An international chain spanning from Taiwan to Australia, Ding Tea has won a superior taste award in 2018, as proudly displayed on their drink lids. Unfortunately, their drinks don't really deliver quality taste. We ordered the signature milk tea with boba and winter melon milk tea with grass jelly (both with no ice, 30% sugar) but they were both too sweet and lacked any tea flavor. The boba balls were slightly too hard, as if they were sitting out for a few hours (as boba quickly depreciates after being cooked). The service was quick and they were very friendly. The music playing was kpop which was quite loud. They have high tables and stools, which is ok to sit at for a bit but hurts after a while with no backing or padding. I went with no sweetness and it's great! Their bobas were also nice and chewy. Medium size was good to satisfy my craving, they go pretty hard with the boba mount. You can also try their taiyakis which are made fresh to order. We loved that they're hot and crispy. Visiting from out of town and came in with a group of about seven people. Two of us ordered at the main counter while the rest used the kiosk. At the time, there was only one employee working the front, brunette woman with septum piercing. All of us received our drinks except one. The employee called out a "brown sugar tea," but we had ordered an oolong tea with boba. We were clearly confused, and instead of clarifying, she continued to repeat "brown sugar tea" while staring at us. When my coworker went up to ask about it, the employee said that's what came through the kiosk, even though the drink had been ordered directly with her. The interaction felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude. We waited, assuming maybe the oolong was still being made, but there was no communication. When another employee returned, the first employee openly talked about our group while we were standing right there. We went up one more time for clarification and were again told that was the order. Overall, the employee was irritable, dismissive, and openly unprofessional. We were made to feel like an inconvenience for simply ordering and asking for clarification. Despite being polite and patient, there was no effort to communicate, fix the mistake, or provide basic customer service. Talking about customers within earshot and refusing to take accountability is unacceptable. Unfortunately, this experience left a very poor impression and is not a place I would recommend based on service alone. read more

The smaller size for the tea drinks start at $3.50 and $4.00 for the larger size, but for most drinks like the milk teas it's $4.25 and $4.75. There are a wide variety of the flavors for the drinks; I counted at least 19 for the milk teas alone. Milk tea flavors include: matcha, Thai, vanilla, Jasmine and etc. you can also make your own custom drink in terms of sugar level and the amount of ice. I know this is going to sound even more uninformed than I have already demonstrated myself to be, but most of the boba tea drinks are caffeinated. Make note if you are not a caffeine drinker or have a pre-teen. With this in mind, we steer our daughter toward the drinks made with yogurt. I've gone to Ding Tea three times so far and it's on par with California milk tea shops. I'm aware that Ding Tea is a chain but this location is the first time that I visited a Ding Tea shop. The drinks that I have gotten are the chocolate milk tea, lychee milk tea and the oolong milk tea. I got the chocolate milk tea with pudding. It is good with a good balance of chocolate and tea flavor. I got slight sweet (30%) for the sugar level and I was happy with the level of sweetness. The pudding is great. I got the lychee milk tea with coconut jelly. The lychee milk tea has a perfect amount of lychee flavor and the coconut jelly works well in it. I got the oolong milk tea with lychee jelly and at slight sweet (30%) as well. The oolong tea has a medium level of strength and the lychee jelly works well with it. I recommend getting less ice in all of the drinks, otherwise, it's too much ice in the drink. The oolong milk tea was the drink that I enjoyed the most. The service is good and the workers are friendly. The menu is also extensive! They don't have seating inside at this time so it's take out only spot. Since moving here from Sacramento, I've been on the hunt for a solid boba place. Ding Tea was one of my fav spots back home so I was very excited to try this spot out! I ordered my go-to: Hokkaido Oolong Milk Tea with boba. Service was good, drink was made fast. But I will say - even with no sweetness adjustment, it tasted less creamy (more watered down) in comparison to the many times I had it in Sac, which was a bit disappointing. Other than that, the boba was on point- not too soft, not too hard. I don't think I'd venture out for this again, but I would get it if I were in the area and craving boba. Though, I was filled with disappointment to find out that they weren't open yet as I walked closer. I did come back several weeks later when they finally opened! The bubble tea at this location had me keep coming back for more! The location is conveniently on PSU campus and when this location was open before COVID, the indoor seating was a really comfortable place to sit and chat with your friends. I've tried a lot of the teas here and they all have their own delicious flavor. I always adjust the ice and sugar level so the flavor is perfect for me since I don't like my drinks too sweet. The top fruit tea that I got with coconut jelly (50% sugar) was really good, but was slightly still really sweet. The taro milk tea, monster boba, jasmine green milk tea, and lychee green tea are some of my favorites here. For toppings, I really like the crystal boba, pudding and grass jelly. I will come back again to try their lattes and hot drinks. The cashier that works at this location was really friendly too! She seemed happy to take my order and give me recommendations. When the indoor seating was open before, there were some cashiers who weren't friendly at all and made the shop really uninviting. They looked so unhappy to work there.
