Initially, we thought we only needed gutter filters because our house is surrounded by fir and cedar trees. Leaf Guard would replace our gutters with their gutters and filters--that's all--for $25K! Leaf Filters wouldn't replace our gutters at all and install their filters in our existing 25 year old gutters for $16K. David Shore, who is a gutter expert/owner and not a company who is selling filters, explained that they would replace our gutters with the proper size (original ones were too small), add missing counter flashing between the roofing and the new gutters (very important!), new down spouts, new filters (of course), and add in several places "valley diverters" that would direct rain water into the gutters rather than creating a waterfall over the edges. Lastly, they spread moss killer on the whole 2-story, steep roof. Total price $16K and well worth it! Dave, the gutter expert not just a filter salesman, knew what our house needed and where to spend our money. Their expert installers, Cody and Daniel, completed the project in two days and each day they completely cleaned the entire work area with a magnet wheel, leaf blower as well as cutting up and hauling away the old gutters and downspouts. We would never have found this fantastic company if we hadn't gone to our local Home Depot pro shop where they referred us to High Point. When I asked why the estimate for the downspout was so high, I received a text from the estimator, Evan, saying that I was "not the right fit" for the company, complete with a smiley face emoji. The interaction came across as very passive-aggressive. I then attempted to schedule ONLY the basic cleaning (a separate estimate), because the project manager had not indicated that I was not allowed to do so, and I continued to receive automated reminders via text and email to schedule it. Then, Evan followed up with a passive-aggressive email, also complete with a smiley face emoji, continuing the interaction unnecessarily. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

I have a metal roof and gutters with gutter guards. They company that used to do an excellent job on my roof (I'll call them "JB") is a janitorial firm that appears to no longer do roofs. I called AA based on reviews and explained that my roof was quite dirty with pollen and was clear with them it was metal. They said they would come and blow the roof off and see what else could be done. They did NOT come right out and say they could not clean up pollen. They quoted me a price lower than the previous company had been charging, so I scheduled the work about three weeks out. The tech came out late in the afternoon, spent a LOT of time looking around and talking to the office and then told me that they could only blow debris off. To do a wash would take two people a full day and cost around $2,000. Sorry, that's NOT going to happen! I said go ahead and blow the roof off, there was plenty of Douglas fir cones and other debris that needed to come off anyway. The work was fine for what it was, though there's still a mess of pollen up there. I would have preferred that they just say "we don't clean metal roofs because you won't be happy with the results."

TLDR: do not hire for anything other than spot repairs for leaking roofs…read more So we hired this company to repair a leak coming down in our garage. Sales person came out for review to make an assessment on what would be involved. In the conversation they offered to clean the roof, I told them there's a lot of moss up there and they said they could easily do that. Oh they cleaned something, just not the whole roof. They got the entire north side of my house covered in caked on globs of dirt. This included everything around there like my A/C exterior fan unit, my trash bins, my shed, my storage lockers and my deck boxes. They left a hose, my hose, on the roof and running all night long until my wife spotted it the next morning. My front hose was also used, I know this because instant of rolling it back up using the roll they just left it all piled up at the corner of my house. Now told them about this, and the person who responds just always says they'll get in touch with their "experts" and let me know. Eventually they came back to finish cleaning the roof and clean up the mess on the side of the house. They came and went then I got home and checked, looked like they took about two seconds to clean some of the side but ran off to their next project. It was in no way clean or even in the condition it was in prior to their work. As for the roof being cleaned and moss control applied, I can't get all the way up on the 2nd floor roof to know but my HVAC company came out to do some other work related to "Smokey cedar smell in air ducts, & they climbed up to the 2x!: floor and took photos. There was no moss control applied on the 2nd floor roof and miss was growing everywhere on the west back side, yes this was the very next day after M&H came. Cleaning and moss control were services we agreed M&H would do.m, but they clearly didn't yet still charged me for it. Oh and that donkey cedar smell? Sawdust in the HVAC exhaust line from roof & vent repairs. So basically the roofing company offered a series of services they never fully executed. I had to hire a different company to complete the gutter work and re-clean the lower & upper roofs and apply moss control up on the 2nd roof. Then I had to clean out my HVAC vents, and I had to wash and scrub the exterior of my house. How are they still in business is beyond me.
