I want to add an update, to say that Joybird is claiming they are being generous and offering us credit at a value higher than what we'd paid. Even in their response to this review, they have done this. But had they simply offered us credit in the amount that we paid for our Lewis sofa on sale and allowed us to get a different model also at sales value, then we would have been able to afford one of their sturdier models as a replacement, without spending another penny. By offering us more credit than what we paid but only applying it to the base price of items, we would have had to pay $500 ADDITIONAL DOLLARS for a sturdier model. Which is objectively a worse deal for us. But they keep insisting, even as we attempt to salvage the $2000+ that we invested in the horrible Lewis sofa, that they are offering us more than what we paid. Do not believe this company, they will scam you every chance they get - even after they sell you a sofa that breaks twice within a year. Worst purchase we've ever made. read more

I ordered a couch online on 11/20/24. I got an email saying it was leaving the warehouse on 12/11/24 and I could expect delivery between 12/20/24- 12/25/24. Therefore, I thought the latest it would be was the 25th. I knew it wouldn't be delivered on Christmas so I figured it would be before then. Today is 1/10/25 and I still have not received my couch! I spoke to several people at Joybird who told me that I could request a time for delivery but they couldn't guarantee it. This couch is going to my business so I couldn't have it delivered during business hours. On the 1/7/25 I got a text saying it would be delivered during a time that did not work for me so I contacted Joybird and they cancelled the delivery and told me they would put the request in again. The next availability was 7 days later, on 1/15/25, but again they can't guarantee it. I told them this could go on for months. I spoke to a manager named Breeana R. She apologized that they can't accommodate my "lifestyle" and maybe it's isn't a good fit. She was rude and did not agree with me that this is a ridiculous situation. She kept talking about their policy. I told her that they never should have "estimated 12/20-12/25 for delivery. She argued about that. She did give me a protection plan for my trouble - for the couch I don't have. I suggested that she needed more training to deal with customers if she can't empathize with my situation. I have already made 2 payments on this very expensive couch -that I don't have. It would be like making 2 car payments on a car that you don't have. Frustrating! I am trying to find someone to contact at Lazy Boy (who owns Joybird) but there's no contact info listed anywhere except for the channels I have already reached out to. I hope I love the couch and I can write a good review about the quality of it but I can't in good conscience recommend this company to anyone I know or don't know. read more

This company makes cute stuff. They have horrible variances on when things will arrive. I originally ordered a Briar sofabed and it was going to take 6-8 weeks. The date kept getting moved back and then I realized it would not match the color shown on the images. They recommended I order something in stock if I needed it soon. I found another sofa bed in stock online and it was on clearance. Great! The girl on the phone told me that it was "definitely in stock and would ship by Feb 12th". I that's the end of February for delivery. Great. Awesome. Then I checked status mid-February and it was delayed until mid-March. I have emailed twice and no one has responded. Then this past week I got an email stating my couch is NOT in stock and I would get a refund. What the eff. Horrible ridiculous service. No solution just canceled after weeks of waiting never again. read more

I happened to be in NY this weekend on a trip from Boston and visiting the Joybird showroom in Brooklyn was a top priority. I had done my homework and had some key design questions. First person I met was Tyler, a prince of designers. He helped me make those decisions and showed me a new color swatch that works "way better" with my rug and chair than the one from I chose from the swatch book I had ordered. New, as in, came out last month. It was great to sit on the sofa model that I like. It is wider and more substantial than it looks which is a plus. The absolute BEST customer experience. We were greeted when we walked in Then allowed to browse for a few minutes before someone approached us. Cae came over and was so gentle and kind. She explained the showroom set up and told us to grab her with any questions. Then she let us shop in peace as a couple. Anytime we would approach her she knew exactly what we had been looking at and was able to just jump into what we were experiencing as if she had been in the conversation with us the whole time. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase, even encouraged us to 'shop' around when we told her it was our first stop. We then shopped around other showrooms and NONE of them treated us with such grace and courtesy. 7th Avenue has a similar feel, with velvet upholstery options. The sales there was so ontop of us and pushy we simply couldn't. We went back to joybird and immediately had a sigh of relief (and exhaustion from going showroom to showroom). It just felt like home. First, bed took two months to arrive. I get it, supply chain, expected that might happen going in. Second, mix-up with the delivery team that was supposed to assemble it. They say they never assemble these beds, but our work order says they should. Third, when I went to assemble it myself anyway *it was missing a key part*. We have two "left" bed frames and none for the right. Just an amazingly blatant mistake. We've already disassembled the previous bed and now we have all these huge, VERY heavy bed pieces sitting around while I wait for the warranty team to get back to me and ship a replacement. God knows how long we'll be without a bed while that sorts itself out. All this for something that cost thousands of dollars. Never again. The fact that so many different, seemingly unrelated things went wrong means the entire process they have here must be irrevocably broken. UPDATE: just heard back on the replacement part. It's going to take another MONTH just to ship it out to us. Just shocking incompetence at basically every stage of the process. ANOTHER UPDATE: I've contacted them via DM as requested below. We'll see if it makes any difference, or if these replies are just here to make it look like they're responsive in public-facing places. LAST (?) UPDATE: as suspected, the "please DM me so I can help!" thing has produced no change or expeditated timeline. Don't be fooled, guys: places like this will often reply publicly to make it look like issues are being addressed, and then privately say they can't do anything to fix it. YET ANOTHER UPDATE: eventually got the replacement part here in 2.5 weeks instead of 3-4...but it turns out several screws are missing, one of the bars for the foot of the bed has no way of attaching to the replacement rail, and there's a *freaking nail* sticking right out of the storage shelf. Thank goodness I saw it, because it would've been so easy to cut myself if I'd just been reaching in there for clothes. I just can't fathom the number of errors happening at every step of the process here, from logistics to, ya' know, making sure your customers aren't getting stabbed by the product. read more
