    $1 oysters & limoncello spritz

I have been to Jonathan's a few times to dine in the lounge for $1 oysters. They are offered from 4-6pm every day, even on weekends in the bar/lounge area. The staff is very nice and the restaurant will often have live performances. The $1 oysters are only able to be ordered by the dozen- but they are $20 cheaper from 4-6pm than during the rest of the day! I have tried other seafood appetizers and menu items and found them very good as well. The main menu items and drinks are on the pricier side, but it may be what is typical in the area.

Great venue! Went to see the Sophie B Hawkins show here on 6/1/25. I got amazing seats at a very good price which included a $25 voucher towards dinner. The staff is very friendly and the food was delicious! I can't wait to come back!

If it were based just on the food, this review would probably be a 2/5. The food was pretty subpar, especially for the price. I got the Chicken Masala and it didn't have much flavor, the chicken was meh, and the noodles were overcooked. My mom got the scallops and she said they also didn't have much flavor. My dad liked the fish he got, so maybe we just picked the wrong menu items. I think they'd do better if they paired their menu down. The only reason this place is bumped up from a 2 to a 3 star review is because of the great service. Our server was friendly, funny and efficient, and our drinks and food came out in a timely manner. It seemed pretty empty inside for a summer evening, too.

New Englandy type restaurant. White tablecloths, sculpture and flower gardens adorn the outdoors -- all visible from the windows of the DR and provide a magnificent backdrop to your meal. They have handy stands for your purse at every table; a nice touch. Excellent haddock chowder! Another plus is that it is stone's throw away from the Ogunquit Theatre. We were one of the first cars in the parking lot at 6:25 PM and walked to the restaurant, avoiding the traffic in and out of the parking lot. We were amongst the first cars to leave when the show was over!

Delicious food accompanied by Wonderful, attentive service from Darlene, surrounded by beautiful gardens that are even well lit and enjoyable after dark! I had Jonathan's house salad and the seafood chowder. The salad was crisp, fresh local veggies and perfect light citrus vinaigrette. The seafood chowder was very good, hubby enjoyed the wedge salad with French onion soup served in traditional croque, warm French bread and butter was perfect accompaniment. My mom had the roasted artichoke appetizer and the eggplant napoleon and we both loved the light and crispy eggplant! Finished it all off with the warm blueberry tart Ala mode! A lovely meal - highly recommend. We are staying at the Meadowmere next store and this restaurant is where we will be coming back to!

We had a local recommend this restaurant and we were not disappointed. We go back to Maine almost every year and have yet to be disappointed! It's casual dress, but elegant food. We have shared a date night a few times and felt very comfortable bringing our kids at other times. All of the food is fresh and the stuffed lobster is ridiculously amazing! They've prepared it for us even when it wasn't on the menu. Service is fantastic and everyone is so nice! Well worth a visit.

Best food in Ogunquit!…read more The haddock sandwich and chowder were fresh, filling, and flavorful. The kids' meal with haddock was also high quality and felt like "real food". Plus, the broccoli it came with was cooked so well that my kids gobbled it up. Service was very helpful, attentive, and friendly. We arrived without a reservation and were told there would be about an hour wait. The host came across as a bit snarky, although he did offer us seats at the bar, which we appreciated. After being seated, it took about 30 minutes before anyone took our order, followed by another 40 minutes before our food arrived. The bartenders were working incredibly hard and were clearly doing everything they could to keep up with the rush, so I don't fault them at all. Unfortunately, one of our meals arrived cold and was extremely over-salted. The restaurant refunded that dish without hesitation, which I appreciated, but it shouldn't have left the kitchen that way in the first place. From what we could see, the kitchen was seriously backed up and the overall operation wasn't being managed well. The staff deserved better support because they were hustling nonstop while trying to deal with unhappy customers. I hope management addresses these issues because the employees are putting in the effort. With better kitchen execution and smoother operations, this could be a much better dining experience.

We sat at a table by the window on the first floor. We overheard that there is an upstairs bar, not sure if they also seat folks for dinner there. We were able to place an order right after getting settled. We enjoyed the Sun mocktail, charred beet salad, mac and cheese, fried codd sandwich, steak frites, and corn ravioli (without the pancetta). My spouse is gluten free and I am vegetarian so we are always looking for restaurants that can accommodate both. The charred beet salad was good but I think dressed a bit too heavily. I thought the corn ravioli and sun mocktail were both great. The kids (ages 1.5 and 5) liked the Mac and cheese and fried cod sandwich. They did not have any appropriate booster seats for the 1.5 year old so my spouse held him. My spouse loved the steak frites but I think wished had a few more "frites" given the amount of interest from the younger crowd. Our waiter was wonderful and also brought some orange slices from the bar for the kids. We were very grateful. We decided to go nearby for ice cream after dinner, but I heard there is a dessert menu.

Gosh, you just hope you made a memorable choice for the right reasons. We did - we both felt we not only received value for our dining dollars, we felt cared for by the staff and satiated by the kitchen. People like sitting outside - so the reservations reflected that and we could only be seated inside. Was not a disappointment to be seated inside. I highly recommend this restaurant. I had a steak sandwich and my dining partner had a chicken sandwich. Both were really tasty and well prepared. We only had water to drink and that was not a problem. I feel many times if I don't order an app or a drink a server becomes less friendly. That wasn't our experience here. I don't believe in over rewarding a place - but I feel a 4.5 out of 5 is appropriate. Since I can't give that - I rounded up to 5.

The menu varies by season and always reflects a local Maine touch. The appetizers are exquisite (Shellfish Tower, Shrimp Cocktail, Oysters, Salads and Chowders) and the entrees always tasteful whether its the lobster, salmon, scallops, which are always fresh , or the beef, chicken or duck dishes, all are perfectly cooked as ordered. The wine list is ample and if there is something that you want for a special occasion, you should call in advance and they may be able to order it. No guarantees but they try! And the desserts, well my mouth is watering as I write this. Please bring back the sticky toffee pudding!!! We have always found the wait staff to be professional, patient and polite. Dana and Javier have done a great job juggling the natural challenges in this area. Trainees shadow the pros and they learn how to handle the range of high-low and no maintenance guests. We have seen them all! The ambience is warm and inviting and of course, the many views of the cobalt blue Atlantic and Marginal Way from the roof deck and most tables simply wraps the entire dining experience into a magical evening. If you have never gone, plan your parking because like all great restaurants tucked into small seacoast towns in Maine, its is in short supply, and if you can't find it, there are pay-for parking options within a short 2 minute walk. So, all in all, you must take the time to visit M.C. Perkins Cove Restaurant when you are in Ogunquit.

My martini was perfect, but food left a lot to be desired. I was debating between the mac & cheese (without lobster) and the stuffed leeks. The server convinced me to get the stuffed leeks. When they came out, the leeks themselves/the filling were room temp (like not hot or cold), but the sauce around it was hot, which I thought was odd. It almost seemed like the leeks had been sitting out for a while and then the sauce was poured on at the last second. I didn't want to sound crazy by asking the server if the dish should be warm, so shortly after receiving, I asked to order the kids mac & cheese. It was $16!!! For such a small portion. I didn't even finish 2/3 of the leeks and was kind of hoping to get it taken off our bill since I paid $28 for something I didn't end up eating due to how it was served/worry about food being left out and not properly heated. We had a hard time choosing where to eat because everything around the area had like three stars, but would come highly recommend recommended. This is one I think I would say could be skipped! My friend got the lobster croquettes and said the croquettes were warm and the lobster was cold. Not sure if that was intentional?
