Best barbecue you can get with a chain style restaurant. They have done their research and make the meats like the originals. My faves are the brisket and pork. You have to try the bay bbq sauce. Don't forget the folks that work there, always helpful and knowledgeable. I do my best to get to a mission when I get a chance! They do the national anthem at noon too! Disappointed After a Great First Impression We were really excited to visit Mission BBQ after trying them at the Bixby Blues BBQ event last month, where they served a free meal for veterans through Soldiers Wish. That food was genuinely great--surprisingly good, in fact--so we looked forward to checking out the full experience. Unfortunately, our visit yesterday left us extremely disappointed. We spent over $50 for just the two of us, and there was no military discount, which was a letdown on its own. But the bigger issue was the food and service. The ribs were dry and completely flavorless--I literally said "yuck" after trying a bite of my husband's. I had the sausage, which was served piping hot (I didn't want hot links), and the "chopped brisket" turned out to be sliced brisket that they just cut up. It was a tiny portion, mostly fat with very little actual meat. The pulled pork was okay but nothing special. Even the cornbread, which was incredibly moist at the Bixby event, was dry and forgettable this time. To top it off, when we walked in, no one greeted us--at all. Not a hello, not a smile, just silence. And the ordering experience was awkward and uncomfortable as we stared at the menu board trying to figure things out. Plus, having to pay for sides separately feels pretty tacky at this price point. Honestly, it felt like cafeteria BBQ, and that's being generous. At least at Rib Crib you know what to expect. We could have gone to Burn Co. or Clark's BBQ--both of which do military discounts--and spent the same amount for twice the food and better quality. We respect Mission BBQ's mission of supporting veterans and first responders--that's one thing they're doing right. But this visit felt like a total waste of $50+. And as for signing up for the Vet Rewards program? The email gave me one week to redeem a free sandwich. One week? That's not a reward--that's just pressure to come back, and honestly, I won't. read more

Very good BBQ with nice portions. I had pulled chicken, my hubby had the chopped brisket. I had a side of Mac & cheese which was good but nothing really special. The meal came with a small piece of red velvet cake which was very good. The woman who took our order at the counter was very nice, we were checked on a couple times while we were eating. I'm not gonna lie. I was very disappointed with the beef brisket from another new BBQ place. Fellas, this is not complicated: 230 degrees for 11 hours to an internal temp of 190. And keep the smoke pouring to it all the way. That is the smokey nirvana, and most folks have no idea how really good that is. However this was a while back and maybe it's better now. I doubt it. I spent $30 on a meal that included half-cooked chicken, and then they tried to tell me it was supposed to look that way. For context, I smoke my own meat and have been doing so for a few years now. According to FDA safety guidelines, chicken should be cooked to an internal temperature of at least 165°F for it to be safe for consumption. This means the entire chicken must reach that temperature, not just one spot. My friend, who is a vet, and I decided to grab some food after hitting the gym today. We had talked about trying this BBQ place since we both enjoy barbecue and appreciate that they support veterans. When we walked in, it took us a while to figure out what we wanted. When we went to pay, we found out it seemed pretty expensive for what appeared to be barely any food. After we were served, I checked my chicken like I always do, only to discover it wasn't fully cooked. I figured I would give them the benefit of the doubt, as it can happen sometimes, so I approached the person at the front serving customers and, I assume, is their cook. After explaining the situation, instead of him owning up to their mistake, he claimed that "it was safe to eat, and it is only pink because of the smoke, then asked if I wanted to eat it". I went on to explain that I smoke meat regularly, including chicken, and that it shouldn't look like that, and that I wasn't going to eat uncooked chicken, which led him to give me an attitude and eventually switch it out for something else. I contemplated on the way home about posting a review because it's not typically my style. Still, after considering the potential danger this could pose to someone who doesn't know better--especially a small child--I felt I had to say something to help prevent others from getting sick. read more

We tried the location in Tulsa, Ok for the first time today, 4-7-25; we won't be going back! Our food had an after taste that neither of us has ever had before, (and is still with us 5 hours later). She had a burger with Cheesy potatoes, and I had the brisket sandwich with BBQ beans. In our opinion this place isn't worth the money. We both usually enjoy good BBQ, this wasn't good at all. If this was an example of their food, I doubt they will be in business in this location very long. There are too many good BBQ locations in the Tulsa area to waste time with this one. Food is excellent! We have tried most everything on the menu and all the meats are always moist, tender and delicious! The sides I like the best is the cheesy taters and the Mac &cheese. From the begining everything was fantastic. They girl at the register was very sweet. She helped guide me through the menu. While they were masking my order another young lady engaged me in conversation. She suggested some BBQ sauces and a sauce for the turkey. They were all delicious. Meat was too salty! I had the brisket sandwich, which was lukewarm when I got it. I went to the establishment at a time when it was not busy so I expected the meat to be hot, not warm. This was my first visit to this restaurant. I've been favoring another barbecue restaurant down the street which is hands-down 100% better than this. I tasted the meat before putting any sauce on it. While it was very tender, it was also very salty. I had coleslaw with my sandwich. It was crunchy & very tasty. Overall, I enjoyed the coleslaw better than the sandwich. I really wanted to like this place. So military and first responder honoring. But the food was way too salty and dry. We ordered the ribs, pulled pork and brisket. All way too salty and dry. Adding the unimaginative sauces didn't help much. The corn bread was dry. The coleslaw was good and the cheesy potatoes pretty good. I will never go eat at Mission BBQ ever ever again! First when I got in there me and my daughter ordered a roast beef sandwich.?on the menu they were $13.99 each for a brisket sandwich. Then we were asked which side we want and I said string beans and my daughter said macaroni and cheese. I got a bottled water and she got a fountain drink. The total cost was $41! So, I thought that was $11 too steep for what we got considering what the menu said, and the sides always came with the orders at other places I've went to throughout my life. So, I didn't say anything, and we sat down and started eating and my first bite was nothing but fat! And so I took my fork and started trying to pull the roast apart, and it was fat after fat after fat. I did not get more than 1 teaspoon of a bite of that sandwich without a wod of fat in my mouth. It was disgusting. the barbecue sauces were disgusting. Every single one of them. My daughter's side of macaroni and cheese was disgusting and dry. My string bean side was mostly water, and maybe a teaspoon of string beans if that. And also, the sides were the smallest little tiny side I have ever seen. I've had sides before in a small Styrofoam bowl before, but it was so tiny it could fit in a Barbie dollhouse. And so I guess that extra $11 was for my two crappy sides that could fit in a Barbie dollhouse. And so I guess that extra $11 was for my two sides, one water, and one regular size soda. And there were no refills. Just one water, and one regular size soda. I will never ever go back to this place. It was so disgusting. I talked to the manager after I got home and she didn't offer to give me my money back but said she would discount my next order and that was just for me not discount for two people. A discount for just one person. Even though both of our sandwiches were full of fat and the buns we didn't even eat, they were cold. I came home and I had to make dinner because. This new restaurant opened 2 days ago. We went tonight around 5:45 and it was busy but we got in. You order at the counter and pick up your food when they call your name. They do have staff walk the dining room to help if you need anything. We thought the food was very good. Service: First time here. The guy who took my order literally camera around the counter and got in my bubble asked if he would help me. Talking touching shoulders. I asked for sliced brisket several times, and he repeated back my order as a brisket sandwich, again I had to correct him. Food came out and it was a brisket sandwich. Told one of the people that worked there and they did ask if I wanted to change it. I told them no thanks. The food here is what I would consider average barbecue. However, I must say that the cheeseburger my husband had was very good. The brisket was OK and you can't go wrong with any sausage. I think the restaurant is a little high price, but I don't mind paying high prices if the food is top-notch. One of the issues I had with prices was the price of the beverages. They had what they called a military cup, which was $4.99. You could get refills for $.99. The other drinks were an average of three dollars. Although the beverages were dispensed by a fountain machine, you could only get refills if you pay the additional $.99 per cup if you bought the $4.99 military cup. I have never been to a barbecue place that serve fountain beverages with no free refills. I must say I left very thirsty because I could not refill my cup and was unwilling to pay the high cost of a refill and cup. The service was OK I would not say top-notch, but everyone was very polite. Although the food was decent, I would not recommend it.
