Will never buy from here again. I was assaulted by the GM and 3 employees. The GM (bald guy who would not tell me his name) threatened to punch me and "beat the shit outta me" ... Then got into my car while I was in front of it and he continued to drive into my legs, hitting me and as I lose my footing and fall into the hood of the car... I'm in literal shock. As I'm walking outside to try and get into my car... 3 other employees including BryceLanghurst, Mike Bushman, come to harass me. The GM gets out of my car to get in my face again to assault me ... Before getting back into my car to drive it clear across the lot... As I walk to my car across the lot, the 3 other employees insist on harassing me to my car... Then tell me I cannot leave... While 2 others tell me to leave and blocking my car. I have made a police report. I have video and pictures. Bought a 2023 Crown Limited that was suppose to be Gold Certified. To find out it was not properly certified being bated to buy this vehicle and lied to on the certification. Within the day of purchase I experienced problems like the software being 2 years old on the infotainment system which made my screen glitch, backup camera not working... Lane assist not working... Heated seats don't work.... Knocking in the engine when reversing... Horrible wind noise in the driver side... This is just a few. When I discuss these concerns in detail to the manager John, I get a one word reply, "Yep.". Absolutely unacceptable. This is shady and did nothing to compensate for this stress and straight up lie to a returning customer. dealership. Sad, unprofessional, unacceptable. My software was never updated the 7 days it was here... And when I complained about new scratches, that apparently was the last straw and they couldn't bare to take responsibility. I had just dropped a $14k down payment buying a $42k car... Didn't think my concerns were out of reach. No apology yet from Toyota or this dealership for such a horrible experience. read more

I took my truck in for a scheduled service. They didn't have the parts for the service that I had scheduled out 2 weeks in advance so I was only able to do the oil change and tire rotation and had to reschedule an already scheduled service. Then when I went to pick up my truck they were using it as a demo and letting customers sit in it to "See how it felt" and if they could see over the hood scoop. That is super irresponsible to do during the current issues with Covid, and when I caught them using it in this way they didn't even offer an apology. read more

I bought a Toyota Camry from this dealership. Within the first two years I noticed the paint chipping off when I washed off any bugs. I took it back to the dealership and they tried to tell me it was where gravel hit it while driving on dirt roads. I tried to tell them it had never seen a dirt road. It was all my fault. I called Toyota customer service and they said they would go with whatever the dealership said. Over the next few years, the clear coat has completely peeled off of the car. POOR PAINT!! I just opened a letter from Toyota and guess what? They have figured out THE PAINT WAS BAD!!! Don't trust this dealer!! read more

Fast and quality service. Not sure if it was a particularly rough day, but the only friendly people I encountered seemed to be the actual service technician and the first person I spoke to at one of the receiving desks for service. Full eye contact and no smiles from any of the other people at the dealership. Completely different atmosphere from the last time I was here before I moved next door. After moving here from out of state I needed to put on a front license plate for my 2014 Toyota that I recently purchased. I thought this would be a simple request for the local Toyota dealer to help with. I called Cedar Rapids Toyota to set up an appointment, but they told me to do it myself. The service advisor, Doug, told me "you just need to drill holes through the dimples in your bumper and put the license plate on". After attempting to put it on myself I realized it wasn't working, the holes didn't line up-- so I called back. Doug then told me "sounds like you need to make different holes" (I am now upset because I have two holes in my new car that shouldn't be there, and he wants me to make more). After I explained to him that I would appreciate help with it, he explained "look I didn't design the car". I then decided to call Toyota of Iowa City and asked them the same question I asked the Cedar Rapids location. They promptly let me know I needed an extra attachment in order to install the front license plate ( that is why it wasn't working). They offered to order the part and install it for me, all I need to do is pay $60 for the part- which I am happy to do. Moral of my experience: even if you need to drive 45 minutes to avoid Cedar Rapids Toyota, you should do yourself a favor and do it. I almost never have bad experiences with businesses as I consider myself pretty easy going-- but this was crazy. I am glad I found this out before I let them service my car. read more

While I was extremely happy with the entire transaction when I purchased my Tacoma and with the service department until I discovered that the service department has gone the way of too many other dealerships - always trying to sell you things you do not need at outrageous prices. About every other oil change they would tell me I needed brakes, due to time restraints I went to a closer dealership to get the brakes done and was told that it would be a long time before I need to do anything to my brakes. I have been having our Prius serviced at your facility for seven years. I have never had any problem with the service or with communication with the service advisor until the last week. Dealing with Joe Kem has not been pleasant. After I arrived at an appointment to have my break lining replaced he informed me (that day) that the Toyota part was not present and that the replacement part would not be under warranty. The appointment had been made one week previous. When I questioned him about this situation, he pretended not to hear, although I'm sure everyone else in the service area could hear me just fine. My wife purchased a 2005 Matrix from them brand new. She had warrantee work performed, and they did the first and only oil change I ever let them do. The oil change appeared to have been performed by a high school student who never turned a wrench before. When I did the next oil change, I found the oil pan drain nut had been over torqued, because the fiber gasket washer was lost, so to stop the leak their brilliant mechanic over torqued the drain pan bolt. The oil filter was also severely over torqued and could not be removed with out its total destruction (they only need to be tighten 5/8 to 3/4 turn, not until you can't turn them anymore). So we test drove a new car the other day, made an offer, and their counter offer was MSRP (manufactures suggest retail price). This is the most common complaint I've heard from friends buying cars in Cedar Rapids, the dealers somehow think they don't need to deal. I can buy my car elsewhere, and because of federal trade commission rules they must perform warrantee work. If they tell you different, simple web complaint and they will wish they didn't screw with you. Just a heads up for those who have heard that before. Understand dealers discount from the manufacture is based on number of cars sold. So when they say they are selling it for 'invoice' that would be their cost if they sold only one per year. So use them to find the car you want to own, and purchase it elsewhere, on cars less then $25K you can save 6-8%, more money and you can offer a bigger cut. All prices are negotiable, but if they don't want to operate that way, vote by taking your money elsewhere. read more

When buying a car at this dealership, I was told that my car could remote lock and unlock from the key fobs. I noticed that they didn't work a couple of times that I tried to unlock the car while looking at purchasing it. I asked about the fobs not working and asked that they be replaced before buying the vehicle. They told me that I could change out the little keys on the side of the fobs and switch them back and forth and that it would keep the fobs working. I haven't had a car with a fob before, so I trusted the salesman. Both fobs failed to function within a month of purchasing the vehicle. They want to charge me $400 to get functioning fobs. These people are blatant liars and don't care about their customers whatsoever. read more

They will let you know if there are problems that are upcoming with your car, their prices are reasonable, they are professional, and the waiting room is clean, comfortable, has fresh coffee and popcorn. I was just getting back from driving two thousands miles I had reached my 25,000 miles mark to get my every 5000 miles for total care service which was to be my last one for the program I called the service dept in CR and was told they were booked up for the rest of the week and to use the quick lube service to get the oil change so I drove over and got in and was told I had 25, 136 miles and that I had to pay for the oil change out of my pocket well for one I had tried to get it in before the 25,000 I had to drive it into town to get the car there. I then called my saleman in Ia City which is where I bought the car from in the first place. and was told that they are to do the service on them not out of pocket I went in and told Gus and he refused that I had gone over. So I decided to call back Ia City and they were going to get my car in a couple of days later so I had to drive 50 miles away to get my total care service without using my out of pocket. When I showed up in Ia City they told me I had til 26,000 to use my service. So I like to let Gus know this for the next guy so they don't have to go thru what I went thru. So I will never use Quick Lube in CR for anything. read more
