Stuffed. So Stuffed. Just finished dinner at Jule's. I travel a lot. It is so hard to find good food that fits my tastes. Good for me includes quality vegetable dishes, thought given to sourcing ingredients and caring preparation. When you can get these things with a local (non-chain restaurant please) feel a great opportunity for a memorable meal is in the making. I have Yelped my way across this nation eating almost exclusively by the recommendations of the Yelp street teams and try to pay it back when I can by pointing out what I find along the way. Jule's is worth going to. Quality food. Nice atmosphere (casual) and great employees. By the time I left I was on a first name basis with my server who pretty much recommended the entire meal based on my questions (Creamy Winter Squash Soup, Greek Salad - no iceberg thank you very much and a grilled Portobello Mushroom sandwich worth every bite - I normally don't ever eat potato chips but have to admit I ate almost every one of the spicy little BBQ delicious, crunchy demons). When driving into St. Cloud I was worried about my prospects. Now I know if I ever return on business there is a safe little haven serving high quality Bistro food and a corner table waiting for me to eat too much again. read more

Hello unwanted parking ticket. My second attempt at Jule's was most pleasurable. Sipping a couple glasses of wine, while munching on a delicious salad and chocolate chip cookie definitely put the "happy" in my birthday! I held a small meeting at Jule's Bistro this spring over the lunch hour and appreciate very much that they accepted my call-ahead reservation. Every other table was taken. Having a meeting up at the bar would have been very inconvenient. My old fashioned chili was delicious, and I didn't hear any complaints from the others about their red pepper soup and something something wraps. Drinks were kept topped-off and the server was polite and attentive without interfering with our meeting. read more

How is it possible I haven't written a review for Jules' yet? To clarify, my five-stars are on the St. Cloud adjusted scale. In my homeland of Northern California, this place would warrant a four, which is still pretty damn good, but in the chain restaurant wasteland that is St. Cloud, Jules' is a freaking godsend. This place has so many things that make me smile: local art for sale all over the walls, waitresses in funky attire, and kids' drawings as table decorations. Just the right amount of quirk, without going overboard into all-out bizarre. As far as food goes, everything I've eaten there is good, and they push the boundaries about as much as a restaurant in St. Cloud can (which is to say, not far). They have both a soup and a chili of the day, which is fantastic, and a wide array of pizzas, sandwiches, and salads. To maximize your experience, you should definitely order one of their pizzas - hand-made dough, interesting ingredients, etc. My only quibble would be that they don't have beer on tap (although they carry a very limited but good selection of bottled craft beers - their affinity for Alaskan Brewing Co. has certainly kept me happy so far). In general, keep it up, Jules! Maybe you should think about being open on Sundays? read more

I sent them a message through Yelp to ask if they took reservations, but they never responded. We met friends there for dinner on a Saturday just after 6:00 p.m. and grabbed the last open table. Everyone in our party loved the food. Two people tried the Italian soda, and both liked it. We wanted to get a slice of cake, but they were out of three of the four cakes they promote. When we asked the waitress about that, she said they were out of cake because it was "the end of the day on the last day of the week." That sounded odd to all of us. So, I guess if you want their cake, don't go there on a Satuday. We'll be back again sometime. read more

Jules' is a great little place and I think is very under appreciated in this town! Oddly I think its downtown location makes it not an option for many St. Cloud residents and visitors. The food here is imaginative and tasty! I was very impressed by the creativity I saw on the menu. My guest, a huge foodie, thought the menu had so many great ideas he snapped a pic of it with his cell phone so he could try to replicate some of the ideas at home. I'm generally a very picky and unadventurous eater, so some of the more gourmet restaurants tend to really turn me off. However, Jules Bistro provides many dishes which go outside of what I normally eat while still pleasing my palate. Besides food, Jules is also the source of alcohol, coffee/tea, and a beautiful dessert case by the register. The reason I didn't award 5 stars is due to the smallness of Jules. It's not like St. Cloud is cramped.. it seems silly that this restaurant can only hold a handful of parties at once. You will definitely need to plan ahead if you are going to visit during peak hours. read more

I had the Turkey Bacon Ranch wrap along with chips at Jule's Bistro, and I'm sad to say, it did not "wow" me. It's not that the lunch was bad by any means, but there was nothing that made me think that I will be coming back regularly to Jule's Bistro. The wrap was good at best, but none of the ingredients in it deviated from your typical turkey wrap. The chips were decent, but they did not complete the meal for me. I'm sure Jule's has better options on the menu, but my experience left me saying "ehhh." It was not filling and for the price of about $10, I think I will try some other places or make a wrap at home. On the upside, the staff were nice and friendly. I like the look of the place, and it seems like it would be a fitting place to sit and read a book while enjoying some coffee. Note: Being that it is located in downtown St. Cloud, parking is limited at times. Meters can be found lining the streets, but you may have to loop around a few times before finding a place to park. read more

Great atmosphere, and the service is great. My wife ordered a glass of wine, and it tasted a little off, and they immediately opened a fresh bottle, and apologized about the first glass. Jule's is very uncharacteristic of a typical St. Cloud restaurant. read more

Stopped by Jule's on my way back from up north this weekend. What a fabulous spot! A cozy cafe with delicious espresso drinks (I highly recommend the cappuccino) and a superb menu. The goat cheese, fruit, and toasted baguette appetizer was a dish I will not soon forget and the caprese sandwich is fantastic--complete with pine nut pesto and melt-in-your-mouth bread. The atmosphere is lovely as well. The walls feature original artists, completing the small business warm-and-fuzzy effect that I am forever a sucker for! They serve alcohol, have plenty of vegetarian options (sandwiches/salad/pizza), have reasonable prices (about $9-11 average per plate), and are open for all three meals 6/7 days a week (closed on sundays). The service takes awhile, so would not recommend if you're in a huge hurry, but it is certainly not to be missed if you have some time for a relaxing meal. read more

I am used to living in a city that has lots of coffee shop options and good coffee...St.Cloud does not breed coffee. But I have seen an improvement with it at Jules. And many people are confused about what a macchiato is, a real one- It's basically an espresso (served in a demitasse cup) with a small amount of foamed milk on top. Well here at Jules you can get one and a really good tuna melt. Also I believe the atmosphere has changed here, a bit more laid back and coffee shop like where you can linger, bring a book or or iPad. And there is coffee to go, so skip Starbucks and Dunn brothers, come here. The cakes look great, but taste buds will have to test them another day. read more

When I went there, the atmosphere felt off to me. It didn't feel very welcoming there. Prices are a little out there as well. Didn't expect a small cup of soda to be $2.50. I could get it somewhere else where it would be more of a medium or large. I also had about 3 different waiters just for a drink and cookie's. I don't think I'll be going there again any time Update: I had one waitress check and then waited for someone. Then one came to me and asked and I gave my order. Then had to say it again to another. While waiting, I like to read the menu to see if I can find something interesting for the next visit, but whatever. read more

We had Jules' cater our daughter's graduation celebration and the guests raved about the beautiful charcuterie trays and arrangements of fresh fruits and vegetables! Their homemade hummus and dips were delicious! My daughter and I met with Donella before the party to make decisions and she was so accommodating and easy to work with. Jules has a very nice feel to it: good music in the background without having to shout over it and just enough lighting to see your food and your lover's eyes without feeling you're a lab rat. The food - my Greek Salad and my wife's turkey and artichoke panini were very good but the service was unfortunately very uneven. At the start we had the attention of both our server and Jules herself. But once the food was delivered, both went curiously missing in action. We finally hailed the bartender to assist us. If we come back it will be for the food - but then maybe not. read more

Stopped today for the first time since owners changed and had a lovely lunch with my mom. She had the chicken Caesar salad and enjoyed it very much. I had a half St. Germain salad and a cup of the vegetarian red pepper chili. Both of my choices were delightful. Very flavorful with quality ingredients. Took a minute to get menus and water as they were busy, but not a deal breaker. We will definitely return. Saint Cloud needs more locally owned restaurants like this who believe in and are excited by what they do. I can support that. Well done folks. read more

Cozy atmosphere with good food. The sandwiches and pizza are a favorite. They have a good sized wine and beer selection with amazing cappuccinos. So here's the thing about local places...they can either bomb or be your new favorite spot. Luckily for me, I think I found a new favorite spot. Their coffee is amazing! (If you like real coffee and quality everything.) Their cookies are scary good. Jules' has the cutest, most eclectic vibe without being pretentious. I walked in during a busy Thursday evening and thought, well there's an event going on so the service probably won't be great. Wrong. We were greeted by two servers right away as well as the owner. Everyone was smiling and friendly and made me want to camp out there for the rest of the evening. Sadly I couldn't tonight, but rest assured, I'll be back.
