Soup Selection is extensive and delicious... mushroom bisque, lobster bisque, and roasted red pepper are unique, savory, and satisfying. Not comparable to any of the boring selections at Panera. My first experience at Café Zupas was a disaster. I came in expecting decent service, but instead, I got attitude from an employee who clearly hates her job. While one worker was kind and helpful, the other (photo below) was nothing but rude and dismissive. She acted completely annoyed when I asked a simple menu question and made it seem like I was a burden just for ordering. Then, when my two friends ordered chocolate covered strawberries separately, she actually got upset that they didn't order together. Seriously? What kind of nonsense is that? It's not my fault she can't handle basic customer service. If dealing with people is too much for her, she should find a job where she doesn't have to interact with anyone. Sis and I were in MG for shopping and lunch. I've wanted to try this place for a while and today was the day....Saturday at 11:30am. We hit it right before the rush with no line. As soon as we sat down with our order, the line was almost to the door. Speedy, friendly service. Plenty of clean, open tables available. Drink, cutlery station stocked and organized. As we got up to clear our table, a dining room attendant helped us find the garbage receptacle and she wiped down our table. Our lunch was very tasty! Lots of flavors between the salad, soups and sandwiches. Dare I say that I prefer Zupas over Panera!? Sis was in the mood for BBQ so she ordered a BBQ Chicken salad and a Pulled Pork sandwich. I got a bite of the pulled pork....mmm! The smokiness and acidity danced on my tongue. I love cheese soup (and am sad that Eddingtons went out of business) so I tried the WI Cauliflower (with bacon and cheddar cheese add on's). Wasn't as rich as I thought it would be; the cauliflower probably mellows it out, but would totally get again. I didn't know what sandwich to get to pair with this soup so I went with a safe TBA sandwich. Again very mellow flavors but delicious on the grilled panini. The dinner roll smelled fresh (that warm yeast scent) and the real butter (packet) made it feel fancier (like "Mr. Steak" in the 90s). Both meals came with a free chocolate covered strawberry. What!? This was actually on my shopping to-do list because next week is Valentine's day. So I purchased a half dozen. Also cheaper than Nadia Cakes across the street! I love how they have all these different soup options, that's always so nice. You can tell they are homemade and that makes me so happy! I ordered from door dash, and had a lot of food for the price. I got a spicy chicken sandw (loved it, actually spicy), a Turkey club, and 3 soups. I was a bit saddened when I asked for no bacon on sandwich, it was printed on my ticket, but I took a big bite of bacon. I don't eat pork, so that was a bummer. The chickpea and veggie soup had not a single chickpea, could have been the most unlucky scoop ever. Lastly, the loaded potato soup didn't mention bacon (I didn't see it on description at least). Wow! Great service! You can sample any/all the soups. 5 croutons are 79c if you decide to get them added to your soup. It's a super busy place especially during lunch but the food is so good that I don't mind. The line moves fairly quickly and all the food items I've had have been delicious. My typical order is a half soup and salad. I did try the protein bowl which was a welcome change from the usual. The lobster bisque and pepper lobster soup are my favorite. The strawberry salad is that I usually go for. The complimentary dinner roll and chocolate dipped strawberry round up my meal well. Definitely a good spot for a meal. Not typically a fan of a chain restaurant but this is one I want to spotlight! The food is always outstanding, fresh and full of flavor! To top it off they always have friendly employees who smile and treat you right! Not sure how many they have but this one in Maple Grove is always packed with lines out the door which is a sign of a good place! They have a great combo special that is so reasonable and so much food you can't lose! Multiple times I've ordered the vegetable soup to go and I get home to salty water with tiny bits of vegetables. If it was a one time thing, I'd think it was just one employee rushing to fill an order but this seems to be the norm. There are other reviews with the same complaint & mgmt responds that "maybe the employee forgot to stir the pot". Excuse me, you run a soup restaurant & your employees don't know how to work a ladle? I've been a server & served soup & that sounds ridiculous. Restaurant prices are expensive enough and when you get home and see you've been sold broth while paying for more, it's annoying. Also, don't think you should be adding an automatic gratuity to peoples tabs via the app when your employees can not handle basic food service. You earn a gratuity. It's not owed. That's what the wage is for. Plus, they need to do a deep cleansing of the bev station. While waiting for my food, I noticed the side of the machines had layers of grossness on them. Definitely more than a few days worth. Mgmt should spot that immed and rectify. Not a good sign of what's in back. read more

I came in for a soup and salad combo and ordered the clam chowder. They served me all cream and nothing else. Not a single clam or potato in sight. I called in with the complaint and they just said they would talk to them employees which in customer language means your SOL. Today I got the same clam chowder and it was 1/4" thick with some type of oil/grease. So unappealing it makes me just gag. Especially since Zupas is known for their fresh healthy food. It's aggravating to go to a restaurant and it not be the same every time. I think it's time to move to another location to try out. The combo lets you pick 2 (half salad, half soup, half protein bowl, and sandwich) for $9.99. My favorite combo is the southwest protein bowl with the turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich (make sure you get the grilled panini version). The service here is also so awesome. A manager (long braided red/ brown hair) refused to either wash her hands and change gloves or refund my money after I refused a sandwich that she made after wiping her snot on her arm and wrist several times and touching her face and glasses several times with gloved hands. When her coworkers asked her to allow someone else to make it she yelled "that's tough cause I'm the one working sandwiches." It wasn't until I started taking photos and pointing out health department guidance photos beside the sink in the back and they ran to calm her down, that someone else was allowed to change gloves (who had also been wiping her nose on her arm since I walked in) and make the sandwich. They have so many to choose from and believe me it's difficult to choose with the great combinations of flavors. I love that I have a healthier option for lunch then normal fast food. The only thing I wish was better was being able order for pick up. I have called numerous times and have been told that it'll be a 2 hr wait for pick up when all I'm trying to order is 2 salads.. I don't understand how it could Be 2 hours for someone to put together a salad for me and my coworker. But that is really the only negative thing you will ever hear me say about this place. So I've wanted to try this place for a while as I love fast food and needed something a bit healthier while still being fast so here I am and Im pleasantly surprised that I really like this place. The wait was bit long but it was the middle of lunch when I arrived. The staff was friendly and helpful and even asked if I wanted a item to replace the olives I don't like. My food came fairly quickly after ordering and its really good. My only complaint is that the BBQ sauce that came on my salad is a bit sweet but otherwise this place hit a home run with me. The pork in my Cuban sandwich is very flavorful and tender I would like a tad more sauce but that's my personal preference. They do get kudos for the free bread and chocolate cover strawberry. Okay guys, Zupas ROCKS! I've seen more and more locations pop up here in MN but Maple Grove is my all time favorite location. The staff here is always extremely friendly and helpful at answering questions about all the food. Zupas has an amazing selection of salads, soups, sandwiches and now; protein bowls! You go through a counter line and order starting at salads/sandwiches, then soups and lastly the ever tempting desserts. My favorite combo is soup sandwich: The ultimate grilled cheese and mushroom bisque. The grilled cheese is like a panini with all the grilled cheese goodness, and the mushroom soup is the BEST mushroom soup you will ever taste (even your great great grandmas won't live up to this). I mainly come here to eat soup (soup is life) and my other recent fave is the chickpea soup (Vegetarian), and I've actually tried copying this at home but it's not the same. All the soups are good but these are just my top go-to's. The salad/protein bowl options are phenomenal with tons and tons of options to choose from to feed your healthy soul. There's also quite a ton of sandwich options but again, I'm more of a soup person. Each meal comes with a hand dipped chocolate covered strawberry..okay classy! And a little dollar bun perfect to dip in your soup! The drinks are also a super great part of this upscale fast food restaraunt. They make their own handcrafted drinks like a orange berry infusion, a honey lemonade, a blackberry basil infusion, and a tumeric lime green tea! They also have fountain beverages if that's more your style. Last but not least, the desserts. I've only tried the chocolate cake, but man..it's good stuff.
