Recently I found out about DBK and now I can satisfy that itch that only Japanese style desserts can scratch. Picked up a couple of slices of ube crepe cake and a six pack of the ube and strawberry bbangs. All of it was fantastically delicious! Their pancakes (or any cake menus, really) are incredibly soft, and the cream strikes the perfect balance --light and "not too sweet." The cakes are delicate, airy, and absolutely delightful. I love that they feature Asian-inspired flavors like ube and pandan, which add a unique touch to their menu. My favorites so far are the vanilla cake topped with fresh strawberries and the pandan cake --it's hard to choose between the two :) I'm already looking forward to my next visit to try their macarons next!

The swirls of buttercream was a mini mountain of goodness..Very sweet, creamy, homemade, not an exact cheesecake flavor but very tasty and complex to my sweet tooth. Cake itself was nothing special, kind of dry since it had been stored in refrigeration. Obviously the cake is only the supporting cast, while the frosting is the star. Now that may or may not be your thing. I surely couldn't eat much of this super sweetness. And while I usually prefer more of a balanced cupcake, I enjoyed mine. Very much so. I decided to try a couple of the keto variety, as I have someone close to me who needs to watch their blood sugar. If you have ever tried sugar free baked goods, you know they are usually just okay. I've yet to find anything that actually tastes "normal", but these were pretty good! I got salted caramel and lemon to try. I prefer the lemon, but both were good considering. They have that fake sugar hint to them, but they were still nice. I'd like to go back and try the regular cupcakes. They have a very large selection, and the store front is super cute. Service was fast and friendly, too. Again, these keto cupcakes were very good for being keto. They had a nice tender crumb and the frosting was nice as well.

I ordered a birthday cake for my mother for delivery. Delivery was supposed to occur at 2:00 p.m…read more on her birthday. I paid online, including the delivery charge. Instead of the cake, I got a call at 4:00 p.m. saying that the cake wasn't going to be delivered and that the store was closed. The employee offered delivery the next morning but that would have been after her birthday so I declined. No one at the store would deliver even though my mother's home was just a couple of miles away. (I couldn't get it because I live out of town and the cake was meant to be a surprise gift). The employee also said that no one could deliver a cake except the delivery driver (that seemed like a line of bull). She blamed the failure on the delivery driver which meant that the employees let the cake sit around for two hours knowing that it wasn't going to be delivered. The employee said that she would have her manager call me the next day but that never happened. The cancelled the order and gave me a refund as if that was providing good service. My impression was that the employees just didn't give a damn.
