We have eaten there in the past with good results and figured we definitely needed a burger, onion rings and a hand made shake. Our trip down Route 66 was as pleasurable as always and when we arrived at Anchor 66 the parking lot was full. Luckily one table was leaving just as we walked in so we got an immediate seat but here were also stools available at the counter which would have been perfectly fine with us. My wife ordered the Grandma Retha burger and I ordered the Sooner burger. We shared an order of onion rings and we each ordered a milkshake. Everything was great. The burgers were hot and juicy the onion rings were cooked perfectly and were very tasty. The shakes were definitely the best we have had on some time. We will definitely be returning to Anchor 66 soon for a other dose of goodness. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for us. It was a pleasurable dinner tonight. We will be back!!

One thing I was sure about was that if this diner didn't have something special, it would have never survived as long as it has. The appetizers- (pictured) corn ribs & fried mushrooms were good and served to order. The hamburgers and fries were fresh, warm, and well-prepared. The price was a little more than expected but the hamburgers they delivered were more than what was expected as well and I would order the same again.

The restaurant is small--I'd guess it seats no more than 18-20 people--and it's packed with Pepsi memorabilia that gives it a fun, nostalgic feel. It feels like stepping back into a classic American burger joint. Even better, it's been serving Route 66 travelers since the 1950s. Happy Burger has become a true Mother Road institution. (TravelOK⁠) My wife and I both ordered the Jumbo Burger special. I swapped my fries for onion rings while she added cheese to her burger and kept the hand-cut fries. We ended up sharing both sides, and I'm glad we did. The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. I'm usually pretty critical of hand-cut fries because they often end up limp or undercooked, but these were excellent--crispy outside and soft inside. The onion rings were equally good. The menu isn't huge, but that's often a sign that a restaurant focuses on doing a few things really well, and Happy Burger proves that point. If you're driving Route 66 through Sapulpa, don't just stop for the Passport stamp. Come hungry, enjoy a classic burger, soak in the nostalgic atmosphere, and experience a piece of Oklahoma history. Those ratings were probably well deserved. I wanted to try the chicken fried steak, but was out of luck on that for lunch. I didn't know their lunch menu was limited to to four items of the day. The full menu is not served until after 4PM. Fortunately, one of the items on the menu was a hamburger. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich. Both were good and the fries were made from fresh cut potatoes. It is very unlikely that I will be traveling through Bristow, OK after 4PM. So I have to rate the place on the limited menu available for lunch. Call ahead to see what is for lunch before you stop. The staff is friendly and the place is clean.
