This may very well end my quest for a good pastrami sandwich in Minnesota. I'm going to rate it 9 out of ten when.compared to my standards of the pastrami grinder sold at Classic Bugers in Inyokern, California and the memory of the pastrami grinders from Peppies, in Fontana, California which was my go to place for grinders in the 60s and 70s. The pastrami itself needed to be more flavorful (It didn't even come close to the flavor of Kramarczuk's) and there should have been twice as much of it but it it is a build-your-own sub so I'm thinking with the right instructions, a bigger dill pickle on the side I can make this work, especially if I bring my own yellow wax peppers to give it a little kick. Unlike Kramarczuk's there is plenty of free parking, It is closer to home and it isn't crowded. Firehousee Subs gives me hope that I won't have to fly to California every time I get the craving. read more

I got an email showing two 6'" subs and a 22oz. Dr. Pepper for $9.99. It didn't show up in my app., so I went to the Maple Grove location to order it in person. The manager on duty didn't know what to do and that's what he told me. I told him that he needed to do whatever it took to honor the email ad I showed him on my phone. I said, can't you just charge me for a 6" sub and give me the other with a Dr. Pepper? There were two other employees who were nice, but this guy was not and shouldn't be employed with the attitude he had. We've constantly had issues with the employees at this location. Rarely smile and aren't very friendly. I contacted corporate and they said there was nothing they could do. They said they'd forward my issue to the head person at that location, but they never had the decency to get back to me. I'm done patronizing them after many years. I absolutely love this place. It's a mystery as to why they don't have more stores. The sub choices are great. If you don't want a hot sub, just build your own. Excellent cheese and meat choices, not a lot of veggie choice and that could improve, but I've had 3 really good ones this past week. Stay away from the Mac and cheese. I absolutely love Firehouse Subs!!! I've never like my sub toasted (hot deli sandwiches in general) until I started eating here! The cheese is perfectly melted. They have specialty sandwiches like anywhere else but I usually build my own turkey sandwich. They have 3 sizes to choose from; small medium, large! Of course you can make it a combo with pop & chips! Staff are always nice! Don't be scared to add some fire to your sub! They have A LOT of hot sauces to try on your sub. I love that! I try a new sauce every time. They have the coca-cola freestyle machine if that's your thing (as in fruity flavored pop). They do have a loyalty program you can join (use your phone number at the register). They also usually run great promos as well! This Firehouse subs makes some amazing sandwiches! The place is well maintained and is clean every time I come through. Although be careful with this location, customer service lacks behind the counter at times. I've stopped into this location multiple times and each time the food was great! I prefer the New York steamer. Although, the many times I come to this location the customer service tends to lack, mostly from the cashier. The ones making the sandwiches always greet me as I walk in. But I always feel as if the cashiers at this location could use some more training in customer service. Today 1-15-21 when I went in with some friends and especially showing them firehouse for their first time, the cashier was a bit of a disappointment. He seemed irritated that my friend didn't know what they wanted, also not providing any recommendations for my friend he just stood there silent. I gave my recommendation to my friend and they ordered, and not a surprise to me the cashier had a tone and seemed irritated with us. After providing a name he handed over the receipt and not another word came from the cashier. We were the only ones there ordering food so it wasn't a factor of stress from the workload. When we wrapped up he went to go sit down as the other two workers made the sandwiches. We got the food, and headed out. The food was great! But for my friends to talk about how condescending the cashier was and my friends saying they don't want to deal with that every time they go in there is a total let down. read more

We love firehouse subs but will never return to this location. The cashier acted annoyed that we were there and was very short with us. They screwed up two orders in front of us and one of them twice. While we were waiting a child fell out of a high top chair and cried loudly turns out it was the child of the cashier. We had to wipe off our own table and had been waiting 15 minutes when another set of customers walked up to the door and the cashier and another female employee complained that they were getting more customers. Mind you it wasn't that busy. We asked for a refund and told them why. As we waited for our refund the two female worker loudly pointed out that another order got screwed up and then proceeded to complain about the day. So after saying I would never come back here here I am back again because I wanted a pastrami sandwich..so at least this time the counter girl was fairly nice and there was no complaining about the night before. The food came out fairly quickly and at first glance it looks great. I ordered the steamer with extra cheese and I added lettuce and tomato... I stopped in to pick up a sandwich while running errands on a Sat afternoon about 2:30. It did not look busy at all. I placed my order with a woman who had her mask under her chin. There was also a toddler running around that she kept telling to get back in the back room. My order, one sandwich took over 20 min. There were a total of 4 people working, all of them On the same large order. Nobody said they were sorry or apologizeD for the wait. Had I know there was a big order before me I definitely would not have ordered. My usual go to is Jimmy Johns, and I guess that's where I will continue to do. well another sub place in MG! I think we are reaching saturation point with sub shops but this one is different, sure. These are hot subs and the donate money to Fire Halls in the area, good on both accounts I guess. I have always wanted to be a volunteer fire fighter and like that angle but don't know if it will get me buying more mediocre warm sandwiches. I tried the Turkey club and was disappointed. The bread was dry, not fresh tasting at all. The meat was your regular sliced lunchmeat style and there was really nothing about it that impressed me at all. The salads are huge and very fresh. Skip the chilli, it's not very good. One thing that caught me off guard was the flavor of their ham... It's very sweet. The kids meals sandwiches are small so if you have a bigger eater I suggest getting a regular meal. read more

Let me start off with i love firehouse subs! This is my first time visiting this location and I'm sad to say i was unimpressed. First off the workers clearly hate their job. In other locations you will get a friendly hello every time you walk in! It also just felt dirty in there. Nothing was wiped down The reason i gave this place such a bad rating was because of girl making the sandwiches. She had beautiful braids BUT they went past her waist... her hair was not pulled back and therefor touching all the surfaces and food!!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes. Management is clearly not doing their job here and making sure this place is sanitary. So if you like a little hair flavor and germs this is the right place for you :) On a positive note, i do highly recommend other locations because the subs are good! read more

I wasn't super impressed with anything about this place. I was hungry for a sandwich and sorted through my options, I've never had Firehouse before so I thought I'd give it a try. As soon as we stepped in we were welcomed by two employees arguing at each other loud enough for the whole restaurant to here, and then asked "what do you want?" as the other employee walked out of the restaurant. I ordered an Engineer (turkey/cheese/mushrooms). When I went to find a table to sit at, every table was dirty and there was trash all over the floor, so I sat at one of the dirty tables, got my sandwich after 10 minutes and it was very plain. Nothing special, and only had 2 little mushroom pieces on it. Out of all the sandwich shops to go to, why choose this one? I'm still wondering how this place is still open. read more

I just came into the fire house sub in Maple Grove for the first time. I have visited other fire house subs and have been very satisfied. There was a lady sitting out in her truck with two kids I noticed her because I walked by on my way in to get the sub for my 86-year-old mom which I did tell the cashier I am getting a sub for my 86-year-old mother. I say this because Covid precautions are supposed to be in place. The lady in the truck with the two kids walked in the store she put her two kids in a chair by the TV and she walked behind the area where they are making sandwiches. She had one pump of hand sanitizer and put it on her hands. Followed by gloves. No real cleanliness of any other sort! No mask! She went ahead and made the sub for my 86-year-old mother. I then asked if I could have somebody else remake the sub with somebody with a mask. I asked in a monotone voice. Although she yelled at me and said I have a medical condition I don't have to wear a mask and don't yell at me!. Again I never raise my voice!. Another worker was behind the desk making subs with a mask and had been in there the whole time. She apologized underneath her breath to me. I think her for her kindness to me and I left without my sub. I have not been treated like that before! I am so very very disgusted and dissatisfied!!! read more

No update through the Grubhub link. Called Grubhub and they called Firehouse. Still took 15 min after that. Thank you to Grubhub for addressing, but not sure why an internet company requires a phone call and has a 6 min wait for C/S. They also gave a promo code for future orders - so thank you to Grubhub! Driver for Firehouse dropped off the sub, but no sorry, we lost the order, the dog ate the computer, nothing.... Saw Jimmy Johns deliver four times during my wait time at arena.
