What a hidden little gem! [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the exterior this spot is very unassuming, curtains block the windows and with the lighting dimmed they almost look closed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you enter you welcomed with sleek decor and an upscale ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was greeted almost immediately and shown to our table. The staff was knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. Our group ordered the ribeye, shrimp, and Chilean sea bass and everyone loved their meal. I opted for the sea bass which was so flaky and flavorful, and for my 2 sides I ordered asparagus and mushroom risotto. I was surprised that risotto was a side option and was very happy with how it came out! The citrus sauce that was on the sea bass and asparagus was a tiny bit overpowering, it had a good flavor but needed a touch more of either butter or oil to cut the sharpness but that is my only note, everything else was 10/10 and I can't wait to be back

Jeff's has long been on my list of local places to check out; not only are the menu and food pictures attractive; the reviews are consistently positive; and more recently, friends have raved about the good food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]With a desire to sit at the bar top, it's a good thing we arrived a few minutes early, as there were already 4 couples ahead of us (whew, we succeeded at getting a comfy bar chair -- which, to my delight, was the appropriate height for their counter!).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm confirming the reviews of others -- and neighboring guests at the bar top, the cocktails were tastefully strong -- filled to the brim (that hubby and I slid our martini glasses along the counter towards us to take our first sips to avoid spilling a drop!). Despite the entrees having the option to add a Caesar or Dinner salad for $8, I'm glad we started off with their flavorful Iceberg Wedge, $20 (which they appreciatively and attractively split). Grilled bread is available upon request! Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his 14 oz. Rib Eye ($51); I, too, very much enjoyed my order of Pan Roasted Salmon - with savory sides of mushroom risotto and roasted mixed vegetables ($35). After browsing through Yelp photos, I figured I'd be able to identify Jeff; however, learned that Jeff has been replaced by new owner, Paul! We feel so privileged to having met him; Paul described the goal of making dining there an "experience" -- which it was! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Comfortable and casual atmosphere, with a fine dining experience. This is another example where the simple exterior belies the dining experience to be found inside. Fun-&-friendly locals vibe![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Such a hidden gem of a place. Jeff's Inviting Food and Spirits has limited opening hours and is also quite a small and cozy place. It's very easy to miss as the restaurant is almost hidden within an undescript strip mall off of a major street in Orange. However, their food and service are of the upper echelon. To start, their service was excellent. The staff was very attentive and our waitress was just the friendliest. She steered us in the right direction regarding the menu (although I'm sure the other options are just as good). The food was delightful. Each of the dishes we ordered had great flavor and were enjoyable to the last bite. My personal favorite was the garlic shrimp, makes sense why they have both an appetizer size and an entree size. I didn't order a drink myself but I had a taste, their drinks are also very good and were poured quite generously. I am definitely making it a plan to come back as I want to try more of their menu and drinks.

Ask the Community - Jeff's Inviting Food and Spirits

    Any Covid precautions?

    None

What is the corkage policy at Jeffs?

They used to offer a corkage fee, but no longer - - they do not allow wine to be brought in to their restaurant.

Is there a dress code and are reservations required?

We tried to "stop by" like they post to do. both times they were full. Last time we were treated like we're idiots for not knowing reservations are a must. We'll not "stop by" again.

We stopped by here on my birthday for a nice evening dinner. Got there a little before sunset. There's just something magical about eating outside during a sunset, especially at the Orange Plaza. The restaurant has such a cool look and vibe! We started off with the Hamachi crudo, salmon ceviche, and a bowl of clam "chowdah". The crudo was absolutely delicious, highly recommend. The salmon ceviche was really good but a bit heavy on the sauce for me. The clam chowder had whole clams in the shell throughout. That was fun to pick them out! For entrees we got the lean and mean plate with sea bass. It comes with salad and rice, we substituted the rice for black beans. We also got the skirt steak "bulgogi" which was served on top of mushrooms and bok choy with a sweet soy sauce. They accidentally brought out salmon instead of sea bass, but were very apologetic. They brought out a sea bass on the side and comped the entree to make up for it. Great service right there! The salmon and seabass were both delicious and cooked perfectly. The steak was tender and juicy, full of flavor. As a birthday gift they brought out a thai milk tea blondie sundae which was soooo good! Get it if you like sweets. I wish the owners all the best in their future endeavors, they created a great restaurant that many will miss. Thanks to all the servers, hostesses, cooks, and bussers as well for making my birthday dinner so special!

They brought a bottle from home, since this place allows free corkage for first bottle, what a nice service to provide wine glasses for your wine! Ordered several things and all good with a couple standouts. This place has good sauces to dip seafood into, to provide the extra flavors I am always looking for. - fresh sourdough & whipped butter = always my pleasure! - calamari, crab cakes = fried well and tasty appetizers with the sauce. - oyster sampler = got to try 3 of them, all were very fresh and good! - sand dabs = satisfying big pieces, could use some more of the sauce over it. surprised there isn't any rice or fries for the sides, which would make this dish more satisfying. mac n cheese was ok for me, but kid loved it when brought the leftovers home:) - soft shell crabs (southern fried) = wow, this was easily my favorite thing! 2 big soft shell crabs fried to perfection with tasty tartar sauce. Those crabs were delicious, would love to get this again!!! Never had whole soft shell crabs like this, only the small pieces appetizer at sushi joints. This was a much more enjoyable way to eat those soft shell crabs! - clam linguini = got a taste, pretty good. all about the sauce I guess. - seafood chowder = got a spoonful to try with a chunk of fish. like a vegetable soup with seafood flavors, wow, this was also very delicious and the fish chunk was fresh and perfect! - also got the fish n chips, but forgot to take pics = big thick chunks of cod was quality and delicious. but kinda pricey for fish n chips, so made sure to get the 3 piece for averaging cost down, lol. Enjoyed it here, so many more things to try too...

Sad, sad... We sat the booth table by the window where we'd used be in the past. We got only 2 appetizers, coconut shrimps w pina colada sweet sauce, Shrimp crab Flautas. I tried Mexican lager tab for the first time. Big surprise for the lager! So refreshing, so good....I loved it. I think the best lager so far. My wife liked flautas w shrimps crab, spicy chili dipping sauce. My wife said they didn't have any pasta w marinara sauce all the time. Only alfredo... We wish they add more pasta dishes w marinara sauce. Today we had a great time right after the 4th of July. We always liked fresh baked sour bread w creamy butter to start. Interior, ambiance, service are all great, nothing changed. Pros Parking is huge. No problem to shop and enjoy dining including watching movies all day. Cons Pasta menu: No marinara sauce Tacos: only soft shell, hope they make hard shell.
