If you want some real good high quality ice cream this is the place to go. They allow you to sample the flavors before you choose one and their ice cream tastes really fresh. I forgot his name but the guy that was there was really helpful and very generous. I'm from out of town but if I lived here this would be my ice cream spot. You can also get a cookie as a bowl and it was delicious
Liked the location at boxyard better - parking was much easier and there was a lot of outdoor seating available. Haven't been in a while because my last visit I got the lavender honey (which is my favorite) in a waffle cone on a pretty cold day and the ice cream was melting faster than I could eat it. Most of it ended up on my hands and the floor...did not seem like the freezer was cold enough. I returned recently because I was in the area and my friend wanted ice cream. I tried the Rose Rock (strawberry with pecan and chocolate shavings) and the strawberry flavor was so subtle it seemed like I was eating Vanilla. No strawberry chunks. Waffle cones are fresh and delicious - I prefer getting a pint of lavender honey, sticking it in the freezer and enjoying it later so I can avoid the melting issue and sticky fingers. There are a total of 6 seats available and they are all bar seats. The guy was friendly though.
During the 2020 election they were giving away free ice cream sandwiches to everyone standing in line to vote at one ok field. I really appreciated it. Made the time standing in line go by more pleasantly. I hadn't gotten around to trying their ice cream again until now (2024). I got to try their honey ginger sorbet. So amazing! Texture was so smooth. Flavors were well balanced. I want more.
Loved this ice cream! I honestly didn't expect it to taste so good. It wasn't too sweet, perfect texture, and flavor. I got the lavender honey and it was perfect. The person working the counter was amazing, so nice and helpful. It was spacious enough to sit for a bit and had nice art. I had a great experience
Always a delightful experience. Love being able to sample, especially when there's new seasonal flavors. The champagne was delightful, and the pistachio was also very good! My ultimate favorite is the Nutella. We took home a pint. Service is reliable good, and the young lady working tonight was very sweet and helpful. Definitely worth it!
Date of visit: November 24, 2023 What a fun little place! It happened to be right next door to our hotel and it's ice cream, so never mind that it was barely above freezing, we HAD to stop in and check it out. Staff was pleasant and helpful, but I was very bummed that I couldn't get a shake at all--that's really where ice cream comes alive if you ask me! I went with the Banana Pudding flavor and again, not being able to do a milkshake is such a disservice to this amazing flavor!
Cute little ice cream shoppe downtown. Excellent prices and many flavors to choose from. My favorite was the salted caramel
There is street parking around the Philtower Building where Red Rose is located. I had being looking at their social media and saw a blood orange/hibiscus vegan ice cream which made me want to seek them on a hot Sunday afternoon. Sadly, it wasn't available. I decided to try the cherry lime and chocolate vegan ice cream and it was okay. You can't mix like a 1/2 and 1/2 scoop which is a bummer so you can't try more flavors without getting more scoops. It is a small location with just a few seats, I think it was meant to come and pick up and leave. It's not a place to meet up and hang out.
Wonderful service people. They were so nice and so quick to serve. The ice cream was super tasty too. Yum yum. Very clean inside too.
We were visiting from Kansas City to see the Outsiders Tour and stopped by Rose Rock because they had Vegan Ice cream. I can say this it was hands down THE BEST vegan ice cream that I have ever had. It was thick and creamy and packed a lot of flavor. I got their chocolate and vanilla and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend if you are in Downtown Tulsa to stop by....also the prices are very reasonable!
I am not the biggest fan of ice cream, however when I was in Italy my wife convinced me to have a go at Gelato and ever since I have been trying to find a good ice cream parlor in Oklahoma. And I think I finally found it, though it's not gelato but this place certainly has amazing ice cream flavors. Thai Tea and the Vietnamese coffee flavor was definitely my favorite and the 'it' flavor. Every bite had creaminess to it plus the flavors were to a T!
Sometimes you try something and think "Wow that's exceptional stuff!" And then you forget about it, until you have a not great version of the same thing, and then you're all like, "OMG, that other thing really was exceptional!" And you want everyone to know, especially the people who think the not great version is amazing. This review isn't even about Rose Rock at this point... Anyway, Rose Rock Microcreamery (Firefox is telling me that microcreamery is spelled incorrectly) has what I truly, honestly, and in all sincerity believe to be the best ice cream that you can find in the state of Oklahoma. Actually, it's probably some of the best ice cream I've had in the country; at least in the last few years. There has not been a single bad flavor I've tried so far, and the prices are very reasonable when considering the high quality in taste, texture, and general finished product that's served to you. The namesake ice cream flavor (Rose Rock) is especially exceptional. So is the Taro. So is.... You know what, get anything. You can't go wrong. Minor gripe: my first experience with Rose Rock was when it was located at the Boxyard. It has since moved to Downtown Tulsa. And tbh, I... prefer the Boxyard location. Mainly because parking was much easier... And there was significantly more space at the Boxyard to chill out and enjoy your ice cream. Now, there's less room inside the new location. But whatever, still amazing ice cream.
Rose Rock is a great small batch creamery nestled in downtown Tulsa! They have traditional and specialty flavors on their menu. I had lavender honey and it was flavorful and had the right amount of sweetness. I wish they had a little bit more fruit flavors. Overall a good spot for ice cream if you're in downtown Tulsa!

I was in town for work on a Sunday, in the daytime most establishments downtown were closed so thank goodness for Rose Rock! I walked in and was greeted with a smile, the young man working let me know I can sample any of the flavors and I must've tried 5 or 6 of them. He was patient and helpful suggesting some combos. I decided on Vietnamese Coffee and Midnight Chocolate, it was a perfect balance of flavors and both were so incredibly creamy and smooth! I enjoyed my ice cream at the counter seat facing outside the window, and noticed the store was very clean and tidy. I will absolutely be back next time I'm in Tulsa, thank you Rose Rock! read more

This is a smallish hole in the wall next to the Tulsa Club hotel. Our server patiently gave us tastes of almost every flavor before we could make up our minds. We decided to dive in with and ice cream flight, 6 different scoops - though we cheated and doubled up on the chocolate. Who remembers the other flavors, they were all good. We were downtown enjoying a self-guided architecture tour - this should be the refreshment break for every tour. read more

The Foundation: Where Craft Meets Precision The technical makeup of ice cream--namely aeration, butterfat, and flavor profile--forms the foundation of quality. Rose Rock does not disclose these specifics, but that doesn't prevent us from evaluating what excellence should taste like. A premium ice cream should offer a smooth, velvety texture that melts cleanly, rich but never greasy. Flavors should be clear and balanced, with purposeful mix-ins. Most importantly, consistency across scoops signals control, precision, and a mastery of the craft. Flavors Callebaut Chocolate The texture is silky smooth, with refined aeration and faint chocolate notes that linger gently across the palate. While Callebaut is a premium chocolate by name, the integration here feels restrained--leaning toward a muted milk chocolate profile that lacks the depth or boldness one might expect. It's technically polished, but flavor-wise, the scoop plays it too safe, leaving the luxury label underwhelming in execution. Madagascar Vanilla Technically pleasant with a smooth, creamy texture, this scoop delivers in structure but falls short in flavor. Madagascar vanilla is known for its warm, floral, and slightly spicy notes--typically offering a rich, aromatic depth with hints of bourbon and wood. Here, those signature characteristics are absent; the profile leans heavily into generic sweet cream, leaving the vanilla muted and indistinct. It's more of a base than a standalone statement. Rose Rock Rich strawberry melds seamlessly with the cream base, while bits of chocolate and pecan add layers of texture that make this scoop feel like a true tapestry of taste. The balance between fruit, nuttiness, and cream is thoughtfully composed, offering both familiarity and nuance. However, slight crystallization was detected in this flavor--distracting from the otherwise smooth experience and signaling a lapse in execution. Cookies and Cream Made with Oreo cookies, this scoop is a standout--delivering a beautiful texture and a rich chocolate profile that dances in perfect harmony with Rose Rock's cream base. The cookie crunch contrasts the velvety smoothness, and the flavor integration is spot-on, neither too sweet nor too subtle. Bold, balanced, and nostalgic without being cloying, it's a confident execution of a classic--one of the shop's strongest offerings. Vietnamese Coffee This flavor offers a beautiful blend--bold, sweet, and true to its name, with nutty undertones that echo the richness of traditional Vietnamese coffee. The balance between bitterness and condensed milk sweetness is well-executed, creating a deeply comforting scoop. However, slight crystallization was present here as well, detracting from the otherwise strong technical showing. Salted Caramel Rich and indulgent, this salted caramel scoop strikes a beautiful balance--the salt cuts through the sweetness with finesse, enhancing the buttery depth of the caramel. The flavor is bold without being overpowering, delivering a satisfying, well-rounded profile. However, subtle crystallization was again present, slightly disrupting the otherwise smooth and luxurious mouthfeel. Honey Lavender This was the absolute standout--borderline pièce de résistance--with flawless texture and a beautifully calibrated balance between floral lavender and rich, golden honey. The lavender blooms gently on the palate without overpowering, while the honey adds depth and warmth, anchoring the scoop in richness. It's elegant, evocative, and confidently executed--a flavor that lingers in memory long after the last bite. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped here one evening after dinner and this place was incredible! It is a bit of a hole in the wall. The employees were friendly and they let us sample multiple flavors before we decided. It was not crowded and we felt like we could take our time to decide. We each got a two scoop cups. My boyfriend got a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of chocolate. He said that both were really good, and he is a die-hard mint chocolate chip fan who very rarely ventures out of that flavor. I, on the other hand, tend to be very adventurous with my ice cream flavors. I got a scoop of lavender honey and a scoop of banana pudding. OH. MY. GOODNESS. Both were absolutely incredible-- perfect texture, perfect flavor, perfect portions. It's too bad that we aren't from Tulsa and were only visiting from out of town-- I would have become a regular here if I lived in the same city. This place rocks and I highly recommend both the adventurous and less adventurous ice cream seekers to come here. read more

I don't think I can come up with enough words of praise for how good the ice cream is it Rose Rock Creamery. Sure, you could get your basic Madagascar Vanilla or Chocolate, but why stop there.m? Go for something more inventive like Lavender Lemonade, or Lemon Mint Cookie or even Grapefruit Sherbet. Honestly, this is the best ice cream I've ever had and it's very reasonably priced. And if you can't remember how to get here, all you have to remember as it's right across the street from the Philcade building on E 5th St. The side benefit is that you can see some of the glorious Art Deco buildings downtown. read more

Looking back at my Yelp reviews, it has been over three years since I visited this ice cream shop. Thanks to a Yelp Elite perk, I stopped in for some free ice cream. I tried the Lavender Honey, the Honeyed Plum and the Amaretto Pistachio. The plum was my overall favorite. I did like the pistachio but it is very sweet. The lavender is still a fave because of the color. I took home a pint of Salted Caramel and Midnight Chocolate. The pints are handpacked and you can get two flavors in one pint. Delicious combo here (if I do say so myself). Check out their limited release flavors and get them before their gone! read more

I've never heard of a micro creamery. But I like it! It actually tastes better than store bought and offers a pretty large variety. Some of the flavours are seasonal, which only means something to look forward to. A pint is $7.00 but well worth it. Eight folks spent $28 on ice cream. Whaaaat? We shared a very rich Chocolate, Rose Rock, Madagascar Vanilla and Cookies & Cream. All were terrific and went well with a hot cuppa joe! My favorite was the vanilla. Money well spent. Not a dairy person? They also offer vegan options, such as Sorbet's like Blueberry Lemon-Thyme, and ice creams that are made using soy and coconut milk. The owner is extra special nice and friendly. Since they make ice cream two and 1/2 gallons at a time, they can be versatile. You can get cones or bowls, one scoop or two or more! This is my new handcraft ice cream king! A must do on any visit to Tulsa! 8/20 read more

I love Rose Rock! They are in of my top 3 for favorite ice cream shops in town! They are located in The Boxyard in Downtown Tulsa, and have a great view of the skyline. My favorite is the Lavender Honey, which is also vegan! Their new flavor, cashew honey, is also a must-try! I have never had a bad experience here, they are very clean and the employees are always kind and generous. I love the concept of an ice cream shop being in an old train boxcar, it adds a unique atmosphere and a quirky flair, how many ice cream shops can you say have been converted from a boxcar?! Great ice cream, great views, great employees, and a great time. Bring a couple friends (and wear a mask!) and check Rosè Rock out, you will not regret it! read more

Some of the best ice cream I've had in my life. It's not even worthy of being named ice cream (c'mon, that's so basic) because it's SO....MUCH....BETTER...let's call it Cream of the gods? Heavenly Sweet Treat? No, those suck, I'll continue orchestrating.... I won't hold this against them (and it definitely won't affect their rating with me), but upon walking in, my son and I weren't even acknowledged. I could've gone in to steal all of the deliciousness in that mug on that cold, rainy Friday night and the two [teenaged] girls would've never seen it coming...but then again...we are in Oklahoma....I'll let you think on that for a minute..... I digress;. My 3 year old tried the cookies and cream and I walked away with a small honey lavender, ooey gooey butter cake, and $7 of out pocket, but it was all so worth it. The ice cream had a buttery, smooth texture that instantly reeled me in, wanting more....like a fiend...still thinking about it 'til this day....even writing this review makes me want to take that 4 hour trip back to Tulsa. I could so go on and on but you're just going to have to try it for yourself. Rose Rock Microcreamery will be visited every road trip to the in-laws from here on out. God is so good.... read more
