I'm an out-of-towner but needed an oil change before I head back to California. Figured I'd stick to a dealer since I didn't know the area and needed a trustworthy oil change given my 2k mile journey back. Found it relatively easy to schedule an appointment. Overall pretty satisfied. I didn't get a quote beforehand, but was a little surprised at the price, $66 for an oil change, which could be right on market for Cedar Rapids, but my oil change costs $74 in California. I was expecting high 50s given that there were no extra services performed such as tire rotation, etc. Complimentary car wash left something to be desired, Not sure if it's soap or they just didn't get all the dust off my car (it wasn't super dusty, just the normal amount of dust from a car that's sat in a driveway for a couple weeks without a wash or rain). And given that I have a black car, it is noticeable. I have white droplets and residue from my hood, to the top of the car. I don't expect a professional wash, just not expecting residue. If you want extra social-distance I'd recommend walking over to the dealer waiting area, no one was there when I stopped in, and they had a counter area where you could work on a computer, and complimentary wifi, allowing me to continue working during the service, which was great. Customer service was generally very good, my service rep was very friendly and polite and had a great attitude, it was disappointing that he wasn't wearing a mask and only about 25% of the staff seemed to be wearing a mask. I don't know why masks are so controversial, but given the science, as a customer, when I am at a business that can't be bothered to wear a mask I always think, I guess they don't care about the health of their customers. And it becomes a little painful handing your money over to someone who doesn't care about your basic health. If you're immune-compromised, I would find somewhere else to get your oil changed during the duration of Covid-19. read more

I found it very disappointing the gentleman helping me did not even bother to offer to find a new time for me at all,whether today or in future. I had a great experience with Aspen from Junge in Hiawatha. I traded my Wrangler for a 2015 Silverado. This was my first truck so I appreciated Aspens patience with all my dumb questions. A day or two after the sale, I noticed that no floor mats had come with my truck. I contacted Aspen and he ordered me new mats. Really nice ones too!!! The team there is not high pressure. In fact, the first day we went there, we just wanted to check out the inventory. They left us alone instead of most dealerships that come running out the minute you pull into the driveway! Not cheap, but honest people; they are not trying to trick you, and they give its customers advanced notice of when they are going to need to replace something. It's never: "oh....your c&@$ is broken, you need a new one immediately, it will be $1,800", when you were just taking your car for service. Never. read more

I can't speak for the sales department. My review is only for the service department. This dealership has terrible customer service. I brought my vehicle in under warranty to have a mildew smell in the ac looked at and they could not find the problem. Apparently there was a plug in the hole that releases the condensation and water was building up. My garage I get my oil changed at found the problem and cleaned it out without charge. While I was there attempting to get that fixed I also asked about fixing the power outlet in the front. It wasn't working. They would not fix it under warranty for some reason and said it would cost over $300 to fix. I took it to a car audio shop down the road and they had it fixed for $40. I also had broken my antenna off in a low parking garage. I knew this would not be covered by warranty but I wanted an estimate. They said they had to remove the entire base and replace it and gave an estimate of several hundred dollars. I ended up using a reverse drill bit to get the broken part out and bought a new antenna for $10 and screwed it in. During this same visit I mentioned that sometimes while driving with a passenger, the airbag off light would come on. This would happen while driving and then would correct itself a few minutes later. They would not even look at this, just said that sometimes that happens. So they would not fix the problem under warranty. 2 years after this, I received a recall notice from the manufacturer for the exact same problem. The sensor in the seat was faulty and sometimes the airbag would shut off. My wife called them to schedule an appointment to get it fixed because of the recall. The man in the service department said that they can't fix it until it is a constant malfunction and not sporadic. I called back and spoke to the same gentleman and he told me the same thing. This was a factory recall notice. I asked him if the recall was for the brakes would I have to wait until they fail completely before they took care of the recall. At that point he agreed to get this safety issue fixed under recall. But wouldn't take the information like VIN number to order the parts without me coming in. So I had to come in and he looked at the vin and said he would call me when the part came in. The call never came. Finally I called and they said they had the part and would schedule the appointment. When the day came to get it fixed my wife was bringing in the car and called to confirm the appointment before heading out. The man who answered the phone said it was still on and she better get there at exactly that time if she wanted it worked on. This dealership has the worst service department I have ever seen. Their staff all could use remedial customer service training. read more

When I walked onto the lot at Junge in Cedar Rapids, I was prepared for the type of adversarial nonsense that I had come to experience when shopping for a car. What I experienced instead was a dealership full of disarmingly nice and very professional people, particularly Russ Kramer, who were more than happy to work with me without pressure and without the usual sales tactics. It was an entirely painless, so much so that by the end of the transaction, I actually felt bad about the fact that I initially treated Russ like a regular car salesman. Of course, the metaphorical cherry on top is the fact that Mazda makes a d*mn fine machine. In summary: These people are awesome. You should buy cars from them. read more

I honestly wish I could give negative stars. I went there because I have an '01 Tribute that has a recall on it and I planned on going to Des Moines to see my family so I wanted to get it done before the trip. So I called and dropped it off the night before. When I went to pick it up I couldn't even go down the street with my car. My car was fine before dropping it off, my check engine light was on but I already had that looked at by my mechanic. My car was chugging and lights were flickering which it wasn't doing before. So I had to turn around and put it right back where it was because there was no way I was getting my car home. I called the next morning and got Mike on the phone. I told him what I went in for and what happened when I got it back. He claimed they never went inside of my engine so his guys never did anything to my car it was running poorly anyways. I told him it wasn't 12 hours before I dropped it off to them. He went back and forth about how it wasn't their fault and that its my check engine light. I brought up how it says on the receipt that there's a complementary check up on there and then it lists things wrong with my car. He claimed they don't really do that they just have to put it on the receipt and the things they listed were problems they probably noticed when taking my car in. Then he brought up they could look my car over for $99 and of course I said I was not going to do that. I informed my mother-in-law about the situation and that's when she stepped in and spoke to him. He argued with her and said my car runs bad, said that my check engine light is on and maybe we need new mechanics. To be fair she cursed right back at him as well. She brought up the fact that the complementary check up on as on my receipt. He told her they have to do the check when ever the engine light is on. So we both got two totally different answers for that. Then he even told us that they're open till 1 I can come get my car cause they don't want it in their lot anyway. To which we replied we would if we could but you messed up the car. So they were being very rude until it was brought up the fact that I have a 2 yr old that I was planning on going to Des Moines with alone to see family. That is finally when they said they would look to see what's wrong and stall the problem so I can get around until I can afford to fix it. So I got there to pick up my car, waited and he finally got me and said "I'll show you the problem with your car." Popped the hood and showed me the Evap was broken, claimed it was cracked and had fallen off but it was never like that before I took it in and when you look at the piece it looks like it was snapped off. He showed me how he put a bolt in the hose to stop so much air from coming in, and showed me where it broke. Then he slammed shut my hood and , before I could say or ask anything, said "that's why your car runs like junk." And went back inside. I have been told by multiple people I should go to the better business bureau and that might just be what I have to do. Worst service of my LIFE. read more

I bought a new Mazda from them in 2012. In 2015, the transmission failed. I took it to a transmission dealer who found a service bulletin saying this was a known issue with my car and that Mazda should fix it even though it was past the warranty. They did not. Crappy car that Mazda and Junge do not stand behind. 3 years and 65,000 mostly easy highway miles is too soon for a transmission to be replaced. read more

This review is based on test driving a car and not buying a car or service. I just test drove a Toyota RAV4 in Iowa City and decided to try the Mazda CX5. As I left IC, I called to test drive a car. It was agreed by the salesperson to show me the car in 30 minutes. The car was not the trim level I wanted, it was more expensive than I was willing to pay. The salesperson said the higher trim level drives the same as the midlevel trim level. I said "Ok" and test drove it. The experience was great, no pressure. The salesperson was helpful and told me they could get me the trim level I wanted from another dealership. I didn't buy a car from here because later I found out my insurance would be double for a Mazda CX5 vs. a Toyota RAV4 or Subaru Forester. It's a wonderful car, and really my second choice behind the Honda CRV but the CRV got recalled and I ended up going all the way to Chicago to get a RAV4. Go figure! read more

This review is for the sales department and is based upon an experience 1 1/2 years ago (sales rep is hopefully gone by now). We were looking at a CX5 or a Toyota Rav4. We decided to go for the CX5. My wife and I sat down with the salesman to start the negotiations. It was a Thursday and most dealers in town use Thursdays as there extended sales day (i.e. more busy, should be staffed up). The salesman took our information and said he needed to go pick up some papers from the printer. After a long wait, I was getting impatient so I turned around in my chair (conveniently facing away from the sales floor) and I saw him outside the front door talking to a customer. I thought, okay, maybe it was another customer he had been working with and was touching bases with them. The salesman came back shuffled some papers and said the printer wasn't working so he hand wrote the same information. He then got up and said he had to go to the sales manager to get the initial offer price. Again we waited a long time. I turned around to look and he was sitting at a sales kiosk with another customer. I looked at my wife and said this is nuts. We are ready to put money on the table and the salesman is still out working customers on the salesfloor. We got up and left. It was kind of funny that as we were walking outside heading to our vehicle, we had to walk right in front of saleman at the computer kiosk. He didn't even see us. His loss. We drove straight to the Toyota dealer and that salesman was top notch. read more
