    Double cheeseburger and fries
    Steve S.

This place has a pretty decent throwback vibe. The music was fun and the decor was cool even though some of it was worn out (pads in seats and tables etc...) I'm the type that orders burgers when I go to burger places and this double cheeseburger was pretty darn tasty. SUPER greasy but good flavor. The fries were just ok. For the price this place could be a little better. I wouldn't go out of my way for this place but if you've got kids and want a safe choice this isn't bad.

The KV burger: basic burger plus all the fixings *and* grilled mushrooms and onions. Side of fries okra. Tasty-plus!

Traveling west on I-44, we were overdue for lunch. We asked the lady at the tollbooth when we exited this stretch of I-44 (from the eastern state line w MO, to OK City, I-44 is toll road) if there were restaurants in town, and if so, for a recommendation... and this place was it. At the time, I'm not even sure if we knew where we were. Turns out, we were in Bristow, OK. Right along the old Route 66. And yes, there were restaurants in town, including one you need to try if you're in the area. At the Boomerang Diner we found fresh food; friendly, customer-service oriented servers; great prices and a fun, retro 1950's, Route 66- themed atmosphere. Because this is primarily a "burger" place, that's what we both ordered...but the patty had obviously been freshly hand-formed and my fries were sliced from real, fresh potatoes. My husband pushed the culinary envelope and ordered fried okra...he ate them all except the one I tried (it tasted pretty good) and then he finished off my fries as well. Suffice to say, if you're hungry when you walk out of the Boomerang Diner, it's your own fault.

Small town charm from a chain. Super fun decor. Amazing attention to detail for such a cheap meal. First spot in a long time to ask how I like my bacon prepared! So much more important than the eggs. As for prices.... $14 for two people to eat a big burger for lunch? Great prices unless you are comparing to the dollar menu at a fast food spot. Only down side was lack luster service. Very friendly but no urgency. Not many tables but people were literally raising their glasses for coffee. Wife asked for cream and I ended up having to find some for her.

Really cute place with oldies music, old pictures on the walls, checkerboard tile. Had eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancake. Everything tasted great. Service was good, too. My mom thought the coffee was great. Also, bacon was crispy, which seems rare!!

Food is always good if you're looking for some breakfast anytime of day. That just happens to be my favorite meal.

The mushroom gravy had good flavor and texture. The chicken salad had a good variety of greens, not just one type of lettuce. A good portion of shredded chicken on top. This was a very large salad. There was enough for two people to share. Portion could have been better. Service was great. Attentive without being pushy. A fun place to eat. Lots of memorabilia from the movie Cars, which took inspiration from this restaurant. Definitely big on Route 66, too, as evidenced by the adjacent gift shop.

The Chili Cheese Dog with fresh, raw onions (as foretold by the cheesy appetizer) was dense and flavorful, maybe the best no-frills chili dog in Oklahoma. My picky 13yo ate his first First Fried Apple pie with a slice of vanilla. His eyes got really big, and the plate was clean in an instant. The big treat, though, is the full-quarter slice of Poor Man"s "Pecan" Pie made with oats, not pecans. Served hot with a perfect slice of vanilla ice cream (yes, it's a tray-cut square) with a perfect crust -- This may be my favorite dessert ever, in the whole wide world. Of course the whole wide world needs more innovative classic food stops like this on Route 66. Also, ask to see their fire-surviving copy of Eternal Route 66 by Chuck Williams, an ironic souvenir from a prior iteration of The *eternal* Rock Cafe. If you're a fan of Sally the blue Porsche from the Disney Pixar movie Cars, ask to meet the owner, Dawn. She *might* tell you her story that inspired the sweetheart sports car, and John Lasseter, Pixar's chief creative officer is happy to confirm when visiting with memorabilia gifts that decorate the cafe. Brisket Pulled Pork Smoked Turkey Pork Ribs Hot Links and finally... Smoked Baloney. Potato Salad, White Mac and Cheese, Texas Toast, Pickle and Onion. Everything was smoked perfectly - even the baloney, which surprised both of us eating there - and absolutely tender. The meats aren't dripping in sauce which is often used to moisten a bad cook or to disguise poor flavors. Nope. If you want a saucy meal, it's a "self-inflicted wound" in my books, because you're missing out on some great well cooked meat. We didn't go there for side options, so reviewing them isn't the point. I did not see either a Corn Bread or a Biscuit choice which I would have chosen, but took the usual's just to see how they're done at Rustlers. I'm not a banana for dessert fan, that is, until my dinner guest forced me to have some of Rustlers Banana Pudding. I am now a rabid fan of banana's for dessert. Yes, it's that good. Don't keep whistling down the highway at 80+MPH trying to get somewhere faster than you should. Slow down, stop in, and get some well made BBQ. Sure, you're going to have the "meat sweats" once you've had your fill, but it's all well worth it in the end.

If you're hungry this is your place, promise it will not disappoint! The staff is beyond amazing, very welcoming and friendly. Provided good recommendations and always checked on us. The wife had the rib dinner, super delicious and flavorful. It comes with choice of sides, the potato salad was mustard based, not over powerful, just right. Okra crisp and hot. I had the 2 meat combo dinner; smoked slice chicken and brisket. The sliced chicken was moist, delicious and great tasting. The smoked sliced brisket, tender and my palate was jumping. Comes with choice of 2 sides which I had the country style green beans (loved them) and smoked BBQ beans which definitely kicked it all off. For dessert we had the blackberry cobbler with ice cream. Oh my, oh my!! I highly recommend stopping here if traveling through or even make a trip to come because it's well worth it. Service is excellent and the food is outstanding.
