We came across this looking for food for delivery and it just really grabbed our attention. The strawberry matcha caught my eye with it's beautiful colors but it also tastes amazing. I prefer cold and now my partner also realizes he prefers their cold drinks to hot. They have a lot of variety to choose from. I tried Junbi again and some new different drinks - milky matcha and strawberry matcha and their flight of rice balls. The last time I got the rice balls, I really liked them. This time the rice was dry, meaning they probably didn't add enough water to the rice to cook or it's older rice. Anyways, the rice ball pretty much fell apart when I took a bite or tried to unwrap it and add it to the seaweed. It also looked different from the one I got at their soft opening, flavors tasted a little different too, but were decent. The milky matcha with boba was good. We asked for less sweet which was perfect, the boba was chewy and fresh. The strawberry matcha was good too. Nice balance of matcha and a hint of strawberry flavor. read more

First off, I would like to think the kind staff which welcome me every time I come in (which is very repetitively). I don't want to admit how much money and time I have spent here, because it is quite a lot. But it is well worth it every time. Each collaboration is cuter than the next, it totally reflects Portland's wide range of culture and backgrounds, I can't stop excessively thinking of the matcha that melts all my sadness, and the games that fuel the fun (including guess who, which I now associate with the Junbi salmon rice balls which are also a hit). I visited Junbi for the first time during this past weekend. It had a large menu which included many matcha drinks, milk teas, fruit teas, coffee drinks, seasonal special drinks, a few savory food items , and soft serve. The employees working were friendly and the store was nice. I got the lavender honey matcha cold brew with regular ice, vanilla cold cap, a splash of milk and less sweet. The drink was a little too sweet for me and the lavender overpowered the matcha. I do recommend checking them out if you are in the area. I think I would like this place more if I tried a different menu item. Overall, it's a good addition to Portland's tea scene. read more

Overall I would give this location a 3.5 stars. There were a few things that really dampened my experience. We came specifically for the Miffy collab because my daughter loves Miffy and even brought her Miffy with us! But they did not have any Miffy drinks available on the Tuesday at lunchtime following the launch weekend. Also..$1.25 for alternative milk??! That is just robbery. Adding on to the guy helping me did not have the best customer service and seemed lost. After I ordered the Salmon Rice Bowl he didn't say anything and just went to the back and came back within a minute after talking with who I assume is the manager for guidance. I will give him some grace for being in training but good thing we weren't in a hurry or I wouldn't be as patient. However, the Strawberry Matcha drink I got was tasty and pretty after adjusting for ice and sweetness. The Salmon Rice Bowl had a little too many pickled things but overall filling for being $11. We might consider coming back another time and give it another chance. read more

Junbi has great drinks and food!! I recently got their flight or the trio onigiri, and it was delicious! A little bit on the saltier side but it was packed with lots of filling. I got the salmon, spam and the mentaiko. My favorite one was the mentaiko (little cod roe), as for drinks - I got the cold yuzu dragonfruit matcha cold brew- it was extremely refreshing. The ambiance of the place is super yellow and aesthetic. Very cute place to take photos, but wish they had more seating. Great location! We took our cousins here and we each got something different. We love how fresh the tea and the fruit are. Some of us wanted something less sweet or less caffeinated and the staff was knowledgeable and pointed out different options. Their drinks are fresh and colorful. The matcha quality is delicious and this place is much needed in the Sellwood Moreland neighborhood. We've been here three times since it opened. The grand opening day went pretty smooth. We ordered the trio of Musubi and the flavor combos were so good. I wish it had a touch more filling vs rice but we loved being able to wrap it in the seaweed ourselves. read more

Solid bubble tea and matcha addition to the Portland boba/matcha scene! I ordered drinks online to pick up before work and they were totally on top of having things ready at the correct pick up time. Super easy to swing by and pick up the drinks at a separate spot so you didn't have to wait in line for it to get less busy. My only feedback is please get better cup holders for multiple drinks -- the cardboard felt so so flimsy and led to some near spills in my car. The drinks just felt too large/tall for the weight of the cardboard cupholder. Now on to the drinks -- I am a huuuuge fan of strawberry matcha lattes so I was super excited to get it here. My friend got a guava drink, a milk tea, and an americano and all their liked respective items! I will say that I wish my drink had been less watery and also had a little bit more of a strawberry component. Overall I would say it was a good drink but not the best strawberry matcha I have ever had. My friends didn't too much to add but the boba was a tad on the hard side imo. The perfect chewy texture was somewhat off. Price wise, I will say things are expensive but the drinks are large and I think it's pretty much the market/cost currently. Yikes. I really wanted to like this place since I'm a huge matcha fan and haven't found any good matcha spots in Portland. This by far has been the worst matcha I have ever had. The shop alone is beautiful and employees are nice but the drinks are not good. My first red flag was that it took less than 1 min to make the drink. Now this may not seem like an issue, but this makes me believe that the matcha isn't fresh, it's probably a large batch of matcha that is made for quicker service. My second red flag was the color of my drink. It was a pale yellow... which is so off. 3rd, my drink was not consumable. I asked for it to be less sweet than their normal and when I took the first sip it tasted like I was drinking out of a bottle of simple syrup. There was no matcha taste whatsoever. Interesting place for sure. Got an egg and spam rice ball and a strawberry matcha latte. The food was pretty good. It was perfect for a little snack lunch. The drink was a bit of a struggle to not get just strawberry syrup as it was thicker at the bottom. Towards the end of the drink, it was mostly unsweetened matcha. The shop is very cute and very instagram ready and had cute little seats to enjoy. I didn't really do this, as I felt a bit like the staff was not wanting anyone inside. I ordered a strawberry matcha (normal everything) and the madagascar vanilla latte (extra sweet) and the spam and egg onigiri. The strawberry matcha was just ok and not too sweet so i would suggest ordering extra sweet. The madagascar vanilla latte extra sweet was perfect. The onigiri was small and meh, but this is mostly a matcha tea place so i didn't really expect much on food. The second time I went, I ordered the yuzu dragonfruit matcha as well as the dirty early grey both on normal ice and sweetness. I was a little disappointed on the yuzu dragon fruit matcha as it was a bit bland and couldn't taste the yuzu or the dragonfruit much. Maybe if i had done extra sweetness it would be different? i was super excited to try junbi and they did not disappoint! i love how vibrant and open the space is. it feels super clean and it's a nice spot to sit and chat with friends. the worker was super friendly and our drinks came out super quickly. i got their mango matcha fresca with half sweetness because i heard the worker recommend to my friend to lower the sweetness. this was good advice because it was perfectly sweet to me. i also added lychee but i'm a little surprised because i expected it to be lychee jelly and instead it was small bits of lychee? i still really enjoyed my drink though and i would love to come back for their other drinks! read more

this is my wife's favorite ice cream spot at the moment, so that means it's our family's favorite spot and we will consistently come here for the time being, right? anyway, it's good. the soft serve is good and the topping options are good and there are no complaints. i usually get the strawberry cream smoothie drink with the boba and it is very very delicious. even "less sweet" option on the drink is very good and sweet enough. just overall tastes great. and the one food item of the rice balls were damn good too. need to go back and try that again. and they have board and card games there too so that's cool. read more

I've tried a few drinks now, and all of them have been up to par. For the most part, the drinks are prepared quickly and I've never waited long for my order. It's a cute location with some seating inside and outside if you wanted to hang out. I have seen people working/studying here as well.
