One of our favourite places. Love the Taiwanese popcorn chicken. The unagi is great. The deep fried squid is great. My kids love the curly fries. My family also loves the boba and tea drinks. The service here is impeccable. I had been enjoying the Taiwanese Popcorn chicken and asked one time if it had dairy since my wife has an allergy and I hoped she could enjoy it. The employee checked with the cook and brought out the package for the flour they use and showed me while stating there was no dairy including butter, casein, or whey. I was blown away that they knew to check for casein and whey which can trigger the dairy protein allergy (and are in so many goods). Now one of my wife's favourite spots (and the rest of the family as well). The shop is a really nice space and I like they new benches and tables they recently added. read more

There are several locations of T4 shops in this area. This location is currently my favorite. The drinks made here seem to be stronger in flavor and therefore taste better to me. Who wants to pay for weak watered down tea? Not me. They do not charge extra for "no ice" and their overall prices are quite reasonable compared to some other tea shops. The menu has a great assortment of tea drinks and non tea drinks along with all the usual toppings. There is also a selection of food items including my favorite, bubble waffle. Service is prompt and friendly. There is seating available inside and outside as well. They also offer delivery thru GH. Highly recommend! read more

I may not be Taiwanese, but them advertising 'Authentic Taiwan Taste' is a stretch. I visited this boba shop around 6pm on a Sunday for a refreshing drink. I ordered the Mango Royal Tea with Coconut Jelly. First disappointing this was even though I ordered coconut jelly, I got lychee jelly instead. Sipping on the drink was sweet and refreshing, but the mango flavor tasted so artificial and even chemically. However, my drink was not as worst as my friend's . She ordered a berry smoothie, but it turned out to be more of a slushie. There were huge ice chunks in it which were not very enjoyable and made it hard to drink. I feel as if our drinks weren't put much effort into since they were wrapping up for the day, but that really isn't an excuse for serving quality drinks. I would not recommend this spot as a good boba option in Portland. read more

This review is for their ramen noodles with wonton. I added corn, eggs, porky belly, and some hot chili oil. It was a very delicious bowl of ramen, especially for the fact that it came out of a boba shop. Flavorful and super satisfying. It was lovely eating my bowl of ramen on a cold day, sitting on the stool by the window. read more

I've been looking for new places to eat lunch and this is a good one. Smith Teamaker doesn't serve any food, but T4 next door does. I ordered an Earl Grey tea and Taiwanese popcorn chicken. I didn't specify hot or cold; they gave me iced tea probably because it's July? Or that could just be the way it is. I've never been to a tea place before. The popcorn chicken was a surprise, very tasty, and a big portion with sweet & sour sauce. The tea was very good too. I waited about 10 minutes. This store used to be Moonstruck Chocolate and has retained the same general layout. That's the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Their menu makes them almost a restaurant, but they only have 4 small tables (2 chairs each) and one large table (8 or 10 chairs). They could put stools all along the south wall with one long ledge "table" and would probably fit 15 people that way instead of 8. Anyway, I'll try to go when it's not busy. read more

I ordered a taro milkshake and it was very chalky - my shake wasn't blended well as I had clumps of ice and taro powder when I took a sip. The place was clean and I liked the happy hour pricing, otherwise that was quite honestly the worst taro I've had read more

So I walked in to get a bowl of Ramen. I was literally the only customer in the place. A person working behind the counter was busy cleaning something up and said something to me like, I can take your order at the cash register. Ok fine. I was standing right next to the cash register. I replied, no problem I'm not in a hurry. They again told me I was standing in the wrong place. They started to lecture me about why I was standing in the wrong place whatever -I'm the only person in here, shrug. Arm gesture toward and almost touching said cash register... Again, while they were still doing other chores and not ready to help me actually order a bowl of Ramen, they continued to tell me why I was being inappropriate and standing in the wrong place. I've just had it with this abusive attitude toward customers. like it's not necessary to be so rulsey, particular, weirdly controlling and not helpful... it's Portland, I know the game, at this point I'm supposed to bend over backwards and do whatever this person needs because they might be having a bad day, because they are unique, because they need me to make them more comfortable. It's rude and it's really not OK to treat people like this. And you know what, I too, might've been having a hard day. Having just come from my appointment at the hospital. I just looked at this person. Didn't say a word and turned around and left. If you are that uncomfortable in public or OCD or petty power tripping, controlling whatever - you don't belong working in food service. It's not complicated and places that aren't polite and don't employ common sense and just basic manners, are earning losing customers. It's just not OK to treat each other like this. And it's commonplace. My sincere hope is that people reading this review will realize that you have a choice of where to eat, especially in Portland. It sounds like other reviewers here had similar issues and if these places can't hire some nice people to work there then maybe we need fewer places to eat out because they don't really deserve our business. Even special snowflakes have to learn how to create new behaviors to keep a job. read more

Great place! Randomly found this spot while I was craving boba. I love this place, would definitely come back if I go back. Service was great. I tried their tofu and popcorn chicken. Tea was great and had great options read more

The boba itself was delicious. The jasmine green milk tea had the perfect flavor. I ordered 30% sweet and it was just at the right level for one drink and slightly sweeter than normal (when I order from t4) but still pretty good. The sweet potato fries were okay, flavorless and bland without salt or any seasoning, so we asked for salt which the staff gave us happily. The service is pretty good, they are nice. read more

Clean and bright. The service was great! The food was flavorful for a tea house. We had the pot stickers, they were crispy and the dipping sauce was good. Came here for an afternoon break before heading up the mountain for sunset views. It's located in a hipster area with all that expensive outdoor gear stores. They have small table outside if you wanna sit outside and plenty of tables inside. Parking: paid street meters They have a good amount of drinks but since it was my first time I went with the basics. Green milk tea with small boba 50% sugar and light ice. The drink itself was pretty tasty and the boba was chewy. Compared to other boba shops, 50% sugar was very light here, I felt like I was basically drinking milk. Solid spot to get some boba! I've heard of T4 as a decent chain spot and thought it would be a good place to get some boba since I'm new to this area. It is definitely a good spot to get some classic milk teas, fruit tea drinks, and smoothies. They also have snacks that I'm definitely going to come back for and try. I got the snow globe which is an earl gray milk tea with soft clear boba. The drink was good not too sweet at 80% sugar and the clear boba offered a nice solid bite along side the normal chewy boba. T4 is located in the hip area of 23rd street off burnside. it can be busy during the weekends, but today that space was very empty. we ordered the caramel milk tea with coffee jelly 80% and no alterations to the sugar and the featured amber pearl latte with half sugar and 80% ice. both drinks were delicious! we loved the options to customize ice and sugar to our liking. i love things super sweet and my partner doesn't. a win-win! it's paid parking on the streets so i recommend parking or leaving your car and just walk up and down 23rd. they don't carry cash and operate cashless due to a recent break-in so card/tap pay only! space is large and the offer outside seating for sunny days like today. cutest shop that also offers snacks to compliment your boba! we loved it here!! read more

My friend never tried taiwanese popcorn chicken, so I just had to put her on the goods. There was no line since it was around 3pm-ish and I ordered one Popcorn chicken with zero spiciness. Even though I ordered no spicy, there is still a kick to 'em that I like. My order took about 10 minutes, but the chicken came out hot and juicy...so no complaints about the wait time. Always get the sweet and sour sauce and extra napkins when offered. My friend and I shared the order and it didn't take us long to finish it all. I think I can proudly say there is a new fan of popcorn chicken from T4. read more

I ordered the matcha with fresh milk, 50% sweetness, with added boba. I wish I could give this a higher rating, but unfortunately at the first sip the matcha tasted weak and was too diluted by the milk. Although, I found 50% sweetness to be the perfect balance, so I could imagine that the regular sweetness would be very sweet. The tapioca pearls were perfect, very soft and chewy. I was pleasantly surprised to find them still soft after leaving my drink in my car while I went to Trader Joe's, Muji, and Target. As for the serve, they were phenomenal. They were very friendly and stroke up a conversation with me easily. After I paid, my drink was ready in a few minutes! I definitely want to come back and give this place another chance and maybe order one of their more popular drinks. read more

boba is good. had the tonkotsu udon two weeks ago, got food poisoning, and am still dealing with stomach pain. dont get the food!

The bubble tea was great and I love that they have an option to pick your sweetness and how much Ice you prefer . The menu had a lot of options but I felt it was limited for the non -milk teas .I chose the Royal Mango tea with lychee Jelly and it was just the thing you need on a warm sultry afternoon like this. It also is one of their top sellers and almost everyone that was in the store with me , ordered one .The service was average as it took them some time to get my order out and the lady taking the order was curt and to the point . No smiles or pleasantries exchanged .The space is huge and has very limited seating .Their is some seating outdoors as well . read more

Cute and airy design. It's located in a shopping district so parking may be hard to find. This was the first inflexible boba place I've encountered-- told I cannot have honey in my Jasmine milk tea....why not? The rude staff left me waiting they talked on the phone. Once I inquired about my order I was told - that I did not tell her I was there. Literally the only person waiting in the facility. I was disappointed that the lobster balls tasted like fried artificial crab. The boba was fresh and the sweetness was on par with other sellers, but I'll avoid this location and stick to the polite professionals all over town. read more

Interior: not a great place to hang out if you want to social distance but who cares? You're getting your stuff and leaving anyway. Food: Tried the octopus balls and I wasn't a fan of the fact that the dough was slightly gummy in the interior. Otherwise fine, but be prepared for a slightly sweet sauce to be applied liberally unless you check that impulse. Fried chicken pieces were fine but am used to significantly hotter and for them to be shaken in a hot coating. Alternatively, here it comes with a thin hot/sweet sauce. Pro tip: pour the sauce all over the chicken and close the container. Cover top with a napkin squeeze it shut as you gently shake the box. Drinks: I love that you can customize. Boba well cooked and delicious! Friend got the fresh lime drink with mint and it was refreshing and perfect for a hot day. read more

idk why i went to T4 when i have T4 back at home. i wanted to go to the portal tea room but as i was looking at the menu the teas and items on the menu did not intrigue me. also the milk tea there is powder so my friends were like why not go tot T4 because at least that's real tea. we went and the mango coconut milk with green tea jelly & angel pearl was calling to me even though that was the most expensive thing on the menu and i didn't know what tf angel pearl was. but i ordered and it came out pretty quickly. and omg it was so good. like genuinely wow. it literally tasted so familiar and gave me a sense of nostalgia like a religious experience LOL. that's how good it was. and angel pearl is literally just crystal boba like bro name it right. but yeah, if i go again i would get the same thing because the mango coconut milk was so good but if ima be honest, i probably could make that on my own. but 5 stars none the less. read more

Terrible service. After 10 minutes of waiting, I finally asked where my drink was. The kid with the red hair looked at me awkwardly and then I saw him start to actually make it. It was still another ten minutes. Two young people working at half speed when there were five customers in the store. Really abysmal. Came in Saturday night for boba and some light snacks like their popcorn chicken. When I tried to order food the cashier said their kitchen is closed for the night already, mind you they don't close for another hour and there was no sign indicating that.
