Awesome sauces!

Went to our new favorite BBQ place again today and the BBQ was better than ever! I had the sliced brisket, Mac and Cheese and fries. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans. Both were delicious! Be sure and up size your drinks and help out Tunnel to Towers Foundation! The staff were great checking on us and telling us about the pictures and patches all around the walls! As a Veteran I really appreciate their support!

This location is in a bigger shared plaza with plenty of parking. You walk in and go to the counter to order and then you go back to the counter to pick up your food. There is plenty of seating with a big open feel. The service was friendly and provided a couple of samples when I was trying to decide between sides. We didn't have a long wait to get our food after we ordered. My husband felt that the collard greens were a little salty. He really liked the turkey and felt it was moist. He preferred the potato salad to the coleslaw. I really enjoyed the ribs and green beans. There are a variety of bbq sauces at each table. I loved the honey heat. Enjoy!

We were in Tulsa for The Affair Of Hearts and found this. I have eaten at a Mission before in different states. Was hoping this one was just as good since I was taking my daughter's. You order at front so takes a bit if your new. Ordered brisket with cheesy potatoes and beans. All really good. Even the cornbread is so good! Sampled daughter greenbeans and they are not plane Jane. We all shared the Apple cobbler dessert but small so didn't last long. Lol then went and ordered 3 more to take home. We were all so impressed! Daughter loved it, so was searching other locations. We are happy to find out one is coming to OKC area. Can't wait!

Overall Impression: Gimmicky but the BBQ is good. Mission BBQ has only one mission - to honor and give back to police, fire, first responders, and military. The restaurant is full of heroic and patriotic tributes of US uniformed heroes. Look past these tributes, someone like myself, may find this gimmicky. Other restaurants have done something similar, where they would give 10-15% of earning to their cause. Mission BBQ gives our uniformed heroes very little back, "gift" once a month, and no discounts on food whatsoever. When 99% of the their customers are non-military, police, fire, or first responders, one has to question what are they really giving back, a smidgen not worth mentioning. The ribs and baked beans were excellent though. The ribs had that smoky taste and served in a half to full slab. I would like for them to cut each slab into individual ribs so it would be easier to consume. The baked beans also had a nice smoky taste. Mission BBQ had the most diverse option of BBQ sauces available, 6 to choose from. Only the smoky mountain and Memphis Belle were of my liking. Impressed by the food but disappointed by what they are giving back to our heroes, probably very little. If you are able to look past this facade, Mission BBQ is excellent.

We received fast and friendly service on an impromptu Monday evening stop in. We both ordered chopped brisket sandwiches with a side and a drink- one was green beans (really good), and one was Mac and cheese (pretty good). The sandwhiches were a good size and flavorful. I added a sweet and spicy sauce for more kick, but it didn't "need" it for flavor. I think if the bun had been buttered and toasted on a flat top it would have pushed it over the edge and earned a 5 star review. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. We paid $40 for the two meals.

It's not just a lunch but an experience. If you happen to be a hero or just appreciate hero's, you're going to like this place. My husband, who is an inactive Marine, just loves it. The theme is heroes such as military, police, and fireman and it's decorated accordingly. All the staff are ultra friendly and enthusiastic. At 12 noon each day, everyone stands and sings the National Anthem. The kitchen staff even comes out for that. The service was incredible. Our brisket sandwiches were delicious. I liked the sides best. Next time, I'm going to have a lunch with just a variety of sides. The Apple Carmel cobbler was amazing.

Sauces on the table - in my opinion this was the better side of the selections.

I can't believe this building used to house Zio's. They did an amazing job remodeling it! My husband had tried this place on his own, when I was out of town, and loved it. He was given a coupon for a free sandwich so we went back to redeem it today. I'm a vegetarian so we were thinking I wouldn't have many choices, but there are several sides and two sizes of salads to choose from so I was totally ok. I ordered an entree size salad and a side of mac and cheese. The cashier misheard me and rung us up for a small side salad (which was not super small, fyi). This was remedied after our food arrived and I realized the size mistake. The staff was very kind and gave me an entree size salad, on top of my smaller salad, to take home. The salad was fresh and the ranch was delicious. The mac and cheese was super creamy! My husband was happy with his brisket sandwich and cheesy scalloped potatoes (he let me try some of the potatoes and they were amazing). We chatted a little bit with one of the workers in the dining room who is originally from Las Vegas - she was super friendly. We had asked about the Black Plate Special and she explained some of the things on the menu, told us about a ceremony they do every day at noon with the pledge of allegiance, and gave us another coupon for a free sandwich. The dining room was kept very clean even though it was decently busy. We will definitely be back and will bring family members for their birthdays.

We started with the bacon jam, which was everything you'd expect, but was a tad bit too sweet to eat a lot of. We then moved on to the Idaho trout and grilled chicken. The trout was perfectly cooked, the sauce and vegetables were the perfect pairing for a light dish. The grilled chicken had a nice assortment of gnocchi and a delicious onion cream sauce. For sides we had the Brussels sprout appetizer with bacon, apples, honey, and goat cheese...WOW! We also had the potato pave. The potatoes were yummy once we added salt and pepper. Without it, they were extremely bland, but once seasoned, I devoured all of them. Finish them with flaky salt before serving, it makes a huge difference. For dessert we had the orange marmalade bread pudding. It was ok, but I wish we chose something else. The flavors just didn't mesh. We will happily go back and will 100% recommend this restaurant to our friends.

The beef rib was melt in the mouth, succulent and perfectly seasoned. My bbq soul is complete. Their bbq sauce they have is fantastic and their other sauces are killer too! The service was fantastic. They were extremely nice and helpful. It's a food truck so I'm sure they move around but this time they were located behind American Solera. I can confidently say they are the bbq masters of Tulsa. I can't believe Tulsa would have such amazing BBQ but these folks do it right. Overall, it's the best BBQ I've ever put in my mouth! They know exactly what they are doing with their meats. This place is the best bbq in Oklahoma, and I know that's a bold statement for something out of a trailer, and yet it's true. These guys just took over ownership a couple weeks ago so I expect it to get even better with time. TULSA IS WINNING. I absolutely stalk good bbq places and so I usually don't put too much stock in them meeting me expectations. But when you see Nick pull that brisket out of that brown waxed paper and watch the jiggle as he slices through that amazing bark, you'll realize you've hit the jackpot. We grabbed the food for 2 and it was an incredible sampler of all of their meats. And the sides... GET THE BACON CHEESE GRITS. Holy moly rolly poly that little styrofoam cup should come with a warning label because it's absolutely ridiculous. The chicken was so juicy, I was almost more impressed by it honestly. But brisket of this tier is just such a rare find... the other two with me easily admitted it was the best they've had in their entire life. Ribs too. We also didn't expect to be able to find an open patio on a Saturday, but the outdoor space provided created such a laid back experience with the outdoor tables I felt like I could kick back, eat some Q and let all the stresses of the world melt away. Go. Just go. Go now. The lines on this place are going to be a mess soon, I'm sure. The decor is all about BBQ and blues. This is definitely no corporate contrived eatery. There is a genuine feel of the bluesy barbecue world. We ordered the Nelson's plate for 2. We substituted the bologna and hot link for chicken and pulled pork. The barbecue is the real thing. The beans have a Smokey sweet flavor that is perhaps the best bbq beans in Oklahoma if not the country. The pulled pork was also tender and sweet, expertly cooked. The brisket was tender and easy to chew. The ribs were perhaps the second weakest part of the meal. That said I have eaten worse in most places in Tulsa. They were tender but in my opinion could have been better. The chicken was the weakest part of the meal. It was a bit dry but tolerable. The potato salad was creamy soft with just a slight hint of vinegar you expect to taste in potato salad in a perfect balance of flavors and textures. We ordered the Mac and cheese was very cheesy and included a cheese pull with a slight funk in the aftertaste that makes it very different dish from the standard offering at other places. While I'm not a sauce user I tasted the sweet and the hot sauces. The sweet was very sweet and the hot definitely hit with a sting I normally avoid but I'm sure would be welcome to the well initiated.
