We all scream for ice scream!! Stop in for a cool tasty scoop on a waffle cup or cone. We did see some other things on the menu like boozy drinks and specialty sundaes. Monday through Friday specials are offered. We will be back!!
Big Dipper Ice Cream - A Scoop Above the Rest! If you're an ice cream lover looking for a place that's as fun, flavorful, and fresh as it gets, look no further than Big Dipper. We stopped by recently and tried their 6-cone scoop flight for under $10, and honestly, it felt like discovering a hidden gem. Let's talk about the flight first--what a creative and delicious way to sample multiple flavors! It came beautifully presented with six mini cones, each one packed with personality and flavor. We chose: Salted Caramel Ganache - Rich, buttery, with a perfect balance of salty and sweet. Honeycomb Lavender - Delicate and floral, with just the right touch of sweetness. Totally unique! Purple Velvet - Smooth, creamy, and a colorful twist on a classic. Bean Me Up Scotty - A fun, coffee-infused flavor with a punch of espresso and a playful name to match. Banana Pudding - Tasted just like homemade banana pudding, with a creamy, nostalgic feel. Hemingway Ice Cream - Bright and citrusy with subtle complexity--refreshing and unexpected in the best way. Every single flavor was delicious. It's rare to love all six, but each one had its own personality and stood out in a different way. On top of that, the cones were made fresh, and you could really taste the difference. Crispy, warm, and with that perfect homemade texture--they were the ideal vehicle for each scoop. It's clear Big Dipper takes pride in quality and detail. The shop itself was clean, cozy, and inviting, and it's clear they care about maintaining a tidy and welcoming environment. Everything looked well-maintained and thoughtfully decorated. Our server, Sofia, was absolutely friendly, knowledgeable, and super attentive. She wore gloves the entire time, made sure everything was handled hygienically, and helped us navigate the flight flavors without rushing us. Her genuine enthusiasm for the ice cream made the whole experience even better. Final thoughts: Big Dipper isn't just an ice cream shop--it's a full-on treat-yourself experience. Between the creative flavors, the fresh cones, the excellent service, and the affordable price, we left happy and already planning our next visit. 5 stars for sure. If you haven't been to Big Dipper yet, do yourself a favor and stop in--you'll be hooked after the first scoop.
he Foundation: Where Craft Meets Precision Big Dipper's base, with its 16% butterfat and under 30% aeration, reflects deliberate craftsmanship. The result is exceptional: silky without being greasy, with a melt that balances softness and structure. Across 18 flavors, texture remained flawless--no crystals, no inconsistency--just smooth, bold uniformity. This isn't just a great product; it's technical precision. Sami Cooper has perfected the ratio, building a foundation that rivals the best in the country. The next test is ingredient integration--where flavor balance, mix-in ratios, and execution separate novelty from true creative control. Flavors Dark Chocolate Dark, decadent, devilish, and delicious--the chocolate ratio strikes a perfect balance between bittersweet and semi-sweet, allowing the depth of dark chocolate to reveal itself in layers with every bite. Rich, initial notes hit boldly, followed by lingering earthy and delicate fruity undertones that unfold slowly on the palate. The mouthfeel is exquisite: smooth, creamy, and indulgent without being heavy. This is chocolate ice cream at its most refined--complex yet controlled. A true pièce de résistance in the realm of chocolate ice cream. Madagascar Vanilla Bean The dark chocolate's counterpart in ice cream heaven, this Madagascar vanilla delivers yet again with a flawless mouthfeel--but what truly impresses is how the Madagascar vanilla's signature woody, floral, and gently spicy notes aren't an afterthought. They're fully realized, beautifully integrated, and elevated into a vanilla ice cream that stands not as a backdrop, but as the second pièce de résistance ice cream offering. Strawberry Intense strawberry flavor sings through a backdrop of sweet cream, serenading the senses with a sublime, almost meditative balance. The fusion of ripe berry and velvety cream is executed with such harmony, it feels effortless. But make no mistake--this is precision disguised as simplicity. Sami Cooper has crafted what may be one of the silkiest, most balanced strawberry ice creams in the country--lush, clean, and unforgettable. Weirdo - Cold Brew Coffee A sweet latte in a cup, this flavor opens and closes with clear notes of coffee, wrapped in toasty, earthy undertones reminiscent of caramelized sugar and roasted beans. Each spoonful offers warmth and comfort--but leans heavily into sweetness. While pleasant, it misses the opportunity to explore the deeper, more robust side of coffee. A touch more bitterness or roast could have added complexity and restraint. Ultimate Cookies and Cream This take on the 1980s classic is nothing short of a total success. The rich, creamy base is beautifully blended with classic chocolate cookie wafers, achieving that memorable flavor profile at a distinctly elevated level. It's everything a great cookies and cream should be--creamy, crunchy, deeply nostalgic, and refined enough to feel grown up. Cookie Butter Cookie Dough This take on a classic opens with buttery cookie notes, followed by warm hints of cinnamon and caramel, finishing with the familiar richness of chocolate chip cookie dough. The mix-in ratio is generous without overwhelming. However, the flavor lacks contrast, and there's little discernible difference between the buttery cookie base and the cookie dough itself. The elements blend into a single sweet note. Honeycomb Lavender A staple on the Big Dipper menu, this sweet cream base is studded with delicate honeycomb and layered with flavor. It opens with golden honey, glides into rich cream at the center, and finishes with soft, floral notes of lavender that bloom on the palate. It's balanced, elegant, and deeply evocative--like summer captured in a scoop. This ice cream doesn't just taste good; it hums. Bees might weep. A third pièce de résistance in a lineup that's proving Big Dipper knows exactly what it's doing.
Yum! What can I say!! We took our grandkids here and they couldn't decide what they wanted. The staff was so kind to them and gave them little tastes of each flavor. The shop is so cute. You can eat inside or outside and enjoy your ice cream.
Very hip ice cream shop in brookside! I got 1 scoop red Velvet in a cup. It had amall chunks of red velvet cake but I was disappointed because it had no red velvet taste. It was like I was eating flavorless cream. But I gave 5 stars because the ice cream my Boyfriend was so flavorful. He got honeycomb lavender which was so good! Ooey gooey butter cake that was also so yummy especially the chunks of cake in it and pony boy. Even though my red velvet didn't have any flavor, if still go back for the other flavors!
Okay...This is the most unfair review I've written. The classic (one of the specialties) ingredients: 1. Madagascar Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - like 2. Caramel fudge - like like 3. Candied pecans - like like like I challenge you to find something you don't like at Big Dipper Creamery. It's certainly not the ice cream, maybe the service or ambiance. Unfair 5 stars for not even giving me a chance.
The ice cream here is incredible! I usually only have this kind of treat while traveling, so I'm glad to have such quality at home!
Man, oh, man! The vegan ice cream is phenomenal. When it comes to desserts, I don't want to feel "weighed down," so I tend to stick to vegan desserts. Their selection of vegan ice creams is top notch. They do have regular ice cream, which my partner tells me is really good. I'm obsessed with their vegan cookies 'n cream. It never disappoints!! Their cones are also yummy.
Ice cream was delicious. Cones were delicious monster ice cream sandwiches huge service was good. Delicious
My fav ice cream place! I usually buy a pint back when I am there. I love all the berry flavored ice cream they have and really enjoy the bubble cone. They were pretty busy on a Wednesday evening so I can kind of understand why they only sell the bubble cone on Tuesdays in summer.
This is their third location and I'm so glad it's close to me. The building is super cute and welcoming, with lots of seating available inside and outside. There are lots of flavors to choose from but I'm faithful to their dark chocolate. You can choose single, double scoops, sundaes, shakes or even make your own ice cream sandwich. Their waffle cones are delicious. You can choose to add toppings for a bit extra. Their specialty sundaes are delicious. Try the Bees Knees with honeycomb lavender ice cream, lemon curd and candied pecans or the Peanuts about you with dark chocolate ice cream, Reese's peanut butter sauce and Reese's pieces. When the weather is nice, their patio seating is great. Friendly and fast service too! Always a great spot to stop by for a treat.
There is a small lot to the side of the building and limited street parking in front. It's got a retro chill vibe when you walk in. There are lots of icee cream options to choose from and about 6 vegan ice cream options. You can also purchase a boozey milkshake, don't mind if I do. I appreciate the variety and the service is friendly. I created my own boozey ice cream beverage and the mixer suggested another liqueur that made it even better. You will enjoy your refreshing and cool experience here.

Big Dipper Creamery in Tulsa is located in a really cute area called Brookside, close to downtown. Parking seemed pretty reasonable when I went, especially if you avoid the busiest times, and there was parking available along the side of the building. Inside, the shop has a lot of cute seating areas, both indoors and outdoors. They also offer a fun variety of flavors. I ordered a small cup of the honeycomb lavender ice cream, which came with a free waffle chip. They also have cones, flavored cones, and other options if you want something a little more elaborate. The ice cream itself was very creamy and delicious. I would have loved to have some actual chunks of honeycomb mixed in, but the honeycomb flavor still came through nicely, and there was a swirl in the ice cream that added to it. Overall, it was a really delicious scoop and felt well worth it. I visited on a Thursday afternoon around 3:00 p.m., and it was already fairly busy with families, moms, and young kids. I imagine it gets even busier in the evenings, especially during the summer after dinner. Overall, it is a neighborhood-friendly spot with great ice cream and a fun neighborhood feel. read more
This place was so cute inside and out! My mom and I each got a mini flight which came with 3 small scoops of ice cream and a waffle slice. The ice cream was delicious and of course I got sprinkles. The mini flight is a great way to get a few different flavors if you can't decide and it's not an overwhelming amount. I highly recommend if you're visiting the Tulsa area! The staff were very helpful for our first time. read more

This is my favorite ice cream in Tulsa. Two locations; brookside and mother road market. Can't speak for ambiance of the store as I've not been but every flavor is on pint with the base and added chunks etc. This is a local must try! All workers have been great as well. read more

As of the time of this review, I've only bought one type of ice cream, roasted strawberry, but I will most certainly return to buy others! As they allow free samples, I tried several others that were delicious. There are also dairy free and vegan options. Ambience is great, as there are large tables to accommodate groups, and although there is overhead music, it is playing softly. They have a couple of "community" boardgames that could be a good icebreaker for a date. Cashier was nice and very patient as I tried different flavors. Adequate parking is located on the side of the building. read more
Around our house, when anyone mentions ice cream, it's an instant "yes." So on National Ice Cream Day, it was an instant "how fast can we jump in the car?!" We decided the next stop in exploring our new city was at Big Dipper for some celebratory scoops. This dream, turned event cart, turned THREE location reality was a sweet spot for our malty maiden voyage. All of their ice cream is made from scratch, in small batches, so the flavors in the case change on a pretty consistent basis. I especially loved how many of their flavors use local ingredients and local inspiration. We definitely had to try The Mother Road, named to celebrate Mother Road Market being voted #1 Food Hall in the NATION by USA Today, and the Ultimate Cookies & Cream, which is not just a clever name. They even have daily specials, including Flight Night on Wednesdays! Save this place for the next time you need a sweet treat. And chances are, I'll probably see you there. read more

I scream for ice cream! Well really I don't, but on the occasions that I do feel like ice cream this is where I choose. There is ice cream for the whole family but my favorites are the boozy shakes.
