Jaime inspected our old roof and explained his observations on the current condition, no major leaks but slow seeping typical of a roof at the very end of its useful life. They turned around a detailed quote very quickly and encouraged us to take our time to shop around and get in touch when we were ready. Monalo had earned my trust by finishing the job on time. I had contacted him through Yelp and established a friendly relationship. I even reached out to him directly on the phone. I had given him a job to repair the sidings, caulk, and paint, and asked him to work on his free time, apart from his big roofing contracts. Monalo showed up the next day to start the work. He pressure washed the siding to make it ready for repair and paint. He then asked for money to buy the material. Since we had a trusted relationship, I transferred the money to his account directly. However, Monalo started giving false promises. He promised to finish the work this weekend, then promised after promises, and dragged it on for over two months. I started to suspect his intentions and looked at past reviews about him on Yelp. I found that this guy is a habitual fraudster. When I asked about either a refund for my advance payment or finishing the work, he stopped replying to my messages and calls. Please don't give him any advance money. Otherwise, he will run away.

A short update - if you read my previous review, you'll see another company did our main home's…read moreroof in 2018... and now it's clear they made a few mistakes along the way. Having had such a great experience with Salvador and crew on our shed and outbuilding re-roofing project, I called them out to fix the chimney flashing work that the other roofer performed. Wesley (who, if I remember correctly, was the foreman on our outbuilding job) came out about a week after I reached out to properly fix the other company's mistake. After seeing the pictures, I am confident we have the right repair up there. Pricing, as usual, was very reasonable and a good value. And, as a side note - the work they did on the outbuildings has held up for three seasons very well. We had a bit of a tricky situation with the larger outbuilding, which required some clever engineering on their part to get water to drain off a gently sloped porch roof. The custom metal work they did for the gutters has worked very well to get water where it needs to go. They are "our" roofers going forward and assuming they are around whenever we need to re-roof or get a repair (which, hopefully... is a long way's off) - they will be my first contact.
