Oh my goodness! Great Hot Pastrami sandwich that is HUGE-easily two meals! With my second half I'll add sauerkraut and Swiss and grill it again! My server, Toukey, was friendly and on top of keeping me not wanting for anything. Nice place to eat and take home some treats from the deli/bakery. Can't beat the cozy vibes.

Consistently great food and service! Friday...Lent... time for their "Friday Fish and Chips Special". Outstanding fresh fried cod with amazing Cole Slaw, I got extra as an opted out of the fries! Service as usual was great!

Came here Sunday. The place wasnt overly busy before noon but it started to pick up. Server very friendly and attentive and the ambiance was nice. Food was very very good. 2 of our party had the fish sandwich and the filet was huge. They liked it a lot. I ordered a fried bologna sandwich and potato salad. The sandwich rocked but the potato salad was bland as bland can be. They have a nice deli and baked breads. We will be back again soon!

The perfect place for nostalgia! I'm originally from the North Shore Suburbs of Chicago, where I can find a Deli everywhere - ever since moving here I've been wanting to find the perfect spot and this is it! My boyfriend and I came here on a rainy morning to grab some breakfast, and try their matzoh ball soup. All of it was delicious! The soup was warm and flavorful, the matzoh ball a little dense for my taste but everyone has their preferences. We got a Veggie omelet and the breakfast sammy. We both loved our food and was served a large plate! Only note was that both dishes needed salt, but we added that ourselves. My favorite part of this spot is the deli - since it was right before Passover I was able to get some KforP treats that were delicious. Highly recommend their Passover brownies - like fudge! We also tried a bagel and a B&W Cookie from the counter. The bagel is NY style with a hard skin and a chewy inside. The cookie was my favorite, like the ones I always got as a kid! I will definitely be back here.

I pretty much just come for the tomato soup! Not much else that catches my eye. The one unique item I like is the cabbage rolls, but I don't like the soup they come in, but delicious if you ask for them to be served without the soup and just with the mashed potatoes.

I'm missing pastrami grinders from California so this is my first stop in finding the best possible substitute in the Twin Cities. This is is 6 on a scale from 1-10 compared to what I was hoping for. This has been one of my wife's favorite places that we haven't been to in many years because we live so far away. For the sandwich to get a 10 from me it needs to be served on a hoagie/sub bun with yellow wax peppers on the side. Mustard, shredded lettuce and dill pickles never hurt either. The pastrami itself was most with just the right amount of fat. The next time I'll probably just buy the pastrami at their deli and DIY the sandwich at. home.

Been craving a good deli sandwich for months being a MN transplant. FINALLY I've found it!!! This place has it all. Delicious Dr. Brown soda, cookies, banana bread, all kinds of assorted bakery stuff, really. And the Kevin Kombo is SO GOOD! It's the perfect sandwich as someone who loves a deli but is rather picky on toppings. My friend got the Reuben, which looked fantastic! Prices also aren't astronomical for a deli. I will be coming back here when the craving hits again (will be soon). We only carried out, but the check out man was lovely and helpful. Will be dining in next time to see the vibes.

Our server, Katie, was friendly, patient, and helpful- she really helped a few of us indecisive ones decide between different items on the menu. We started off with the Burrata dip and cheese curds. Cheese curds were delicious, good batter and served with a sweet chili sauce (and another one that I didn't try). I've never had a cheese curd with sweet chili sauce but man... that was good! The burrata dip was good, but nothing too special. The recommendation was the broasted chicken or the broasted chicken sandwich so three of us ended up getting the sandwich. We all rated it differently. Mine was the lowest score, to me it was a pretty plain chicken sandwich but to my coworker, she said it was one of the best chicken sandwiches she's ever had! And said the fries that went with it were a perfect pair! Overall, the team was happy with their meal and service at The Block Food and Drink!

The property is spacious, clean with the appropriate amount of lighting. There is a full bar, and a decent tap list. Feeling spunky today, I opted for the Bloody Mary because I was curious if 17.00 was a worthy price for this drink. I'll say there is a LOT of accoutrements in that glass. cheese, shrimp, olives, pickle, and salami(?) if I recall. It was a lot, which was nice, but the star of the show should be the Bloody Mary mix. Here, I felt it fell short, but that is just me. Onto the food - I probably should have stopped at the Bloody Mary, but I was not to be deterred. I ordered the Wagyu Mushroom Burger, and my dining partner ordered the half BLT with a cup of French Onion Soup. The burger was really disappointing. I will say the burger was perfectly made and cooked, but the sauteed mushrooms completely took over the flavor of the burger. Paying a premium price for some ground beef, it should be front and center. I won't order that again. The BLT was wonderful, and everything you'd expect. thick bacon with the right amount of lettuce and tomato, with avocado to add a creamy overtone. The French Onion soup was the best thing we were served. I would come back here again just for that. I would assign this establishment 3 stars, but our server was awesome, so they get an extra star just for this aspect of our dining experience.

I didn't feel hovered, and I didn't feel ignored. Just the perfect amount of service. I enjoyed the atmosphere as well. As someone on the spectrum, I always worry about the place being overstimulating when I go out to eat, but instead I was graced with a temper volume with the music, subtle cooking noises under the murmur of people casually chatting. Nothing is better than eating brunch around leafy greenery and a barista aesthetic. I came here for a nice start to my 3 year anniversary, and that's exactly what I experienced. The bar became busy making drinks and it took a little longer for our food order which was okay. What wasn't okay was that there was an off duty worker seated at the bar as well and that person had a single server spend an extended amount of time chit chatting with them while the rest of the workers were visibly stressed and busy. There was a single guest sitting next to me that was being ignored over this conversation. After about 20 minutes of the server coming back and forth to talk with this person the floor manager came up to the server and off duty worker and stated "I don't even want to fucking hear it" with an anxious smile. I'm not sure in what context that was said but I think it's inappropriate to be using that language on the floor surrounded by customers. That did prompt the server to get back to work. It would be nice to see each customer receive that amount of attention that server reserved for their friend to create a new community where even solo customers feel welcomed.
