefully others have a better experience than ours read more

I am glad Greenville has two new restaurants, not affiliated, but located in the AC Hotel. I have now visited Juniper restaurant three times in the month of May. It is interesting! The decor is mostly plastic and silk floral decor; like my deceased poor Great Aunt's home. Distasteful and gauche! I have ordered several different menu items only to be disappointed by the lack of flavor and content. The service was pleasant and the view spectacular! read more

Our server Sarah was the bomb. Cocktails amazing, focaccia bread too, a beautiful interior and view, and A completely lovely experience all around. Everyone was so kind from the second we walked in the door to the walk out to the car. I 10/10 recommend! read more

I'm so happy to hear that Juniper is finally opening!! Best views of downtown Greenville and delicious cocktails! Definitely a MUST in Greenville! read more

Ambiance is great. My wife loved it. Started off well. Appetizers were good for the most part. She had the shrimp which were great. I got the mussels, flavor was good but they were overcooked. I got the Cajun chicken dish and the rice was way overcooked and the chicken was rubbery and undercooked. Sausage is just large chunks. Absolutely zero flavor. Desert was underwhelming as well. Wife got the chocolate cake which she liked, I got the cannolis and they were terrible. Dough was hard and filling taste like raw sugar. My wife is pregnant so she got a virgin drink which she liked. I got a rum version of the version kiwi drink, and it was by far the best thing throughout the entire meal. Service was definitely lacking. Server was extremely unattended, and seemed to not care at all that the food wasn't good or even edible in some cases. It took 75 minutes for us to get the bill after sending my entrée back. Two hours and $115 later, for a virgin drink and alcoholic drink, and two appetizers in essence, we will sadly never be going back. It is very unfortunate because my wife has looked forward to eating here for two years and we are frequent AC guests. If you only care about Instagram stories and good drinks, this is the place for you, but please don't take first dates or anyone here for food because they will be extremely disappointed. read more

Atmosphere is the only thing this place has going for it. The food was ok but I strongly do NOT recommend for New Year's Eve as they are misleading in their advertising. Their "Open Bar" should have said LIMITED Open Bar. 1 type of vodka, tequila, whiskey...3 or 4 beer choices and you could only do one liquor with one mixer. Not to mention the quality of the liquor they did have to choose from was also sub par. Severely disappointed and honestly after this experience I don't care about ever going back, Greenville has way too many better options than to revisit Juniper. read more

Interesting atmosphere , but over priced and underwhelming food. My suggestion, go for 1 drink , maybe an app then head somewhere else.

Party of 2, we had an 8:30pm reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We are gin lovers and so excited for a gin bar opening here. Being opening night we expected it to be busy. We were seated quickly. However, were asked no less than 5 times on our way to our table if we had a reservations. We hoped to try a new gin, since this is Juniper a GIN bar. The list of spirits had everything except a list of GINS! There were a handful of Gin based drinks listed. We ordered and waited and waited and waited. People seated after us received their food and drinks. People were walking up to the bar and receiving drinks. We waited.....50 minutes later and still no drinks, so we left. It seems this bar has a target demographic of 20 somethings and we didn't fit into that box. The music was insanely loud. There is a time limit for your experience. Horrible execution of the business plan, if you allow and hour and 15 mins per table and it takes over an hour to get ONE drink per person, you will go under. We let the hostess know we were leaving without any libations. The response we received was thank you for letting you know. Monumental Disappointment! read more

Such a millennial vibe! The ultimate rooftop experience. A bit pricey, wish the menu had more items. Drinks were OK. Ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower, Chicken Tinga Taquitos, Yuca Fries and "In the 90s Drink". Food was superb (quite better than I expected). read more

Such a fun surprise, and a wow factor as soon as the elevator doors open. Join for dinner stay for drinks and entertainers. The staff are attendant and the ballroom next door is beautiful. read more

This place has amazing decor and wonderful drink mixology, but the food is nasty. I would go there again for drinks but the food is on parr with Apple Bee's at high end prices. I was with 3 ladies. none of us liked the food. in fact, I sent my entire short rib plate back. how do you mess up short ribs? If you eat here you will be disappointed and pay a high price for it. Have drinks here and eat as. Camp American Eatery downstairs. The prices are the same but their chef is from the French Laundr. read more

You feel like you are in NYC !! This place has charm , great drinks , music and atmosphere. The menu needs to be updated , more meal options and variety !! I just like to go for drinks here or to show a visitor the beautiful View of Downtown Gville but I never stay for a meal .I really wish they would enhance this menu read more

Service is low for the price point. Labor is tight, but comparable high dollar establishments tend to adapt instead of beginning the experience with excuses like our waitress. 40 min for 6 drinks is too long read more

This place is fun and very lively. We were entertained by a singer and a dressed up "Carmen Miranda" with fruit headgear and all. My wife ordered a glass of wine that was$18. A little overpriced, especially when we looked it up online it only costs $18/bottle. But a great time. Just bring your wallet read more

Very cool aesthetic, but unfortunately we were stuck in a back corner away from all the fun. Not a huge food menu unfortunately but a lot of picture worthy cocktails! read more

Food and drinks were good. Very noisy as a DJ played loud music all through our meal. Average age of guests was 30's.

Great ambience and service but extremely overpriced for level of food. Ordered salmon and it tasted nothing but salt. Asked them to remake it which they were accommodating and next go around it was outstanding. It was what I would of expected for the quality of restaurant and made sure it was right though disappointing it was done second time around and not first time with what you are paying for in dish like that downtown. I would only drink there again because bar looked great but not eat there again. read more

We had been looking forward to our dinner at Juniper since we made the reservation a week ahead. We found the velvet rope at the entrance silly; it was as if Juniper was trying to represent itself as a "hard to get into venue" rather than a welcoming one. The decor is impressive. However, the thumping music is distracting and inhibits conversation. Maybe that is what the "youthful" market desires. The service that we received was indifferent. We were in and out in 36 minutes. This was not our intention. Our appetizers ( smoked salmon and An order of Focaccia) arrived before our drinks. Then shortly after the appetizers arrived , followed by the drinks, the entrees arrived. They were lined up on the very small table. The sad thing is the food is very good. However, the speed of presentation and the thumping music does not contribute to a satisfying dining experience. If Juniper's target market is "youth" and this is what young people want this is their read more

I'll preface this with the fact that I had no idea what to expect. We were in town for our 10th anniversary and to see family, and were told about this new place everyone's talking about, so we decided to book it late night on our anniversary for after the baby went to sleep. Our reservation was for 9:30p. The service was really quite poor. Our server greeted us and then didn't come back for 20 minutes, just to tell us that "he'd have to see if the kitchen was still open" since it closes at 10pm. We were there for dinner, not realizing that this isn't really a dinner spot. They were out of the shrimp, which was really the only thing I wanted, but we went ahead and ordered some of the other items since we only had a few minutes to do so. None of the items we ordered were that special or would themselves provide any reason to go back. Neither were our drinks. I do appreciate that Juniper serves a ton of gin drinks, which is my liquor of choice, but I wasn't wow'ed. Additionally, the place is insanely loud. Not a good place for a date, but perhaps for a girls night out. There were women dancing around and singing up and down the restaurant, which I thought was odd, but people seemed to like it. I really don't know what this place is. A bar? A lounge? Also was not a fan of the Michaels faux flower decor. read more

Huge disappointment... I've had better food at a work conference buffet. The bread was the best appetizer we had. The mussel taquitos were meh, with flavors similar to a Philly cheesesteak egg roll you'd find at a local dive bar, the "white sauce" actually tasted spoiled. The Thai shrimp were okay but a small portion and ultimately forgettable. The juniper salad was pretty much Just a pretty plate.. we ate about an 1/8th of it and stopped. The salad was essentially a head of romaine lettuce. The first cocktail I got came highly recommended by a friend, the king and joker, but I think the one I got was off. The bee's knee though was very well executed. The vibe in the restaurant was excellent and service was good, but ultimately this is just a restaurant for the Instagram. My advice, stop serving food, stop requiring reservations and just become a club. The fact I waited six weeks foe this reservation probably led to the huge disappointment. read more

We went there for a birthday get together. If you dont want to read this whole thing, ill summarize : the view and interior decorations were great. Everything else: sub par, shit grade. Let me explain. This is suppose to be upscale(judging from the prices, appetizer bread $15 etc). We brought flowers for birthday girl, and noone, not tje hostness not even the manager had a clue when i asked for any type of bucked to put the flowers in, what to do. It seemed so dfficult for them to accomodate such thing. The waiter was nice, but thats it. The waiting practicaly non existent. My wife and i run a restaurant consulting business exactly to this degree, how to make sure the staff is top notch snd to help business make great profit. They took our order for drinks. Brought them out 20mins later, only part of them, and obviously mixed up. We waited another hald hour to place orders for i guess apetizers. We didnt risk. We ordered fried thai shrimp, which were rubbery and greasy, some sort of rolls, and i swear they tasted like the ones from 7-11 on the rolling thing, and salmon which was overcooked, seriously. The most basic things that noone could screw up. Feom our extensive experience, either the food was old refrozen and reheated or the "chef" is someone who just got hired randomly. Our drinks were empty and we waited about snother 20minutes from when the glasses empty for someone to take our drink order. Terrible on their part. They maybe packed, but missing out on huge revenue profits because theyre staff is absolutely clueless. Hence, placing the fault at the managers. The place is beautiful, but service and food does not match that. If the owners ever read reviews, listen and listen good, your profits could be 3x that if you hired someone like us, to revamp your staff. In summary, come there to sdmire the view AFTER, you had drinks and food somewhere else. read more

The only reason I'm giving my experience at Juniper two stars is because of the initial welcome that I received. As I arrived for my friend's birthday party, the hostess insisted that I tell her the name on the reservation. I told her the name of my friend whose birthday it was. Her name and number weren't in the system because her husband made the reservation. The hostess made me wait downstairs until I could figure out who made the reservation and asked questions like how many people were in our party. I'm not sure what the risk was of letting me go upstairs and finding my friends. I had to stay downstairs for at least 10 min until I figured out that my friend's husband made the reservation and the hostess then called the upstairs staff to make sure that they confirmed my friend's name. This seemed very unnecessary and insulting- as if I was pretending to know someone to get inside the restaurant. If it weren't for this welcome, then I would give this experience the full five stars- the atmosphere is great, beautiful rooftop views, delicious foods, and a great DJ. I just wish the hostess was nicer and more helpful- it seemed as if her job was to keep people out as opposed to welcoming them in. The place wasn't busy- there were empty tables and seats at the bar. I'm assuming Juniper is trying to create hype by making it difficult for people to get in- even my friends had trouble making reservations ahead of time. read more
