We have eaten there in the past with good results and figured we definitely needed a burger, onion rings and a hand made shake. Our trip down Route 66 was as pleasurable as always and when we arrived at Anchor 66 the parking lot was full. Luckily one table was leaving just as we walked in so we got an immediate seat but here were also stools available at the counter which would have been perfectly fine with us. My wife ordered the Grandma Retha burger and I ordered the Sooner burger. We shared an order of onion rings and we each ordered a milkshake. Everything was great. The burgers were hot and juicy the onion rings were cooked perfectly and were very tasty. The shakes were definitely the best we have had on some time. We will definitely be returning to Anchor 66 soon for a other dose of goodness. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for us. It was a pleasurable dinner tonight. We will be back!!

One thing I was sure about was that if this diner didn't have something special, it would have never survived as long as it has. My husband asked and we were instructed to order then find a table to sit. I love a good Chicken Fried Steak so I already knew what I was going to order. It came with mashed potatoes and of course, gravy, plus a roll. It would be nice if another veggie was offered to off-set a carb heavy meal. My husband ordered the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes, green beans and roll. He later noticed a very tiny sign next to the register advertising pot roast and was a little disappointed he didn't see that first. Pot roast is his favorite. For dessert, he thought he saw coconut creme pie in the cooler but it was lemon meringue which he is not a fan. He settled on the pecan pie cheesecake that we shared. It was a surprisingly great pie. All of our food was great and exceeded our expectations. We would like to come back again so he can try the pot roast and I will order the CFS again. This restaurant definitely has a small town feel where they know their regulars by name. I would recommend it to friends and family.

The restaurant is small--I'd guess it seats no more than 18-20 people--and it's packed with Pepsi memorabilia that gives it a fun, nostalgic feel. It feels like stepping back into a classic American burger joint. Even better, it's been serving Route 66 travelers since the 1950s. Happy Burger has become a true Mother Road institution. (TravelOK⁠) My wife and I both ordered the Jumbo Burger special. I swapped my fries for onion rings while she added cheese to her burger and kept the hand-cut fries. We ended up sharing both sides, and I'm glad we did. The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. I'm usually pretty critical of hand-cut fries because they often end up limp or undercooked, but these were excellent--crispy outside and soft inside. The onion rings were equally good. The menu isn't huge, but that's often a sign that a restaurant focuses on doing a few things really well, and Happy Burger proves that point. If you're driving Route 66 through Sapulpa, don't just stop for the Passport stamp. Come hungry, enjoy a classic burger, soak in the nostalgic atmosphere, and experience a piece of Oklahoma history. Disappointing Experience…read more Walked in and was asked if I wanted to dine in or carry out. I said dine in and was told to seat myself and someone would be with me "in just a minute." I sat down, and the girl who was supposed to take my order walked past me three times without even acknowledging me. Two other people came in and seated themselves after I did. After about 10 minutes, she came over and took their orders--even though they had been seated roughly 5 minutes after me. At that point, I got up and walked out. I understand being busy, but completely ignoring a customer who has been sitting there waiting is not good service. Unfortunately, I left without ever getting the chance to try the food. Hopefully the service improves, because I won't be back

The Rock Cafe is on Historical Route 66. Built in 1939 from stone that was excavated during the construction of Route 66. It is a charming small town cafe, rich in history. The owner Dawn Welch was the inspiration for the animated character Sally Carrera from the 2006 film Cars. The Cafe is rustic, casual, with a cool fun vibe. The staff is friendly and the service good. The dining area is not large. When we arrived there were a couple of booths and center tables available, but a few minutes later a group of 16 came in and filled the Cafe. We started with fried green tomatoes ($8,25). They were very good. The best I've had at a restrauant. All three of us ordered the chicken fried steak ($14.35), mashed potatoes, cream gravey, and fried Okra. It was very good. The chicken fried steak was just the right size and had substance compared to those that are big on batter and light on meat. The mashed potatoes and cream gravey just right. Loved the fried okra. The meal was scrumdiddlyumptious. The Cafe was not noisy even though they were maxed out busy. The prices are very moderate. It's a fun little Cafe with good food.
