My boyfriend and I went to try a new sushi spot and stumbled across this place, very small, no elbow room, my purse was bumped at least half a dozen times during our meal. My boyfriend ordered a bento box that was brought our fairly quickly, I ordered 2 simple rolls, by the time he was done with his box I began to wonder if they even processed my order, I asked the waitress about it, she then went to the order line and yelled for them to make my food. If you're looking for fresh fish, this isn't the place. Got the Yelp Voucher because this place had above 3 star rating and I always enjoy finding new places to eat. We ordered the nigiri plate, some of their special rolls, the soft shelled crab roll, gyoza, and short ribs. Everything was satisfactory but the nigiri plate, soft shelled crab roll, and service. Like I said before, fish tasted old. The soft shelled crab roll lacked any flavor. Service was poor with no refilling of the drinks. Really odd since the place wasn't all that busy past the regular lunch hour. There rating must be due to the bento boxes and other cooked entrees because it certainly wasn't the fish. Went there for a quick lunch and got what I came for. The bento box choices were very clear and marked well. I had spicy tuna roll and salmon sahimi. The box lunch comes with soup and hot tea. The service was fast even at the busy lunch hour. The sushi was fresh and portioned well. The sushi rice was actually made by someone who knows what they are doing, as it stuck together. The food is good, though, it is not as good as the one in San Mateo :( The service is terrible when we arrived yesterday evening ... There was only one waiter for ordering, sending out dishes, checking out and all other things. So even there was not many people, we waited for a long time. We didn't get our salad until we left. I am giving the food 4 stars but I am giving the services 2 stars. I have eaten here at least once a week for the last 10 months when I moved to the area for a new job. Once they never brought my food but brought everyone else food. When I asked for my food at 2:10 they told me the chef had left for lunch. I gave them a 2nd chance after that. Then today I came and it was pretty packed as usual. I told them it was me and one other person. There was a 4 person table Available only so I started walking over. I was then stopped and told that since I was a party of 2 that I needed to wait for a smaller table. I explained that there was no others waiting so I wanted the table that was available. The staff insisted I wait. Horrible business practices. You help the customer in front of you versus making the customer wait for nothing. I have to re-think if I will ever eat here again despite the great sushi! I am now done with my meal and the 4 person table is still empty! What a waste and bad customer service on their part. read more

I am so excited to have found a sushi place in my neighborhood! Their online ordering tool is great because I can order before I leave work and then pick it up on the way home. I've only ever gotten take out, but I am hoping to eat in next time. I love special sushi rolls, and this place has a surprisingly good selection of them-- each one that I've tried so far has been great. **update 9/24/14 I've been eating here with my family at least once a week. Everyone loves it! I love the fact that their special rolls are considered an entree and come with miso soup and salad at no extra cost. It shocks me that restaurants such as these are even ON Groupon! This is a small little place tucked in the far left of the plaza, but don't be fooled - when I first walked in, there was just something about the ambiance that had me love at first sight. I felt so welcomed despite how little the restaurant was, and despite it being lunch hour. The servers were so kind, helpful, and eager to serve my boyfriend and I. The sushi ... is something else. The sushi is so phenomenal that I think it is up to par with higher end sushi restaurants (ie: Mizu Sushi), and did I mention their sushi runs a little bit cheaper than other restaurants? Theirs falls within $11-13/roll, most restaurants vary from 11-16! One of the head chefs was also so kind to take a picture of my boyfriend and I with the sushi. I'm truly disappointed in this restaurant. I really liked having a close and decent sushi place but they really blew it today. I raved about them and convinced my dad to drive a half hour to meet me for lunch. We arrived right at the front end of the lunch rush. The hostess told me a table would be leaving soon. We said we'd wait at the table to the left. She agreed and said "don't worry. I'll come get you." Ten minutes later, two other parties walk up. Four person parties. One started to walk away. She called after them and reassured them they'd be seated soon. Then proceeded to seat them before us!! The table size was the same as the one shed pointed to as leaving soon. I walked over and said something. She played dumb and pointed to "my" table that was still occupied. WHAT????? I told her that just didn't compute and that we were going to leave. She said OK. Didn't even care!!! I felt so offended and upset. And like a complete idiot for representing them to my dad as awesome. Fuck that. Not going back there. That was a big offense in my opinion. I'm not an avid sushi eater but I find myself constantly drawn to this place. The service is more than accommodating and the employees make me feel right at home. I'm not a big fan of cold raw fish so their large selection of warm sushi plates appeals to my senses in glorious ways. Also, free miso soup and salad with every meal. Great place! read more

I'm a big fan of unusual fusion maki. Some of my faves here are Sunshine Roll, 1st Roll, and Joy King Roll, but there's such incredible variety that I frequently try (and enjoy!) others.
