My in-laws were visiting and we need a better solution than the air mattress that they were sleeping on. I found this place online after some research, and we stopped in. All of the staff were very helpful. We told them the size futon that we needed and what our budget was and very quickly they found a solution. The wooden part of the futon was great quality and a beautiful dark brown. They let us lay on the mattress which was nice and firm and took pressure off of my lower back. Once we decided to purchase, the manager showed us how to open and close the futon, something I appreciated very much. It came with a futon cover (we got to pick the color) and well as an anti-slip mat. Unfortunately, it was around the Fourth of July weekend, so we wouldn't be able to have it delivered for another week. The manager offered us the solution of getting an Uber XL, something they do often when a client needs something sooner. We completed the purchase and ordered the Uber which came fairly quickly. Once we got home we put the futon together and tested opening and closing it. It's really a great piece of furniture and I'm happy we purchased it. Everything went well in my exchange with Futon Land. The futons were delivered, and the high-quality cotton covers are a nice deep color. Unfortunately, one of the covers arrived with a 3 inch slit in it, which Futon Land promptly replaced with a brand new one. I've bought four futons here over the past 25 years. The in-store service is hit and miss. I had to argue at length with an employee who would not admit she didn't listen to me when I placed my order. Having bought four futons before, one whose frame broke within three months, was repaired and broke again two months later. I decided this was my last try. I love the new futon but won't be back. How does a store clerk argue that what you said you asked for you didn't ask for when what you asked for was based on past experience? Is $1,500 something you take for granted? I even mentioned a Yelp review coming if she didn't fix the situation, and even that did not change her attitude. The delivery guys are stellar, however. Raymor and Flanagan might be a better match for anyone. I suggest bypassing Futonland and finding a reliable outlet. read more

I purchased a large sofa and white glove delivery service over a month ago. The sales team did not ask questions so they were not prepared to deliver the sofa when they arrived. The delivery took over three hours, the sofa was damaged in two areas, and my wall. The customer service team has attempted to address the issue, but has not been responsive and not provided a clear resolution although I have made very specific requests. I received my order along with 2 additional matching pillow covers. The shipping was extremely fast and I am so impressed with the quality of the construction of the item. I was not expecting this type of quality honestly. The zipper and fabric were all heavy duty and the cover fit my futon perfectly. There was a little misunderstanding with receiving a credit from the swatch purchase. Patrick called me and he was extremely professional and explained what happened and I was quickly refunded the credit amount. I really appreciated the fact that he reached out to me. Will refer to more people I wanted to remove a star but won't because maybe this is my personal opinion not everyone shares, but $80 to build a couch that only has 3 pieces which ended up taking 15 minutes to do was too high. We never paid that but after doing it ourselves I can't believe they think $80 is reasonable price for something so simple. I'm writing this review after a very, shall I say "special" experience with Futonland. My husband and I ended up at their Brooklyn outlet in search of a pull out couch. There was only one gentleman working the sales floor, Matthew, who was as friendly as could be but admitted he doesn't typically work the sales floor. We located an item that we wanted but he didn't know where the color swatches were. My husband did some searching in nearby drawers and found them himself. We picked out a pull out couch and the color swatch we wanted along with a mattress topper and placed the order with Matthew. The whole process seemed pretty seamless and straight forward. Two weeks later I have a confirmed delivery date, but the day before delivery I still have not received a delivery time. I finally call them around 5:30pm and they give me a two hour window in the morning. I let them know that time frame works but I need to leave by noon for a meeting. The next day, by 12:10 they still have not arrived. I head out for my meeting and see them coming up on my way out. The doorman gives them the key, I give them a $20 tip, and tell them I've left notes where to put the couch, and I leave. Two hours later as I'm turning my phone back on after my meeting, I see multiple voicemails and phone calls from the delivery guys and my doorman. They apparently have locked themselves out. They let themselves in, put the keys down, and walked out without unlocking the door or holding on to the keys. I call them immediately and they have left but said they can be back in 45 minutes. Three hours later, they still have not arrived. At this point I have spent 5 hours of my day waiting for them and had to cancel afternoon plans to make sure they didn't screw it up again. They finally arrive and bring the sofa in all wrapped up and begin to disassemble it so they can bring it upstairs and reassemble it. Once they finish, they bring me upstairs to show me how it works. As soon as I see it, it's very clear that they have delivered the wrong sofa. It's much larger and has a completely different functionality from the one we demo'd on the sales floor. I call Matthew, our original sales associate who sold us the mattress (we were like the only people in the store that day and we had been emailing back and forth with him so I knew he would remember us). I told him the wrong sofa had been delivered. He deflected and made up a bunch of things about why we ordered this couch. After several phone calls and emails from both myself and my husband, Matthew finally escalates this to his manager Eddy who is much more reasonable. Eddy seems to immediately get that the product on the sales floor that we demo'd and the product that was delivered are two completely different things. Eddy agreed to swap out the incorrect one for the correct one next week. This time, the delivery guys arrived on time and with the correct couch (yay!!) However in removing the incorrect couch, they didn't wrap the couch with cellophane before starting to move it downstairs and thus got blue couch residue all over our white walls. Some of the marks are three feet long in places too high for myself or my husband to reach to even try to clean them. All things considered, I would not use them again. Their prices are not discount prices and their "white glove" service is more like "blue wall stain/wrong item" service. read more

Very nice people. I knew what I wanted, a wardrobe made by Palace Imports, and found a competitor selling the item for less. They immediately met the price and were very nice about it. It was a new item for them, not in stock but it arrived in 2 days for me to pick up. There was 1 piece missing, not intentionally since the were unfamiliar with the item. They not only go the item right away, without any argument or having to call them back after my first call, they delivered to my house the next day at no charge. I was just looking for a new futon mattress when I stumbled across their website on Google. I ended up buying the Dillon Natural Full Wall Hugger Futon Frame and a Comfort Coil 9" mattress from Futonland. I am extremely happy with this purchase! This was a BIG futon upgrade for me from my old metal futon with a now flat mattress. I like how firm yet soft and springy this mattress feels. It has the feel of a regular mattress. My back is no longer hurting. The Wall hugger frame is wonderful. No more sliding the whole futon back and forth from the wall every time I convert it. The frame is absolutely beautiful and looks like a piece of art. I'm very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend Futonland when it comes to convertible furniture (or the traditional beds). Their large selection is very impressive. Also, the customer service is excellent. Kelvin in Brooklyn was especially kind and helpful to me. Deplorable customer service. My wife and I tried to return a bedframe that broke days after we had purchased it, and we were told that our refund would be subject to a 20% restocking fee. (You only learn about this fee by clicking the link on their site that says "100% Satisfaction Guarantee." Some guarantee!) When I argued that that fee wasn't quite fair, the salesman berated me for buying a shoddy product in the first place! So now I'm being insulted for spending money in his store and buying a product that he had recommended! Wow. I prefer to shop local and keep my money in the neighborhood; unfortunately these local merchants gave us a terrible experience. I scoured the internet for deals - Macy's, West Elm, Jennifer's, you name it. Nothing was available immediately, few items were even in store and could only be purchased sight unseen... it was an ordeal. No written warranty: I bought a futon in June. There is a dipute because I have been told several different things about the warranty by the salesman, store manager and manufacturer. Who is telling the truth? I do not know because I do not have it in writing. Tricky "White Gloves Delivery Service:" The salesman typed onto the Order Form and the Delivery Form that the delivery men were supposed to wear gloves. They did not wear gloves. I ordered a different futon in January, and one of the two delivery men put greasy fingerprints all over the Venus futon because he did not wear gloves. The other delivery man wore gloves. The store manager told me, after the fact, that the White Gloves Delivery Service does not mean the delivery men wear gloves. However, if that is the case, then why did not the salesman tell me. The salesman told me they would wear gloves. I think the salesman, delivery men and store manager need to be re-trained, and I think Futonland should stop doing business without written warranties. It's too much of a headache. I will never ever, again, buy furniture without a written warranty. read more

Went to Futon land, factory outlet and the first thing I loved, was the parking! Where in Brooklyn do you find free parking lots! The selection and choices where fantastic and the quality is really good. The delivery was right on target and the service was polite, helpful and Stan went out of his way to get my daughter exactly what she was looking for.
