First of all the food was amazing. So flavorful, cooked to perfection and same with the drinks 10/10. The issue began with the parking situation. This was our first time here so we were a little confused about the parking situation so we were trying to ask the valet where we needed to park and he was pretty rude, as if we were bothering him. Mind you, the parking lot was pretty empty, just every space was blocked off by cones. Secondly, the service could have been better. The waitress wasn't very attentive to refilling our water glasses, and we felt rushed, even though we had a reservation. She came over, grabbed our sweet potato's and asked the table who wanted the last bite, and proceeded to scrape them into a persons plate at the table who didn't even order them. It's like she was in a hurry to clear the table, when we hadn't even had our food that long. Also, gratuity is included. My wife chose this place for our anniversary dinner. It's best to have reservations to get in. It's located in the galleria area. When you arrive you will find out it is valet parking only. Either $10 or $20? The front had a facade that resembles a movie theater. Once you enter it looks like a movie lobby then you are led into the bar area where there is table seating on both sides as week as a rest area with more seating and booths. Our table had done flavored popcorn to snack on while you await your order. I ordered a New York strip and Juliet potatoes, my wife ordered lobster tails and sweet potatoes. We also ordered two drinks which they delivered first. It didn't seem like it took a long time for the food to come out and my steak was delicious. It was a medium and cut like butter and it melted in my mouth. The two sides were enough for two people each so we had leftovers to take home. The ambience was very nice. I've been to Juliet before and had a wonderful experience, which is why I recommended it for a recent team dinner. Unfortunately, this visit was a completely different story. When I arrived, the staff at the front were rude and dismissive. I was almost denied entry because I was wearing flat sandals--despite the fact that their dress code does not mention anything about sandals being inappropriate. A hostess looked me up and down and asked, "Don't you have heels in your car?" which felt incredibly condescending and inappropriate. When my coworker spoke to the manager, his response was, "We can't list everything on the dress code." It wasn't until it became clear that our large party was about to leave--and take our business elsewhere--that they suddenly decided I could be allowed in. What's even more frustrating is that I've dined here before with someone wearing flat sandals, and it was never an issue. To be clear, our waiter was fantastic and the food was excellent, as always. But the way I was treated at the door left a really bad taste in my mouth. I won't be dining here again, and I won't be recommending Juliet to anyone else moving forward. Must say at every part of the meal they came through with it!! This is one place that I can definitely say passes the vibe and taste test! When we first pulled up I honestly didn't know if it was the right location because of the movie theme that they have outside of it but because of the valet I assumed it must be right. Getting inside it has the look of a movie theater concession area which was really dope. Once you get inside the movie theme is more subtle and it's just a nice restaurant. The bathroom area has to be the biggest marker for this place because the decor right outside of the bathroom area is made to be put on Instagram and I have seen many a post on Instagram featuring the bathroom designs. They even have a photo taker machine which lets you know it is really meant to get your photoshoot on. For a table appetizer they bring out popcorn which plays well into the movie theme. I'm not a huge popcorn person so I didn't take any but I think I was told it was cool. We were out for a friend's birthday party so there were a few appetizers ordered for the table. The Brussels sprouts were ! I mean honestly they were probably one of the best things I had the entire meal, in a meal full of deliciousness. The Crispy Calamari was great as well as the Crispy Thai Chile Shrimp. I didn't have any but I heard the Crispy Korean Short Rib Tacos were good as well. I feel like half of us got the Crispy Honey Truffle Chicken and we all LOVED it!! It was such well fried chicken and the honey and truffle added the right pops of flavor to make this really stand out. The app I got was the crispy shrimp and it was a hefty portion and tasty. Filet was a bit dry but sides were good. Dessert was yummy. Bartender had pretty good service. Pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed the small personal touches like the movie theater marquee and inside lobby looking like a movie theater (w/ popcorn stand, red carpet, movie theater candy). The inner dining area was beautiful and nicely decorated. The walls were lined with pictures of various movies (Rush hour, godfather, Scarface, coming to America, etc). We thought it was different and enjoyed guessing the movie names. Instead of Brad at the table , you receive flavored popcorn. We ordered : steak, lamb chops, candied yams, and Mac & cheese. Everything tasted great and was cooked as ordered. My only two complaints were the valet which was $10/$20 (depending on where you decided to park ) and the mandatory 19% gratuity. I have issue with any business that have available parking and choose to charge people who are spending money there. Also, what happens if service is bad ...the gratuity may not be worth it. Fortunately, our server (named D) was great but I always question mandatory gratuity. I think this gratuity thing has gotten out of control. So as my namesake, and a spot I've been seeing on my social media feed, the hubs and I had to come get a closer look. Hubs and I came by for a pregame around 5PM, so thankfully, there was no need for valet. (I heard it's $20, and in my opinion that's just insane-- but I digress.) I'm smitten with the name (obviously), speakeasy(ish) concept, and decor. Hubs loved "the Juliet" on the cocktail menu (the presentation was nice), and I opted for a glass of bubbles. The music and vibe was cool for a lively date. Now as for the food, I was quite underwhelmed. The flavors were lackluster. My scallop and truffle gnocchi was ok, Thai shrimp, and the truffle steak fries-- all, again, just ok. Sadly, I was so happy that we didn't plan to stay for our main courses. Now, don't get me wrong, I could absolutely return as a pregame, or to cozy up to the bar for after dinner solely for the drinks, music, and to catch a vibe. Checked out this new Houston hotspot on a Saturday evening for dinner! I surprisingly found a same-day reservation for two! Let's get into the details: Parking: seems to be valet only. I didn't explore to see if there were other options but valet was $10 for regular or $20 VIP. I opted for regular, figured I'm going to eat dinner and not to a nightclub. The restaurant has a movie theater theme! It's almost like you're going to a show and I think it's makes you excited for your dining experience. Upon entering, you smell popcorn and it's a true movie concession stand with candy and of course--popcorn. We were seated toward the back of the restaurant and iconic scenes from popular 90's movies line the wall. Dim lighting. Tables were a little tight for my liking but not too crazy. Dante was our server and he was awesome. The pear sidecar was delicious--I ordered two. The spinach salad was also tasty and it's a nice portion to split between two people. We ordered the red snapper and scallop and black truffle gnocchi. Delicious! Food was spectacular. Nice portions, not too big or too small. Upon exiting, we got popcorn and some of the old school candy. That was $10 for a small box of popcorn and candy. I took a star off for the price of the candy and the valet. I enjoyed my meal, price wise it's comparable with well known steak houses, with that being said, I think the price of the valet could be lower and the popcorn complimentary. I visited this place last night for a late Valentines dinner after seeing it on Instagram. This place is so cute! Its a hidden restaurant/bar made to look like a movie theater. I seriously loved this concept and its even cooler when you are there in person! I am not sure if reservations are needed, but we made a reservation and we were seated right away. To start off we ordered the Rose Fizz and Pear Sidecar. The Rose Fizz was so cute but I did not enjoy it :( The drink was 50% foam which I probably should have known had I read the description (my fault!) and it was too sweet for my taste. It literally tasted like cotton candy if you were to drink it. However, the Pear Sidecar was AMAZING!! Probably one of the best cocktails I've ever had. And also so cute! Presentation for both drinks were 10/10. We ended up having a few of those Pear Sidecars throughout the night and I can confirm they are boooooozy! For food we started off with the honey garlic pork belly. The reason why this review isn't 5 stars is because of this dish. It was a huge portion which we loved but it had absolutely no taste. It was also very rubbery and hard to chew. I'm assuming it was just overcooked. For our entrees we both ordered steak and shared a side of mashed potatoes and truffle mac and cheese. When I tell you they really redeemed themselves with these dishes!!! The steaks were amazing, juicy, and cooked to perfection! The mashed potatoes were also so so creamy and just overall great. But the star of the night for me was definitely the truffle mac and cheese. If you visit this place... YOU NEED TO TRY IT! It was nothing short of delicious! The portions here are pretty big so we did not have room for dessert but that just means I have to come back to try some! Service here was great from the moment we walked in. Our waitress had a great attitude, was fast, and did not let us see an empty glass all night. Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised by the "vibes" of this place. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything and gave suggestions frequently. He was also extremely accommodating and fast from staff to finish. The food was great as well. Please do yourself the favor and get the rib eye and honey truffle chicken! The sides we got were potatoes and garlic broccolini and they were so so good. The firecracker shrimp was tasty also!! There's absolutely no one here and being forced to pay for parking was not cool.
