Butler Maintenance was recommended to me by a friend who used their services and were very happy with them. Ron met with me on short notice to take a look at what we needed done, and was able to work within our somewhat short timeframe. He vowed to "knock your socks off." While the team were very professional, worked hard, and my home looks nice, my socks were less than knocked off.
After several days of receiving no confirming e-mail about the services to be performed, I finally called the office and was told that my e-mail bounced back, so they weren't able to send me the contract. They had my phone number, but never bothered to call to ask what the correct e-mail address was so they could get the contract to me! I was told that the team would be here in the afternoon, and return the following morning to finish up. The day they were scheduled to be here, I received no calls confirming a time, and when I called at about 1:00 pm, was told they were finishing a job and would be at my home shortly. A crew of 2 people arrived at 2:30 pm and worked until 4:30 pm. Windows were washed inside and out, and one of our bathrooms was partially cleaned. When asked when they would arrive the following day, we were told that they could be here as early at 7:30 am, but that Ron would call me and let me know what time they'd be here.
Next morning, when no one arrived by 9:00 am, I began calling the Butler Maintenance office. I called 5 times and left a voice mail each time. At about 10:45 am I finally received a call back from Ron, who told me that he had me down for the afternoon that day, and his team would arrive by about 1-1:30 pm. Someone arrived at about 11:45 am and began the rest of the work. I had cleaned our bedrooms, as I was not convinced their work would be completed by the end of the day. The work they did was great, however there were things that happened (or didn't happen) during the course of the work that led to this less than stellar review. My oven was thoroughly cleaned - so thorough that the temperature settings on the dial were removed. Chips were made in my freshly painted kitchen cabinets. When the floors were cleaned, dirty water was splashed on my freshly painted walls. Razor blades were left in my front yard, which I thankfully discovered before my dog walked on them. Waste water was dumped on my newly-mulched yard, which required new mulch. My copper bar sink was left with cleaning chemicals on it, and it was not cleaned. My 83-year old dad used copper cleaned and a little elbow grease and made it sparkle. Because of the communication snafu, Ron generously threw in the cleaning of two upholstered chairs. I told him it wasn't necessary, as I had already cleaned them earlier in the week. They did it anyway, and a stain that had remained on one of the chairs when I cleaned it is still there - I can't really tell any difference.
So, all this to say that my experience with Butler Maintenance certainly did not knock my socks off, as I was promised. I sent an e-mail the evening the services were completed - 3 days ago. Not surprisingly, I received no response. But you can bet that my check was cashed the following day! I do not recommend Butler Maintenance. read more
