Contacted John with repair inquiry in the early afternoon. He was kind enough to provide over-the-phone troubleshooting tips before the service call had even been set. He gave me a ballpark estimate of repair costs and inquired about my availability. After informing him that I was available for an ASAP call, John graciously added me to his schedule after his hectic work day had already ended. He arrived promptly at my residence wearing proper PPE) and even removed his shoes at my request. After a quick diagnostic check, he gave me a repair summary(broken spring replacement) with cost and duration of job. I left him to his task and he was finished within 45 minutes. My garage door is operating as smooth as a Rolex now. Great work John! You're much appreciated ; ) -Wilton read more

John was great to work with from start to finish. He answered the phone, responded quickly, and clearly knew what he was doing when diagnosing our garage door issue. We never felt pressured into anything, and after reviewing our options, we chose to replace the entire garage door although he could have repaired the one we originally had at a fair price. The workmanship was solid, the job was completed quickly, and everything was cleaned up when he was done. As someone with a technical background, I had no concerns about the quality of the work. John is a nice guy, easy to work with, and his pricing was very fair. I'd definitely use him again and would recommend him to anyone looking for garage door service. read more

Took longer than expected. He ended up putting in my garage door crooked and didn't fix it and gave me a $200 discount instead and then made me pay him cash because he wanted to avoid paying income taxes. Also said he would install two springs and only installed one. read more

I had him come fix my garage door and the whole time I felt like he was undressing me with his eyes .he made me feel very uncomfortable. I would not recommend having him come fix your garage door unless you wanna feel uncomfortable in your own home. read more

John was fast, efficient and the value was great. He showed what he had done and answered any questions we had.

John was able to come out assess the damages to our garage the same day I reached out. He was helpful provided a lot of information and able to replace our garage. He kept us in the loop about when he was expecting the garage door and when he would be able to come out and replace it. He assessed the garage on a Wednesday and replaced it that Sunday. read more

John was great. came to change our motor quickly and didna great job. Very knowledgable.

John's ratings are well earned. We called him in the late afternoon regarding a persistent problem with our garage door. He diagnosed it over the phone and said he would stop by that evening to take care of it. He kept us posted on his ETA and showed up as expected. He not only fixed the problem, he also made a modification to ensure it doesn't happen gain. Great response. Great service. read more

John Imboden repaired our garage door timely and we're happy with the quality of his work. He showed up right away with needed parts even on a weekend. Very reliable and friendly. read more

I don't know why they're such good reviews on here because I just had a terrible experience. A young man by the name of Ty came out didn't speak very good English and tried to tell me I didn't need all these parts for my garage door which the parts are 30 years + old and tried to tell me I only needed the springs and nothing else and tried to charge me the same price other companies charge for changing out other parts. And then asked me if I had $1,100 cash that he quoted me for the job that was to just change the springs. Of course I said no. Told him I would be giving my business to someone else. What kind of shady business is this? Beware! read more

Would highly recommend! We asked for him to come out and help us with our garage door and he was able to fit us in the next day. Quick to respond very knowledgeable and trusting professional. read more

We needed to replace our garage door motor and John was available to look at the model immediately. He quoted us a very fair price and dealt with the clutter in our garage with no complaints. We're about to move so our house is chaotic and we needed access to the garage for the movers soon. Plus our home is older so he had to deal with some past diy hacks from the previous owners during the installation. He installed it for the price he quoted and it's so nice to have a working garage door again. read more

The garage door suddenly stopped working. It was beeping as if there were something in the path of its opening but it wouldn't open. A rep from John's came out the day we called. He opened up the unit on the ceiling, cleaned it out and then told us it needed to be replaced. I hit the on switch just to be sure it still didn't work and it worked fine. I went in the house and my husband stayed out to pay for the service call. The guy charged him $500.00 and suggested a $50 tip because he'd come the day of the call. My husband paid him $550 for 20 minutes of his time, no parts, no expense on his part. When I called the office to complain, they said they'd discount a new opener $500 if we wanted to replace the one we have. These guys are bandits! Use at your own risk. read more

John is the best. He installed a new garage door opener less than a year ago so it's under warranty. It has malfunctioned and he has come back a few times to fix it. The company finally sent a new replacement. John is coming on a Sunday to finish the job. I think the man is absolutely the one to call if you have any garages door needs. read more

Found John on next door! He was responsive, professional and a great guy! I got a great price and excellent service. We requested repair of a broken spring to our garage door. John promptly came to our rescue. He fixed it in a short period of time. John is very competent, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Cost of repair was reasonable. We would highly recommend him for your garage door needs. read more

I'd give John 6 out of 5 stars if I could. Amazing level of service.... I mean let's start with the responsiveness. I was arranging a broken spring repair near midnight, because I just got back late from helping my tenant get her car out of the garage and she really didn't want to leave her car parked outside too much. She's a great tenant so I was trying to arrange something for the following day. I wrote John, and he wrote back within a couple of minutes, I really didn't expect anyone to be checking their messages at midnight! Anyhow, I asked if he could do a spring repair the following day, but after hours since my tenant works all day and wouldn't get home until past 6pm. No problem for John! He quoted me a reasonable price and was happy to handle all the scheduling directly with my tenant, making it easier on myself. So come installation day, and John actually gets the job done way earlier than expected (after arranging his visit with my tenant), super quick work! And here comes the kicker.... I accidentally overpaid John because I'm a big dummy and didn't count my cash before handing it over (I was in a rush when I counted at home and mis-counted). John calls me after we had already drove off and told me I had overpaid. This man could have easily walked kept the extra cash but he was honest and waited up for me to meet and give me back my overpay. Honest and fast service, truly above and beyond. I'm very happy to recommend John's services! read more

Prompt. Efficient and skilled and at a fair price Will definitely use his services again.

John just finished repairing my garage door, he quoted my one price, and even though the door was bigger than originally quoted he stuck by his price. The guy is honest and did a great job. He arrived when he said he would and completed the work as promised. I definitely recommend him for the work. Great job. read more

John is the guy to call if you are in the Vallejo area with a garage door issue. I got in late Thursday night, tried to fix the problem myself. Talked to John the next day and he diagnosed the issue on the phone (the spring) and other issues. I was able to quickly get a quote over the phone for a broken spring. The communication leading up to their arrival was good. Most importantly, they fixed the issue quickly, explained the work and some differences in materials and even installed my new battery on the motor for me which I hadn't gotten around to doing yet. I would use them again. read more

Quality work and competitive pricing that can't be beat in the Bay Area for garage door service. This is a well deserved 5 star business. We called to replace our existing garage door opener that was having circuit board issues. Johns prices beat the other three places we checked. Excellent communication throughout. Very knowledgeable and even fixed a couple of other items affecting the smooth operation of the garage door. Completed on time and added an inside door lock para gratis. This is what 5 stars should be like. We will be repeat customers. read more

John is a personable individual. He takes time to find the issue of my garage and resolved it professional. Highly recommend for anyone.

Professional, courteous and excellent service. I highly recommend John if you are in need of a new garage door or in need of repair. He's also a local (Vallejo) business. read more

You get what you pay for. After the door was installed but not working properly, John made 4 follow up visits and then gave up. So I paid $331 to another company to get the door to close every time. Why the 3-star review? Even with the $331, the complete job cost was under the other 4 bids I received for the original installation. He was also the only contractor to bring samples of garage doors. My take away, only pay 90% of the bid price until the door works fine for at least a week, as is expected in construction. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! After seeing all of the positive reviews on Yelp, my family decided to hire this company to install a brand new garage door. 2 months later and this is what we have....A door coming off of the track and no longer operational. This company states that they are open 24 hours a day however we have received no response to our multiple phone calls, messages via Yelp or messages sent via Google. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

My wife already left a nice review for John, but she left out details that made me a super happy customer. I wanted a particular LiftMaster door opener (Model WLED with brighter lighting) and it was nowhere to be found in stock. John went above and beyond and located one, picked it up, and came over two days later after he fixed our broken garage door spring. He also tuned our garage door and the new opener and we could not be happier. Matter of fact, the garage door and the new opener are so quiet that I shake my head and ask my inner self "how did John do that?" With all the craziness in the world we all see today, dealing with John in-person gave me faith in humanity! Solid small businessman, on time and responsive, extremely nice and easy to deal with, fair prices. I highly recommend him. Thanks again John.......you are a true "garage door/opener whisperer". read more
