Probably one of the best value you can find in Chinatown! Their Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) are delicious, and you can't beat the special: 6 mini soup dumplings for just $2.99. The fried dumplings were also a highlight--perfectly crispy and flavorful. The setup is very no-frills and efficient. You order at a kiosk or the counter and wait for your number to be called. It's connected to the Dragon City Mall, so it's easy to find. There's a decent amount of seating, and it's clearly a favorite for students thanks to the affordability. Great spot for a quick, delicious, and budget-friendly meal!
The service here was quick and efficient. They are a very busy spot. The ambiance is average, it is a bit cramped inside and there is a good amount of seating, however you may have to wait for a table, fortunately we did not. The food itself was fantastic. Delicious soup dumplings, and really good spinach dumplings as well. We loved everything we ordered and were super happy with the food we had. There were many options between all of the restaurants around and we were not disappointed.
This is a popular fast food spot in the area with frequent offers for dumplings. When I went, they had discounted rates for steamed pork dumplings. I tried both their steam dumplings and fried dumplings. Enjoyed both. Also tried their chive pancakes. The portion was big. The service counter is easy to use and helps with quick turn around.
Really enjoyed this place, even though the line was out the door, it moved really fast. You can order at the register, or directly through one of the self-serve kiosks. Seating is a premium here, so if you see a seat, grab a seat. It was busy, loud, fast paced but delicious. The price was really great for what you get especially with the quality of the dumplings here!
For us Chinese, it's finally time to enjoy the hometown dishes we've been longing for. It's really great.
This is my electric chair meal and I don't really even enjoy dumplings. we ordered the pork soup pan seared and steamed dumplings; and veggie spring rolls. They do NOT disappoint. The burst of flavor you get as you take your bite of dumpling is unlike anything I've ever had. I will say I enjoy the pan seared a little more. The inside isn't anything to write home about. It doesn't feel super safe as it's in a rough area but no one bothered us when we were there. Service was okay, nothing good or bad here to add.
If you're craving authentic, delicious dumplings in Toronto, Juicy Dumpling is the place to go! Located in the heart of Chinatown on Spadina Ave, this cozy little gem offers an extensive variety of dumplings, both steamed and fried, that are filled to perfection. The pork and chive dumplings are a standout, bursting with flavor and topped with a savory soy dipping sauce. While the menu is simple, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. The atmosphere is no-frills, but don't let that fool you--the dumplings are definitely the star here. The service is quick and efficient, perfect for grabbing a bite in between exploring the bustling streets of Alexandra Park. If you're in the area and want a taste of traditional Chinese dumplings at a reasonable price, Juicy Dumpling should be at the top of your list!
I will admit that I'm biased. I previously wrote a review for Dumpling House in which I discussed the benefits of having an old Asian woman hand-rolling dumplings in the window with duct tape on it. This place, Juicy Dumpling, is becoming quite trendy, and I don't really understand why. It is the equivalent of Popeyes for dumplings. You don't have to talk to anybody. There is no "service "or "ambience," other than the fluorescent lights. You order on a screen, someone calls out your number, and you pick up dumplings in a to-go container (the cardboard kind so the dumplings stick to it). The soup dumplings were not bad. They were adequate. The other dumplings that I had, the fried pork dumplings, were severely meh. The vegetable steamed dumplings lacked taste of any kind. They were an abomination. So if you want dumplings with no soul, no personality, this is the place you should go for "fast food" dumplings. If you want a real dumpling experience, walk around the corner.
Cheap dumplings that are consistent and delicious. Hard to go wrong here. Lots of menu options but the classic is the soup dumpling. I've never seen it quiet here. Everyone loves it.
Juicy Dumpling offers one of the best deals in Toronto for soup dumplings. Located inside Dragon City Mall in Chinatown, it is a fast and convenient spot for a quick bite. The xiao long bao are filled with savory broth and tender pork, and the thin wrappers hold up surprisingly well. Service is quick, prices are very affordable, and the quality is solid for what you pay. It is a great choice if you are looking for something tasty, filling, and budget friendly in the downtown core.
Juicy dumpling 100% lives up to the hype!! My friend and I came here last night to try their famous dim sum and we were so happy with everything we ordered. Unless you walk, take the subway, or bus, you will have to pay $5/2hr at the parking structure attached to the restaurant. Upon entering, you have the option to order through their kiosks (if paying card or tap) or the front (if paying cash). The menu is pretty straightforward, it tells you everything you need to know regarding portion, price, and what comes in it. My friend ordered the juicy pan fried pork bun and steamed pork/crab soup dumplings, and I ordered the pan fried pork soup dumplings. The restaurant was moderately busy but the food came out so fast I swear it took less than 10 minutes of a wait. The dumplings were all love at first bite. You can tell the wrappers they use are made from scratch, which definitely makes or breaks a dumpling. Soy sauce and chili sauce packets are included but if you need more, there is a self serve section next to the cash register. Very simple yet memorable experience and even though I live in Oakville I would ABSOLUTELY make the hour long trip just to eat here again. We're both still thinking about how we should've ordered more to take home, lol. 11/10 recommend :)
I could not believe how fast and delicious and cheap these dumplings were! i got the fried soup dumplings and fried pork dumplings. It came to like CAN$13 and was very filling and yummy!
Definitely a must try in Toronto! Sign feels like clickbait but it's cheap, affordable, and compares well to higher price point dumplings. By no means are the dumplings here elite, but they are on par with most dumplings at a fraction of the cost. Ordering is very easy with their numbering system (P# for pan fried, S# for steamed, etc). P1 Pan Fried (pork) - honestly the pan fry sounded amazing but it doesn't work that well in XLB style. Felt like less soup and the crisp wasn't that relevant with the small surface area. P4 Pan Fried (chicken) - the pan fry here is much better with more ground to cover, though opt for P3 because it's so juicy. The chicken made this a bit more dry, no juices leaked through, meanwhile the pork one was dripping like a XLB! S1 Steamed (pork) - like a XLB with hearty soup, a very classic dumpling that has no wrongs. Not dried out and it was amazing, on par with most higher priced soup dumplings out there.
It's an interesting concept to see for fast food dumplings. It wasn't bad nor was it really good, but it was perfectly fine for a quick grab and go lunch. They all look so delicious, but when it came out, it was clear that it was either made hours before and reheated or just has been sitting out for a while..none of our dumplings were piping hot, and neither was the Soup inside the soup dumplings, which was a bummer. The fried chicken was hot and good, but we also ordered the mini sesame balls that tasted a bit like there was some chemical in there and it wasn't fully cooked through-- super gross. read more
To be able to get an order of dumplings under $5 is an absolute steal! At these price points, I wasn't expecting the dumplings to be packed with filling. Because I don't eat pork, I was sad that I wasn't able to enjoy how good dumplings are. Another great thing, we didn't wait too long for our order. I ordered the Pan Fried Chicken Dumplings, and man! That shit was an explosion of flavour, && what I've been missing for years! I also ordered the Cumin Fried Chicken and I personally found it so be incredibly appetizing. Full-flavoured, fiery, light and crispy fried chicken. Reminding me of Spicy BBQ Cumin Lamb Skewers! Shoutout to my sis for showing me this Gem! my bf and I will definitely go back, and If you enjoy dumplings you NEED to stop by! read more

Decided to try this place because I was really craving dumplings and the price was too good to be true. With covid there is only room in the front to order and there behind a big glass with microphone. The menu is along the wall In front of you with large photos with descriptions, price and they're all numbered. Makes ordering a breeze. Once done ordering you follow the arrows to the back of the store (inside the mall) to pick up your order worm your number is called. Food arrives to you very quickly and they have forks for us non chopstick using people. Plus a few choice of sauces to dip your dumplings in. We got the pan fried pork soup dumplings and regular soup dumplings. Both were excellent and hot but the pan fried were my favorite. I wish I would've orders the pan fried chicken dumplings but maybe next time. Quick, inexpensive and delicious. The trifecta!! read more
I mean, with all things considered, these are some of the best value-for-quality dumplings you'll find in the entirety of Ontario. Located literally in the heart of Chinatown (Dundas/Spadina), the screaming red store sign that speaks of $2.99 for 6 dumplings is sure to pull any and everybody in. This place is the epitome of a "quick, cheap snack" and easily wins the heart of both Chinese and non-Chinese people alike. In fact, during my visit, the majority of customers were not Asian. It just goes to show you the appreciation that literally anyone would have for food that is tasty, cheap, and warms the soul. At this price point, I'd honestly be tempted to just drop by and eat even when I'm not hungry. It's dangerously affordable. One more note: the "Shrimp Wonton with Spicy Sauce" is in fact not spicy at all? I can't even eat spicy and when I tried it, I didn't taste any heat? Anyway, just a heads up. read more
Not bad!! I came for the $2.99 xlb!! $2.99 Canadians! Say what?! The concept is great: kinda fast food, kinda not. But it's fast food dumplings and pot stickers and fried buns! In a white bright area: app orders, Togo's, sit down!! All in one. And it's cheap and delicious. What's not to like. I took a bunch Togo and didn't eat them till an hour or two later. But the soup dumplings were still juicy. Pan fried buns were my favorite! Really just in and out with a huge wait. But totally worth it!! They also have cumin flavor fried chicken $5.99 I believe, shrimp wontons in chili oil, wonton soup, green onion pancakes and crab dumplings! I had steamed pork soup dumplings, steamed chicken dumplings, pan fried soup dumplings and crab and pork steam dumplings. Pork soup dumplings were $2.99, the rest range from $3.99 to $6.99 for 6 pcs. Not all were perfect. But!! Still worth it! I'd totally return! read more
Juicy dumpling is has the BEST soup dumplings in town hands down for such a cheap price tag of $2.99 for 6. They skin is super thin and soup is amazing! The soup dumplings that are a little fried at the bottom and even better! It's just so good, I can't wait to come back and eat some more! read more
This is probably the best restaurant I've been to in the past year. Hands down. It's cheap. It's somewhat fast. And have I said that I absolutely LOVE the xiao long bao there?? It's crazy. Mind you, I have the taste buds of a college student who usually cooks his own food (poorly); therefore, I see even a McDonald's as a delicacy. But for REAL the food at Juicy Dumpling is f u e g o. What I ordered: - S1 Soup Dumpings (6) for $3 I ordered 4 more orders after the first time I went. Service: These ppl literally don't care about the customers but that's okay cus what asian establishment does? Seating: Barely any but they pack all of the food in paper boxes regardless so it's easy to travel with them. read more
I've heard so many great things about Juicy Dumpling and finally had the chance to come try it out! I must say it really lives up to its reputation. Delicious and affordable, nothing gets better than that. My friend and I ordered the steamed mini pork dumpling (6 pieces), deep fried dough stick (2 pieces), pan fried buns (4 pieces), pan fried mini pork dumpling (6 pieces). In total we only spent $7.50 each! That's crazy! You can never buy a meal for less than $10-$15 nowadays so only spending $7.50 and it filling you up a lot is very good. The dumplings were very delicious, as the name says, they were all very juicy. The food took around 10 minutes because of our deep fried dough sticks, but I saw that everyone got their food in about 5 minutes which is also amazing. I was very pleased and I'm 100% coming back again! I could never get sick of dumplings. read more

What we ordered: S1 Steamed Mini Soup Dumpling (Pork) $2.99 P2 Pan Fried Mini Soup Dumping (Crab & Pork) $6.99 W2 Shrimp Wonton w/ spicy sauce (with pork) $7.99 P3 Pan Fried Juicy Buns (Pork) $3.99 This place really goes by the name "Juicy Dumpling." Starting with the service, it does get pretty packed in there during lunch hour. It is more like a fast food service, when you enter, you would order first. They understand English (so that's a plus, you don't need to learn Chinese, or poke your fingers at the menu) and Chinese. When you order they do have a sign asking people to let them know if they are to pay in cash or card, and if they're eating here or take out just to speed up the line. They then give you a beeper and you just go stand or sit aside and wait for it to beep. They have self serve condiments that include vinegar, soya sauce, sriracha, etc. The tables aren't the cleanest but they try their best to take the time to wipe them down as people come and go. The food took 10 minutes for 4 dishes. S1 was the most commonly ordered one. The soup in it was not hot which is why i took one star off the rating. Definitely not that big of a deal. S1 and P2 tasted almost the same, same complain, the soup inside wasn't hot. W2 The dish was hot, the chilli oil was just the right amount. P3 My personal favorite one. There was soup in it (that was hot), and the bun was thin, crispy at the bottom. Just be careful that the soup is very hot in this one Overall very delicious, affordable price, great location, a minute walk from the 510 streetcar. Definitely be back soon. Thank you for your hard work Juicy Dumpling. read more

This is a Toronto staple for a quick and cheap bite in the heart of Chinatown! I mean 6 pieces of soup dumplings for $3.99 you really can't go wrong with that. Is it the freshest and most luxurious looking? No. Is it a bang for your buck? Yes. It is usually hard to sit at a table there but usually people are quick to finish eating, it is a little nitty gritty and could definitely use a wipe down. read more

Food: 5 Price: $ Interior: 4 We had lunch at another fancier restaurant in the area - Asian Legend and ordered the crab pork dumplings, that is incomparable to crab pork dumplings served in Juicy Dumpling - the fast food place here. The crab and pork dumplings here are soooo delicious, and at very affordable price point. We ordered a regular pork dumpling ($3) and a crab+pork dumpling ($6), both are very juicy, and extremely delicious.. comparable to the ones we had in China, or New York's Spring Deer Restaurant. Wished I had more room in my tummy to get more of it. This place deserves a Michellin recommendation. read more
Quick service, great value, small portion size. Ideal for quick bite. What We Got: Steamed pork soup dumplings (six small ones for $2.99) What We Liked: +Made to order +Full of flavour +Very juicy! +$0.50 a soup dumpling... What I'd nitpick -truly bite sized. Not meant for full meal. But at $2.99, you knew that -gets incredibly packed peak hours. Stay away between 7 - 730! What We'd Recommend //Yeah get #1 - six steamed pork soup dumplings for $2.99 Next Time ... probably try the fried stuff. And more of the juicy soup dumplings! read more
Came here during stage 3 of the global COVID-19 pandemic. The way Juicy Dumpling is currently operating is quite safe. Where you order in the front and pick up your food at the back. So if you're in town, I wouldn't be afraid to order at this place. At Juicy Dumpling, you get amazing deals that you really can't find anywhere else. $2.99 for 6 soup dumplings. Yes, you read that correctly. Insane value for such amazing dumplings. The dumplings have plenty of soup, very thin wrapper, and a good portion of meat. Some issues I did have with the dumpling was that the first dumpling I had, I tasted a weird porky flavour, a flavour you taste when the meat isn't very fresh. But, on subsequent dumplings I didn't notice any odd flavours at all. I also wish they provided chili oil with their dumplings. They do have spicy sauce, but it's a very generic and boring chili sauce that doesn't go very well with dumplings. But then again, these dumplings were 3 dollars, it's really hard to complain! I also noticed they serve green onion pancakes, so I just HAD to order them. They were extremely fresh and pipping hot. There weren't as many onions as I hoped, but the dough was fantastic. Crispy on the outside, flaky, and chewy once you take a few bites. If there were more green onions, it would definitely be up there with the green onion pancakes I've had. read more

The pan fried pork soup dumpling and the regular pork ones are our fav of the soup dumplings. The second favorite is for sure the shumai. The crab and pork are also good but I'd stick to the pork ones. The chicken dumplings are also good. read more

My two friends and I were pretty impressed with the hot and fresh dumplings served at Juicy Dumplings! I ordered the S1 steamed mini soup dumpling (pork) 6 pc for $2.99 and the P1 Pan fried mini soup dumpling (pork) 6 pc for $3.99. Prices are decent, service was fast and the portion was satisfying. It's a great place to grab a quick snack or a small meal on the go! read more

In the heart of China town, juicy dumpling offers cheap prices for decent food. We got the $2.99 for pork soup dumplings and the pan fried chicken dumplings (4 for $5 I believe). Unfortunately I can't eat pork so my boyfriend tried the soup dumplings and rated them a 6-7 out of 10. I got the pan fried chicken dumplings and wow they were huge and pretty delicious. I wouldn't say it's the most delicious, but for the price it's a nice and quick option. read more

I love places that are unassuming and great value. I will definitely be a regular here. I had the pork soup dumplings, shrimp wonton soup and fried chicken. Everything was well seasoned and tasty! The chicken was on the spicy side but other than that it was all so delicious. Check them out if your in china town ! read more

Juicy Dumpling is a great place to get soup (xiao long bao) and pan fried dumplings at a very affordable price. They also several other side items you can order such as fried dough sticks on the menu. This place is situated on the ground floor of a Chinese mall. Seating is very limited given the popularity but there's a sign indicating that additional tables are available if you go deeper into the mall. The restaurant does not provide service and you are require to order and pick up your items at the counter like any other fast food restaurants. What's great is that they provide you with a device which rings to notify you when your order is ready. We opted for the pork pan fried dumplings, shrimp soup dumplings, and red spicy dumplings. We waited about 10-15 minutes for our order and it wasn't incredible busy in the restaurant. They do offer self-serve condiments which is a must have if you're eating any kind of dumplings. For soup dumplings, I recommend a ratio of 1:3 for soy sauce and black vinegar. For regular pan fried dumplings, plain black vinegar is the way to go. All of the dumplings had a generous filling of meat that's wrapped within a thin wrapper. However, the soup dumplings were the most disappointing. Traditionally, xiao long bao is cooked and kept inside a bamboo basket so they are still steaming hot when served. Since these dumplings have liquid into them, everyone knows that it's easy to burn yourself while eating these! The soup dumplings here were LUKEWARM at best. The pan fried dumplings were warm as well and they lacked a crunchy base that had I expected from pan frying. I'm guessing they let these sit out too long rather than making them fresh to order. read more

This is my first time trying soup dumplings so I can't really compare it to others but I would say the taste is of rich fatty pork and a bit of ginger. It is flavourful on its own and doesn't need any sauce. The skin is thin but not as thin as others I've seen online. It also arrived hot but I think you could eat it right away without burning your tongue and having that numb stingy feeling. The wait time was a minute or less and the cashier was average in the sense that she was like any other cashier. The price was $3.15 (tax included) but I think for the amount, you should get two boxes for yourself or three boxes to share with a friend. read more

Rating: 4/5 Summary: We were skeptical of Juicy Dumpling at first because numerous locations in Spadina Chinatown have disappointed us before... but this place totally exceeded our expectations! We think this place is definitely worth visiting. Whether you are familiar with this type of food or not, you won't be disappointed. Food: Not only is the food super yummy, but the prices are amazing: only $2.99 for six of their top-selling soup dumplings??? Is this real life? Also let's not forget to mention that they pride themselves in being able to serve your order up in under five minutes, and they actually do. Juicy Dumpling specializes in steamed soup dumplings (xiaolongbao) and they are absolutely delicious, especially when they are fresh off the steamer. The meat used has a good consistency and the soup is literally bursting with mouthwatering flavors. We were both blown away with how good these dumplings were. The only factor that may detract from you having a 10/10 experience with this dish is if your batch of dumplings had been sitting on the back counter for a bit too long. In this case, the skin hardens, and the skin ends up being the focal element of each bite rather than the succulent meat and soup filling. When piping hot though, the dumplings are fantastic! No complaints! Equally good are their pan-fried juicy pork buns (shengjianbao), which come in a set of four buns for $3.99. These buns have a doughier skin than the xiaolongbao and a larger meaty filling. The consistency of the skin is crunchy and chewy, while the taste of the filling is very satisfying. These are very good when dipped in your choice of soy sauce or vinegar. One item we weren't crazy about was the fried rice cake. Guys, it's literally just a block of fried plain white rice. But I mean, if you're into that, we ain't gonna judge ya. Conclusion: Google reviews rates it as a 4.5/5 and we give it a 4/5. We definitely think it's worth a visit. You're not going to get the best service or atmosphere there (but we don't think it's fair to look for that in a fast food restaurant like this), but we do think the food is worth your time, especially given its price. I actually liked the dumplings and they were cheap, so that's a great advantage, service was good, normal I might say as in every other place. It was a little full, and as it has few tables it was kind of hard to get seats but good place read more
You want fast-food style dumplings? This is your spot! Considering how pocket-friendly, how fast and efficient the service was, super friendly staff, and pretty yummy dumplings - this place is pretty bomb. Now, don't expect the best XLB's that you'll ever have in your life, but for $2.99 for 6 (pork), they were delicious. These weren't our favourite bites but definitely give these a go considering how cheap they are. Must gets: 1. Pan-fried juicy buns (pork) $3.99/4- way better soup than the XLB's and is super flavourful 2. Seafood pancake $6.99 - a limited item so if you've got a chance to try definitely do so. Great crunch and nice contrast to all the dumplings 3. If you're going to get the XLB's, just get the pork. Definitely not worth it to get the pork and crab for an extra $3. Save those $3 or get another order of the pork XLB's. They get super busy and the line-ups get fairly long, but not to worry because the turnover is quick and you'll get your food in no time. A couple of seats in the restaurant, but there's also additional seating at the food court if it's packed. read more
