I found this amazing location in the heart of the University of Texas. It's a little difficult to find if you are not visiting the campus but worth the effort. They have many amazing food and drink options and the staff is especially helpful. We opted for the raw-pb bowl after our 10 mile trek on the Lady Bird Trail. This was a great treat that was well deserved, a special shout out to Arely for making this amazing trophies.

This place was conveniently located inside of Gregory Gym on campus. The smoothies and bowls were protein-based and very nutritious. They were thick and delicious too. My favorites were the greens to go, original acai bowl, and banana split. Great after a workout or for an afternoon pick-me-up! They were a bit pricey and sometimes the lines were long. Once a year (at the beginning of the school year), students used to get a free smoothie too!

    perfect 10 ( i think)

this was honestly one of the best smoothies i've had, very yum yummy and close to campus

The best place to get acai bowls or smoothies near campus. My favorite is the raw pb bowl! I wish there was an option to change the sweetness levels though -- sometimes it's way too sweet that I can't taste anything else. Other than that, it's great! Such a convenient location at greg. The wait times can also get a bit long at peak hours

    Dragon bowl with 1/2 agave

Came here after working out at Greg for an acai bowl because I wanted a sweet treat to fuel after a workout. I ordered at the self service tablet (but you can order in person). I got the dragon bowl with half agave. It was so good. I actually didn't expect it to be so sweet and was surprised. Next time, I'll probably get it without the agave. I loved all the toppings included too. The only thing is I wish it didn't melt so quickly. As soon as I stepped outside it started melting and turned into a watery consistency and separated into two layers. Another complaint my boyfriend had was about the protein they used. He claimed that it wasnt a very clean source. For about $7 it was a bit on the expensive side but I guess it's a hipster thing. The service was pretty quick. I didnt have to wait too long for my bowl and I was happy with it. I would probably come back again next time if I was looking for a treat.

I was pleasantly surprised when I entered Greg one day and saw a place that sells smoothie bowls! I ordered the original açaí bowl. Love coconut flakes and granola - this was no exception. Also liked the how the addition of protein didn't give it a chalky consistency. Overall, the granola was tasty and the flavors were there - just giving a 4/5 because it was more on the liquidy side (more smoothie like, less bowl like). This is a perfect location to have a smoothie place. I would definitely love getting something from here after a workout or a day of tanning by the Gregory Pool.

i've had Very good quality smoothies and bowls and plan to keep coming back here. the SMART part is that u can literally see every ingredient and customize single food item there using their touchscreen ordering pads. It is AMAZING. I FEEL SOO HEALTHY eating their food and the staff are always friendly and happy college kids. They also offer good quality ingredients that are harder ti come by like pitaya and caco nibs. You can even customize ur own protein powder flavors and types, and of course the milk, toppings, etc for bowls. I love their bowls. You also make ur smoothies into bowls. Their highly flexible and efficient business model makes me so happy and the quality and flavor of the food is the best I've ever had and I'm a huge smoothie person. I really. Like. This. Place. Highly recommend.

Raw Açaí Bowl is my absolute favorite!

I absolutely love this place - my favorite healthy stop on UT campus. They're fast and friendly, two things pretty rare on this campus. The down sides are that it's a bit pricey and I wish they had more whole fruit in their bowls. Their digital ordering system makes it really easy to customize your order to whatever you want though!

This place is the place to be. Its got a rockin' vibe and a stellar feel. The employees are fresh & cool, they make you smile and laugh with the small talk while waiting to get your drinks. The management seems to have it together since the place is so clean, I wouldn't mind changing my sons diaper on their floors. The employees are dope, I hear the owners are pretty rad although I havent met them personally. Highly recommend the drinks, the protein is delicious and no chalky taste. In all seriousness, highly recommend, they are awesome.

They do an impressive assortment of drinks from Turkish, Saudi with Coffee, saffron, cardamom, Lattes, Pour Overs, French Press, Cold brew iced coffee and many other drinks! And did I mention their handmade desserts? Lots of choices. I decided on a Pistachio Latte and a slice of Pistachio cheesecake to compliment it. It was stupendous. The latte was perfectly delicious- creamy nutty not too sweet and just the perfect temperature. The cheese cake was decadent, sweet, creamy and just a perfect blend. So good! The Baristas were fun to watch create drinks, very precise, professional and caring about doing their best job. Open later than most coffee shops, especially in this deserted part of town. Varied drink menu, both caffeinated and not caffeinated, including refreshers. Nice creative variety of desserts (including a Biscoff cake!) and a kolaches case. At one point the brought some hot baked dessert (looked like a whole coffee cake) out the oven and it smelled like heaven. The bad: Nothing vegan or healthy, not even pre-made cold sandwiches or packaged salads. If you are a little peckish for a healthy snack, this is not the place. The coffees: They have all the regular espresso drinks, and also Turkish coffee and of course Yemeni, their specialty. I had heard great things about Yemeni coffee and was exciting to try it. My first drink, a traditional coffee drink called Jubani ($6) contained coffee but was watery like a tea. It had also ginger and cinnamon. I was not expecting it to be like a tea. I immediately told the cashier I didn't like the drink and would like just an Americano, double shot espresso. I was charged $9 for a 12 oz cup. No cream or sugar, no added flavorings. If I were in charge I wouldn't have charged for this second drink, since it comes at almost zero cost to them and would show good faith and ensure repeat business. Disappointingly, the Americano was also watery and sort of "lemony", but I still drank half while sitting with my friend. I'll say that my friend had some sort of an iced latte that she enjoyed. I might try a second visit and order a Turkish coffee, but I will make sure to have had a full meal before.

While exploring the many museums across the University of Texas campus, a quick caffeine break was needed for my girlfriend and we were overwhelmed by the number of options on The Drag. It makes sense that there are plenty of places to choose from because of the large number of UT students. Everyone needs a little coffee in their lives. One of the highest reviewed ones with a large pool of ratings was Lucky Lab Coffee and after checking a few quick reviews, we decided to give it a chance. Lucky Lab has five locations in Austin (four on campus) and one location in Dripping Springs. The one we were at off The Drag was their flagship. This location serves a little bit of everything from sandwiches to pastries, salad to quiche, and of course, coffee. As we walked inside the flagship, it is easy to notice how tight the space is. There is very little seating inside at their bar, but they make up for it with plenty of shaded outdoor space that is perfect for a nice day. Scanning their menu, we landed on some drinks from their winter menu. I was intrigued by their Pomegranate Rosemary Latte while my girlfriend tried their Ginger Spice Mocha. We got them both iced. First, it is interesting to see the fusion of pomegranate and rosemary in a latte. I was intrigued by those flavors. Their drink sizes are 12 oz, 16 oz, and 20 oz, each adding an additional 50 cents to each upgrade. All milk alternatives cost 1 dollar. It was only a short wait to get our coffees and the cup with the little lab on it was cute. I think specialty drinks have an opportunity to be amazing and one of a kind or the worst drink imaginable. This pomegranate rosemary latte did not fall into either category exactly, but leaned more toward the latter. I love pomegranates and I always appreciate how earthy rosemary can be in a coffee. One of my favorite lattes I have ever had has rosemary in it. This was just not working for me. I shamefully did not finish my coffee. As for my girlfriend, she did not like her ginger spice mocha. I could not imagine gingerbread syrup not working in a mocha, but after trying it myself it was not for me either. It seems like a perfect match, but here the gingerbread is competing with the chocolate and instead of complementing each other they clash. She told me that the flavors were "un-mocha like". She drank less than half of her coffee before tossing it as well. Neither of us wanted to dislike Lucky Lab. They seem well established and I felt like they were trustworthy based on reviews, but I wonder what these previous reviewers were tweaking on or what magical concoction of coffee granted from heaven above they were sipping on because we were distraught by how disappointing these drinks were. I would like to give Lucky Lab Coffee Co the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe the specialty drinks were not up to par with their traditional beverages. However, the almost 30 different syrup options on their wall make me feel they lack a little focus and try too hard to stand out. They lose what makes a coffee good, which is coffee. I want to say I will give them a second shot in the future to see if it was just an off day or a bad beverage pick. Too many shots turns a Lucky Lab into Old Yeller. The lab needs to be put on a leash before I think about returning. RIYL: options

I usually only go to coffee shops to work, but today, went on a coffee date with my dog instead. There's ground floor parking in the garage that's complimentary for two hours. I kept it simple with a vanilla latte. I noticed they had tacos at the bottom of the food menu, but at $13.25 for two tacos + an a la carte item, I decided to pass. Maybe my expectations were too high (as usual) because it's inside a hotel, but I was hoping for the kind of warm hospitality hotels are known for, but instead, the service felt a bit cold. It didn't exactly make me want to spend more money there. While sitting on the patio, I spotted the food truck outside and thought, "PERFECT. A food truck HAS to be cheaper. Take that Simona's!" I walked up to the window... only to find out it wasn't actually a separate food truck. It was just the pickup window. To order? I had to go back inside to Simona's and place my order with the delightful staff... I ended up ordering two Blue Migas tacos, and honestly, they were just... good, but nothing memorable. They tasted like your average breakfast tacos that you can find all over Austin for less. Despite loving how relaxing the outdoor patio is with its lucious greenery surrounding you and the beautiful French chairs and cafe tables, it's located right next to the hotel pool. If you're visiting on a summer afternoon, expect some extra noise with pool guests. If you're looking for a quiet coffee or a place to work, I'd recommend coming early in the morning instead.
