    Dirty burger with onion rings
    Christy S.

It was very busy when we stopped in for lunch on Friday, so we chose to take our food to go. It would have been nice to sit down and enjoy our meal, but it was still really good. The dirty burger had the kick of jalapeño without being too spicy. The onion rings were pretty good, but slightly overcooked. The okra was great. This place is definitely worth a shot if you are in the Sapulpa area.

Huge amount of mushrooms and grilled onion, some raw onions that I requested. Burger is 1/3 lb. And very delicious!

When I pull into the parking lot, I almost didn't go in. They have a film on all the windows with their logo. But don't let the lights is stop you. The service is very good! The mushroom cheese burger amazing! I'll be going often.

The knight combo with chicken. And okra

First time in. My husband ordered the Knight combo with chicken instead of a burger. With okra. Tons of mushrooms falling off the sandwich! I ordered the burger combo with tots. Great food!! Excellent service!

Big hand formed patties. They are juicy and loaded. So big and juicy they disintegrate while you are eating them. Forks are available. Burger Dynasty is generous with their sides. A big pile of tots with my wife's cheeseburger and fresh fries with my specialty burger the "Executioner." The cheese burger was excellent. There was something funky about the "Executioner." An odd sour milk smell. It tasted fine. Maybe the Jester sauce had gone bad or it was the cheese they use. I still devoured it without any ill effects. But I wouldn't order it again. Other than that, this is a great burger joint.

I originally stopped because it was a Passport stamp location, but I left talking more about the food than the stamp. The restaurant is small--I'd guess it seats no more than 18-20 people--and it's packed with Pepsi memorabilia that gives it a fun, nostalgic feel. It feels like stepping back into a classic American burger joint. Even better, it's been serving Route 66 travelers since the 1950s. Happy Burger has become a true Mother Road institution. (TravelOK) My wife and I both ordered the Jumbo Burger special. I swapped my fries for onion rings while she added cheese to her burger and kept the hand-cut fries. We ended up sharing both sides, and I'm glad we did. The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. I'm usually pretty critical of hand-cut fries because they often end up limp or undercooked, but these were excellent--crispy outside and soft inside. The onion rings were equally good. The menu isn't huge, but that's often a sign that a restaurant focuses on doing a few things really well, and Happy Burger proves that point. If you're driving Route 66 through Sapulpa, don't just stop for the Passport stamp. Come hungry, enjoy a classic burger, soak in the nostalgic atmosphere, and experience a piece of Oklahoma history. This is exactly the kind of local spot that makes traveling the Mother Road so much fun.

Decided to ask the former fire chief for a recommendation and he said try Crossroads Cookery. Our friends wanted to go antiquing so this was right in the heart of Sapulpa's antique area, so perfect place for lunch. I really enjoyed all the care they took with making it feel nostalgic but classy at the same time. It's a lovely restaurant but they also have an ice cream parlor area, bar and coffee bar. Now the food was ok for some of us and one in our party got a way overcooked burger that was dry so it sucked for her. My Santa Fe bowl was so good and I recommend it. Hubby got the string onions for the table to share and they were delicious. Our server was really interesting and friendly as well as took care of us. We'll definitely go back during the Christmas Chute!

You know when you kind of love a place so much you almost don't want the whole world to find out…read moreabout it? That was this place for me. I had noticed it before when visiting the Christmas Chute, but the reviews were a little mixed so we never gave it a try. Fast forward to this weekend when we got invited to a birthday at the speakeasy upstairs... and I'm so glad we finally went. First of all -- they're doing a great job with the speakeasy concept because I genuinely had no idea it was there. It's upstairs above the restaurant and you need a code word to get in. Since we were already there, we decided to have dinner first and the menu honestly surprised me in the best way. It's very much Southern comfort food, but elevated a bit. The vibe inside is eclectic and interesting. The staff was super friendly, and even on a Saturday night it wasn't overly busy. The new streets in Sapulpa look great now that the construction is finished, but because most of the parking is behind the buildings the street can look like a ghost town even when places are actually busy. Kind of a weird illusion. They start you off with bread and a trio of fresh butters which was unexpected and delicious. The bread itself wasn't anything fancy, but the butter definitely was. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered from the kids menu (which I very much appreciated did not say "12 and under"). I got a grilled cheese and the waitress suggested adding a cup of tomato bisque. Yes please. Both were excellent. My husband ordered the grilled chicken and said it was moist and really good. They also have a full bar and a huge coffee bar, which I thought was a fun touch. Then we headed upstairs to the speakeasy and it's a whole different vibe up there. Very cool space. Also extremely eclectic. Think Tommy Bahama meets world traveler's curio cabinet. There were travel finds from around the world displayed in cases, parrot chandeliers, a baby grand piano, and a cheetah print pool table. It somehow all works. Live music was by Steve Lindell and he was fantastic. Two thumbs up. Bar service was great, just a little slow -- but to be fair I don't think they were expecting a 40-person birthday group to roll in all at once. All in all it was a fantastic night. If it wasn't about 45 minutes from my house, we would probably be regulars. But maybe it's okay if it stays just a little bit of a hidden gem.
