I ordered a ube/mochi boba drink and it was really good the flavor was balanced perfectly and the boba had a great chewy texture (not too soft, not too hard). The service was great as well. The staff were friendly, patient, and made the whole experience feel welcoming. I also loved the vibe of the place. It's comfortable and cozy definitely a good spot for people who like to study, work on their laptops, or just relax with a drink. The atmosphere makes it easy to stay awhile. soooo good! parking is a bit difficult but it is less busy behind the building, so i recommend finding a spot there. this is a cute space to hang and catch up with friends, but i would not recommend doing work here because the tables are tiny and they sit at a low height. i got the double matcha and it was sooooo good. it was the perfect amount of sweetness and the flavor of the matcha was so good. i would 100% recommend coming here and trying that drink. i tried a sip of their limited edition cookie matcha but that was not for it. it was a little too caramel-y in my opinion. the worker was very kind and waited patiently for us to decide on our order. read more

Opted to go for ube matcha, w/ regular sweetness and 50% ice. Delicious! I was surprised that it wasn't sweet at all, given that most ube drinks are. Staff was friendly and interior was nicely decorated. They had some pretty charms, plushies, and other stuff for retail. Parking can be a hassle, had to circle a few times to find parking but the store is located at the end of the street, w/ a unique black and white sign (could easily miss if you're quickly glancing for it). $9.25 Duricado (Durian & Avocado). It's literally avocado shake with a hint of durian flavored cream. It's not fresh/frozen durian anymore. It was good a year ago with mostly frozen durian in it and it is the reason why I came back from CA and ordered it but I'm very disappointed. 2 other drinks were well below average, mostly ice and weak. We visited Yoonique Tea looking to satisfy a boba fix after seeing some recommendations. I thought it would be a Korean run shop, given the name, but I think it's actually Vietnamese? Whatever the case, we only got a single drink since we were still full from lunch. Earl Grey Milk Tea, 50% Sugar, 50% Ice w/ Honey Boba ($7) - Starting with the drink: There's an exceptionally sharp and harsh, and almost chemical-like earl grey flavor infesting this drink. I went into this boba shop thinking that they brew fresh tea given how many types they have on the menu, but on my very first sip I quickly changed my mind - they most likely use powder in some drinks and tea syrups or concentrates in others. The milk tea is completely over-saturated with flavoring, resulting in a concoction that is exceptionally unpleasant to drink. I had to dump some of it out and add Lipton black tea (the only tea I had available at the time) in an attempt to dilute the flavor. I added about 8oz into the drink. While that tempered the sweetness, the harsh flavor was still noticeable especially in the aftertaste. They give a lot of boba with the drink but it's not good. The boba keeps its shape, but is exceptionally mushy in texture, resulting in pearls that are completely lacking in chew or bounce. One light bite completely slices through the boba. It's almost like jelly in texture, but not as clean of a bite. The pearls are completely misshapen, with crags and valleys dotting the entire surfaces. I haven't had boba with such a poor cook in a long while. They also claim it's honey boba, but it doesn't feel like it considering that there's no stickiness or any honey sweetness to suggest they soak it in anything at all. I wonder if this is perhaps boba from the previous day they tried to revive, because simply overcooking boba typically doesn't result in this texture. Milk Tea Rating: 1/5 Boba Rating: 1/5 Just a couple of days prior, I visited a boba shop where I received a drink that was so bad that I could not imagine that I would receive an even worse one just a couple of days later. That one, at least I thought I could salvage it by adding additional tea; this one couldn't be rescued at all. Yoonique serves some of the worst boba I've ever had the misfortune of drinking. Or perhaps I should say sipping, because I only had a couple of sips before I tossed the drink out. And just to be clear, that's not something I do lightly. Nor do I give 1/5 ratings very lightly. I drink a lot of boba, hundreds of drinks a year and this is among the worst I have had. I highly, highly recommend staying away from this shop. J Way instant boba kits that you can find in some grocery stores are far better than what I received here. Edit: The owner has responded. I want to emphasize that my notes above are my own opinion based on a single drink during a single visit. It is possible that the bobarista screwed up this one drink and they are normally better. I can only report my own personal experience, where I received a drink that tasted unlike any brewed 100% tea leaf earl grey I've ever had, and tapioca that had a texture as if were made the previous day and reused. Then again, given how high the ratings are for this place, most people do seen to enjoy the drinks here. Make of that what you will. read more

Stopped by here on a whim because it was on the way back to our car after deciding to go somewhere else for dinner than our original spot. So glad our group stopped here! My husband is a *huge* ube fan, so he was excited when their top drink was the ube w fresh milk. I got the mango yakult, and the other individual got the lychee yakult. All drinks were delicious! The boba here are perfectly chewy through and through and not too large. The flavors are incredible and taste fresh. I do like that for most of the drinks here you can adjust sweetness/ice level! I got my mango yakult at 30% sweetness and 50% ice. I would probably do 30% ice next time and maybe even less sugar because it was still sweet, though I am currently pregnant and in general things taste overly sweet to me right now. read more

This spot is one of the better joints in Portland where their seasonal drinks are actually unique. I usually get the Banana Brown Sugar and it's consistently good if you like banana. And its interior is nice and cozy if you need to sit down and chill. Only reason I'm giving them three stars is because they auto tip themselves 20% when they don't give you a chance to tip. This happened the last two times so it's just bad business. First time, bought two drinks and total was supposed to be $15 but my card statement was $17 when I checked later. I asked a few questions since I'm less familiar with fancy milk tea options and they were helpful. I got a peach milk tea with pandan boba. They didn't ask what sweetness level I wanted, but it was well balanced. It was a nicely sweetened tea (not a bowl of sugar milk after the cereal is gone). The peach, milk and tea are also well balanced. I'm excited to come back for more. Super yum! The velvet arm chairs are comfy for reading a book. I ordered a passion fruit green tea with boba at 30% sugar. Boba was way too overcooked. Super mushy. Tea was overly sweet when it was only at 30%. With the boba consistency the way it was, it made it very difficult to drink. Tossed it halfway through. Tea flavor was nonexistent too. Ambiance of the space inside was nice. They do have their own unique flavor blends, such as pandan, toasted coconut, etc. other than that, a typical boba shop. They have a no/minimal ice option but your drink will not be filled to the top. They use sturdy plastic cups, but it's sturdy enough that you can repurpose it. The sitting space is large. I got the Peanut Butter Milk Tea as I never seen this combination before (really lives up to the name) and I love peanut butter! Parking : Street There was a nice seating area that was decorated. The place was really cute. They sell stickers and other items as well. Peanut Butter Milk Tea : It was really good! I could definitely taste the peanut butter. The milk tea was creamy and had a good aroma of tea. Only thing is I wish it was easier to mix the peanut butter in the drink as a lot of it was stuck on the side of the cup. I think the last time I came here was an off day, because I have come twice since (with friends who recommended it), and it has been amazing. Last time I got a fruit tea and they were quick and the drink itself was light, refreshing, and perfect on a warmer day. Went here for the first time today, and ordered an $8.25 drink, which tasted great! But, I handed my card to the girl behind the counter, and after she tapped it and handed it back, I get a notification from my bank (as I do for all purchases) that my card had been charged $9.90, even though I was never given the opportunity to tip by the worker. I visited Yoonique Tea several weeks ago. I had a great experience. There's street parking. The interior is cute and the service was great. During this visit, I got my drink to go but I could see myself hanging out there in the future. There's quite a large menu. I had a difficult time deciding on a drink. I ended up getting a Coco- Pandan Milk Tea which was one of the specials. I got custard flan in it. I'm not sure if it's like this for all the special drinks but the sweetness level could not be adjusted. Nerveless, I enjoyed my drink and the sweetness was mid level in my opinion. I really liked that custard flan. I didn't notice any tea taste though. The coconut and the vanilla like flavor of the Pandan meshed well. Really wanted to love this tea spot. I tried their drinks twice, but were not impressed with neither drinks. Their tea is just not good to me and the one I had today had a very artificial taste. I don't recommend the Thai green tea with sea cream or the granola milk tea (ones I've tried). I was surprised that the Thai green tea came out looking like matcha because green tea doesn't make it that color..nor the Thai tea leaves. Not sure why they put color in to make it look like that. My cousin had one of their fruit teas today and there was actually a tea bag in it (weird that their tea was not already brewed) with barely any fruit in it like they showed in the picture. The shop itself is super cute and aesthetic, but the tea just doesn't do it for me. The location of the shop is not great either. It's at a corner spot on foster and very easy to miss. If you like to actually taste your tea in your drinks, I'd say skip this place. If you are looking for a cute spot to hang out though, come by and check it out. read more

I truly had more hope for Yoonique Tea and though the interior is really cute, the boba inside their drinks is too much of a letdown for me to rank it higher than a 3/5. I dropped by this place on a Sunday with a friend and it was pretty empty expect for the 2 of us. The cashier was friendly and open to explaining the different drinks to us, but sadly they didn't have a strawberry matcha for me to try so I went with a different fruit tea instead. Adjusted the sugar a bit and got less ice -- and OF COURSE I added boba to my drink. The letdown for me was really the texture of the tapioca balls aka balls overcooked to the point of falling apart with some chunky hard to chew parts, but overall overcooked. It just wasn't pleasant and honestly for these prices, I expect perfection. It was almost $6 a drink so come on, you have to give me some good boba to account for that price. Service is friendly, the interior is cute, and there are some cool food carts just across the street, but otherwise, you legitimately have better boba options in Beaverton and even a couple more in the city. read more

I've been coming here more recently in the past year and I'm growing to like it. The menu is definitely "yoonique" in comparison to others, offering flavors I have never seen anywhere else. I very much enjoy the milkaholic brown sugar series with the banana milk. I've had it multiple times now and it's consistenty good! I went here to helpy daughter support a friend of hers who was promoting some items she wanted to sell to the boba customers. I ordered a King Fruit Tea and my wife had the Lemongrass. The drinks were quite refreshing even for a cloudy and overcast day. The ambiance of the tea place felt college-like and very decorative. The seats are so inviting and you can just melt away in the seats or enjoy a book to read. This place is located in a unique area so to speak. The prices were sub $6 which I felt really affordable. Heard good things about Yoonique tea and I had to try it. I had the crème brulee boba and it was very milky, too milky. It tasted like it was 95% milk and a whisper of crème brulee. My friend had the same comment about her drink as well. Prices are decent for boba. It's a really cute space, and it's really clean, but the music was so loud it was impossible to sit and talk in there without speaking at a slight scream yell volume. There are some tables and I could see the potential to go and work or study there if it wasn't for the loud music. read more

I was pretty underwhelmed by my experience here. The shop itself is very cute with a nice seating area. I found the menu a bit disjointed and confusing. I'd recommend looking at the on-line menu, which offers a description of each drink. Although the Milkaholic drinks come with boba already, that is not clear on the in person menu. It is also confusing as to which drinks have tea and which ones don't--there's a mix of tea and non-tea drinks in each category. About 10 minutes after I ordered, I was informed they were out of avocado (would have been nice if they'd known at the time of ordering), so I could not get the Duricado drink. I asked if I could get the Durian Creme Milk Tea instead. They said no, as they were out of the durian powder. I ended up getting the brown sugar boba milk tea, no ice. It was fine, but there was a gap in my cup since I didn't get ice, whereas many other boba shops will fill your cup all the way if you get no ice. Boba was a little in the hard side. They also don't offer sweetness options. There are better shops with less confusing menus that fill your cup if you don't get ice and don't charge 75 cents or more for toppings. read more

My mistake for not checking while in the store but they ended charging me an extra 4 bucks without my consent. So make sure you check your transactions and make sure the total matches what they say. Yoonique is one of my dependable bubble tea spots in SE Portland. Their location is conveniently located at the corner where there's lots of street parking both in the front and in the back in the surrounding neighborhood. The space is super cute. It's always decorated with seasonal decorations and the vibes are reminiscent of a cozy library with bookshelves and art pieces. Also, the shop also acts as a small store with enamel pins and snacks. The staff is also very friendly and nice. They sometimes have even host Kpop cup sleeve events! I really like their drinks here too. I got their Thai Green Seasalt Milk Tea, and it was delicious! I've gotten several other drinks in the past I've enjoyed too. Their boba was only okay this time around however. It was a little undercooked so it was harder than I would have liked. My partner also got the Coco Pandan Latte. It was pretty good, but the coconut flavor was strong compared to the pandan flavor that I was looking for.
