Decided to try Dave's chicken for the first time late at night. I like the fact they stay open till midnight. Pretty expensive spot for the amount of food you get. The drive thru wait was long. It took about 20 minutes to get through drive thru. I tried the loaded Mac. Overall pretty good I'd get it again. read more

Just tried some spicy chicken and wow, the reaper heat was absolutely on point! Seriously, top-notch spice level. The mozzarella sticks were pretty tasty too, a nice cheesy addition. My only minor gripe is that the employee at the drive thru was a bit odd, asking for the name on the order than asking us weird questions that was irrelevant to our drive up order. Ordered medium and mild slider, Mac and cheese, Dave's bites, fruity pebble shake. Sliders were good, not great. Mac and cheese was boring, respectfully Kraft out of a box is much better. Ordered Dave's bites w/o breading but came with breading (I should have checked before leaving, that's on me), the shake was very watery, basically fruity pebbles and milk. First visit here. With so many chicken places, we wanted to see what Dave's was all about. Walking in the door, you are in the dining room. A brightly colored space painted with murals. Noon on a Saturday, most tables were full. With the tables that were open, they had crumbs or sauce smeared on the top. Chair look Industrial (uncomfortable for big butts and wide hips, yeah!) and painted bright red. **By the time we were almost done eating, lots of people had left and it quieted down. And then staff came out to clean and reorganize the tables and chairs. Walking up to the counter, the menu was very clear. Minimal meal options (only 4, similar to Cane's) as ordering chicken doesn't need to be fancy. And they also have vegetarian options by offering a cauliflower version. Meals don't come with a beverage included but there were alternatives to the soda fountain, like slushies or shakes. Staff was friendly and helpful with questions. We were given buzzers while our meals were being prepared. But orders were up within 5 minutes. I ordered a single slider (Mild). It came with an extra cup of Dave's sauce and a bunch of pickles. I had to ask for ketchup packets for my fries. Sis ordered 2 sliders (extra mild). It can't with the same sides but also a piece of plain white bread (no butter??). She also ordered a strawberry slushy. I sampled a taste. Very good for a hit summer day. It's hard to explain the taste of the chicken. I don't do well with Nashville HOT chicken. My throat revolts and I can't breathe, causing a coughing fit with tears. So I was nervous what I'd get with MILD. No heat at all. It was covered in red seasoning (cayenne pepper??) but it actually tasted sweet, which was weird. The chicken was crispy on the outside, nice and juicy on the inside. I liked the soft slider bun, and the Kale slaw gave a nice crunch. I liked the Dave's sauce at first but didn't stand out my the end of the meal. I used it to add some sauce to the sandwich, since there was no other mayo or ketchup on it. The fries were fresh, hot. All soft potatoes, no crunchy outside. Served with sweet, red seasoning again. What is this? Why is it sweet? I would have preferred no seasoning. The best part was the pickles. I got 6 off them! And they were a perfect juicy, sour dill. For me, it's a one and done. But sis said she'd come back here again. So we'll see....I'd maybe try the loaded fries and a slushy. read more

Have been wanting to try Dave's hot chicken since they opened. Finally got the opportunity to do so and it was good. Got the two sliders one hot and the other extra hot with fries. Having grown up eating spicy food didn't think the hot was very hot. Next time will have to try the reaper. The sandwiches were tasty regardless of how I felt about the spice level. Colorful murals on the walls. This restaurant just opened and wasn't too busy. My daughter ordered the slider and tender combo with fries. You can choose your level of spice, she chose hot. Flavorful tenders. Don't let the red color fool you, even if you choose no spice the color is still red. It's the batter they use. There's a drive thru option as well. read more

Was recommended this by my son, who loves it. I started out light and mild with their Dave's Bites and fries. First off, I enjoyed the server's description of the food and the "burn" for each level of hotness. It was a great introduction. I enjoyed the bites. Next time I'll order a larger piece of chicken. I enjoyed the spice, but would recommend going hotter than the mild or mid-level if you like a little longer lasting heat. I would definitely return to try something new from the menu. The piece of toast in the bottom of the basket seemed a bit odd. It would be nice if it had some butter/garlic or something on it. It was served plain. Am I missing something? read more

No drive thru, but the pickup window works just like one if you order via the app. First time trying Dave's Hot Chicken, the Dave Bites were very crispy and full of flavor. High quality chicken not like every other fast food joint. The seasoning definitely has a nice kick and isn't that Minnesota spice. We have been waiting for Dave's to open in our area. I've been following for a long time on IG. Today was day 2 and they were busy. The lines moved quickly and the food was coming out hot and fresh. We tried the tenders and the sliders, medium and mild. Great flavor, good crunch. Dave's sauce is soooo delicious I wanted in a bigger container. The fries were crispy with a great seasoning. Foods fine but when I order one that's not spicy for the elderly there's no label or anything to say what's what.. They only way to get ahold of them is the drive to the store and talk to them directly. They will not answer the phone. And there automated phone system horrible it refers you to the website for a few minutes before giving the option to call the store then nobody will answer.. which is extremely aggravating... not interested in doing business with a company that's not willing to have customer service for the to go customers.. read more
