I've been here a couple times now to try different things. Personally their matcha is alright to me but I do like their soft serve. They host events once in a while for different characters like miffy or snoopy which are pretty fun. There's a good amount of seating which is nice and it's in a pretty nice neighborhood too.
Service was friendly! Vibe was super fun and the Peanuts collab was adorable! Great hojicha and matcha too. Will definitely come back!
It was good.. but honestly way too sweet for my personal liking. My expectations were high because they had a high rating on yelp but I was sadly dissappointed. We were visiting from California so I think I would give their Irvine location a try but I personally liked Project Matcha way better.

This special lasts til the end of this month, so if you're reading this review now, go stop by before it ends! The place is bright and the staff is friendly! They have two kiosk stations to take your order, or you can always order at the front counter. Their menu is exactly all of the things I love: slushies/smoothies, classic teas, unique special teas, rice bites, and soft serve. This was my first time dropping by, so I had to grab a Galaxy drink: the Ube, Matcha, Black sesame with coconut milk as a dairy substitute. They also have oat milk and soy milk. I went with their default settings for this drink because I wanted to experience their vision of this drink, and let me tell you, it is not super sweet! LOVE that! It's the right amount of sweetness to me, but you can always adjust the level of ice and sweetness to your liking. I went with the limited edition BT21 jar (blind box purchase) for $30. I love the jar :) Comes with a cleaner, glass straw, and a nice lid. Their drinks are beautifully presented with clean layers and mix nicely with each flavor complimenting each other. Ugh, YES. Finally, a place that has my top 3 favorite flavors in one drink!!! Each Galaxy drink comes with a BT21 designed cup sleeve too. My husband ordered their other Galaxy series drink: espresso, ube, and black sesame with coconut milk. Another solid choice that doesn't disappoint. My daughter ordered one of their many kid friendly drinks, dragonfruit slushy, and enjoyed it. The flavor is vibrant. It reflects the quality of this place. Photo op area, some indoor and outdoor seating, and games to enjoy with others. I really like this place and plan to come back with friends :)
We love Junbi and drove out of our way in Portland to have some. Very large space, largest I've seen yet, and I've been to 3 JunbiMatcha locations 2 kiosks to order from which makes it easy and convenient to customize your drinks. You can also order from the cashier if the kiosks are taken. There were games to play and my girls played a couple rounds of Mancala, while we waited for our drinks and while we rested a bit. I always order the guava matcha cold brew and it was good, I only wish there was more guava. D1 ordered the strawberry matcha cold brew. I was surprised to see they had food at this location- soft serve and onigiri. Worth the drive. The girls went next door to the thrift shop and I ordered another matcha cold brew, mango this time for the drive home back to WA.
The shop has a very cute interior design aesthetic, and there's a decent amount of seating. My food was tasty, but I found it a bit overly salty, and the salmon was very mild. I kind of thought at first that they'd given me the wrong food, because I was expecting to see big chunks of salmon, but instead it was very tiny pieces that were almost indiscernible. Despite all that, I enjoyed it. The boba was also very tasty, and I really liked that they used real fruit. I did struggle a little bit with how massive the lychee pieces were though, plus there was a lot of that hard, crunchy inner layer of the lychee fruit that's just kind of gross, but if you don't mind that, you'll probably love it!
This place keeps dropping as one of my favorites to one. I will no longer visit. Customer Service mediocre at best. Portion sizes of gone down to 16 ounces from 24 ounces for the Boba and the prices have gone up. At least change the picture of the product if you're going to change the size of it. Poor Customer Service, though the quality of the Matcha itself is excellent. I was charged $10 for a 16 ounce Matcha latte. That's far away the most expensive one I've had in Portland. If they were kind and considerate, I might consider paying that price, but the place is unkempt, and the staff seems distracted and/or unconcerned with their customers.
This spot has great boba. So far I've found the specials to be not as good as the standard drink options which is a bummer. There is a bts collaboration right now which is so cute. Their drinks are flavored with ube and I guess there was a problem with mixing the ube extract that they didn't warn me about before making my drink and then seemingly leaving it out. They were able to make things right after I pointed it out though. Overall I'll be back for a standard drink, and maybe to play one of their board games with my friends.

First time coming to Junbi, heard the matcha and the rice balls were good so we decided to check it out. I got the cold guava matcha latte with soy milk, definitely can taste the matcha flavor. My partner got roasted matcha Hojicha. It's a cute shop, definitely coming here to do studying but there's also games to play with some friends and enjoy drinks and food, the service too was friendly, love that they notified us that it would take time due to a big order too. Coming back to try out more matcha drinks they'd have to offer!
Nice corner Café spot. I ordered these drinks at a kiosk. There was a slight confusion on the drinks, and someone else order the same drink as me, but it was fixed quickly. The drinks are really good. Will come back from more and I highly recommend just doing the recommended sweetness! Will come back to try their softserve and other drinks!
I have been wanting to try for so long! I got a guava matcha latte with boba. So good! The guava puree is tasty but will add some texture to your drink. The matcha is good. The boba was very nice. Service was great. Lots of indoor seating. Very clean!

Located in Sellwood in SE PDX. Junbi offers soft serve ice cream, matcha drinks etc.. Nice space with a good vibe. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. read more
Environment: it was a small area but there were about 5 areas to sit for small groups. There were two touch screens for ordering and also some board games and an area to take pictures, too. Staff: got our orders ready Food: I got their ceremonial tea with nothing added but a bit of cream and also made it as lightly sweet as possible. It was nice and strong, just the way I liked it! We also got the matcha affogato. The soft serve was not as strong and rich as another matcha soft serve store. The coffee flavor was fine but I like if I go to a matcha place, I want it as simple as possible. It was slightly pricier than other places but it was good! read more

They have so many tasty and creative drinks, focusing on matchas and coffee. Their drinks are on the sweet end for sure though. The Taro Vanilla Matcha Cold Brew was very novel. You definitely feel the caffeine from it but the taro flavor worked surprisingly well. Space is very cute and staffs were very friendly. I'll be back to try their Onigiris and other treats. read more
LOVE LOVE LOVE junbi! One of the best boba places I've been in the Portland area, I come here often and my go to is the Strawberry Jasmine Tea! it's incredibly refreshing, not too sweet and the boba is extremely well made! My drink was $6.50 and imo, well worth it because of how good it tastes!! Service was great, the workers are so kind and give great recommendations too! Ambiance was nice too, can definitely get loud if you go when there's a lot of people but still very nice place! read more

tried this matcha place in socal and loved it, so i took my friends to this location. so many options and flavored matchas to choose from. my drink was slightly too sweet even though i got less sugar, so i would just be careful if you like your matcha less sweet. ordered: hojicha latte with matcha shot strawberry matcha latte rose water matcha latte read more
Once again my pharmacist at CVS decided to treat us again. This time i decided to fully check the website before i placed my order. This place seemed totally legit. The selection of food and drinks was quite extensive and far from the norm. I decided on an Iced vanilla matcha latte...yeah I know, pretty fancy, but all flavors i enjoy so I gave it a shot. After I got my drink I noticed three things. First off it was a large beverage, second the straw wasn't the standard plastic affair. It was thick paper, almost like rolled cardboard. I am along for the ride for the environmentally friendly aspect. Thirdly, and this is only "slightly" negative, but quite messy for my pharmacist, the sealed lid was incredibly hard to puncture. The lid itself was poignant with its "break the glass ceiling" ideals, but actually breaking through was more effort than it should have been. After a few thrusts, decided to grab an exacto knife and create my own incision. My pharmacist wasn't quite so creative. She ended up tipping the cup Over and spilling some of the nectar. She did laugh it off though. Overall the drink was delicious and creamy, the boba's texture was excellent and the level of ice was ideal. Quite a nice pick me up on a Friday. A+ read more
My second time at Junbi was better than the first. My first time wasn't memorable -- maybe it was because it was during their grand opening week. However, I visited for the second time and was impressed by their quality of drinks. It was refreshing with natural ingredients like the taro. My friends were impressed by their yuzu dragonfruit tea! Definitely understaffed. We waited a while for our orders. read more
I first had the Pasadena-based Junbi when I was in Honolulu, and was surprised to hear that Portland now has two matcha-specific spots: Junbi and Matcha Cafe Maiko. Junbi is the trendier sister, offering an extensive and at times overwhelming and less traditional menu of matcha goods. I mean you got drinks with yuzu, dragonfruit, mango, there's literally something for everyone. My friend and I were looking for something refreshing to quench our thirst on a hot day, and we both were pretty satisfied. Our drinks were both on the sweeter side. I was eyeing the soft serve, but the thirst was real. My friend enjoyed the Tropical Refresher (guava, mango, coconut) and I got the guava matcha latte. I really wanted the boba, but the sweet gal at the register told me they ran out :( Honestly, PLEASE boycott Starbucks and grab yourself a Junbi instead. It's so much tastier and does not support Israeli war crimes. The interior is nice and clean, we saw some families inside. They also have restrooms too. I love that there's some outdoor tables in addition to indoor seating for the dogs. Nice lil option for tea if you're in the area. But personally I'm more of a Matcha Cafe type of gal. read more

I recently visited this matcha spot after seeing it on TikTok. I'll admit, I was a little hesitant after noticing they were flagged on Yelp for buying reviews, but as an avid matcha lover, I had to see for myself. And let me tell you--this place does not disappoint. Strawberry Matcha Latte I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte, and it was so good. It leaned more on the strawberry side, which I personally love, but if you prefer a stronger matcha flavor, keep that in mind. When mixed, it had this perfect earthy-strawberry balance that I couldn't get enough of. I do like my strawberry matcha lattes sweeter, and this one definitely delivered. Vibe & Atmosphere This café is adorable. The interior is well-decorated, making it a great spot to chill or snap a cute photo. It's also in one of my favorite parts of town, which is super walkable--perfect for grabbing a drink and strolling around. Service & Experience Service was quick and friendly, and the overall experience was great. Plus, the music they had playing was on point, which is always a plus when you're enjoying your drink. Final Thoughts If you're a matcha fan, this place is definitely worth checking out. They don't just sell matcha, either--they have other fun drinks on the menu, so there's something for everyone. Really cool offerings. A million different drinks with delicious flavor options and add ons. I got the peach tea with a splash of milk and my son got the hojicha latte. Both were tasty. We got 3 of their rice balls: salmon, spam & egg, & crab. They were pretty good, a decent price and a great sized snack. I wish I had something like this closer to where I live, but I guess it's good for my wallet I don't. read more

Such a cute spot! I've known of Junbi for quite a while now and was excited to finally try it. For my first time I went with a Mango Refresher and also tried the Hibiscus Fruit Tea Refresher and Guava Matcha. All of them were delicious!! My favorite would probably be the Hibiscus one. The refreshers were cold, with such great flavor and perfect amounts of sweetness. You can also adjust sweetness levels which is really convenient. The place itself is clean, cute and a great place to hangout with friends or by yourself! Good amount of indoor seating. Oh- and there's also food options! I didn't try any this time but I'm looking forward to going back soon. Thanks Junbi! read more
I LOVE matcha but don't always like how most cafe and boba shops served it with milk. When I heard Junbi did cold brew matcha creations I was so stoked to try it! The menu is extensive, serving teas, coffees, juices, small bites, soft serve and of course, matcha. I settled on the Guava Matcha and also tried a sip of the Tropical Refresher. Both drink drinks were yummy and refreshing. The matcha flavor wasn't too strong and the guava juice really shined through. They have 3 sweetness options: more, less or none. I wish I went with none because the guava juice was sweet enough and didn't need anymore additions. They have chia seed and red bean as add-ons which you don't see often at boba shops. You can also add additional shots of espresso or matcha if you need a stronger caffeine boost. This store had some games if you want to hang out and enjoy your drink here. There's a decent amount of seating and the shop wasn't too busy either. Can't wait to come back here again to try their other items! read more
We don't live close by but I had been wanting to check Junbi out for awhile now. It's such a cute matcha shop in Sellwood. The self order kiosk is very convenient.. I got the guava cold brew matcha and requested reduced sweetness and it was perfect. Service is a little lacking and doesn't match up with the branding so deducting 1 . read more
I was super ecstatic to hear another matcha shop opening in the Portland area and love how different it is from other similar cafes! Inside of the cafe, it's fairly spacious and there is some seating with games to play! But, the tables aren't very big and probably isn't the best for hanging out (better for studying!). To order, there's a kiosk or you can order at the counter. One thing I love about this spot is that they have such a variety of different drinks--both matcha and regular teas alike--and they're all so delicious. I also love how they not only have desserts (soft-serve) but also onigiri. I've tried quite a few different drinks and they're all so high-quality. The toppings are often real fruit (depending on what you get) and the sweetness of the drinks isn't over-the-top. The onigiri is also one of the better/best onigiri I've had from a cafe, so I highly recommend! They come in three flavors and all of them are great. One thing to note about their items is that, the matcha soft-serve doesn't have an intense matcha flavor in comparison to other matcha cafes in the area, but it's still pretty good and I would definitely get again! Overall, I love what this cafe has to offer and it will definitely become a go-to spot. read more
The new craze! Junbi is definitely up there in matcha-tasting drinks. Personally I love matcha and thought that this place definitely hit the spot! .. on some of the drinks. I think some combinations are better than some, including the coffee + matcha combos. I'm elated that we have a matcha cafe in this area! I love matcha everything and they also serve other tea and soft serve too, so it's a great afternoon pick-me-up spot. We got a Madagascar Vanilla Matcha with Boba and a Dirty Matcha (matcha with a double espresso shot). They said that the vanilla is on the sweeter side, so we adjusted it to be less sweet and it was perfect. The boba was pretty good, the texture was good and had a good amount of brown sugar sweetness to it. The Dirty Matcha was something I've never had before, the espresso was a lot more prominent than the matcha but it was tasty. read more
This cute new place opened recently and I love it already! When you walk in, you can either order at the front counter with the employees or there are self-service kiosks you can order from. I got my boyfriend and I the Cold Yuzu Dragonfruit Matcha and the Cold Mango Matcha with Milk. The matcha tasted high-quality and we loved the drinks. I love how they use real fruit. My favorite thing however was the onigiri! It is made to order and was delicious. I ordered a onigiri flight which contains 3 onigiri; mentaiko, salmon, and spam & egg. They have the seaweed on the side which is a great idea because that way it doesn't get soggy. This place will now be my go-to for my onigiri cravings! The only thing I would say is if you order a onigiri it might take a while. My second onigiri flight came out 30 minutes later, but then again it was their soft opening and they had about 20 people come in at once so I gave them five stars anyways. Also, the store doesn't have a parking lot so expect to park on the street. Other than that, I would definitely stop by if I'm ever in the neighborhood. read more
