This is my go to place for smoothies and juices in the Austin area. It's a local chain so there are locations in all areas of Austin, and each one I've been to has friendly staff and hipster vibes- a perfect Austin depiction. Though such freshly and locally made smoothies and juices can get expensive, juiceland offers daily specials as well as a loyalty punch card! Probably why I'm so hooked. Agua frescas are super refreshing for when you want something lighter and cheaper, and the protein packed smoothies are great for when you need a meal replacement. Not only do they have smoothies and juices for every purpose, but juiceland also has some cool healthy food and snacks to take to go also! The first thing that came out of my mouth when I tried the drink was, "Well...I guess it's not really watermelon season, is it?" My boyfriend had ordered the Rosie Cheek - watermelon and raspberry juice, with lemon & rose water. It was refreshing, yes, but it lacked the typical sweetness of a fresh watermelon. You know how unripe watermelons sort of taste like cucumbers? This juice sort of tasted like lemony cucumbers. Anyway, Austinites love their juice and all things trendy and healthy and hip, and I can see why JuiceLand has so much appeal - both the exterior and the interior and the entire vibe were bright and weird and crazy (the music was sort of bad though). A warm winter is foreign to me, as is feeling parched in February. So after a sunny hill-filled run, a detour to JuiceLand was necessary. One step inside, and I already felt like I was refueling and undoing the previous day's tamale indulgence. I needed hydration, so the Cold Shower - a minty, cucumber, watermelon cooler - did the trick. My running buddy needed something more substantial, so he opted for the Moontower, a blend of almond milk, banana, dates, cacao and brown rice protein that tasted more like an indulgent chocolate shake than a health food smoothie. We couldn't just visit JuiceLand once on our trip. The second time around, we ordered the Wundershowzen and Soul Boulder. Deceptively green in color, the Wundershowzen is a blend of spinach, banana and PB with a light and lovely but prominent PB taste. The Soul Boulder is berry-forward and loaded with plenty of good-for-you foods: fresh coconut water, cacao powder and brown rice protein. It's sweet, nutty and refreshing. There's no shortage of juice spots in Chicago, but none have the laid-back feel and expansive menu that JuiceLand Austin does. I'll miss it. read more

I love juiceland! It's expensive...but so good. They have a huge variety of juices, smoothies, and even a menu of hot drinks when the weather starts to get cold. Right now my favorite is the Originator. At first I wasn't sure about the peanut butter but mmmm, it's like peanut butter and jelly. It's also the special on Wednesdays so WOOHOO! Other fruity smoothie favorites of mine are the Morning Sunshine, Home Run, and Brazilian Kisses. I've also had the Recovery Punch before when I felt like getting a juice and it was very refreshing! Salty, but refreshing. They used to have a stamp card system but they recently stopped and started using a point system off their iPad. It makes me sad because now you get 1 point for every dollar and you have to get 50 points for only $2 off. It used to be 10 stamps (drinks) and you get $5 off which is definitely a better deal. But if you still have your stamp card they're taking 50¢ off/stamp of your next purchase. read more

I am in big troubles. In the hot Texas summer, nothing quenches thirst like a big gulp of smoothies from Juice Land. The only thing stopping me before from getting smoothies everyday was because their locations were not that convenience from where I live. All of that changed when Juice Land took over the failing Rita's location (thank goodness!) on Guadalupe and 28th. Now this location is so dangerously convenient, I could get addicted to going there often. Why don't I just succumb to the naturally sweet and healthy concoction they blend up, you ask. Well, they are not cheap. The ones I like (my favorites are Annabelle and Berry Godmother) are about $5 - $6 a pop (medium size). They could put serious dent to my wallet. I have to balance the wallet and my cravings delicately. But when I do get my Juice Land fix, I usually forget about my wallet. I'm definitely in big troubles. read more

Over two visits, I ordered a juice and a protein smoothie. The juice was tasty, and given that it was during the summer, I slurped it up quickly. Being the first time I had a real protein smoothie, the taste was strange, but it slowly grew on me the more I drank it. I only knocked one star because it's pricey! It definitely breaks the bank if you are a regular. They have plenty of parking spaces which is helpful especially near campus. The staff is friendly, unique and great at recommending suggestions and really represent the brand of the company. Here's my favs and they offer unsweetened almond milk: For drinks -wundershowzen -originator except I sub the apple juice with almond milk. If you leave the Apple juice it tastes similar to peanut butter and jelly. -triple double except they added strawberries to help the protein flavor not stand out as much -hands down, moon tower is my top choice. Ambience is great and staff is nice. Wide selection of drinks - typical juice land stuff. I got something with a bunch of mango in it and found it to be tasty. Great atmosphere for friends and small groups. Only drawback is it's a bit pricey, but if you sign up for the rewards program, there are perks (e.g. coupons). Ehhh I came here because it was raining really badly and I was hungry wet and cold. So I walk in, and I see a cute interior. It's nice. I'm greeted by a really nice guy so that's always nice too. Then I gravitate to the food section, resigned to eating something there. I was told they had vegan everything so I was excited to get whatever I wanted. It was cold and rainy and I was pressed for time so I got the taco salad and the ginger lemon tea , which was so warm and I'm 110% sure that that's why I'm not sick from getting soaked in the rain. The salad was good and fresh- BUT. You guys knew a "but" was coming haha. BUT the salad was 90% carrots. I mean carrots are fine it's whatever but I wanted a taco salad with cashew chorizo not a bunch of grated carrots with three mini baby tomatoes (I used two adjectives to emphasize how small these were) and a spoonful of cashew chorizo. There weren't gay many black beans on it either so that sucked. The dressing is BOMB though- it's vegan queso and it's awesome! But the rest of the salad is really missing the mark- and it's freaking 9 dollars okay that salad fit in the palm of my hand. Needless to say, I had to stop by CVS and buy snacks right after the salad. So it is overpriced and small and covered in carrots. I would recommend this place to you if you needed the tiniest bite to eat and had money to spend. As a college student I do not and I'm in mourning with my wallet as I plan to just double up on canned beans and rice instead. If you do go, I'd only return for the ginger lemon hot tea, which seriously kicked my immune system back into gear. read more
