Egg drop soup
Jenny N.

We ordered takeout and the food came out hot and fast. The egg drop soup doesn't taste like the typical soup that I'm used to. This one isn't sweet and has tomatoes. So the soup tasted acidic/savory. The Singapore fried rice noodles dish has a lot of curry powder seasoning. The chicken is cut into very thin chewy slices (almost like chewing on chicken skin texture rather than the actual meat). There's a few shrimps thrown in there. The veggies are crunchy. Portion is huge so you can share it with another person or split it into multiple meals.

That's what the orange chicken turns into after chewing

I don't understand why you would change a better-tasting brown walnut chocolate bun to a different chocolate bun. Can you please bring the old walnut chocolate bun back? Thanks!

Came in with hubby for lunch, on a Saturday, after an eye exam. Not realizing it, we walked in 20 minutes before they actually opened. The guy at the counter was cool about it and welcomed us in. He insisted we sit down and look over their menu. We ordered a variety of plates. Everything came out hot and fresh. My favorite dishes were the pork dish and the eggplant. The green onion pancake appetizer was the perfect starter. Overall style, mood, cleanliness, service and food were solid. I would come again.

This place used to be so good, but the quality of the food has gone downhill. The bok choy we ordered was not good, bok choy was old and yellow. The fried rice was just soy sauce slapped with lots of oil. I rather go to Panda Express than come here. this is hideous....

When they first opened I came all the time, to the point the servers recognized me. It was always packed with a wait. Everything I had was really good. Over the course of a few years it just wasn't consistent so i didn't come as often. Last night I wanted their hot and sour soup (they call spicy & sour). The restaurant was empty with the exception of 2 tables. We were seated instantly and given water. It was absolutely freezing inside and the front door was wide open on this cold rainy night. A family was at a table nearby dressed in heavy coats with hoods and hats on. My dining partner asked if the door could be shut and the one server on duty said no. They had the the air con on and the door open. We asked if we could move to the other side away from the door and were told that section was closed and we could not. It was uncomfortably cold so we left as did the groups who came in after us. Not sure what's going on, but this was one of my favorite spots in vista and it's sad to see what it's turned into. Maybe I'll check out the Oceanside location again, hopefully they are more accommodating.

Just came after getting pedicures across the street at Aria- so it was about 5:30 pm- server was not as friendly and my friend was a bit put off- but the food was delicious and we enjoyed our dinner - we stayed but before closing we're basically rushed out of the restaurant- as she wanted to close - early which was weird

Service is great here they are always very attentive and nice, the food is flavorful I had the wontons with chili oil they are really good and the green scallion pancake is one of the best appetizers to get it's similar to a quesadilla haha but their own version, the food always come out fresh & steaming hot and very fast paced which is great when your starving! This place is really good can't wait to come back

What's with those random pink ginger strips??

I am updating and downgrading my review after today's experience (I also noticed I overrated my firsts experience there, it should have been 3 stars since my spicy dumplings were overly salted). I was craving Xiao Long Bao and decided to go to Joyee for a very late lunch. How disappointing... The XLB skin was extremely thick, cracked open on the top (see my photo here: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/joyees-dumpling-house-vista?start=480&select=1jurpathdFtbweTYK4lJsA ). They looked industrial made and frozen XLB. The "soup" in the dumpling was not tasty and almost not present. Very bland, perfectly shaped ball of meat, definitely machine made. How and what were those couple of pieces of thick pink salty ginger? MEH. I would give them 0 stars. Cucumber salad, again, you can't go wrong (I'd add sesame oil in them though). That was most likely my last time at Joyee.

I got the pork and chive dumplings, which are always good. I tried the chicken and corn dumplings which were ok. It was ground chicken with corn kernels. I think it would have been better if the corn was more ground up and there were more spices or something added. The cucumber salad was very very tasty. The beef with brocolli was also ok. I found the beef to be rather fatty tho. Definitely think the chicken is better here. The service is good and they were super nice and let us be there late.

My husband and I were in the shopping center and we decided to try a new restaurant (new years resolution) we ordered a few things thinking we wouldn't be full with one plate. Boy were we wrong ... the waiter was super amazing welcomed us, served us the food and when we saw the portion it was more than what we expected. The food was prepared to order so the flavor was amazing.

Pork wonton soup

This place was pretty good. It's been in my collection for some time. Finally getting to try it was nice. I haven't had dumplings in a long time. My friend Alex enjoyed it as well. The pork soup wonton was a big portion for $12.99. A good size portion for the price. You can share it a few times and can be good for 2-3 people. The scallion pancakes were so delicious and crunchy! The soup dumplings had so much flavor. They do take a bit of time to make. The chicken and corn were yummy as well. The service is efficient. They had a cute mascot statue outside. It was nice, clean, organized inside. I would definitely come back.

I had a really bad MSG reaction after eating there. No wonder the food tasted good and overall did. I will not return.

Ordered fried rice and it looks nothing like the picture. It was pure oil and soy sauce. Lady tried to take a picture of my child and I.

This was seriously one of the BEST finds we've stumbled across! Don't get me wrong, I was a bit…read moreskeptical at first, but OH. MY. GOODNESS!! We came in around 1:30 PM and stayed until about 2:30. The restaurant was calm and quiet at that time of day, the atmosphere was beautiful and welcoming, and the service was AMAZING. But the FOOD?! Absolutely phenomenal. You can genuinely taste the authenticity and freshness in everything. This isn't one of those places where every dish tastes like the same generic Chinese-fusion food. You can tell there is care behind each dish, from the flavors and textures to the presentation. We HAD to try literally almost EVERYTHING. And when I say we HAD to try a little bit of everything, I mean it. We ordered the chicken chow mein, beef & broccoli, orange chicken, sticky rice balls, sesame balls (8), fried veggie spring rolls (3), pork potstickers (8), AND the honey walnut shrimp with a side of steamed white rice. We basically turned our table into our own little tasting menu, and there genuinely wasn't a dish that made me regret ordering it. We were even given complimentary egg drop soup because of how much we had ordered. Anything that was supposed to be crunchy had a GRADE-A CRUNCH. The honey walnut shrimp was creamy, perfectly balanced, and easily one of my FAVORITES. The chicken chow mein was delicious, and I have to give them MAJOR credit for the orange chicken. I'm normally not a huge orange chicken person because so many places make it overly sweet or just not very palatable, but they got theirs DOWN TO A T. Even the potstickers came out with such a beautiful presentation! Yes, at first glance some of the prices might seem a little higher, but once you see the portions, taste the freshness, and experience the quality, it makes sense. I normally say "cry once, buy once," but for a restaurant like this? I would GLADLY keep coming back. The quality and experience are absolutely worth it. What honestly makes me a little sad is seeing how phenomenal this place is and knowing how easily it could get overlooked. There's so much traffic passing by--parents picking their kids up from school, people out working and grabbing lunch, or just anyone passing through--and I really hope more people stop in and give this restaurant the attention it deserves. PLEASE give this place a try and support them! I will absolutely be recommending it to my friends and family. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, beautifully presented, and properly executed. My absolute favorite out of ALL of them would have to be the Honey Walnut Shrimp -- OH MY LORD. And listen--if you're comparing this to fast-food Chinese prices, you're comparing apples to oranges. Sometimes you pay a little more because you're getting noticeably better freshness, flavor, quality, and care. If cheap is the goal, there's always Panda Express. If GOOD food is the goal, I know where I'm coming back. I genuinely hope they continue to have so much success because food and service like this deserve to be recognized. Long story short: STOP PASSING THIS PLACE UP! Come hungry, order a little bit of everything, and thank me later. Kung Fu Noodle, you understood the assignment. 10/10 -- WILL be back! Your taste buds will thank you.

The spicy fresh cucumber salad was incredibly refreshing with just the right amount of heat. The spicy braised beef noodle soup was rich, comforting, and packed with tender beef and bold flavors. The popcorn chicken was perfectly crispy and addictive, and the steamed vegetable bao was soft, fluffy, and delicious. Every dish tasted fresh and was prepared with care. If you're looking for authentic flavors, generous portions, and a great dining experience, Kung Fu Noodle is definitely worth visiting. We'll absolutely be coming back! Thank you Lotty for providing amazing service and guidance while we tried during our visit in SD~
