Best Thai food in the U.S. I think. Having not been to Thailand yet I admit I have little for authentic comparisons, but Julie's is special. Julie, her husband and son..all from Thailand, make everything fresh everyday. The spring rolls are awesome, you taste each ingredient with every bite. Her homemade sauces are so good...so having said this fresh food takes time to prepare so don't go if you are in a hurry. Let Julie do her kitchen magic. This little out of the way place has just a few tables and at lunch always full. I do takeout for our employees from Julie's from time to time and y hey LOVE this food also. read more

This has to be one of my favorite Thai food places in the US. It's in a strip mall so you may miss it just driving by, but if you have stumbled upon it, or looked it up, go here, don't even think about driving by and going somewhere else. Easy parking, nice clean dining area. I had pineapple fried rice and added chicken, it was DELICIOUS! There was enough to get full on there, and take home with me for two more full meals! Julie's Thai food is some of the best I've had in Colorado. The Pad Thai is my favorite, and she makes some amazing Vegetable dumplings which I hope she puts on the menu regularly. The place is small but quaint, or you can order take out. The staff is really sweet and Julie herself is around the kitchen and really nice. They are very vegan friendly, you just need to let them know when you order. They made me a vegan Thai iced tea which is something I haven't had in years! Great place to check out if you're in Lyons or the surrounding areas. Definitely hit this place up on the way home from a hike. read more

My husband and I LOVE Thai food, and the lack of even decent Thai in the Boulder area is probably our only restaurant complaint. Thankfully, we found Julie's recently and WOW, what a great Thai place! Tucked into a stip mall, it's a tiny, casual, very clean restaurant. We ordered the mango summer rolls, panang beef (medium), and crispy basil catfish (hot). All of it was delicious! The mango rolls were full of fresh herbs and greens, and ripe mango (I'm often disappointed by the awful, unripe mango I get served at restaurants- but not here!) and served with a delicious peanut dipping sauce. The spice level was lower than we expected on the entrees. I could comfortably eat the catfish, and I typically can't eat more than a medium-spice Thai dish without hiccuping all night. That said, the flavors were incredible! The panag had the complex peanut/kieffer lime/etc flavor that most panags around here lack. And the catfish was phenomenally complex, with fried basil leaves and lots of fresh veggies. Portions were good without being massive, we both finished our plates (except for the rice) and left satisfied. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu! read more

This is a good food stop in Lyons. It's nestled among smaller shops outside the city's heart. They have a small lunch menu of $8 and $9 items along with their main menu's appetizer list. We ordered the crunchy Thai rolls along with chicken Pad Thai. We started with the egg rolls. They were good, of standard variety, and I particularly enjoyed the sauce. It was light and well-balanced. The Pad Thai, topped with a thin fried egg, was satisfactory with both tofu and chicken. It didn't have the interplay of flavors that I enjoy and search for, but it was solid. read more

After reading the great reviews and seeing the warm ambiance inside, I was very excited to try this place out on our way out of the canyon. The waitress warned us that the service would be slow, there were not many tables, they weren't full, and there were 3-4 people in the kitchen. OK. Let me say here that the waitress was great and is clearly overworked and the restaurant seemed clean, but that was the best part of the experience. About an hour after being seated, we were served our Tom Yum soup which was flavorless aside from a strange sour flavor, absolutely no spice (requested medium). The vegetables were good but the tofu was undercooked and the soup did not have any of the great lemongrass, lime, and chili flavor this soup normally should. We ordered the Red Curry and Pineapple (Red) Curry. The meals were ok but definitely not medium spicy at all and also were lacking flavor like the soup. For as long as they took to arrive (one hour and 45 minutes) and how expensive they were, they definitely should have been better than okay. The rice was not jasmine rice and was overcooked. I don't expect 3 or even 4 star dining in Lyons, but I expect Thai food in a Thai restaurant and this was very disappointing. read more

A fantastic thai restaurant in our cute little mountain town of Lyons. The staff is always so friendly and food is prompt, labeled and easily packaged in a cardboard box (we've only ordered to-go so far). The food itself is flavorful and filling. There isn't much in terms of seating so avoid lunch/dinner rushes if you can. Extra points for selling old school asian sweet treats that take me back to my childhood. We love Julie's! read more

Stopped here after a road trip over Trail Ridge from Grand County on a very hot June evening after a look at Yelp for suggestions on stops in Lyons. This little space in a strip mall with lots of construction in front makes for a bit of effort to get in and find a place to park but it is well worth the effort. Being located next to a dispensary may seem a bit of a put off to some and an enticement to others. I thought I could smell the scent of product while at Julie's, but my wife said I was off track with that one. Anyway, a great dinner. It is noted to be patient that that your order is freshly prepared and it shows in the products served up. Thus if you have time and and are not in a rush, this is a great stop for those on US 36. BTW - we ordered mild and medium spice, believe we could have easily gone up a step with no problems as we do tend to like vibrant spice/heat in our Thai food. Enjoy! read more

This unprepossessing little place just off 36 is a real gem! The food is delicious, and they have a solid variety on their menu. They have all the classics- pad Thai, panang curry, pad see ew- and some more unusual options, like duck pineapple curry. We usually get the Thai fried rice, and the shumai, which are flavorful and not too pricey. The fried rice is unexpectedly aromatic and fluffy, not the boring dish it often is. Next time you're in Lyons, give this place a try! read more

I had Pad Thai with chicken and the food was good but I felt it not well seasoned as most Thai places. I asked for medium heat and usually medium is tolerable heat. This was no heat. I had to add schiracha to it. Chicken was a bit tough and thicker than most Thai places I have been and I had some grissle and bone in mine. I didn't understand the chunks of tofu along with the chicken. I also asked for extra bean sprouts and got just a few. I gave the overall experience a 3 because the service (bean sprouts) and lack of flavor and authenticity. However, I would go back. It's the only Thai food in Lyons and the spring rolls were to die for. read more

We tried this place based on other Yelp reviews and I'm so glad we did! The decor isn't great and it is very small but was still comfortable. We sat at the table to the side of the counter. We could see into the kitchen, which was kind of fun. I enjoyed watching them make our food. We ordered the fresh spring rolls, vegetable tempura and pineapple curry with tofu. Every dish, and their accompanying sauces, was delicious! The price was nice as well. My husband and I split the curry (enough for two) and two appetizers and the bill was just $21. read more

I can't leave any stars because we never got our food. When we came in they said that it might be a little slow because there were take-out orders ahead of us. When we arrived,the restaurant was entirely empty and we sat at the table for six. We sat there from 515 to 6:45 waiting for our food. At that point we asked if they even started making our food yet. They said no. They said that it's because they make everything fresh. That makes no sense since they didn't even start making it. This place is probably fine for takeout since they seem to get those orders out but if you'd like to eat within several hours of arrival, I recommend you do not eat there. Delicious Tom Yum noodle soup with tons of fresh veggies and fried tofu...I wasn't feeling well before I ate this dish, and now I feel great! It was the perfect recovery food! I'm no Pad Thai connoisseur but this was the best I've ever had. Here's the thing- yes it takes longer than normal to get your food but it's fresh and the menu tell you this. So you ought to expect a wait. We waited about 40 minutes to get our main dish but we got egg rolls before and enjoyed spending time together. Julie's Thai is our VERY favorite restaurant in the ENTIRE Boulder/Lyons area. We eat there at least twice a week and it never gets old. Julie catered our rehearsal dinner at Ciatano Winery for 50 people and every guest LOVED her food, even my parents who have never tried Thai before. Her presentation was perfect and there was some left over even after most people ate seconds. The Pad Thai is great with a whole fried egg on top. Julie's panang is heaven. We ate there for the first time last night and we were blown away. The staff was very accommodating. I ordered the Panang chicken dish and my wife ordered Pad Thai. Both were excellent. My Panang had so many fresh veggies in it I was astounded. I would say about half way through dinner this guy came into the restaurant with a huge box of more fresh veggies. All doubt was erased as to the freshness of the veggies. We had Satay chicken with peanut sauce and Hargow for appetizers, both were out the ballpark good. read more

I went here last night (Monday) for dinner. First, the positives. It's a cute little restaurant. The waitress was very nice, clearly overworked. She was waiting on 5 tables, handling phone, front desk, register, etc. But she still provided good service and I was happy about that. But there were several negatives which make me not want to ever come back here. First, they took an hour and a half to make our meals and we ended up getting them to-go. The waitress did warn us that they were very busy, but I only saw 4 tables there and 3 people cooking in the back. I didn't think they'd take 90 minutes to make the food. Very, very slow. Secondly, with how long they took I expected really good authentic thai food. I love thai food. I've been to Thailand and love going to thai restaurants whenever I travel domestically. This did not taste that great. The ingredients tasted fine and fresh, but everything tasted boring and bland. I got the Tom yum soup which just tasted sour and felt like it was missing something. The red curry tasted very watered down. I asked for medium spice, and it was not spicy at all. It barely even tasted like curry. After finishing my meal I felt unsatisfied. I'm surprised by all the positive reviews. I wonder if people in this small town ever had other thai food? They're in for a world of surprise at how much better it can be! read more

Love the Tom Yum soup... prices are really affordable. Ask for anything to be "Thai Hot" and they add fresh thai bird chiles that will wake you up!
