I love to go here for lunch and get a sandwich made just how I want. For under $10 you get a huge sandwich on their fresh baked bread and a slice of cake. It's probably one of the best deals around. I love that you can get more than one protein I had turkey and bacon and then I had all the veg and two different kinds of cheese just for fun. Today they were out of croissants, which was unfortunate and my ciabatta the bottom bun had a little section that was a tiny bit undercooked, but otherwise I've always had great experiences and love all their sandwiches. They have a decent seating area so you can sit and eat there or take it to go. They're always friendly and it's always clean. read more

One of our guests at a recent dinner party brought two pies from Merrit's bakery, a cherry and an apple. They were delicious and a bit hit. I thought they were a cut above the average bakery pies. I usually prefer cherry because bakery pies are usually too sweet and sugar is the main flavor. This one was different. The filling had some delicious flavors in addition to apple which I couldn't identify but enjoyed. The crust was also better than your average bakery pie crust. Next time I want a pie and don't want to make it myself, I will go to Merrit's. read more

There's a reason that Merritt's has been Tulsa's go to bakery for a while. Quality and consistency. They have a variety of options but their cookies and cakes are hard to beat. Their chocolate ganache cake is a decadent choice for birthdays and special occasions. They can do custom lettering while you wait or call ahead. As long as they keep up the good work, I think they're gonna be a Tulsa institution for many years to come. read more

It was alright. It was fine, but it wasn't great. The white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie was the best tasting thing we got. Everything else was kinda stale... I can't speak for their whole cakes and/or pies, but I don't think I'll be coming back for anything else that is single serve in the display cases. We went to Merritts to pick up a cake for a birthday. They had a large selection of flavors and sizes pre-made and at a pretty affordable price. I got the lemon cake and everyone loved the flavor. The cake was too sweet for a few people, but then again it's cake. Love going to Merritt's for all dessert needs, not just cake. They have pretty much everything from pies, to muffins, to dog treats. Have been coming here for 20 years for cakes and desserts. Last 4 times we have used the Kenosha location they have had bad customer service and have messed up our orders. We have had to go to the midtown location to get the order we wanted with better customer service after our original has been messed up. We will start only ordering from midtown location. read more

Just really not a fan. I know this place gets rave reviews but every item I try something, it leaves me wondering why the reviews are so high. The bakery cases look great and they have a wonderful variety of baked goods, they just don't seem tasty to me. I have to say I'm most disappointed in the heavy dye colors on the icing. My son had blue and green on his arm that literally lasted all day. I tried to get it off in the bathroom with soap but no luck. Now, my sister gets her family event cakes at Merritts. She orders them for every birthday (and they have seven children so I taste it a lot) but I don't find it much better than any store-bought. Either you are or you aren't a fan, I'm just not. Just recently had an out of this world delicious caramel apple pie and a dozen thumb print cookies delivered to us via Grubhub by my husband's family in Pennsylvania that we couldn't be with for Thanksgiving due of Covid. Of all of the bakeries, they chose Merritt's. They chose well! The pie and cookies were absolutely perfect! Cookies soft and fresh. Pie was gooey and Thanksgiving in every bite. We've personally never been to the bakery as we're new to Oklahoma. However, I can happily say I've found the bakery we'll frequent based on the perfection we've had so far. read more

I stopped in here since I have some time before my hair appointment time. Such cute varieties of pastries like brownies, decorated cookies with colored frosting. I have to bring my daughter here one day! They even sell doggy cookie biscuits for a dollar, of course I had to buy 2 for my chi babies at home so they dont get jealous of my daughter's cookies. This one of their newer locations, and by newer I mean a few years. Buy a cookie or a donut or a cupcake - you know you want to!! Their decorating skills are top notch!! I have purchased many cakes and cupcakes - placing special orders and even grabbing a dozen cupcakes on a whim. They also can print on the edible sugar sheet, so any design is possible! I love their Cuban meat pies - similar to an empanada - flaky, buttery pie dough stuffed with ground beef, bits of onion and olives and spices. Seasonal fruit tartlets are amazing - fresh fruit with a vanilla pudding/tart filling and a buttery cookie tart shell. You really can't go wrong with anything you choose. During Chinese New Year, they made special cookies - a buttery cookie imprinted with a Chinese coin filled with red bean paste. I've never been a fan of red bean paste in any dessert but somehow, Merritt's created the perfect combination!! Okay to be honestly Merritts Bakery is my crack. I loveeeeeeeeee this place so much! Whether it's a pineapple upside down cake or a lemon bar or a cookie for my kiddo it's all absolutely delicious! The staff are always very inviting and sweet, great atmosphere! I would definitely recommend these almond croissant things they have with candied almonds on top but you go show up early or they will be gone! When I first moved to Tulsa I knew instantly about this place because everyone would always talk about getting baked sweets from here. For sure this is the primary place where my company gets all our baked goods and sweets for birthdays, holidays, etc. I did not get a chance to actually go to the store until a few months ago. I also did not know that this bakery was a local chain and there was a location very close to my house. When I walked in I was impressed by all the things you could get. This location I general had a place where you could also get lunch and eat it in their stores. They had sandwiches and soups and I could see this being a nice place to grab a quick lunch as well. The list of things I have tried from here gives me a good feeling that everything else is made with the same quality. The pricing as well is fair and where I get birthday treats for people outside of work a a well. The thumbprint cookies are my favorite and also any frosted sugar cookie. If you're wanting something different the lemon bar is something I always get. There is always something available to please anyone. And if they don't have it ready they are more than happy to make it for you as well. This bakery changed Tulsa for me! I am just waiting for them to start making macaroons and I will become a more frequent visitor! read more

Omg this bakery rocks! I had the privilege of working with Abigail. She was extremely patient and was able to accommodate my order at the last minute for a baby shower. I informed her that I would only be able to communicate electronically because I live quite a ways away. It was no problem for them. She sent me a sketch via email and I responded with my modifications and voila! When the cake arrived at the baby shower, everyone was so impressed. Then the true test... It was delicious. Strawberry cake with cream cheese filling and vanilla buttercream. So so so moist and delicious. Usually there cake leftover. Not this time. My first visit for a sausage roll and coffee. The man behind the counter didn't listen very well. He was not rushed, but gave me a sausage and cheese roll when I specifically requested plain sausage. I had to tell him three times that I wanted a 20 ounce coffee. He ran my debit card and scribbled on the space for my signature. He asked if I wanted mustard and when I said, "no, thank you," he put mustard in the sack with the sausage roll. Word of warning: don't order a custom cake from him--there is a really good chance he'll get it WRONG. I will go back, but will not order from him at the counter. read more

To die for pies and cookies! I had Merritt ' s make my wedding cake and it was AMAZING! They also make dog biscuits, I have tried them (lol) but my mom's dog goes nuts for them. This location has a deli too, but don't waste your time. Go right to the sweets! Also, they have a limited selection of donuts. But they will do a custom order if you give a few days notice. In my search for good special event cakes since my favorite bakery shut down this summer, I decided to try Merritts. I've had different pastries of theirs in the past and they were ok. However, their plain white cake is terrible. Both the icing and the cake is so sugar loaded it's horrible and the frosting has so much dark coloring, some of it is bitter tasting. We threw almost the entire cake away. What a waste of money. Of course our chickens loved it :-) I am so disappointed because I want a cake similar to what Ann's bakery use to make, but it definitely isn't this one. I thought I'd try a Merritt's cupcake for the first time. I was disappointed, at best. At every bakery I order the same flavors of cupcakes, white and red velvet. I figure if they've mastered a red velvet cupcake, all others should be just as wonderful. I first try the cake (by itself), then the icing (by itself), then the two together. I learned this technique from the staff at Magnolia Bakery out of New York City. Here are my reviews: Vanilla with vanilla buttercream: Cake - semi moist, but had zero flavor Icing - sugary, but once again, zero flavor Together.... decent. I'd give it a 3 out of 10 Suggestion... Mix in a good amount of vanilla emulsion into your batter. Please! Red velvet with cream cheese icing: Cake - moist, nice texture, extremely mild flavor... which is not my taste Icing - WHAT??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? NO CREAM CHEESE ICING??? REALLY....Who puts a basic vanilla decorators icing on a red velvet cupcake?? Together.... odd. I'd give it a 4 out of 10 just because they've messed with an American tradition Suggestion... cream cheese icing next time. read more
