My wife and I are in our 80's and needed help keeping our home clean. We decided to try J's Maids and are very happy we did. We never used a maid service before and were so pleased with their initial house cleaning that we signed up for their service every other week. The maids are very thorough with attention to detail (bathrooms, kitchen, table and chair legs, all floors, blinds, ceiling cobwebs, you name it, they cleaned it). They use cleaning products and tools that ensure that they are able to do the great job that they do. In addition to their professionalism, they are friendly, and flexible; working around us if we are present and adjusting to tasks we request. In addition, J's Maids management stays involved and ensures that we are happy -- we are. We want J's Maids to succeed as a business, not just because they deserve to, but because we selfishly want to continue to enjoy their service. Being a recently disabled person has its challenges, and one of them is finding reliable help to get me through the week. I had seen J's Maids for years on Foothill Blvd. and decided to give them a try. It started off wonderfully, their field supervisor came by and surveyed my house, gave me an estimate and set a date for their crew to come by and clean my house. Unfortunately, they sent a crew that didn't speak English. The field supervisor never came by and the 3 of them worked for 3.5 hours and went home without finishing the job. I figured that they could come back and do what I needed. I called their office and requested that they CALL or TEXT me before they came back the next month. They then showed up unexpectedly to work. Now let me tell you, the crew (even though they didn't speak English) did a great job, but it was really expensive $338. for 5 rooms and 3 bathrooms. I called the office once again and asked for the Liliana the field manager and was told "She wasn't at her desk." So I left a message for her to call me back. I asked the person who answered the phone WHY DIDN'T THEY CALL OR MESSAGE ME. And she flat out began to lie to me. She said that SHE had called me a couple times and left word on my voicemail. That's impossible to do as I don't have voicemail. I asked her what phone number she called and after hemming and hawing around, gave me my fax number. I then asked her if she had my cell phone number in my file and she said yes. Unfortunately, she was looking at the caller ID and gave me the wrong number, when I pointed out that it was the wrong number, she got snippy with me. Customer service is what companies do to keep their customers. Theirs was horrible. I still haven't received a call back from LILIANA the SERVICE REP, and although I'm desperate, I won't be using them again. read more

I was moving into a condo and thought I'd treat myself to having the cupboards, shelves, and floors cleaned, so I could concentrate on the moving bit. Three ladies came and spent about three hours. The one in the kitchen kept telling me how to say "tired" in Spanish. The other two looked like they were working, so I stayed out of their way. When they left, I could take a wet rag and white dirt off of so many places. I ended up doing the whole job myself, and I did take before, and after pictures of particularly dirty places in the dirt on the rags after I wiped. I was billed $504. The service was definitely not worth that if anything. Additionally, I had contractors for someone to come and do windows the next day. No one showed up when I called. They said there was no appointment. Yet the ladies had left the equipment for the window washer. Figure that. I will be calling the owner because I know him but he was out of town when all this happened. read more

As a longtime customer, I'm sorry to report that their service has declined dramatically while their prices have gone way up. They won't tell you when they're coming until the day before your booking, and then they don't show up when they say they will! I've complained about this many times and they do NOT care. read more

I used them twice. The first time I thought they did a great job. They are very expensive. The second time they came they left early, by 10 minutes, but because of their price that's money. My floors were also not done very well but the biggest disappointment was that my child's beloved blankie was missing. We did not accuse them, we know we could have lost it. I called them 4 times. They were polite but kept forgetting to call me back and admitted to forgetting to look for the blanket. The rags they use are blue and the same size as his blankie. I even called for the 4th time a week past and a person there said they would search the girls car. Which should have been done a week prior. He never called me back. Perhaps we lost it but the fact that they didn't call us back really made me lose faith them being in my home and my child is without his favorite blanket we had had for 5 years. read more

Overall, this service does the job. It took a while to get the routine down. It really depends on the cleaning crew on how it turns out. I would recommend when you find the right crew for how you like your home cleaned, request that crew with Ernesto. I took off a star because of the back end communication. I've tried organizing appointments and requests with other staff member and it falls through the cracks. The girls were not afraid to use elbow grease, did good detail work (getting into corners, cleaning sills, dusting away cobwebs) and didn't need to be told to do those things. The girls are so polite when they come into our office. They charge by the hour and they are SO FAST! Woah baby... I can't believe it. I thought if they are hourly they will be slow as molasses but they ZIP through our office. They are easy to schedule - but yes, once we did have a bit of a scheduling fiasco. When I called to make an appointment, I talked to Ernesto and he was so polite and let know how it all works (my first time hiring a cleaning service). $185 $185 $185!!! That was our Christmas Thanks Yesterday! Our prices have increased. Our house is 1700 square feet. It takes 3 of them 1.5 hours. Do the math. No cleaning floorboards and we've had to bring them back now 3 times after they ran out of our house at warp speed! No J's Maids, you are rude to do this to loyal customers. Shame on you! Worst ever They don't clean under beds They don't open things to clean like a microwave. They have 3 hrs to clean and they do the least amount . Um. the cleaning was great... but someone on the crew took about $4 in quarters from my coin dish (and I do my laundry- quarters are GOLD. Was even planning to do the laundry when i got home that day- so i knew exactly how much i had)... when i called to complain the woman offered $10 off my next visit because (of course) none of the cleaners confessed... They did kindly send a check for $5- not that that makes me trust them to have them clean again. SO, if you have an empty apartment, go for it... but if you care about your stuff- EVEN quarters- I'd suggest you go elsewhere. read more

1) When scheduling an appointment, the office staff is very kind and flexible. 2) They followed up with a phone message the day before reminding me of the expected time frame of the arrival of the cleaning team. 3) They showed up when they said they would! 4) The ladies on the cleaning team were very friendly. One of them listened very intently to what I had to say about the different rooms in our house and the cleaning needs we had, which she then translated to everyone in detail. 5) The three of them went to work and I was amazed at how quickly yet thoroughly everything got finished. 6) The price is MORE than reasonable, for three people on a cleaning crew, and the level of thoroughness. I mean they lifted up every knick knack on every shelf and dusted. They wiped the walls down, the tub is spotless, the floors are swept, mopped, vacuumed - everything looks fantastic and our home feels so much more welcoming. As often as I've thought about it, I've never written a YELP review but J's Maids are friendly and such great value, I had to. They came on Friday. Jose cleaned the windows as they've never been done in the 18 years we've lived in our house. Every pane twinkles and so does everything in the house after four J's Maids blasted through it. They cleaned our 2,000 sq. ft. house in less than 2 hours, supervised by Antoinette. They did it efficiently and carefully. (One of them found a tiny piece of broken jewelry -- three links of a gold chain -- that she gave me in case it was important.) It was a relief to know J's Maids are insured and bonded and all the maids are employees, covered by worker's comp with all employment taxes paid. And the best part -- they use green cleaning products. It's exhilarating to stop seeing our house as yet more work to do and to just enjoy being home. We're hooked! read more

It usually takes me over 5 hours to get my home to look that way, but these women were able to do it in one hour. They arrived on time and began from the minute they arrived until the very minute that they left. They did not goof off at all. I had a list of 80 things they had to clean and they cleaned everything on the list within the time frame quoted and within my budget. They even cleaned my walls. We've been using J's for about 4 years now. We LOVE them. They are reliable, trustworthy, appropriately priced, and most importantly they do a thorough job! We have two kids, two dogs and a cat...I can not keep up with the hair in our home! They leave my house so fresh and clean, and they use all green products and will use NO chemicals if you want. I work freelance, and they have also been very flexible if I need to change schedules sometimes. We decided to go with them because our office was close by - let's give a chance to the local businesses. Mediocre job. The worst of all - lack of communication. In the course of the time we had them as a cleaning service, I tried calling, e-mailing, texting when we had complains - no reply! Ok, needed a thorough cleaning before the house was rented out, we went local like we always try to do when we find somebody reputable. Well that didn't work out well at all. The manager was going to send their best crew, but they must have been blind or drunk (or both). Filth everywhere, dust, grime, cobwebs, none of what was pointed out was cleaned. Very disappointing, yet, when the manager checked up on the job, they were surprised by the negative comments, very apologetic. Said she would come by and send another crew the next day, well, the next week went by and NOTHING, to this day, not a word. So apparently they are content with the miserable job they did. Servicing the local area, I would think they would have more concern for their customers, and their reputation, but apparently not. Never heard from them again, so FAIL, don't use them unless you want to support the lazy and unethical. My family has been using J's Maid Service for more than twenty (20) years, both for our residence and rental properties (large houses often in need of a good cleaning after either a long-term tenant has moved out, or after we have had the place remodeled and there is construction dust everywhere); their work has always been excellent. In the rare instance there ever has been any kind of problem, all we've had to do is let them know and they have come right back to remedy the problem immediately. They have always been very reliable and accommodating. I've usually dealt with Ernesto over the phone, and he has always been extremely efficient, professional, and wonderful to deal with. The cleaning crews have always been composed of ladies who are polite, thorough, careful, and eager to please. They also get a great deal done is a short amount of time, which is important because one member of the family works from home. I had to call them back to tell them that they did not clean appropriately and all they did was give me excuses. They hire a cleaning crew that is totally unreliable.
