This is a very common restaurant for Filipinos and we know why. The spicy chicken sandwich is tame in terms of spice. You can't go wrong with that one if you like just a little spicy. The fried chicken though is where it is at. The spicy fried chicken is the spiciest fried chicken we've had at any chicken place and we love it. Every bite has legit spice to it. Spaghetti and mashed potatoes are fairly generic, but still good. The spaghetti is on the sweeter side though if you haven't had sweet spaghetti and of course, has hot dogs in it. The pineapple drink was delicious and well worth the extra for an upcharge. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was clean. It's surprising it has such low ratings given how wonderful our experience was. The prices were comparable to other fried chicken joints too. I'd go back! read more

I've ordered via their mobile app on three occasions and I have to say, the app is convenient and the food is good. Ordered pick up all three times and food was hot and ready all three times. The Kapolei Jollibee's location has a good sized parking lot with stalls designated for mobile orders; and well spaced-out drive thru area. Nowadays on Oahu there are a number of solid fried chicken fast food franchises and local spots - serving Southern, Korean, and Japanese styles of fried chicken. Jollibee's delivers with crisp and juicy fried chicken. Their spicy version is kinda mild. What surprised me was their Spaghetti. I prefer al dente pasta with a spicier marinara but their sweet red sauce and soft noodles with hotdog slices has grown on me as a decent alternative. My family and I decided to grab some Jollibee for a quick dinner tonight, just like we do every so often. As usual, the food was delicious. We typically order the 6-piece meal deal, which comes with 2 sides and 2 of their signature pineapple juices. I think it's worth the price when ordered like this. The chicken was cooked to perfection with a crispy exterior, just the way we like it. My kid's favorite part of it all is when the staff says, "Have a jolly day." Although they don't always say it, the service is usually great without any complaints. However, I give a 4-star rating because of the small rice portion. It is frustrating to receive a container of rice with insufficient quantity. I hope they can fill the rice container the same way they fill the gravy container in the future. Overall, if you haven't tried Jollibee's chicken, you should definitely give it a try. However, if you cannot handle spice, I would not recommend the spicy chicken. Palabok with 1 piece Chickenjoy is my comfort food. Dined in during Sunday lunch. Palabok is yummy, not too heavy, and perfect for quick or rush meal while I can't seem to resist their famous fried chicken. Moist, tender and hot on inside. Crispy skin on outside. Came in for some fried chicken and was excited to see that they had a special for National Fried Chicken Day. The Special is 10 pieces of fried chicken for $10. The regular price is usually $25 but the order needs to be made on-line. The chicken was ready for pick up in 45 min and also happy that I could go through the drive-thru which was not busy to pick it up. I called them to make sure as online stated curb side pick-up was not available. When I got there, I just told them on the speaker that I was picking up my on-line order. They asked for my name and had my order ready when I got to the window. The employees were so nice and their service was quick and efficient. When our transaction was done, the employee said, "Have a jolly day!" I believe that is their signature saying, but it appeared sincere! The chicken was cooked well, very crispy, and juicy on the inside. I don't usually have the gravy with it but it comes with the chicken and some in my family like the gravy with the chicken. I would definitely come back for their fried chicken and I also love their deluxe chicken sandwich although I didn't order it during this visit. Their chicken sandwich is simply splendid. It is one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had. The bun is soft and the chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They add a special garlic mayo sauce on it and the deluxe has tomato and lettuce added which I like. If you are in the drive thru and they ask you to park in the front to wait for your order, my recommendation is don't. Twice I've parked, waited 10-20mins to not be brought anything only to have to walk in to get my food because they forgot. I wish I caught the guys name working the register around 7:30pm on 1/22/25. But the guy makes my plate and was just going to give me that. Had to explain to him again I didn't have my THREE fountain drinks. Jollibee in Kapolei is so convenient and after my experience there, I wish I tried this place sooner! I loved how fresh their spicy chicken is. It is soooo good! And spicy, whew (in a good way)!!!! I've been wanting to try Jollibees for a while and a couple days decided it was time. We drove to Kapolei just to eat here. The Kapolei location has a lot of parking and it's on the backside of the mall. We decided to eat in and the dining room was very clean. It appeared the employee in the dining room was just there to clean as people left and he was doing a great job. The menu has a lot of options but we came for the chicken, palabok and pies! I ordered the 2 piece chicken (spicy) combo with palabok and the pineapple drink that it supposed to be a popular drink. My BF got the 2 piece (spicy) chickenjoy combo with mashed potatoes and a fountain drink. We also added on 2 mango peach pies. They gave us a buzzer and we waited only a few minutes and our food was ready. The pineapple drink came with the food and honestly it tasted like the pineapple juice out of a can. I wouldn't get it again, especially since it's costs more than a fountain drink. The chicken came with a little flag in each piece that said Spicy. We both dug into our chicken and agreed it was juicy and had a lot of flavor but was not very spicy. We liked how crispy it was. The chicken came with a gravy and I've never had gravy with bone-in chicken but I'm down to try anything once. My BF thought our gravy tasted like canned/powder gravy but I actually really liked it. It was good with the chicken. We are fans of Popeyes and compare all chicken to that. We liked that this chicken was crisper than Popeyes but we liked the flavor and spiciness of Popeyes better. One plus for Jollibees was it was not very greasy. My BF said his potatoes tasted instant but it is a fast food restaurant so.....I stirred up and dug into my palabok. I actually really liked this dish! The sauce was nice and garlicky. The pork and shrimp were tasty and mixed up together it was really good. Even the BF agreed! This location seems to always disappoint. While the workers are friendly and the restaurant is clean, this is the second time in a row (months apart) that I've come in when they're unable to produce a simple chicken sandwich. The first time they were out of their chicken patties--how do they let that happen? This time, as I sit in the parking lot disappointed (again), they said the machine that they use to make the sandwiches is broken. I would not recommend coming to this location as there always seems to be a shortage or unavailability of chicken of some sort...and so there's no joy. They have consistently let me down. read more

I was pleasantly surprised when I got my lunch from Jollibee the other day. I've been to the Ala Moana location a while ago and I thought it was okay. Today's meal was good. I kept trying to eat more chicken off the bone, haha. I had trouble deciding what to get so I was asking the cashier some clarifying questions. Since it's during Covid 19 they have this huge plexiglass shield up and then the worker also has a mask. It was a little difficult to hear them. I was trying to ask if they have any vegetable sides. She said no. Kind of disappointing, maybe they should have vegetables as a side. The only sides offered were rice, French fries, mash potato, or adobo rice. Since I ordered the two side meal I got adobo rice and mashed potato. I thought the fried chicken was really good. I don't normally eat the skin but for this one, you just had to. It was the right amount of crunch and crispness. The mash potatoes were okay. I didn't think they were anything special. I think I can make better mash potatoes. Wasn't a fan of the gravy either. I think everything tasted fine without the gravy. They gave an extra gravy in the bag but I didn't use. The adobo rice was pretty good but I brought most of it home. It's worth the wait. Of all the chicken franchises on the island, (KFC, any Korean chicken shop, BWW, even Canes' which you've all read my reviews) this is the only place I know that serves gravy with their fried chicken. I really don't mind but in my opinion the chicken is so moist it doesn't need it. The chicken always has wonderful flavor whenever I get it. And I'm not going to lie, I really like the spaghetti. Filipino style spaghetti meaning sweet sauce with chopped red hot dogs. There is the adobo fried rice (not always the greatest), seasonal fried pie (presently sweet banana), and burgers. I never ordered a burger at any Jollibees and I don't plan too. Overall the food is great and the place earns four stars. It's always clean and busy. How busy? You can wait up to 15-20 mins for your food even through they have chicken under the warmer lights?!?!? But worth it. Now excuse me? Gotta wash my hands. I moved to Hawaii December 2019. Before then, I had never heard of Jollibee. There is a branch in the Ka Makana Ali'i mall complex so I would pass by everyday since I was staying in the adjoining hotel. There is always a line in the drive thru so I assume it must be good but, never considered going in. Recently, a friend in Tampa, FL posted about going to Jollibee and stated the food was good, so it piqued my curiosity, and I decided to try it for myself. I took the short walk from the hotel. The restuarant itself is generally clean. It was fairly empty inside (there were about 3 to 4 other guests dining but, as always, the drive thru was full. There were three employees behind the counter ready to take my order but, because it was my first time, I was undecided. When I was ready, there was a lady behind one register but, called on a younger male employee to take my order (I'm not sure why but, this stood out to me). I took a few pictures of the menu since I wanted my mother to see what they served so she can decide what she wanted (she stayed in the hotel since she wasn't feeling well). I am still getting use to seeing rice, pasta, and items like "hotdog sausage" on a fastfood menu but, Jollibee had it all. We decided to go with the 10 piece spicy chicken bucket special for $21.99 and got a side of fries $3.49 and a side of adobo rice $2.49, al a carte. My mother love love loves Popeyes chicken so of course that was what we compared it too. Surprisingly, the food was really good. I was taken aback because the chicken was actually spicy; and I don't mean no punky spicy either! It was legitimately hot. Typically, when a restaurant offers 'spicy anything' it is generally mild. But, Jollibee spicy is the business. The fries were fresh and hot so that was a plus and the rice was good too. Such a great staple!!! We used to be strictly "Louisiana chicken" *nudge nudge*. But the spicy chicken at jollibee is truly where it's at when you want that bucket for dinner!! I've tried their burger steak dish... meh, it's ok... not bad, but I enjoy the chicken so much more. ;) The spaghetti is Filipino style... you know... the sweet one, LOL. I remember serving my niece spaghetti once and she looked at her dish after her first bite... as if she didn't know what to make of it! It was the cutest! She cleared her plate :) Oh, and today they had a special pineapple float. It's perfect sweetness! We were worried it would be too overwhelming as pineapple juice can be, especially with ice cream. This Kapolei location really puts the joy back in fast food. I haven't tasted tasty fast food since 1997. McDonald's, KFC, taco bell all lost their touch with their cold gross food. Here at Jollibees is the BEST! My favorite is their Yum Yum burger and chicken sandwich and pie and I like to dip my fries in the side gravy. The staff take pride in their job that's why the food is ALWAYS HOT AND GOOD and this location is spotless clean with cold AC. Great place for a little date or bday party I think. First time trying Jollibee. Ordered original and spicy chicken sandwich meals. The chicken on the original was stringy and crunchy when chewing the meat. The crunch was not from the coating on the outside. I mean the chicken needed to be cooked longer. The fries were 'dead' and no flavor. Spicy chicken only from the jalapenos on the sandwich. In my professional opinion, as a culinary chef at chop steak hawaii for 4 years, the chicken was very mediocre. Some pieces dry, while some very moist (too moist in my opinion). The spaghetti was okay, it has a mysterious flavor. I liked the choice of hot dog as the meat, the familiarity gave me a sense of comfort. The choice of long grain rice was questionable, but overall tasted good. The gravy was very watery and while it did not lack flavor, the flavor was very bland. The overall feel of the actual restaurant is very modern and sleek. It gives a vibe of professionalism and care for how the costumer feels when eating their food. Should you eat here in my opinion? Located within Kamakana Ali'i Shopping Center, its a bit of a walk from the main mall but you can always drive as they have their own parking lot in the front of the restaurant. I ended up ordering the Two Piece Meal with Palabok, my mom ordered the Chicken Sandwich and my niece had the Three Piece Meal with Rice. Their chicken is always on point for me. Crispy on the outside and pieces were a good size. The palabok was okay, seemed like it was way too oily. The gravy for the chicken was alright don't really care for it as some others really enjoy it. Overall their chicken is great! Sometimes pinoys can be dumb af and the workers at this place make me not want to stand for pinoy pride. I've been to this location many times and it doesn't take long at all. Once they forgot one of my burgers, the manager made sure it was done right away. He hand delivered it to our table and apologized. I thought that really took the notch up on service. - The Filipino food! It's still fast food. But I LOVE it! My kids like the yumburger with cheese ( I could have sworn it was called cheeseburger yum) with pineapple juice. I LOVE their breakfast plates. so many choices and all with RICE! Most of all, I love their fried chicken!! One time, we went to another chicken place...and my daughter was mad. I asked what's wrong and she said "They forgot the gravy!!" hahaha!!! They did not. The last time I got this combo at the Ala Moana location it was $6.99. I'm not sure if the prices are different at the different locations, or if the prices just went up. Their fried chicken is crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. The pineapple drink is on the sweet side, which I like. I just can't get used to Filipino spaghetti. Halohalo dessert... yum! I'm hardly ever in the Kapolei area, so I don't know when this location of Jollibee opened. So, when I saw it, I immediately wanted a halohalo - it's shaved ice with lots of goodies at the bottom (sweet beans, gel, shaved coconut, kernels of corn or other combinations) and topped with a scoop of ube ice cream, jackfruit ice cream, and custard! Yum! Just mix everything together and enjoy! The parking is easier than the Dillingham location and the interior seems more spacious and cleaner! The service was very helpful and friendly! The drive through is very convenient and stays open one hour later than the restaurant! I think I will return for the famous fried chicken and maybe the limited special - the egg salad sandwich... sounds interesting, right? ...haha! read more
