Tonight we came to hear the Eric Dries Trio and Lia Booth. A dinner with a show. Phenomenal music, delectable food! Service is excellent and ambiance snazzy for a restaurant in a mini mall. We started with the Focaccia de Recco, followed by the beet salad. I had the roast chicken carbonara, my husband hand the homemade sausage lasagna. For dessert, we will be having the Irishman. NOTE TO THE CHEF: I only wished that the chef would have crisped up the prosciutto instead of just throwing in the slice as is. Texture of food is everything. It would have elevated the dish. I'm going to buck the 4.8 star average rating. The trouble with fawning Yelp reviews is they create an expectation most places have a hard time living up to. This place is one of them in my opinion. One thing going for Jojo's is it hosts some good acts, and live music is pretty scarce in Tustin. We went to see Pretzel Logic, a really terrific Steely Dan tribute band that never disappoints. The views of the stage are good even when seated in the back of the room. The lighting and sound are good, too. However, the food was just so so, Jojo. * The calamari appetizer was generously portioned, but we've had a lot better elsewhere. * The Ribeye steak I ordered was the fattiest piece of meat I've ever been served. I left half of it uneaten. I'm surprised the cook who prepared it had the gall to plate it. The menu is an abbreviated version of the full menu of 17th Street grill. So why not a two star rating? Need to step up their food menu .Was not impressed with the taste and selection.Been there three times and always been disappointed.

First time to attend a dinner & show at Jojo's Hideaway and was totally impressed. I had the Cajun shrimp fettuccini and it was so good to the last bite! The dish was loaded with huge shrimp, Cajun andouille sausage, and peppers. It was loaded with such a rich and creamy sauce. My husband had the chicken parmigiana. Chicken was cooked just right and tender. Pasta was very good! I had a couple of their very smooth pineapple Moscow mules and was just rocking out to the music of Steely Dan presented by the tribute band, Pretzel Logic. Our server was very attentive too! Such a great place. Will definitely be back for other shows & dinner of course! This place is a gem! read more

very intimate venue they have great live music. I ordered filet mignon and I had to return it. I don't know if it was a bad piece, but it didn't look like filet mignon. I couldn't even cut it and it was chewy. I tried from all sides. Finally, I said for the price I'm paying I'm returning it. I returned it and got salmon, which was delicious. read more

First time attending and was pleasantly surprised! There is no signage out front as it is a part of 17th Street Grill, where there was good parking. The room leant an intimate atmosphere, with great views of the stage. We started with the Coconut shrimp which was perfectly done, crunchy but only had a smidge of dipping sauce on the plate. The Beet and Strawberry salads were festooned with spring mix, nuts, cheese and berries with tasty dressing. The Grilled Salmon and Lasagna entrées portions were generous, arrived hot and tasted delicious! The Long Island and Mango Margaritas were very good but the drinks arrived late with the entrées. We ordered the Irishman for dessert which was a great complement to an equisite dinner. Other than the drinks arriving late, the service was very attentive and we left a generous tip! The Zeppelin Revisited band was fantastic with enthusiastic applause from the audience! I am so glad we made the trip to experience this venue and were very pleased with the evening out! Bossa Nova night with Bossa Vai Vai was 100% top notch!! The singer's voice was mesmerizing, the band solid & overall transported you to another time & place. I can't believe that JoJo's Hideaway is not packed all the time especially with quality live music being scarce in OC. Definitely worth the drive - wherever you are coming from. Looking forward to seeing Bossa Vai Vai when they return to JoJo's. They were fantastic! Lots of good food choices, everyone was happy with their meals & drinks. Went to enjoy a great jazz band..."B Side" and were happily surprised with amazing food and drinks. Had the Moscow Mule and the Spicy Mule. Both were outstanding. Then had the grilled artichoke which was truly superb-would come again just for this! My partner ordered the grilled salmon and he said it was the best salmon he ever ate. I am a vegetarian and our excellent waiter was extremely accommodating and made me a plate of delicious grilled vegetables. In fact, our waiter expertly cared for everyone in our large party. What a fantastic night out! Jojo's has the ambiance and vibe of a private jazz club with live music and truly divine food. From my lemondrop martini, and the wine they picked out for us, to the heavenly beet and apple salad with citrus goat cheese, to the salmon which was excellent, everything on the plate was a delight. For dessert, I had the Irishman- a huge piece of layered chocolate whiskey cake that could really serve four. My dinner companions all ordered different things and everyone loved their meals. And as if this wasn't enough, this delicious meal was accompanied by bluesy, jazzy lounge music on stage, everyone was digging it. Definitely coming back here! read more

Wow, a hidden gem in Tustin. The food was fabulous and the entertainment outstanding. A nice pace w service. Very professional. An excellent value. The food was fresh, well prepared. Full bar as it shares 17th street Grill bar. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. They even had our surname printed on the menu. Nice touch. Our party of four enjoyed the Salmon, Brussels sprouts, twice baked potato, stuffed dates and short ribs. No room for dessert as the portions are generous. The live entertainment was amazing. Mike Hamilton was featured as a one man band and he certainly sounded much more like a full band!! He shared stories of his years on the road with Kenny logins and other bands. What a find!!! What a hidden gem!! It's a well appointed room that resembles a small supper club in a big city. The food was incredibly delicious; the service excellent and the best surprise was the music!! Our talent on the nigh we visited played nonstop with a variety of musical genres! Wonderful!!! It was a pleasure to sit back and listen but we could still chat due to a perfect volume! My wife and I visited for their Valentine's weekend special Prix-Fixe menu and musician. The food was amazing and including large fresh salads, scratch made crispy focaccia bread, surf & turf with stuffed steak, lobster, crab, and shrimp. Then decadent desert to top it off. It was well worth the cost and we'll be back to try other menu items as well. The chef came out twice to discuss the food, the staff was great, the wine and beer prices were not crazy, and we met the owner. Overall it was a wonderful evening. read more

We were first time diners at Jojo's Hideaway for the Chalk Hill wine dinner. When we entered the restaurant at 6:05 we were left standing en masse at the waiting area with two dozen other people and weren't seated until 6:25. The room we were eventually seated in was cramped...nearly three dozen people in a side room with no windows. We both felt like we were dining in the back room of a cafeteria. The five course dinner cost $75 each. First course: cheeses, fruits, bread with a Sauvignon Blanc...my partner got a piece of fruit that I thought was some sort of fig...the seeds were very hard and she almost broke a tooth ending up retiring to the restroom to spit out the remnants...not a great start. Second course: seafood tidbits with a Chardonnay...both were good. Third course: duck breast & sausage with a Pinot Noir...both were forgettable...the duck was tough and the Pinot was watery. Fourth course: beef cap with Cabernet Sauvignon...the "steak" was tough and the Cabernet was average. Fifth course: sticky toffee dessert something that everyone at our table took one bite and left...with a decent porto. Service was okay. There was "entertainment" by an elderly man attempting to croon like Frank Sinatra...we're in our sixties and even we thought it was beyond old school boring. The worst was management decided to put an 18% tip on the card without my consent! I was going to leave a bigger tip, but I HATE when restaurants put on an automatic tip without my consent...especially when we're paying a lot of money to begin with and then they don't trust you to leave a tip?
