We came here the first weekend in January for a girl's trip. We heard it was super cute. This place was indeed cute decor wise. However, the service left something to be desired. When we walked in the bartender barely greeted us before telling us they would close earlier than posted so we could only have one round. We said okay and proceeded to order our drinks quickly. One of the drinks we ordered was made incorrectly resulting in a less than desirable taste. When asked to add the missing ingredient, he instead proceeded to make excuses for why she didn't like the drink due to her personal tastes versus taking accountability for the error. The remake which included the missing ingredient was much better and what she wanted. Very cute bar but the service could use a little TLC. read more

Very fun spot to grab drinks. The interior design is spectacular. Drink menu was extensive and had options for everyone. Only note I'd give, and it wasn't a big deal, but when we asked our server for a recommendation he didn't know any of the drinks on the menu. We'll definitely come back in the future. read more

Absolutely charming little bar on the outskirts of the downtown area. Alice in Wonderland themed, and with some of the friendliest staff that we have ever encountered. Come sit on a velvet couch and try one of the theme cocktails and admire the decor all over the bar that genuinely make you feel like you have stepped back into Wonderland. The bartenders concoctions are on point so make sure you try the drink called "We are all a little mad". Make sure you take a trip to the restroom and enjoy listening to the story Alice in Wonderland being told to you while you use the facilities. All of the rabbit portraits will make you giggle. The rabbit hole is a fun little place to check out at least once. The decor is amazing all throughout and overall we enjoyed the experience. We had reservations for the Library. We were not given any time to look at the front area or order any drinks ahead of going to the back. We got there 15 minutes early and were taken straight back. I was disappointed the door to the library was already propped opened, so it didn't seem as magical as it could have. The small room was dark but the decor was fantastic. The chairs/ couch were uncomfortable as you could not sit back at all. The small tables were wobbly. The server was nice but did not offer any conversation or go over anything about the very limited menu. It was dark so we had to use our phone flashlight to read the menu. We felt rushed and then almost ignored. You cannot trust the menu you see online. You get what you get when you get there . Online it said that Thursdays was a new pasta night, but apparently that had already ended. They no longer have the potato donuts that everyone raved about. When we asked our server about the pasta and the donuts he said oh yeah, we've already changed that. Our server only brought one of our appetizers and completely forgot about the second one. We had to ask two different times to get it. The food is lackluster at best and overly salty. We ordered two appetizers and two drinks and decided that was enough and made plans to leave and go elsewhere. Overall, we enjoyed the experience. It was fun to look at all of the many rabbits on the wall and just see all the different elements of the Wonderland decor. The bathroom in the bar area out front is the only one decorated in an Alice in Wonderland theme, not the one in the library. Things to know: To make a reservation to be able to go into the library, you have to put a card on file. There is a $20 fee if you don't show up or cancel after a certain time window . You do have to pay for parking unless you can get one of the six parallel parking spots out front. The same food is served at the bar area in the front as in the back, but they have different drink menus. Following the information on the Facebook page or on the website is not absolutely going to be what you find when you get there. Overall, I would give it a five out of 10 for food and service and 10 out of 10 for ambience. If we go back again and that's a big if, we will stay in the bar area and see if that's more fun. read more

What a cute place in the west village. The theme is Alice in Wonderland and the hallway down to the speakeasy is lined with ticking clocks. The cocktails were excellent as were the appetizers. The entrees were smaller than the average American restaurant but were the perfect size for us. There is a dog friendly seating area out front. We highly recommend this place! read more

Definitely an Instagrammable place! The experience was fun, and it's clear that attention to detail was prioritized. An immersive experience with greenery on the walls and the story of Alice and Wonderland being played on speaker in the bathroom. You will truly feel like you've "fallen down the hole". As for the quality of cocktails, for such a speakeasy eclectic vibe, meh. Prices are much higher than expected and the drinks, themselves, are just okay. We stuck with the classics, keeping in mind, "if you can do the classics right, you can do more". We did not order a second round. Came here around 7 pm on a Friday night and the crowd was minimal which was nice. We had reservations so we were ushered to "The Library" in the back which holds its own menu that can't be ordered in the front of the restaurant. The decor lends itself to be quirky and whimsical. The Library portion itself is very cozy and dimly lit to provide a nice relaxing setting for that end of work week cocktail. The Duke of Earl is a gin based drink that had notes of a Negroni. This specific concoction was a bartender creation that's only available in the back end of the place. My fiancée got a mezcal drink (can't remember the name) that was equally as delicious! Great spot for an intimate post dinner nightcap. Will return soon! read more

First of all, you can't beat the ambience here for a fabulous date night out. We started out with the hummus and it was perfect. We split the chicken kalsu sando and the steak and we couldn't believe how delicious both were. We were still talking about the milk bread the next day and are already planning to go back! This is such a cute spot! It is decorated Alice in Wonderland themed. I thought it was too funny that they have won an award for their bathroom. But, if you go definitely visit the bathroom too! As odd as that sounds, it's worth seeing! I went here to grab drinks with friends. It does get very crowded on a Saturday night! We sat outside, and we all really enjoyed our drinks. I got the Who Is Hugo, and it was very refreshing. They also have a speakeasy part in the back, but it was under renovation while we're there. I am so sad that I am JUST now trying this place. There is nothing even close to The Rabbit Hole here in Greenville. The décor is straight out of the Alice in Wonderland book. When you first walk up on the building there is a cozy patio with a large fire pit and ample seating. Once you step inside you've official gone done the rabbit hole. There is moss and flowers and references to Alice everywhere. I ordered two different drinks and each where unique. There are liquors for everyone and even the classic drinks. I came here with a few girlfriends to start our Friday off right. Since it was cinco de Mayo, we needed to get a drink with tequila in it. Our drinks were prefect! Couldn't tell you the name of it, but it was a perfect hue of purple. The waiter/bartender was fabulous and he would check up on us here and there. We got the charcuterie board to nibble on. The meat that they had on the board was as SO GOOD! I'm just tasting it in my mouth now! Of course, the inside of The Rabbit Hole is unlike any other place here in Greenville. Great drink menu - so interesting and unique. Servers are very prompt and helpful. I honestly didn't know they served food so I'll have to try that. Love the theme of the restaurant - the bathrooms a little creepy - sitting down and having hundreds of rabbits staring at you is a little shocking but you get used to it. This was a cool little bar. Kind of reminds me of some of the bars I have been in in older cities like San Francisco, Chicago, or Boston. Has a speakeasy feel to it. There is even a private room for rental that they almost treat as a speakeasy, with a velvet rope preventing entrance, and a mysterious quality about it. We went during happy hour on a Friday and it wasn't too busy. I had a beer and the lady had the In This Style. It was really tasty but a little pricey for what was served. The staff paid great attention to us. They employ the teamwork strategy where two or three people kind of handle all of the tables together. The only negative I would say is the table sizes. They were so small! For two people to have two drinks, two plates and an appetizer, we were not really able to eat freely because we thought something would fall off the table. I understand space is a concern, and not everyone eats, but the tables were really cramped. Otherwise, loved it here! read more

My updated review (morning after): It's clear to me now: I should have left. Before ordering anything, or at least after taking my first sip. The review I wrote last night was colored by disappointment. This morning, it's more like anger. Why? Well, as much as I wanted to love my experience, as much as I was actually looking forward to it, and even as much as the interiors of this place suggest you're about to have a lovely time ... I didn't. First interesting sign: there was a huge gaggle of 20-something girls around the front fire pit. At one point early in my visit, most of them trooped in, to gape over the bathroom. One of the bartenders then commented that this is probably the only place in Greenville where people go out of their way to look at the bathroom. Two weird signs, right in a row. Then, the next sign that, looking back, should have alarmed me and led me out the door: their virtual menu and its pricing. there was an immediate "slippery" feeling about the prices that I haven't had for years and years at a place in Greenville. The first page, bubbles, had zero prices listed. The succeeding wine pages were marked with the comment that prices range from $9-14 per glass. What?!? So, who's to keep anyone from simply charging $14 per glass? *super* sketchy, not only in my experience but also my opinion from time spent in cocktail bars and wine bars all over the world. Oh, cocktails? There was one page, with 6 options. Ok, wow. Those has better be incredible then, right? Not a single price on the page, not even a range. SKETCHY. Also: not a single ingredient listed for any cocktail. Just three adjectives, as if they were describing a wine or a single origin coffee. When a bartender came by (and I'm definitely not going to call any of these nice people a mixologist), I asked about the ingredients, and was mildly surprised that the very first one was vodka based. Now, I don't know your feelings about vodka, but the fact is that vodka-based cocktails are for people who a) don't actually care about spirits and/or b) just want "alcohol." Here's the other weird thing: every single cocktail's *ingredient* list made my face turn unconsciously twisted. Either someone has unusual insight into odd ingredient combinations, or ... well, I really should have left at this point. (For instance, there's a bourbon-based drink -- and no mention of what bourbon, because evidently that's inconsequential--that also has *spiced pear liqueur* and other liqueurs too. I'm confident my face was contorted at that description alone.) For some reason, I ordered a cocktail, the gin-based plus carrot(?) one called "Fixed at 6." Slightly odd name. Is that "prepared" or "neutered"? Again, no mention of *what* gin, nor that this was even a relevant question to answer. The *sounds* of its preparation should have also led me to decline it. Everything tossed into a shaker and lazily sloshed 3-4 times before being poured out entirely into a glass tumbler. (There were flashbacks of the similarly disappointing Juniper at this point.) And the taste? Like spiked koolaid. I should have sent it back and left. But somehow, maybe because I had some writing to do, and it was a long day, I stayed. I couldn't bring myself to drink more than half of it. The service was clearly not trained enough to see this as a telling sign that a refund was in order, so I didn't push it. Decided to order another, Roses Got You Beet. Again, a lazy 3-4 sloshes with ice, this time more critical since the drink was drained into a glass. (Not nearly enough shaking time to chill a drink.) This one was a little more interesting, given that its base spirit was pisco brandy, but still...both were giving me the impression that "cocktail" here meant spiked fruit/vegetable purée. The more I sipped, the more I learned it was *heavily* spiked purée. Then came the bill. Remember: I had never seen any prices, which would have been cause enough to refuse an exorbitant price. But these cocktails were imagined and made so poorly, I thought they must be $10 or less. To my surprise, shock actually, the total with tax was $36!!!! After I left and the night wore on, it became clear just how heavily spiked those purées were. I developed the most blazing headache I've had in nearly a decade. So, are the wines here good? I have absolutely no idea. But you couldn't pay me to come back here, and that's a huge disappointment to someone--like me--who was expecting to find a new favorite place when I walked in the door. I should have left. (By the way, I hate writing negative reviews. It's not that I feel betrayed by this experience. I just think that the creativity and craft and presentation of these cocktails is nowhere near the *median* for the Greenville cocktail scene and yet the price is on the extreme upper end, even higher than Swordfish, which really doesn't deserve to be named in the same sentence.) read more

We went here last night. So here are my thoughts... Pros: Great atmosphere - we went into the library portion. Service was very attentive and friendly. Decor in both sections was very detailed and interesting with something to catch the eye everywhere you look. Cons: Very limited menu and at 7:30 on a Friday night they were already "out of" 2 of the 8 offerings on the menu of small plates. We had reservations and the round small backless stool that my husband had to sit on (he gave me the more comfortable seat) was very uncomfortable. Drinks were quite pricey, hubby did order the $30 drink, thinking it would be something pretty amazing, and although good, not worth a $30 pricetag. All in all, the food and the drinks seem overpriced. Bottom line, ok experience but not a place we would seek out again. Nice to see once, but be sure to have plenty of $ when you go. And plan to eat either before or after. Snacking there is pretty much the limit. Again, no reflection on the staff as they were really great. read more

Love the vibe here. Drinks are hand crafted and delicious. Service may have been either overworked or short staffed but they had great team effort & for as busy as they were, everyone had a smile on their face. Chicken dip was really tasty.
