My favorite BBQ in Tulsa! I called my order in, and it was ready when I got there in 20 minutes. I got the food for two to-go, which can honestly feed more than two people. It comes with ribs, brisket, sausage, chicken, and baloney. They also give you some pickles, pickled onions, and diced jalapeños, as well as some tortillas, so you can make your own tacos. It also comes with two sides of your choice. I chose esquites (corn) and green chile mac, which were some of the best barbecue sides I've ever had! And there's an area where you can get barbecue sauce as well as plates and utensils.

Alley Cat Ranch: Barbeque - Tulsa, OK Note about the ratings: Scores are out of 60 with a standard deviations of +/- 10 points. 56-60: pièce de résistance 50-55: Excellent 40-50: Above Average 20-40: Average 11-20: Below Average. 0-10: Bad Final Score: 51/60 Alley Cat Ranch Approximately one year ago, I embarked on a culinary journey into the world of food, using my senses as a guide to better understand myself and others. What began as a singular focus on fine dining evolved into a broader exploration. Through my experiences, I've had the pleasure of dining at remarkable places like The Meat and Cheese Show, Cherry Street Kitchen, Ma Der Lao, The Eatery, and many other wondrous establishments. Now, my journey takes a new turn as I delve into the world of food trucks and barbecue. Oklahomans have a deep affinity for barbecue. It's more than just food; it's an institution. Much like a steakhouse, an Oklahoman's favorite barbecue joint is their personal church, their own mecca. I confess my own bias; for the past 20 years, I swore by Dinks (Barbecue in Bartlesville)--the whole Dinks, and nothing but the Dinks, so help me, God. To break that pattern, I asked, "Who has the best barbecue in Tulsa?" The responses were numerous, but amidst them, one person, Nick Corcoran, had the courage to say, "Come to me for barbecue." Alley Cat Ranch is a food truck located behind Marshall's Brewing Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. With car windows newly tinted, and my taste buds salivating, let's eat! Walking up to Alley Cat Ranch, you're greeted by the euphoric aroma of smoke and meat--an intoxicating scent that promises culinary delights. However, as with the smell of movie popcorn, there's a risk that the end flavor might not match the anticipation. For this meal, I ordered nearly everything on the menu--pulled pork, smoked brisket, smoked sausage, chicken, pork ribs, pinto beans, grits, smoked corn, barbecue tacos--let's dig in! Biting into the pork rib, your taste buds are treated to a beautiful salty-sweet flavor profile, transitioning to delicious pork and concluding with a symphony of smoke and meat fused together--a perfectly balanced combination. Nick has masterfully crafted flavors where the meat isn't overshadowed by smoke and rub; each bite is a harmonious melody of flavor. Moving to the sides, the pinto beans boast a wonderful, sweet barbecue sauce flavor, subtle and respectful to the beans' natural taste. The grits are cooked to perfection, with a mild corn flavor, but the smoked corn steals the show. Bursting with sweet smoky notes, each bite elicits moans of pleasure--an unctuous delight rarely found in barbecue. And then there's the sauce. Unlike my usual bias towards sweeter sauces, I find Alley Cat Ranch's sauce to be a revelation--sweet, tangy, and perfectly balanced, complementing the exquisite meats prepared by Nick. I must confess my newness and ignorance when it comes to barbecue, but Nick has provided me with my first true lesson--and I relish being a student in this new culinary adventure. Considering barbecue, I'd rate Rib Crib as the baseline at 30/60 and Dinks at 42/60. However, what I sampled today was beyond comparison--it was something truly remarkable. Nick Corcoran and Alley Cat Ranch have set a new standard for me in barbecue. I wholeheartedly recommend giving Alley Cat Ranch a try, and while you're there, enjoy a beer at Marshall's! Final Score: 51/60

    Food trailer with an awning
    Johnny M.

Just opened in the last week. This is going to be a welcome addition to the East village. It's a food trailer with a big awning out front. There are parked next to what looks like a old Sinclair gas station. I did not ask if that is their future space. Parking on both the east and west side of the building. The unique thing about the trailer is they are cooking on Tulsa's own Hasty Bake charcoal grills. It was raining when I went so not a huge crowd. Tables under the awning were comfortable. The lady taking my order was very helpful. I should have gotten her name. Service was very prompt. I got the one meat and one side for $12 Burnt ends with esquites (Elote) My burnt ends had a very sweet rub. Kind of a small serving maybe 6 ounces or less. I should have asked. Too sweet for me. But very good if sweet Cue is your thing. I am a savory guy not to fond of sweet flavors except desserts. As I was leaving talked with another dude on if he had been there before. He said yes and I asked what he liked. His first answer was bologna. Get the bologna. I love smoked bologna. He also suggested the ribs. I asked if they had sweet rub too. He didn't think so. Esquites we're excellent! This place has huge potential. I will definitely return.

Albert G's Bar-B-Q (Tulsa Hills) Disappointing Delivery Experience…read moreI ordered dinner for delivery from Albert G's Bar-B-Q at the Tulsa Hills location, and unfortunately the food did not meet expectations. The ribs lacked seasoning and didn't taste smoked. The Polish sausage had very little flavor. The chopped brisket was dry and under-seasoned. The baked beans were not cooked properly and were unpleasant to eat. The mac and cheese tasted like it was made with Velveeta and lacked flavor. The only items that were enjoyable were the barbecue sauce and the bread. My ratings: * Ribs: 4/10 * Polish sausage: 2/10 * Chopped brisket: 4.5/10 * Baked beans: 1/10 * Macaroni & cheese: 3/10 * Barbecue sauce: 5/10 I'm sharing this feedback in hopes that the kitchen can make some improvements better seasoning, proper smoking, and more care with sides could really make a difference. I'd like to see this location step things up in the future.

They definitely have their own twist on things. The sweet potatoes were good but a little heavy on the nutmeg. They tasted like a mix of apple and pumpkin pie. The mac and cheese was really creamy. I really liked the horseradish coleslaw. I'm not a big fan of collard greens but I still tried them and actually thought they were pretty good. For our mains, two of us had the brisket and one had ribs. Both were super good. There were 4 different sauces. I recommend trying them all. I wanted to try the sausage but they were sold out. I guess you need to get there earlier than an hour before they closed. We finished with a couple desserts. The banana pudding was probably the best I've had. Their seasonal cobbler was blueberry and very tasty! I was hoping for peach. Maybe next time. Yes there will definitely be a next time. It was a lot of food so we had plenty left over that ate for lunch the next day. The atmosphere is super friendly and really clean. Like most barbecue places I've been to there is no table service. You order and pay at the counter. Then depending on how busy they are they will bring your food to your table or have you pick up at the counter. For me the cherry on top is their pay it forward meal. For $15 you can buy a meal for someone in need. They hand you a receipt that you pin to a board. Then when someone needs a meal they can go in and grab one off the board. They offer them their lunch special. While I was there I saw a very grateful individual come in and get a meal. The staff were super nice and treated them just like any other customer. Great food! Great service! Great value! Do yourself a favor and try this place!

We ordered the tri tip dip sandwich which was the highlight of the meal. It was delicious. We also ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and that was full of flavor. The focaccia was on the dryer side and the chicken didn't fill out the bun so it was just kind of off texture wise and lacking fullness but the favor was 10/10. The chips and red onion dip were a nice little touch. Something I've never had before and we enjoyed it

The decor is all about BBQ and blues. This is definitely no corporate contrived eatery. There is a genuine feel of the bluesy barbecue world. We ordered the Nelson's plate for 2. We substituted the bologna and hot link for chicken and pulled pork. The barbecue is the real thing. The beans have a Smokey sweet flavor that is perhaps the best bbq beans in Oklahoma if not the country. The pulled pork was also tender and sweet, expertly cooked. The brisket was tender and easy to chew. The ribs were perhaps the second weakest part of the meal. That said I have eaten worse in most places in Tulsa. They were tender but in my opinion could have been better. The chicken was the weakest part of the meal. It was a bit dry but tolerable. The potato salad was creamy soft with just a slight hint of vinegar you expect to taste in potato salad in a perfect balance of flavors and textures. We ordered the Mac and cheese was very cheesy and included a cheese pull with a slight funk in the aftertaste that makes it very different dish from the standard offering at other places. While I'm not a sauce user I tasted the sweet and the hot sauces. The sweet was very sweet and the hot definitely hit with a sting I normally avoid but I'm sure would be welcome to the well initiated. I definitely recommend Elmer's barbecue for those pining for blues and barbecue
