This place is a nice hidden find in SGV. It's a standalone restaurant on a corner right off San Gabriel. Parking is limited to about 5-6 spaces behind the restaurant, but there's plenty of street parking. Restaurant is very clean, good amount of seating and nicely spaced out. From what I saw they seem to get a lot of take-out orders. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Prices are very fair and affordable. Don't expect anything fancy, but more of a home-cooked meal vibe. Portions are good too for what you are paying. Now to the actual flavor of the food, it pretty delicious. We got the chicken wings for a side and they were really good, friend, juicy and well-seasoned. They did come out after our main dishes though, but not a big deal. For our entrees, we got the beef brisket curry. Good rich curry flavor, spicier than we expected, but enjoyable. I do with they served a bit more sauce or added some to the top of the rice to add more flavor. Good amount of brisket, though there's a lot more tendon pieces than we'd like for being advertised as beef brisket The other item we got was the spiced beef brisket plate. Sauce was delicious, mixed in with the rice. It was a great comfort meal. Again, a lot more tendon than what I expected. I'm not the biggest fan of tendon so I was really expecting to have meatier pieces than tendon. I also wanted more veggies to go with it. I think we should've ordered one of their veggie dishes since that's what felt missing from our meal. We'll be back when we're craving a nice quick meal with quality food. I'll try other items next time that has less tendon like their spare ribs. Also looking forward to trying their popcorn chicken and Hainan chicken since those looked good too.

May 3rd, 2026 Joy's Express is a great spot if you're looking for tasty food that won't break the bank...even thouh we spent almost a hundo for a family of 5. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions you get. One thing that really stood out was how the food didn't feel greasy at all. The food tasted clean on the "healthier" side. The Hainan chicken soup and the Hainan chicken with rice were absolutely delicious. The flavors were comforting and satisfying, though I personally wished for just a tad more salt to really make the chicken POP. We also tried the curry with rice, which was another winner, to the husband, since he at it all up. The ribs with their secret sauce were a hit too; my son loved them and finished everything on his plate without hesitation. On the side, we had fries, broccoli, and their lotus soup (which I enjoyed very much). Everything paired nicely, and the lotus soup in particular felt perfect after a chilly start to our morning. Will I come back again, yes. BTW, they open until 2am!

~ Great Crispy Tofu ~ A cheap place to eat that opens late! Definitely get their crispy tofu, it is super crunchy with a lot of flavor. They just opened so it might be a long wait. There are 6 parking spots in the back and street parking.

An extremely affordable spot for Chinese/Hong Kong-style food and it's open late. -Beef Chow Fun: Decent. Slices of beef tasted a little salty. -Hainan Chicken: Pretty good. Chicken tasted fresh. -Beef Noodle Soup: Soup definitely had a spicy kick to it. Noodles were a bit mushy. -Popcorn Chicken: Tasted like the old-school Taiwanese popcorn chicken you used to be able to get all the time at the OG boba shops in SGV.

Gave me soy milk to try

New spot that just opened up in San Gabriel. I've been here twice already since I live nearby and it was one of those late night "don't know what to eat" decisions. The interior looks recently updated, bright and clean. I've only done takeout so far, but the staff has been super nice. They even gave me fresh soybean milk while I was waiting which was really good and not overly sweet. I tried the signature abalone sauce with rice. It comes with one abalone which was honestly the best part. The sauce was tasty but I do wish they gave more since the rice portion is pretty big. Also got the braised pork knuckle with rice. It was decent, but I think it could be cooked a bit longer since it was a little tough and not as fall off the bone as I like. My favorite item so far is the "Signboard Chencun vermicelli." It's like thin, silky rice rolls with your choice of toppings like beef tripe, spare ribs, or beef brisket. I've tried all three and they're all solid. I'd definitely order this again. I also really liked the abalone lotus root chicken soup. It's simple but it reminded me of something my mom used to make, so it hit that comfort food spot for me. Didn't really see the abalone, but I'm guessing it's there for the flavor. You can tell they do a lot of takeout orders and the prices are pretty reasonable. I'd come back for the rice rolls and soup for sure, and I still want to try their noodles next time. For now, giving them 5 stars for both service and food.

Spiced beef brisket rice, lots of meat

I can't say enough good things about this place, seriously. Cheap prices, delicious home style classics, great portions, open late, kind staff. Everything tastes fresh and not overly salty or oily (important for my fellow Cantos). I asked if there is a way to order a larger protein portion for the Hainan chicken and the owner suggested I order a half chicken with a side of chicken rice, so will be doing that next visit. The pork spare ribs with rice noodles are delicious and a banger at only $7 for the dish. Spiced beef brisket rice was perfectly seasoned with a generous portion size. Entrees are $11-13 each and drinks are $2.59. How are you gonna beat that in today's economy?! The interior is nice and bright which is a change up for this part of San Gabriel. The restaurant has been pretty quiet the few times I've gone so I'm hoping business picks up for them soon. Tell all your friends!!!

This spot leans heavily into Cantonese comfort dishes. My friend and I ordered the following: - Curry Beef Brisket Rice -Special Beef Noodles - Braised Mustard Choy Sum While everything we ordered overall as good, I would lean towards the Curry Beef Brisket Rice. Loved the kick at the back of my throat, for all my spice lovers. For the Special Beef Noodles, they didn't have the normal noodles and substituted it with udon noddles. Not the best choice. It really gave the dish a blandness to it. The Braised Mustard Choy Sum was good with its dipping sauce that it came it. The spot itself it clean although I was given a dirty plate. The server was nice, welcoming, and attentive. Tip: Just a heads up, there's a raised step at the entrance. Handicap entrance in rear.

$12 for a good amount of food (most dishes). Curry beef brisket with rice 3/5, spicy, decent flavor but the beef was too fatty for me. I think some people would like it a lot more than me. Special beef noodles 4/5, broth was good and meat was tasty. A little spicy. I couldn't try the noods. Braised mustard choy sum - 1/5 bland and not worth it. Nice server, pretty quick, also mostly empty. Seemed like more takeout was happening. Friend's plate was dirty Parking in the back in a small lot but also lots of street parking. Overall this place is probably a 3-3.5 stars but newer so being more open minded.

4.5 stars. Pretty good. Pleased with the order & experience. Ordered online and pick up was easy/without any issues. Service was good too. The cashier was nice/friendly & attentive. FOOD: Beef Chow Fun 4.75/5 It's called "HK Style Beef Rice Noodle" on the menu. Beef is a bit too salty, but the noodle is not. So, overall, the dish came out fine and still tastes fairly good. $12.99 Chicken Congee 4.5/5 It's more of a "4.25", but combining taste and price, I think it's worth 4.5 out of 5 for the value. It's simple, but decent. $4.99 Lotus Root Soup w/ Pork 4.25/5 Not bad. Tastes kinda homemade/home cooking/comfort food. $5.99 Broccoli w/Oyster Sauce 4/5 Blanche broccoli drizzle with oyster sauce. It's cooked Asian style - meaning it's overcooked and tastes kinda soft. No flavor as it's simply boiled or blanched. Rely on the oyster sauce for flavor. Needed some greens, so.... DRINKS: Iced Lemon Tea 5/5 It's not very sweet. Don't think they add too much sweetener. Like the price and taste is not bad. $2.59/cup.

Crispy ToFu

This new grand opening place is my new go to spot!! Very reasonable price and the food is above standard. Family of 5, ordered 5 dish and total under $50!! Highly Recommended

Too full couldn't finish the rice

So good so cheap what more can you ask for! Open till 2am, not many stores are open until 2 am anymore... make sure you come try! Sorry about the photo... I ate it too fast...

Beef brisket rice

I got my food to go and it was really good. I like the seasoning on the brisket and the noodles were really good too. I love the 2 level containers they give for take out! The meat was super tender and the one in the soup was very lean. The service was perfect, for you non Chinese speakers like me, they speak English! Huge plus... Inside the restaurant it is very clean and bright. They have a nice amount of tables, but I'm sure it can get loud if it is packed. Will definitely be back and they also have a few beers there!

Hainai Chicken is decent

Delicious and affordable food, the meat is fresh and also they have combo with drink. definitely will come back again.

Food is not bad, but service can be slow. Hopefully, they will hire more folks to remediate crowds during busy hours.

Won't allow to change some food on banquet menu, just had to add another dish. Food came out fast & with big plates, hardly any space on table, waiter just left it on top of 2 serving trays. They didn't care that serving plates were still full. The beef loc lac was tough, deep fried fish sauce tasted weird with their sweet sour sauce, pea sprouts which I was trying to change to another dish but couldn't, sure enough was so fibrous & chewy. The special fried rice was so full of all different kinds of meat that it was like a meal in itself. With 10 different dishes it would have been better to serve plain white rice. Felt service could been better for 18% service already added on bill. Tea was even charged. Had to ask for menu at cashier & was told already at table, asked for waiter so we can order, had to ask for water, spoons & forks or to have some serving plates taken away to have more space at table. There were few waiters & feel that they were not attentive and restaurant was not even busy. Even parking lot was not full but there was courtesy valet parking & girl was insisting on parking the cars even though several cars was starting to line up. I would never recommend or return to this place again. Just disappointed that my guests did not enjoy the food as well.

The place was bustling for a good reason. You must try their seafood of course, its in the name. But especially the house special lobster noodles. Top notch service.

THIS PLACE WAS SOOOOO BUSSSIN…read more The beef noodle soup was actually out of the world. The soup dumplings were also filling and the broth was comforting. And they have some chairs for people waiting. The wait wasn't too bad, around 25 minutes or so and they text you when the table is ready. They have a very nice interior design and not that many tables inside, but they do a good job of serving food fast so the wait times aren't bad despite the small space. There is a ipad at your table once seated so you can directly send your order to the kitchen instead waiting for the waiter. We got the Wagyu Beef Chinese Burger, Kurobuta Pork and Crab Meat Soup Dumplings, Kurobuta Pork Soup Dumplings, Stir Fried Noodles w Angus Beef, Dry Pot Cauliflower, and Sweet and Sour Kurobuta Pork Ribs. The waiters here were friendly and attentive, giving extra napkins and refilling our water cups often. The food was served in like ten minutes which is fast. I liked the Wagyu Chinese burger the most since the beef is stir fried very well and seasoned very flavorfully. It is just pricey for the size. The soup dumplings were all pretty good with good meat quality and dumpling skin. Each soup dumpling order only comes with 8 which isn't too bad for the price. The cauliflower and stir fried noodles were both pretty good too, very flavorful. The porb ribs were just average though and pricey for only 8 pieces that are not very big. The flakey beef rolls are also very good. Comes with four per order and the meat quality and skin was just perfect. Overall, this is a pretty good spot for soup dumplings and noodles, and I highly recommend the Wagyu Chinese burger. The portions are a bit small for the price but the food quality is good. I can see why there is always a line outside. Their service is also great and fast. I liked how they help pack your leftovers to-go for you. Will come back again!

We were…read moreable to call ahead earlier in the morning and ask if we could be on the wait list or reserve a table. They told us they could reserve a table for us at 6pm. We originally were hoping for 7 or 7:30, but based on how busy and popular this place is I can see why they said no. Come early and get seated right away and there's still ample parking in their parking lot. By the time we left at 7:30p, the lot was packed and people circling around hoping to snag a spot from folks leaving. The restaurant is pretty large and has about 3 rooms with different size tables and booths. No matter the size of your party, there's a table that will accommodate. The staff were very nice and attentive and FAST! We had our food out probably 15 min after we put in our order! Now...on to the food. We ordered one of the set menus for our party of 7 and it was spot on! As you can see in the pictures we had all the "classics". Our set meal could easily be enjoyed by at least 10 people. We had so many leftovers! The food was all well prepared and sufficiently seasoned. Portions of each dish was plentiful and everyone will be able to get enough to satisfy. My favorite items: lobster (duh!), kung pao chicken, pork chops, and shaking beef. The seafood soup is a great starter, and don't forget to add a little vinegar and pepper! Great restaurant in the SGV. This location is much bigger than their Rowland Heights restaurant, but the food is exactly the same. This is a great alternative to the popular Newport Seafood, so don't sleep on this place!

Came at 530 pm on a tuesday, and there wasen't anyone here yet. Afterwards it filled up quickly!! The main thing I dont like about this place is they dont have the prices on what your ordering. Which I'll get too at the end. Like any other Chinese restaurant, their menu is super extensive. I love how they have a little bit of everything. And its very well organized too. We ordered the following: 1. Crab and fish maw soup- this soup was amazing. It was just the right temp. Got me sweating. Can easily feed 12 people. Great amount of maw. The consistency is just right. Tasted so good!! 2. Small lobster special- on a bed of noodles. It was about 5 lbs. Cooked well. Could do without. Basically flavors. And it was expensive!! About $30 a lb. So this one dish cost basically the same amount as all the other dishes. Which was just too much. If I knew it was that much I would definitely not have ordered it. 3. Walnut shrimp- not the best walnut shrimp I've had. But it was ok. 4. Garlic shrimp- this shrimp dish was ok. Too many bell peppers and onions. It was just ok. 5. Mongolian beef- flavors were not that great. Very tender though. Could've been better. 6. Sea trout- this was amazing!! I love the sauce. Fish was so soft and tender. The heat, the spice, the sweetness. Some of that sauce in white rice was just perfection. It was really really good. Best dish of what we ordered. 7. Kung pao chicken- this was a really good dish. Crispy bits of chicken. But so soft and tender inside. I love the sauce that it was in. It was by far one of the highlights of the meal. It was good food. Price for everything (except the lobster) was pretty good. Food tasted amazing for the most part. Typical Chinese customer service. Pay at the front. Massively large portions. Solid authentic Chinese food.
