The entire kitchen and register space is now enclosed behind a giant plate of plexiglass. You pay through a small slit cut into it, by inserting your credit card. Very clean and efficient! The food is as I wrote in my last review, although on my most recent visit the fried rice and soup were better than previously reported. Due to COVID-19, entree prices have been raised by $1, but it is still a tremendously good value. Support your local Chinese restaurant and visit New China!

Was told 15 minutes and sure enough the food was ready and waiting when I walked in. The place was dead, not sure if the lunch rush came and gone, but only saw the owner in the store. Typical hole in the wall joint, nothing too special. Wonton Soup - the broth was good, the wonton wrappers were thicker than I anticipated and it was bit more chewier than other wontons I had in wonton soup. It also had sliced bbq pork in the broth, which was first. The fried rice was decent, 99.99% rice and .01% veggies; could have used little more chicken powder to give some additional flavors. The chicken was good, tender and plenty of veggies to go around. I had chicken with garlic sauce from here before and I wasn't a fan.... but definitely would recommend the chicken with mixed veggies.

They kept pretty much the same menu as before. I rarely see people dining in but quite a few takeout order business. I tried doordash for the first time in my life. I ordered two combination dinners #1 Almond Chicken with fried rice and a egg roll. #2 Pepper Steak with onions, fried rice and a egg role. The Almond Chicken was very oily and the batter on the chicken was impossible to eat along the edge the fried rice was also a little oily. The egg roll was nothing special. The Pepper Steak with onions was the better of the two. The steak was thinly cut and fairly tender. The onions and green peppers still had a little bite. Which is ok in my book. Dorrdash was quick. The total bill was $37 and change that included a $6.75 tip. I would definitely order the Pepper Steak with onions once again and try another dish in the future. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. The next review I do. We'll be a pickup order inside and introduce you to the lady who runs the counter. Alot of you know what I'm talking about. Stay tuned for round 2 at the China One in Milan Michigan.

I tried an assortment - lo mein, fried rice, sweet & sour chicken, general tso's chicken, and a beef & broccoli dish. I enjoyed everything except maybe the sweet & sour chicken wasn't for me (served breaded/dry, with bright sweet & sour sauce on the size to drizzle over - advantage is that it wasn't soggy!). Other dishes were very umami, oily but not greasy or too heavy. The general tso's chicken was nice and crispy on the outside, despite being sauced, and tender on the inside. Loved that the fried rice we got had shrimp and hong shao rou (not sure what this is in English, like braised pork?). Beef & broccoli very tasty and was glad to have a vegetable in the mix :). However, I will say that the sodium levels are pretty high. Make sure to drink plenty of water with this meal! I didn't and ended up waking up a few times through the night because I was so thirsty.

Now, I must issue a disclaimer: I moved to Adrian from the Los Angeles, CA, metropolitan area. As you can understand, there are thousands of Chinese restaurants to choose from - some of them absolutely terrible and some that are absolutely fantastic. This does not make me a "food snob," but I have to be honest here. The restaurant is run by a family that is quite friendly and works hard. The product is quite good, and one will develop a favorite dish to order here and there. They are happy to adjust their recipes within limits to accommodate customer needs. [My wife is susceptible to MSG, for instance - we tell them each time, and they have NEVER failed us. The downside to this business is that they are NOT open for dine-in at dinner. This is a carryover from COVID, though it may be compounded by a staffing issue as well. They survived both instances. This by itself is admirable. They do have dine-in from 11-3 pm at lunch, although I have yet to try having lunch there. Naturally, DoorDash is available for delivery, and you can always drive over to pick it up.

We ordered delivery from here a couple of weeks ago and it was ok but it didn't knock us out…read more We ordered a pretty good amount of stuff--pork dumplings, beef with garlic sauce, chicken fried rice, mongolian beef, and cold noodles. And IDK, maybe we should have skipped the beef dishes because they just didn't really hit great. The meat was a little floppy and the dishes themselves were slightly bland. I had high hopes for the pork dumplings based on how they looked but they were a little underwhelming too and the fillings were a little greasy. The chicken fried rice, however, was great. And reheated really well for lunch the next day. And the cold noodles, as others have said, were also good. So perhaps the menu itself is just kind of hit or miss. If I were to order again I'd definitely try something else.
