Place was cool - was so hoping to find amazing food but it was just meh- my husband who loves shrimp and grits did not even finish the over smokey flavor. I had a salad and added salmon (dry and overcooked) Service at the bar was friendly - but the food did not add up to the cool vibes of the place

Great food and music.. who can ask for more! Ambience overload is what we experienced. The service was great along with food. We were definitely pleased with Draper Purveying. If you're looking for a good place to eat while in Greenville, SC check them out you will not be disappointed.

Such a fun night at Draper Purveying Company! I went to the Old Forester Whiskey Row Dinner and it was awesome. The food was incredible -- every course had that perfect southern comfort vibe, and each one was paired with a different bourbon that totally worked. You could tell the chef and team put a lot of thought into it. The staff made the whole experience even better -- super friendly, easy to talk to, and really knew their bourbon. The atmosphere was relaxed but still felt special, like one of those nights you just don't want to end. Draper is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in downtown Greenville. Can't wait to go back for their next event!

A last minute reservation for a team dinner after rescheduling an original team reservation was a perfect evening with the Draper staff. The staff was so accommodating and welcoming to our team from Wisconsin. They immediately felt like they were at home with a warm ambiance, a great server and team who made piping hot appetizers, and went through each detail of the ingredient for those at the table needing clarity for allergies and preferences. I missed taking photos of the two orders of fried Brussel sprouts, two crab cakes, 1 jalapeño cornbread and burrata. Each appetizer was delicious and the service balancing the midwestern guests was perfectly paired with accompanying beverages for our meals. Chefs kiss to the crab cakes-- my coworker originally born in South Georgia said, "it tastes like my nana made this' and you can taste the 'southern hospitality in the way the corn was prepared'. Our entrees were delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the risotto had such balanced flavors and man, if I could have licked the plate, I would have. The balance of flavors was a melody of true art of sitting at the table with great service, company, and ending a team dinner with teammates who felt the welcome to the South.

I had heard of the opening of Draper Purveying in the former space of Barley's Pizzeria and had the chance to visit here for lunch on a Friday. I made a reservation via Open Table for noon, thinking it would be crowded. Turns out, as the manager, Keith said, "lunch is still pretty hit-or-miss" with the crowd. Evenings are more crowded for dinner service, and the upstairs event space becomes a live music scene on weekends nights called the Cats Pajamas, open until 2AM. See my attached photos of this renovation from what formerly was an upper end pool hall. There are many tables here that can fit parties of six to eight. The front section of the restaurant can be closed off to serve a private party of 20, seated at three tables. This latter space has window seating right on Washington. The two of us arrived on time and were promptly seated, given a menu and received iced water in what I originally thought was a plastic cup but instead was a Draper logo glass which resembled a plastic cup. All this happened inside of 3 minutes. And a minute later, we were ready to order and our order was taken. Y Keith. All that happened within five minutes, so the service was proving out excellent. I chose the blackened mahi mahi tacos on grilled flour tortillas with poblano slaw and grilled pineapple salsa with regular fries. My favorite wife chose the hand battered chicken tenders with Cajun lemon pepper fries. My mahi tacos were $15 and her tenders were $13. So the prices and portions are also shaping up as excellent. And wouldn't you know it, the food arrived at 12:15, promptly brought to our table by Keith. We did have another wait staff check on us several times for anything we may have been missing, or for refills, so it wasn't just Keith at front of house. I looked around and noted the "crowd". Including us, there were four two tops, then a table of seven and a table of five and then one solo diner. I was surprised that the restaurant has yet to make the lunch crowd traction and hence my earlier reported discussion with Keith. We were also told about Saturday and Sunday brunch, which sounds quite lovely, beginning at 11 on Saturday and 10 on Sunday. Inquiring about reservations, we were told we could make them for brunch, but it's easy to squeeze in two for seating. That's on our "to do" list. The mahi was cooked perfectly, the blackening was just right, noticeable and not overwhelming the slaw and salsa. It was one delicious, juicy bite with well proportioned ingredient ratios for a composed dish flavor. Shoestring fries accompanied with the Cajun lemon pepper dry spice, crispy and not limp or "sweating" and a good sized portion was provided. My wife loved the fresh chicken tenders, hand breaded and not the frozen pre-breaded type, so they were crisp, juicy and also with a light crunch such that she remarked, "these do not need any sauce, sauce would take away from the flavor." We were invited to go upstairs and take a peek at that event space and were even more impressed with the make over done by Draper. Now, we need to make future plans for a brunch and for a dinner, but I'll leave the "open 'til 2AM" Cats Pajamas crowd on their own. Excellent food and value for lunch!

Fried green tomatoes with homemade pimento cheese and hot honey drizzle. To die for.

Great food. Our favorite restaurant in Greenville. Great Sunday brunch. Meadow is a fantastic bartender/mixologist. Not hard to look at either. Ash is extremely friendly and staff is fun. Do yourself a favor and visit this place. Live music some too

What a great spot ! We came here last night and enjoyed our visit. The atmosphere is wonderful. Staff is extremely friendly and kind. I would make a reservation before though. We had the beef tenderloin appetizer--so good! We finished dinner with the fried chicken and penne. We will be back. Prices are reasonable and food had great flavor, and lots of options.

Great service at the bar, amazing atmosphere and food. We got the coffee rubbed beef tenderloin, ahi tuna tostadas, filet with shrimp add on, and creme brûlée. Absolutely will be back to try more menu items. Thank you for a great dining experience and delicious food!

I was hungry and didn't know what or where to eat, not like there is a lack of options, but did I want ramen or something more local in regional flare? I picked the second one. I ended up at Tupelo Honey because fresh southern fried chicken sounded amazing and this place wasn't going to break the bank. I guess this place is a chain but I didn't know this until I was eating. The staff were beyond friendly and attentive and they answered all of my questions about the food. The restaurant was super clean. I ended up ordering the half bird with original seasoning on it. The seasoning the put on it is a crystallized honey power and something else in it, it gives the chicken a nice sweet flavor but not overpowering. They also have a spicy version for you spice lovers. The half bird came with 4 pieces as one would expect, the crust was crispy and the chicken was awesome. I was eating the dark meat and couldn't get over how juicy it was. The real test as you all know is the breast, is that going to be dry? Nope, it was so moist and flavorful, it was a home run. I guess they brine their chicken for some good amount of time and it shows. My sides though I wish I would have gotten more adventurous, the meal came with two sides so I got a salad and the fried potatoes as a recommendation from the waitress. They were good but the mac n cheese looked better. Overall this place is great and I would go again. It's right downtown and the service was fast and friendly. Great place for some fried chicken .

You get all the tourists from the Westin next door as well as the regulars walking buy since this is a central location. Right from the way it looked to the way it tasted, there was consistent lackluster vibe. The vegetable bowl was an afterthought of a dish, very unsure brussel sprouts thrown together with a handful of carrot slivers, some odd bits of grains and a very forlorn handful of dry tofu. The fried egg on the top made it edible and I was glad that I asked for it. The crunchy bits of garlic on the side seemed like a fear of commitment. An entry that is named roasted garlic vegetable bowl should claim it loud and proud in every bite. Grouper hoagie... let us just say at that the fries on the side were the highlight of this dish. Very underwhelming experience saved by the fact that our seating was very conducive to conversation, round tables for six, what a brilliant set up and lighting and noise level just enough to enjoy the company. I might just bring take out here to enjoy the ambiance!

Soby's just won the Wine Spectator Grand Award (highest possible) and a Michelin recommended restaurant for 2025. And it shows. We didn't get any wine this evening, but the menu is as thick as a long novel. Anything and everything is in this puppy. Wines from all over the world, ranging from a few bucks to over $13,000 a bottle. Take your pick. We opted for some beer and cocktails, all of which were perfect. The food. This southern inspired menu with local ingredients was fantastic. We had a spicy pimento cheese app with crispy pita and pickled okra...delish! The beet and goat cheese salad was one of the best we've had. The pic speaks for itself there. The Soby's fried chicken is something you HAVE to get if you go. The best fried chicken, with the best bacon mac n cheese to complement it. Tender and juicy, crispy and flavorful...these words don't even scratch the surface of how good this dish was. Soby's serves Southern charm before the food even hits the table. (And if your experience is anything like mine, you will be waiting awhile for the food to hit the table.) Weathered wood beams stretch overhead, brick walls hold decades of character, and the warm lighting makes the whole room glow like butter on a hot biscuit. The kitchen hums with the kind of energy that says brunch is serious business. If you sit upstairs at the loft, there are some seats that overlook the kitchen so it's like brunch and a show. The pecan sticky bun is sweet enough to make you reconsider sharing though I wouldn't know because they ran out of it before 11:00a. Service was friendly and quick on the front end, though the kitchen's food expeditors seemed a little short-handed. The result? A slight wait that left some eggs spending a bit too much quality time under the heat lamps. My Shakshuka dish had an egg-istential crisis. Instead of that luscious over-easy river of yolk, the eggs arrived closer to hard-boiled territory--less "runny brunch bliss" and more "deviled egg audition." Thankfully, our waiter expedited another over easy egg to replace the one that came with my dish. The Providence Farm Country Fried Steak was the undeniable headliner--about 1.5 inches thick and fried to golden perfection. Smothered in sausage gravy, it was the kind of dish that makes cardiologists nervously flip through their calendars. The flavor? Steak-ing its claim as one of the better country fried steaks around. The sunny-side egg, however, had clearly spent a little too long basking beneath the warming lights alongside my shakshuka. But, if you come for one thing only, let it be the white chocolate banana cream pie. As I've heard Southern Belles say in gest, "it'll make you wanna slap your mama." In short: rustic atmosphere, an energetic kitchen, and Southern food that doesn't just butter you up--it grits straight to the point.
