The green beans were really good and well cooked with just the right amount of crunch still as well The restaurant was pretty empty so we were served very quickly so that was great, and the restaurant interior was perfectly clean as well. Update: They do serve latte's and cold brew! The food is always excellent here and they have a lovely outdoor patio. The inside is well lighted with natural light. You order at the counter, take a number and they bring the food to your table. Customer service is average. This time we got the steak salad, a side of homemade chips, and a pastry. The salad was amazing and we loved the chips. My only disappointment is that they don't serve lates or cold brew coffee. For having a brunch cafe vibe you'd think they'd want to do this. Yum indeed! We had the fish tacos and cauliflower bowl. Love that the fish is grilled, as a lot of places deep fry it. The veggies were fresh and the seasoning had a bit of a kick but not spicy. My friend got the cauliflower bowl, which is one of the entrees I was considering. She liked it so I will try that next time (though I'd definitely get the fish tacos again). We got the peanut butter and vanilla cupcakes for dessert. The peanut butter flavor was evident in the frosting and the frosting itself wasn't overly sweet. I have been coming to Yum for years and I have yet to be disappointed! It is clean, bright and welcoming with both indoor and outdoor seat yourself tables. Our group came during an extremely busy lunch period and we weren't able to find an indoor table large enough to sit all of us but had a great experience on the patio! After ordering at the counter, our food came out fairly quickly despite how busy it was. Their menu is expansive and they have plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options. The fries were absolutely amazing. So flavorful and the different dipping sauces really give it an elevated feel. The Yum Veggie is one of my all time favorite veggie sandwiches. My fitness group decided to eat here after doing the Hot Apple Cider 5K. They had breakfast entrees and I opted for the Date Salad without dates. This was avocado, goat cheese, mixed greens, cornbread croutons and honey vinegarette dressing. I ate it all because salad doesn't keep well in the fridge to eat later. Their table number stand was unscrewed and flimsy and I knocked it over and it spilled a mimosa. Nice of them to replace. You order at the counter and food is delivered to your table. I've got the steak sandwich, which was pretty good, the tortilla soup which is more on the tomato side(which I believe is more traditional) and the salad sampler. All good. If you're Jewish, I highly recommend their Holiday offers & Challah. It's some of my favorite Challah I've found in the Twin Cities, and the Matzoh Ball Soup is delicious. Stopped here for dessert on our way home from the Excelsior art fair. I was interested in the patty cake and saw that they had coconut cake - so I left with two. Double win. These two cakes are good, but different. The party cake was moist and lighter with buttercream frosting. The coconut cake was more dense with a lighter whipped cream type of frosting. In my opinion, the coconut was better. I do prefer whipped cream frosting over buttercream frosting though. Also the coconut cake had a layer of filling instead of just more frosting that helped balance the sweetness. I love coconut, but haven't had a lot of coconut cake to compare. read more

I live near Yum's original location, so I was intrigued when I was invited to a meeting at this location. I like the SLP location since it is very light and airy. This location keeps that tradition going, with lots of big windows, high ceilings, and a large open room. The location is good - right off of 62 at Shady Oak road and fairly close to 494, too. When I arrived mid-morning, it was packed with people meeting for coffee & food, business as well as personal. I already ate, so I just had an espresso. The guys I met did the same. My espresso was fine and we sat for a while and talked. I grabbed a few treats to go for my family and they were the same level of quality as the SLP location. read more

I've been to yum couple of times and I love how fresh and healthy their foods are. Even their chips are made from scratch! Their menu does change often and by far my fave meal there was roast lemon chicken. I've had their desserts too and their key lime pie hit the spot. It has a nice clean and green decor with cool toys and culinary tools for purchase. The setup is similar to Panera, where you pay and have a table number except they bring your food to your table. I appreciate the amount of chocolate, but wish it was buttercream chocolate frosting instead of whipped chocolate frosting (personal preference). I'd likely go with the patticake slice next time. Restaurant is large and lots to pick from. There's a handful of locations around the cities which is so convenient. I look forward to my next experience. My eyes kept looking at the cupcakes....
