My husband made Valentine's Day reservations weeks in advance. Coincidentally, we later found out my in-laws had also booked reservations for the same date and time. When we arrived, the restaurant was extremely busy with a long wait for those without reservations. My in-laws had already been seated at a table for four and kindly offered to share their table with us. We asked the host if combining our parties would help the restaurant, and they happily agreed. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. While we were still finishing dessert, a manager approached us and told us we needed to "wrap it up." The tone felt rude and unnecessary, especially considering we had only been dining for about 30-45 minutes. While we understand Valentine's Day is busy, guests should not feel rushed out, particularly when they made reservations well in advance. The interaction left a very negative impression and took away from what was supposed to be a special evening. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant for special occasions. Came here with my family for a Thanksgiving Lunch and it was a bit chaotic to be honest. They have it buffet style but the majority of the seating is on the lower level and the actual buffet lines are on the main floor. I don't see why it would be so hard to take one of the two lines from the upstairs and bring it downstairs-- there was already a desert table set up. Second, the food was terrible. Legitimately awful, the turkey was so bland, the deserts were dry, and the popovers weren't crispy. Benefit of the doubt, they were making a lot of food in bulk but... isn't that what restaurants with buffet lines do on the daily? Only endearing factor was that the decorations and ambience was beautiful otherwise location is remote, food was awful, and service was seriously the worst. Well we came out here for a wedding reception. First impression was very clean and definitely "your typical golf course higher end restaurant". They did a great job decorating for the wedding. The service was very pleasant. We had the chicken which came with potatoes and green and yellow beans. The food was very good for "wedding food". I would definitely recommend this place to anyone having a reception. We will definitely go back to try their regular menu on date night sometime! They have lunch buffets Tues - Fri for $7.49 Salad bar and homemade soup with fresh popovers, honey butter and garlic toast. Yumo. We were there for dinner so we had prime rib - tender and delicious with excellent tasting au ju, includes the fabulous salad bar above. Excellent food, the Chicken Kiev is absolutely amazing, and I would also highly recommend the au gratin potatoes. Additionally, the views from the deck are absolutely beautiful! And I have had very good luck with the service here. From other times I have been here, the buffalo chicken sandwich, is just alright, and I was underwhelmed with the chicken buffet. After having enjoyed the ambience of the fireside room at a previous dinner visit, we decided to stop for Sunday brunch buffet. We were seated in the noisy and dismal bar area, however. I asked if we could move (after waiting a very long time for our drinks) and was told no, there were reservations for the fireside room. I headed to the buffet (noting the fireside room was only 2/3 full) The breakfast station was good with the usual eggs (Benedict and scrambled) bacon, sausage, American fries, pancakes with real strawberry or blueberry toppings. They had ham slices which I found flavorless. In fact, most of the meat selections were flavorless. Roast beef in gravy, broasted chicken and what I thought was breaded fish fillets in a sauce (which turned out to be chicken tenders in I don't know what the sauce was). I did not try the breaded shrimp. The meats had the frozen and heated taste to them. Pushing the meats aside, I headed back in ( now noticing the virtually empty fireside room) and I filled up on bacon and mashed potatoes which were decent. The only other vegetable offered was green and wax been medley with baby carrots. The salad bar was small with iceberg lettuce and the standard mix-ins you find, only 3 kinds of dressing. I was surprised to see only a small container of tuna noodle salad, and no potato, coleslaw, jello salads you usually see, but it did have various mousse and the pecan rolls were very good. Desserts were various pies and cakes, which again seemed to be the frozen and thawed variety. We'll go back for dinner, someday, but brunch buffet for the same price we'll hit Granite City. read more

I was visiting St. Cloud for work and it is also the town I grew up in. The décor is Northwood's lodge that I have never seen done better. The service was very personal and sincere. Food was very good, baked Walleye was tender and moist, wild rice was cooked to perfection and the salad bar was nice. You will not find a better value anywhere! Highly recommend! I always grab a coupon from Restaurant.com before going out of town so I can try something local and get a deal.
